Alice S. Bates
Funeral Services for Alice Scott Bates, age 98, of Gillette will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 10, 2005 at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joel Wright of First Presbyterian Church officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service and interment will follow the funeral service in Mt. Pisgah cemetery.
Alice died October 4, 2005 at Pioneer Manor of natural causes.
Mrs. Bates was born November 12, 1906 in Rancho, Texas the daughter of Scott and Mildred (Littleton) New. They lived in Texas and Oklahoma before moving to Gillette in March 1917 to homestead on Wild Horse Creek.
Alice attended school in Gillette and worked in various places.
She married
George W. Bates on October 10, 1926 in Gillette. They had four boys and lived the next several years in Gillette and Sheridan. Alice worked as a cook in several cafes, including the Cozy Lunch, on the corner of main and 3rd where the bank is now. She also worked several years for Husky Truck Stop where Ford Garage is now. The family moved to Sheridan again in 1974 and milked cows, raised calves, chickens and a large garden each year. Alice did lots of canning, churning butter, crocheting, embroidery, and quilting. She lived in Sheridan for a year after George passed away and then she moved back to Gillette to the Squaw Valley Apartments in June 1990. In February 1999 she moved to Pioneer Manor.
Alice will be missed by her four sons; Don Bates and wife of Gillette, James Bates and wife of Hamilton, WA, Richard Bates and wife of Casper, WY and Scott Bates and wife of Lead, SD. Two sisters; Blanche Willard and Laverne Cook and husband of Gillette, one brother, Edward New and wife of Sun City, CA. Alice is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and 34 great-great grandchildren plus many nieces and nephews. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, three sisters, one granddaughter, one grandson and one great-grandson. Erica Lynn Goetz
Goetz, Erica Lynn, age 14 of Idleyld Park, Oregon, passed away on Friday, November 18, 2005 as the result of a tragic ATV accident at Toketee Falls east of Roseburg, Oregon. She was born March 22, 1991 in Gillette, Wyoming and attended the Paint Brush Grade School and Sage Valley Junior High School in Gillette. She moved to Idleyld Park a year and a half ago and was a freshman at the Glide High School in Glide, Oregon.
Erica was a people person who treasured her friends and family. She was a girl who was true to herself and loved life. She also loved to laugh. Erica enjoyed the outdoors and woodworking. She had been a member of St. Matthews Catholic Church in Gillette as well as the 4H Club. She was deeply loved and will never be forgotten.
Erica leaves her mother, Joyce Donnell *and her husband *Joe of Idleyld Park, her father, Richard Goetz *and his wife, *Dalene* *of Gillette, four sisters, Amanda Goetz of Gillette, Julia Donnell of Idleyld Park, Cindy Donnell of Seattle, Washington and Katie Donnell of Oakland, California, three brothers, Kris and Kody Rathai, both of Gillette and Obie Donnell of Thorton, Colorado. Grandparents, Victor Goetz of Richardson, North Dakota, Rochelle Eichenberger and her husband Russ of Pine Haven, Wyoming and Clif Ritchie of Gillette, also survive her. She was preceded in death by grandparents, Ed and Minnie Mischel, Art and Beulah Donnell and Bernice Goetz.
A Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2005 at 6:00 p.m. at Taylor’s Family Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Friday, November 25, 2005 at 12:10 pm. Services for her Gillette friends and family will be held on Monday, November 28, 2005 at 11:00 am at St. Matthews Catholic Church.

