Howard Herdt, Jr
Funeral services for Howard Herdt, Jr. will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, May 8, 2006 at Stevenson Funeral Home Chapel with Kenna Rose officiating.
Visitation will be held from 3:00-7:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 7, 2006 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Gillette, Wyoming. Interment will be in Mt. Pisgah cemetery in Gillette, Wyoming. Military Honors will be provided by the American Legion Post #42 of Gillette, Wyoming.
Howard Herdt Jr., age 75, of Gillette, Wyoming passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2006 at Campbell County Hospital of natural causes.
Howard was born on November 8, 1930 the son of Walter and Ida (Salseg) Herdt in Eckman, North Dakota. He was raised and educated in Eckman. Howard farmed and also worked on drilling rigs which brought him to Gillette, Wyoming where he worked until his retirement. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Eagles and American Legion Post #42 in Gillette. His hobbies included fishing, darts, playing pitch and throwing horse shoes.
Howard is survived by his sons: Michael Herdt of Rawlings, Wyoming and Gary Herdt of Gillette, Wyoming, daughters: Diane Raley, Gail Herdt and Nancy Koch all of Gillette, Wyoming, brothers: Robert Herdt and Harold Herdt both of North Dakota, Raymond Herdt and Kenneth Herdt both of Minnesota, sisters: Sally Poindexter of Florida, Ardella Newgardad and Eunice Herdt both of North Dakota, Beverly Merk and Lonnie Blackketter both of Minnesota, Karen Second of Wisconsin; 6 grandchildren and 1great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters and 1 brother.

Katherine Peterson
A graveside service for Katherine Peterson of Gillette, Wyoming will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 21, 2006 at Mt. Pisgah cemetery with Pastor Marty Crump of Family Life Church officiating.
Katherine Julia Peterson, age 92, died Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at Campbell County Memorial Hospital of natural causes.
Katherine was born September 17, 1913 in Plattsmouth, Cass County, Nebraska to John and Nora Likewise, moving to Campbell County at the age of 4.
She met Charlie W. Peterson and they were married
August 26, 1938 living on the ranch on Timber Creek Road. Mr. Peterson died in June of 1977. Mrs. Peterson continued living on the ranch until 1983 when she moved to Birchwood Apartments. She was an excellent cook and was known for her great hospitality.
Mrs. Peterson is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Ruff and husband, John, granddaughter, Katherine McCoy and husband, Ken, grandson, Chuck Hensley and wife, Niki, 2 great-grandsons: Rodney Rech and Derek Hensley all of Gillette, Wyoming; great-granddaugthers: Tammy Hess of Wright, Wyoming, Christy Brothers and Erin Hensley both of Gillette, Wyoming. She is also survived by 5 great great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 1 granddaughter, 2 brothers: John Likewise and Henry Likewise and 3 sisters: Margaret Robb, Helen McCue and Dorothy Moore.

Philip Varner
Memorial service for Philip Varner of Gillette, Wyoming will be at 10:00 A.M. Monday, November 14, 2005 at the Family Life Church with Pastor Marty Crump officiating. Inurnment will be in the columbarium at Mt. Pisgah cemetery.
Philip Varner, age 77 passed away at his home in Gillette, Wyoming on Tuesday, November 8, 2005 of cancer.
Philip Rex Varner, known to his family and friends as Phil was born on July 14, 1928 the son of Beecher and Hollis (Roberts) Varner in Powersville, Missouri. At the age of two Phil’s father was killed in a logging accident. Shortly there after Phil moved with his mother to Sheridan, Wyoming where he was raised and educated. Upon his graduation Phil entered the Navy serving in WWII. In 1949 Phil married
Jeanine Halbert in Sheridan. Phil worked for Boyds Super Market in Sheridan. In 1952 he partnered with Roy Carlson opening Boyd’s Super Foods in Gillette and Sundance. The family made their home here in Gillette. Phil retired from the business in 1980.
Phil was a past president of the Gillette Area Chamber of Commerce, served on the Campbell County School Board and an active Shriner and Mason. In his retirement Phil enjoyed traveling with his wife. Phil’s family was of utmost importance. He enjoyed many weekends at the lake with his kids. He was dedicated to his children’s activities as well as grandchildren’s.
Phil is survived by his 3 children: Teri Hunter and her husband Joe of Gillette, Wyoming, Buz Varner and Debbie DiMichele both of Bozeman, Montana; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren and he and Jeanine’s beloved dog “Heidi”.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years and his parents.

