Dorothy Chambers
Funeral Services for Dorothy M. Chambers, 102, of Gillette will be held at 2 pm on Thursday February 2, 2006 at Stevenson Wilson Funeral Home, Gillette. Pastor Gordon Harper of the Vineyard Christian Fellowship will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt Pisgah cemetery. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 3-7 at Stevenson Wilson Funeral Home.
Dorothy died peacefully of natural causes on January 28, 2006 at Campbell county Memorial Hospital surrounded by family members. She was born to John Henry and Mary Frances Mutchler north of Yankton, SD on December 10, 1903 the youngest of 14 children. Two years later the family moved to homestead north of Wall, SD. They had the first general store at Wall. In 1910, the family moved to Sulphur, SD and took a desert claims. Dorothy attended 8 years of country school without being absent or tardy. She attended high school at Ames, NE where 2 sisters were teaching. After boarding at Newell for the next year she went to Basin and graduated in 1922. She attended UW for the summer. That next fall, she started teaching in a country school 15 miles south of Gillette with 17 students. In the spring of 1923 she met and married
L.D. (Don) Chambers. They lived in a small one room shack on the homestead. That fall they moved to Gering , NE and then Midwest . In the mid 20’s they came back to the homestead and remained there until 1976, when they moved to Casper and then Arizona for the winters.
Dorothy taught for many years and was involved in several organizations: Happy Gap Homemakers Club, Farm Bureau, American Legion Auxiliary, WWI Aux. and a member of Campbell County Planning Committee. Dorothy came back to Gillette three and one half years ago as a resident of Pioneer Manor.
Dorothy is survived by two daughters, Myrna Sharp of Gillette and Laurel Reed of Casper, six grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 6 step grandchildren, numerous great, great grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Anna Jane Cayce of Grand Junction, CO, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband, Don Chambers (1984) son Zane Leland, (1925) son-in-law John Sharp (2000) and granddaughter Tina Reed Herman (2001).

Eugene W. Reynolds
Eugene W. Reynolds, know to his family and friends as “Gene,” age 49, of Moorcroft, Wyoming, passed away August 25, 2004, at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, Wyoming from complications due to a stroke that occurred on July 3, 2004.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 30, 2004, at the First Presbyterian Church in Moorcroft, Wyoming with Pastor Donovan Voigt officiating. Interment will follow in the Moorcroft cemetery with full military honors provided by the American Legion Post 8473 of Moorcroft, Wyoming. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, August 29, 2004, at the First Presbyterian Church in Moorcroft, Wyoming.
Gene was born March 16, 1955, the son of Wayne and Alberta (Sehn) Reynolds in Gillette, Wyoming. In 1973, Gene graduated from the Moorcroft High School. In July of 1974, Gene enlisted in the U.S. Army. On November 18, 1974, he married
Verlene Taylor in Moorcroft, Wyoming. The couple moved to Tacoma, Washington, where he was stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington until his honorable discharge in July of 1977, when they moved back to Moorcroft, Wyoming. Gene was employed by Basic Energy of Moorcroft, Wyoming.
Gene enjoyed his family, hunting, fishing, golfing and working on hot rods. His favorite pass time was being Crew Chief and watching his son drag race. Gene was serving as Post Commander of the American Legion Post 8473 of Moorcroft, Wyoming.
Gene is survived by his mother; his wife; his son, Chuck Reynolds, all of Moorcroft, Wyoming; two daughters: Kristy Reynolds of Gillette, Wyoming; Laura Whisler, of Moorcroft, Wyoming; his sister, Becky Wood of Duncan, Oklahoma; two brothers: Clint Reynolds of Moorcroft, Wyoming; Alf Reynolds of Oshoto, Wyoming; and the joy of his life, his grandson, J.D. “Bubba” Whisler of Moorcroft, Wyoming.
He was preceded in death by his father and his daughter, Brenda Reynolds.
A memorial has been established in Gene’s name to benefit the Injured Drag Racers.

Wanda Jacobs
Graveside service for Wanda E. Jacobs age 83, of Gillette will be held on 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 30, 2005 at the Mt. Pisgah cemetery in Gillette, with Father Jim Heiser of the St. Matthew’s Catholic Church officiating. Visitation will be held from 3-7, Monday, August 29, 2005 at the Stevenson – Wilson Funeral Home in Gillette, Wyoming. Mrs. Jacobs died Thursday, August 25, 2005 at the Campbell County Memorial Hospital from complications of a stroke.