Jean Robinson
Memorial service for Jean Robinson will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 8, 2006 at the First Presbyterian Church in Gillette, Wyoming with Kenna Lou Rose officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Pisgah cemetery. Stevenson Wilson Funeral Home of Gillette is entrusted with the arrangements.
Laura “Jean” Eugenia Robinson, age 73, of Gillette, Wyoming passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2006 after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Jean Robinson was born on September 22, 1932 the daughter of Plumer and Laura Mae (Corthorn) Whitworth in Lavonia, Georgia. As a young child she moved to California with her family where she was raised. She married
Richard Harold Malone in 1953 in Vernal, Utah where she lived until 1968. The couple later divorced. In June of 1968 Jean and her family came to Gillette, Wyoming. Jean married
Roscoe Robinson in July of 1968 in Elko, Nevada. Jean worked at various jobs in Gillette, Wyoming, however she is most remembered for her employment with Stockmans Bank and Norwest currently Wells Fargo Bank. Her health forced her to retire in the mid 1990’s. Jean loved cats and her big heart for them was apparent because she left food out and adopted many that did not have a home. She was an avid Bingo player and would drag her grandson’s along as much as time would allow. Jean enjoyed many trips to Deadwood, South Dakota playing the slots. Most often she could be found in front of a Wheel of Fortune Machine.
Jean is survived by her son, Jim (Vicki) Malone of Wills Point, Texas; son, Richard “Rick” Malone II of Gillette, Wyoming; daughter, Sherrie Malone of Gillette, Wyoming; daughter, Sue (Shane) Roberts of Gillette, Wyoming; sister, Ginger Harrison of Simpsonville, South Carolina; 7 grandchildren: Michelle Black, Tracie Cross, Jeffrey Wayne McGee, Shane “Levi” Cole Roberts, Scott Rodney Roberts, Stacie Johnson and Richard Malone III and 8 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother, Robert Whitworth and one grandson, John Daniel McGee.

Brandon Lee Leivestad
Funeral services for Brandon Lee Leivestad of Gillette, Wyoming will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 12th, at the Mt. Pisgah cemetery Chapel in Gillette, Wyoming with Pastor Orvil Holden of the First Assembly of God Church of Gillette, Wyoming officiating and Pastor Gary Williams of the West Side Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 2:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 11th, 2005 at the Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home in Gillette. Burial will follow at the Mt. Pisgah cemetery in Gillette, Wyoming.
Brandon Lee Leivestad died Friday, April 8, 2005 of Asphyxiation, in Rozet, Wyoming.
Brandon Lee Leivestad was born January 16, 1979 to Dale and Shelia (Brothers) Leivestad in Glendive, Montana. He married
Kelly Ewalt on May 22, 2001, in Gillette, Wyoming. Brandon worked in the oil fields, most of all he loved driving his truck.
Brandon enjoyed boating, water and snow skiing, fishing, dirt biking, three wheeling, and hanging out with friends, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. Brandon liked to give everyone a hard time and enjoyed every minute of it. He always had a good time. Brandon also enjoyed all his nieces and nephews especially when it was time to eat.
Brandon is survived by his wife Kelly Leivestad of Gillette, Wyoming; son, Blake Leivestad, of Gillette, Wyoming; daughter, Shailee Leivestad, of Gillette, Wyoming; parents Dale Leivestad and Sherry Vogel of Baker, Montana; Shelia and Neil O’Conner of Baker, Montana; sister Brandie (Dennis) Randash of Baker, Montana; and numerous nieces and nephews, and inlaws.
He was preceded in death by his Grandma Ruth, Aunt Dolly, Leonard and Wava Leivestad, grandmother Arlene Brothers, and grandparents Joseph and Rose Cassady.
A memorial has been established in Brandon’s name to benefit his children Shailee and Blake.

Vera Gould
Memorial services for Vera Gould, age 85, of Gillette, WY will be held 10:00A.M.on Tuesday, January 11, 2005 at the Blanche Beck Memorial Chapel at the Pioneer Manor, with Chaplain Bob Rudichar officiating.
Ms. Gould died Saturday, January 8, 2005 at the Pioneer Manor Nursing Home of natural causes.
Vera Goldie Gould was born on September 14, 1919, the daughter of Claude and Emily (Erickson) Gould in Basin, Wyoming. She was raised and educated in the Basin and Greybull areas. Upon the completion of her schooling she moved to Lander. Vera lived the entirety of her life in Wyoming including, Cheyenne, Thermopolis and finally coming to Gillette in the mid nineties as a resident to the Pioneer Manor. Vera enjoyed being around people and their company.
She is survived by one brother, Walter Gould of Las Cruses, New Mexico; five nieces and four nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers.