Monty Maxwell
Monty Maxwell, age 57, of Gillette, Wyoming, died December 22, 2004 at his home in Gillette of heart complications.
Monty Dean Maxwell was born March 8, 1947, the son of Arthur and Dorothy (Hickins) Maxwell in Wessington Springs, South Dakota. Monty attended schools in Wessington Springs, South Dakota. Upon his schooling, he enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1964. Upon his discharge in 1967, he moved to Gillette, Wyoming where he worked on oil rigs as a driller. He then moved to Sidney, Montana where in 1978 he married
Donna Senn. The couple lived in Montana until moving to Gillette in 1983 due to the lack of work in Sidney.
Monty enjoyed fishing, hunting and riding motorcycles; he also enjoyed being with his children.
Monty is survived by his wife, Donna Maxwell; two daughters: April Glick of Cheyenne, Wyoming; Deserae Maxwell of Gillette, Wyoming; one brother, Gary Maxwell of Shokoppe, Minnesota; three sisters: Marvelyn Salmon of Gillette, Wyoming; Sharon Pearson of Casper, Wyoming; Sandy Hemmah of Sundance, Wyoming; and two grand children: Marcus Allan Glick and Dillon Dean Glick , twenty-three nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.

Donald Rosendahl
Graveside service for Donald Rosendahl will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 28, 2004 at the Mt. Pisgah cemetery with Chaplain Bob Rudichar officiating.
Donald Rosendahl, age 65, of Gillette, Wyoming died July 23, 2004 at the Campbell County Memorial Hospital in Gillette, Wyoming.
Donald A. Rosendahl was born in England and came to the United States during WWII. He spent part of his early life in foster care and in a children’s home and was later adopted by the Rosendahl family. Don graduated from high school and attended some college classes in Iowa, studying business administration. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1962 and was at various Air Bases including Selfidge Air Base in Michigan and various Air Force Bases throughout the United States. During his military career, he was trained in air flight maintenance and served as a flight mechanic for many years. He resided in Iowa, Anchorage, Alaska, Seattle, Washington and Sheridan, Wyoming. He has lived in Gillette, Wyoming as a resident of the Pioneer Manor Nursing Home since 1987.
Donald enjoyed watching television shows and reading peanuts cartoon books. He was a very quiet and private man, but loved to sing hymns and was known for his love of oranges and sweets.
He will be missed by the staff and other residents of the Pioneer Manor Nursing Home.