Wanda Eldora Jacobs was born on February 20, 1922 in Derby, Kansas. She was raised and educated in Kansas, graduating from Cassidy High School in 1940. Wanda was the captain of the basketball team and played clarinet during her high school years. During World War II, Wanda worked for the Boeing Company as a welder in Wichita, Kansas. In the early 1990’s Mrs. Jacobs moved to Gillette. Here she lived independently until moving in to her son’s home in June. Wanda enjoyed friendships made at the Senior Citizen’s Center and was active in a singing group there.
Mrs. Jacobs is survived by her two sons: Tom Jacobs of Tulsa, Oklahoma and David Jacobs of Gillette, Wyoming; two brothers: Glen Mitchell, a Pearl Harbor survivor, of Wichita, Kamsas and Charles Mitchell of Hasty, Colorado; two sisters: Betty Pierce; , Sedgwick, Kansas and Barbara Jo Young of Belleville, Kansas; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Gerald "Jerry" Russell
Memorial services for Gerald “Jerry” Russell, 57, will be held Thursday, March 24, at the Christian Church (100 Flying Circle Drive, Gillette), with Michael Dennis officiating. Interment will follow the service at Mt. Pisgah cemetery in Gillette.
Mr. Russell died Friday, March 18 of a heart blockage. He was traveling home to Gillette after attending a Christian conference in Loveland, CO, and was treated at the Wheatland, WY, hospital, where he passed away.
Jerry was born May 14, 1947, in Beaver, OK, to Emma and John Russell. He grew up in western Kansas and eastern Colorado. After graduating from high school in Colby, KS, he attended Platte Valley Bible College in Scottsbluff, NE. There he met Michelle McLaughlin, and they were married
June 11, 1967, in Gillette.
During their nearly 38 years of marriage the Russells lived in several places: Scottsbluff, NE, Torrington, WY, Bayfield, CO, Gillette, and Rapid City, SD. In each place they were active as volunteers in their church, while he followed his career as an optician. Jerry had recently begun full-time as associate minister at the Christian Church of Gillette. Although he was an effective leader, teacher, and preacher, Jerry considered himself, first of all, to be a servant.
Jerry delighted in having a family of his own to take care of, and was a great dad to his daughter and son. He was an avid golfer, and enjoyed sports in general. In his high school days he was a star basketball player and loved the game.
Jerry was known to family, friends, and church members as a person they could go to for help or counsel. He did not consider any job beneath him. He would carry out trash, deliver a meal, fix a toilet, teach a class, or preach a sermon. He enjoyed visiting shut-ins and loved singing with the church praise team. Jerry’s servant role continues after his death, for he was an organ donor.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Michelle; his daughter, Anne Marie Birdie, and her husband Chad; his son, Jeremy Russell, and his wife Ruth; his beloved granddaughter, Megan Rose Birdie; his mother, Emma Wales of Buena Vista, CO; two sisters, Jeannie Stewart of Bayfield, CO, and Marilyn Hollenbeck of Buena Vista, CO; a brother, Charles “Bud” Russell of Roy, WA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Albert Bartow
Funeral liturgy for Albert Bartow will be 10:00 AM, Friday, June 25, 2004 at the St. Matthews Catholic Church in Gillette, Wyoming with Father Karl Millis officiating. Interment will follow at the Black Hills National cemetery in Sturgis, South Dakota with military honors provided by the Sturgis Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 PM, Thursday, June 24, 2004 at the Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home in Gillette.
Albert Bartow, age 76, of Gillette, Wyoming, died June 21, 2004, at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, Wyoming.
Albert Leroy Bartow was born December 16, 1927 the son of Edward Joseph and Stella Mae (Cormier) Bartow in Sunburst, Montana. Albert was raised and educated in Sunburst, Montana, graduating from Cut Bank High School in 1945. Upon his schooling, he joined the U.S. Navy, serving mostly in the Phillipines. He was honorably discharged in 1948. Albert returned to Cut Bank, Montana to begin an almost fifty year career in the oil field industry. In 1953, he married
Marilyn Thompson in Chinook, Montana. The couple started their family in Montana and moved to Gillette, Wyoming in 1961, where he has resided since. In 1999, Albert retired from the oilfield industry.
He enjoyed visiting with friends and of course spending time with his family.
Albert is survived by six sons: Bob Bartow, Ed Bartow, Jon (Vikki) Bartow, all of Gillette, Wyoming, Tim Bartow of Rolla, Missouri, Brian (Theresa) Bartow and Chris Bartow all of Gillette, Wyoming; his daughter, Amy (Mike) Just of Gillette, Wyoming; two brothers: Richard Bartow of Great Falls, Montana; Douglas Bartow of Virginia Beach, Virginia; fourteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife in 2001; and one brother, Gerald Bartow.