Mark O'Donnell
Funeral services for Mark Edward O’Donnell, age 74, of Gillette will be held 10:00 A.M, Friday, December 9,2005 at Stevenson Wilson Funeral Home in Gillette with Pastor Clint Pickerel of the Gillette Christian Center officiating. Burial will follow at 2:30 in the Black Hills National cemetery in Sturgis, SD, with Military Chaplain, Father Bill Zandri officiating. Full military honors will be provided by the Sturgis Honor Guard.
Mark died on December 5, 2005 at Campbell County Memorial Hospital from complications of pneumonia. He was born on April 13, 1931 in Lemmon, SD the son of Francis and Emma (Davis) O’Donnell, where he was raised and educated. Following his schooling, Mark enlisted in the Air Force where he served as an airplane mechanic. On July 11, 1956, Mark married
Bernice Sandland in Selfridge, South Dakota together they had 5 children. Over the course of his life, Mark worked in a lumber mill, as a truck driver and as a custodian in Gillette area schools. After retirement Mark enjoyed gardening, playing cards and taking care of animals. He loved his naps.
Mark is survived by his 4 children: Mike O’Donnell of Sparks, NV, Karen Perez of Dodge City, KS, Patricia O’Donnell and Lisa Lindgren both of Gillette; thirteen grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, two brothers: Paul O’Donnell of Pine Haven and John O’Donnell of Moristown, SD.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Bernice, his daughter Lori, two brothers: Francis and Vincent O’Donnell and two sisters, Agnes Gores and Mary McNerney.

Margaret Mowery
Mass of Christian Burial for Margaret Mowery, of Gillette, Wyoming will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 20, 2006 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Spearfish, South Dakota, interment will follow in the Pine Slope cemetery in Belle Fourche, South Dakota. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at Stevenson Funeral Home Chapel in Gillette, Wyoming. A Rosary will be said at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Spearfish, South Dakota.
Margaret Mowery, age 85, passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2006 at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home of natural causes.
Margaret Cecilia Mowery, known to her family and friends as Marge, was born October 31, 1920 in Lead, South Dakota, the daughter of Thomas and Mary (Borg) Nevin. She attended St. Patrick’s grade school in Lead, South Dakota and graduated from Lead High School in 1939. After moving to Denver, Colorado and working for the Government during World War II, she returned to Lead in the late forties. On October 5, 1950 she was united in marriage to Truman Mowery in Lead, South Dakota. They made their home on Truman’s ranch north of Aladdin, Wyoming until 1989 when due to ill health they moved to Spearfish, South Dakota. In October of 2003 Mrs. Mowery moved to Gillette, Wyoming to be near her daughter and reside in Pioneer Manor Nursing Home. Margaret enjoyed cross stitching, word puzzles, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren and attending all of their activities, never missing a birthday or anything that involved them. Along with her children, her grandkids were the love of her life. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church of Spearfish, South Dakota.
Margaret will be missed by her daughter, Mary Kay (Dennis) Lundvall of Gillette, Wyoming, daughter-in-law, Tracey Mowery of New Underwood, South Dakota, 3 granddaughters: Mandi and Misti Mowery and Shonna K. Lundvall; 2 grandsons: Shilo and Shay Lundvall; sister-in-law, Colleen Nevin of Lead, South Dakota, several nieces, nephews and cousins, along with a multitude of friends.
Mrs. Mowery was preceded in death by her parents; husband, 1 son, Steven Mowery, 1 infant granddaughter, Kelli Jo Mowery and 6 sisters and 1 brother.