May Benson
Funeral service for May Benson will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 14, 2004 at the St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Gillette, Wyoming with Father Thomas Kadera officiating. Interment will follow in the Mount Pisgah cemetery in Gillette, Wyoming. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, July 13, 2004 at the Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Gillette.
May Benson, age 74, of Gillette, Wyoming, died Friday, July 9, 2004 at her home of natural causes.
May T. Benson was born February 5, 1930, the daughter of Mary (Jury) and Thomas Taylor in Reno, Nevada. She was educated at a Catholic school in San Francisco, California. On September 26, 1947, she married
Dell M. Benson of Lovell, Wyoming in Billings, Montana. They lived in several western states during her husband’s many years in highway construction. She was very happy with all the friends they made everywhere. In 1972, the couple moved to Gillette, Wyoming, making it their permanent home.
May was fond of fishing and camping with her family. She loved her occasional trips to Deadwood, South Dakota. May had many hobbies: crocheting outfits for dolls to give to needy children and family; she hand made angels that she loved to give to her many fiends and people she didn’t know. Until lately, one of her favorite passions was her almost daily trips to town and seeing her friends at the different stores. May was lovingly known to almost everyone as “Aunt May” or “Miss May.” The paperboys and papergirls would make a point to stop and get their treats and say “Hi.” “Stranger” was not a word in May’s vocabulary.
Mrs. Benson will be greatly missed by her daughters: Paula Krussow and son-in-law, Marvin of Gillette, Wyoming; Sharon Chamberlain and son-in-law, Harvey both of Gillette, Wyoming; two sons: Dell and Leonard Benson both of Gillette, Wyoming; five grandsons: Tony and Joey Krussow, Jason and Tom Chamberlain of Gillette, Wyoming and Tom Benson of Trenton, Georgia; and seven grandchildren, of which she had much joy and love for.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dell and her youngest son, Tom.

Lance Dockter
Funeral Services for Lance Dockter will be at 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 14, 2004, at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Gillette, Wyoming with Pastor Chad Bruklacher officiating. Interment will follow in the Mount Pisgah cemetery in Gillette, Wyoming. Visitation will be from 2:00-5:00 PM, Wednesday, October 13, 2004, at the Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Gillette.
Lance Dockter, age 33, of Gillette, Wyoming, died Saturday, October 9, 2004, at the Campbell County Memorial Hospital in Gillette, Wyoming after a two and half year battle with cancer.
Lance Robert Dockter was born on November 10, 1970, the son of Robert “Bob “and Cheryl (Rohwedder) Dockter in Miller, South Dakota. He attended Hillcrest and Paintbrush elementary schools and Sage Valley Jr. High. Lance graduated from Campbell County High School in 1990. While attending high school, Lance participated in football, basketball and track. After graduation Lance attended the University of Wyoming for two years and played on the UW baseball team. After college he was employed with KG construction in Gillette, Wyoming until he moved to Missoula Montana. While in Missoula, Lance worked for various construction companies and also became a welder. In 1994 he returned to Gillette where he was employed with Osborne construction for a short time before he worked for Interstate Diesel. In 1997 Lance went to work for Cyprus Coal at the Belle Ayr mine and then transfered to the Eagle Butte mine working in production.
Lance was a member of the National Rifle Association. He played on the American Legion Post 42 baseball team as a pitcher and also played on a local softball team. Lance enjoyed the outdoors including fishing, hunting in the Jackson area, riding four-wheelers and backpacking all of which he enjoyed with his son and friends. Lance also helped coach his son’s T-Ball baseball team and enjoyed golfing, listening to music and attending concerts. He saw Kid Rock twice this past summer. Most of all Lance enjoyed visiting and spending time with his family and friends.
Lance is survived by his parents Bob and Cheryl Dockter of Gillette, Wyoming; sister Kim and Gary Bress of Denver, Colorado; son Drayson Dockter of Gillette, Wyoming; grandmother Alma Dockter of Cresbard, South Dakota and Numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.
Lance was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather David Dockter and maternal grandparents LeRoy and Dorothy Rohwedder.

Ivan Snell
Funeral services for Ivan Snell will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 13, 2004 at the Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Orvil Holden of the First Assembly of God Church officiating. A private cremation service will follow.
Visitation will be on Friday, November 12, 2004 from 4-7 p.m. at the Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel.
Ivan Snell age 45, of Rozet, Wyoming died November 6, 2004, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
Ivan Lee Snell was born August 12, 1959, the son of Samuel and Irene (Fredrickson) Snell in Pinedale, Wyoming. In 1966 the family moved to Gillette, Wyoming where Ivan attended school. At the age of sixteen he started work in the oil fields as a roughneck, working on drilling rigs as a driller and a relief tool pusher. Ivan then worked for Tree Electric, which later became P&H Mine Pro for the last 15 years. On December 2, 1985, Ivan married
Cynthia Hanson in Gillette, Wyoming. The couple made their home in Rozet, Wyoming.
Ivan enjoyed camping, fishing, and all sports and especially riding his motorcycle. Ivan also loved to spend time with his children and family. He had many, many, friends who along with his family will miss him dearly. Ivan’s passion was working and the family has said he was a workaholic.
Ivan is survived by his parents Samuel and Irene Snell; his wife Cynthia Snell; two sons Samuel Snell and Trevor Snell all of Rozet, Wyoming, one brother Travis Snell of Rozet, Wyoming, and one sister, Debbie Dawson of Olathe, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother Martha Fredrickson; maternal grandparents and paternal grandparents; Uncle Gene Snell, and Aunt Helen Snell.

Nadine Goza

Nadine Goza, age 86, of Gillette, Wyoming, died Tuesday, August 17, 2004 at the Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Gillette, Wyoming due to a long-term illness.
Nadine Gertrude (Houchen) Goza was born September 19, 1917, the daughter of Oliver H. and Blanche V. (Boman) Houchen in Unity Saskatchewan, Canada. Nadine was raised by her paternal grandparents after the death of her mother in 1929. On December 20, 1937, she married
“Mutt” Goza in Halsted, Kansas. Nadine owned and operated Pixie Pet Shop from 1970 to 1985 and 4 Paws Grooming from 1985 until her retirement in 1994. Nadine lived in Gillette, Wyoming for many years.
Nadine is survived by two sons: Ben (Carol) Goza of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Jim (Juanita) Goza of Evansville, Wyoming; one daughter, Jerri (Ron) McGlothlin of Gillette, Wyoming; five grandchildren: Alisa (Reggie) Ross; George (Sue) Goza; Troy (Sherry) Goza; Kari Goza; Marni (Brad) Stout; Meghan (David) Anderson; her great grandchildren: Raeanne, Rory and Rainer Ross; Lane and Chase Goza; Will Goza; Corbin and Ethan Stout; and one brother, Bob (Betty Jo) Houchen of McPherson, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two sisters: Pauline and Dorothy Houchen and one granddaughter, Nicki McGlothlin.

Patty McGee
Funeral service for Patty McGee of Gillette, Wyoming will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at the New Life Wesleyan Church in Gillette, Wyoming with Pastor Marty Crump of the Family Life Church of Gillette officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Pisgah cemetery in Gillette, Wyoming.
Patty McGee, age 70, died on Saturday, March 26, 2005 at her home in Gillette, Wyoming after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Patty L. McGee was born on September 20, 1934 the daughter of Alvin and Anna Marie (Ellingson) Manor in Spearfish, South Dakota. She was raised and educated in the Caputa, South Dakota area. In 1951, she moved with her family to Gillette, Wyoming and in 1952, she graduated from Campbell County High School. After graduation she worked as a switchboard operator in the Gillette telephone office. On July 1, 1953 she married
Paul McGee in Gillette, Wyoming. Together, they owned and operated McGee’s Ready mix until 1980 when they sold the business after which they enjoyed spending their free time at their second home in Pine Haven, Wyoming. Patty enjoyed bowling, sewing and had a special day reserved for playing cards with her friends. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church and taught Sunday school for twelve years. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mrs. McGee is survived by one daughter: Jeanie (George) Wanke; two sons: Jack (Terri) McGee and Rusty (Tina) McGee all of Gillette, Wyoming; one brother: Mike (Amy) Manor of Recluse, Wyoming; one sister: Deani (John) Curtis of Gillette, Wyoming; six grandchildren: Billy Vincent; Lisa Vincent; Marc McGee; Whitney McGee; Lindsey McGee and Aaron McGee and three great grandchildren: Alex Vincent; Paul Vincent and Jonathan Grant.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul; and infant twins- son Mickey and daughter Margy.