Connie Kennedy
Connie was born in Rock Springs, Wyoming, USA on July 3, 1964 and passed to be with her Lord for eternity on Saturday evening June 27, 2004, in the Foothills Hospital, in Calgary, AB, Canada. Connie moved with her family from Pinedale, Wyoming to Twin Bridges then to Ashland, Montana where she attended grade school. In 1978 she and the family moved to Forsyth, where she graduated in 1982. She attended Montana School of Mines for three years, then moved to Calgary, AB. then on to Ft. St. Johns. B.C. She returned to the Calgary area again and settled in the Turner Valley, Black Diamond, until she passed away.
Connie is survived by her children, Kenidy and Angela Klassen, ages 9 and 7. Parents Mike and Donna Kennedy of Forsyth, Montana. Her brother and his wife Dan and Mary Kennedy and their daughter Nicole all of Forsyth, Montana; Mike and Tammy Kennedy and their children Brent and Ashley, all of Joplin, Missouri, her brother Chris and his wife Shirley of Aurora, Colorado, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins in the states, also Paula Jeannotte and Kelly Harmeson of Calgary.
Connie lived in Black Diamond/Turner Valley, and the Calgary area for about the last 3 years and in that time has become a valuable member of these communities. For the last year she was a valued employee of John Stoll at Hortscape LTD Horticulture and Landscaping, of Black Diamond. She had taken an active role in many of the community projects, and in doing so has become friends and family with many of the members of these communities. She always had an open ear and heart to the situations that confronted these communities, and took a personal role in the lives of many members of this community she considered home. She was adamant in her role of helping them understand and solve the problems they confronted. She was a friend to anyone who needed one, and put her family and friends at the top of her priorities. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.

Faith Firnekas
Funeral services for Faith Mackenzie Firnekas will be held on Friday, March 24, 2006 at 2:00pm at Wright Baptist Church with Pastor John Selby of Wright Baptist Church, Pastor Jerry Martin of Cheyenne Cowboy Church and Pastor Alan Kiefer of Prairie View Assembly of God Church officiating. Faith Firnekas, age 11 months, of Wright, Wyoming passed away on Monday, March 20, 2006 at her home. Causes at this time are unknown.
Faith was born on April 1, 2005 in Cheyenne, Wyoming to Jason and Shanna (Carpenter) Firnekas. She has an older brother, Calvin Jay and sister, Victoria Belle. Faith was a very happy baby. She loved playing with her stuffed toys and her brothers Professional Bull Rider Bulls. Faith loved being with her family and greeted everyone with a smile, always with two fingers in her mouth.
Faith will be greatly missed by her parents, brother and sister all of Wright, Wyoming; grandparents, Rick and Melissa Carpenter of Casper, Wyoming; Robert and Marva Humpal of Casper, Wyoming; Connie and Edward Sack of Douglas, Wyoming; Calvin Lynn and Judy Firnekas of Glenrock, Wyoming. She will also be missed by her great grandparents, Marvin and Audrey Foster of Hudson, Wyoming; Virginia and Bob Burkhead of Spokane, Washington; Dean and Cleo Carpenter of Douglas, Wyoming; Irene and Bud Sack of Douglas, Wyoming; Wanda Firnekas of Saratoga, Wyoming; great great grandma, Mary Carpenter of Douglas, Wyoming; Uncle, Cody and Aunt Autumn Carpenter of Casper, Wyoming, two aunts: Tahnee and Taryn Alton of Casper, Wyoming; and many cousins.
Faith was preceded in death by her Uncle Calvin Joe Firnekas and great grandmother Shirley Carpenter.

Rebeccah “Becky” Scott a Pioneer Manor resident died Monday, August 29, 2005 of a long time illness.
She will be remembered most for helping people and living her life to the fullest until the very end. Becky will be missed by her husband Jack Alexander of Gillette; Carrie Reed of Craig, Colorado; Catrina Warfield of Soldotna, Alaska; and her five grandchildren.

Edna E. Schneider
Graveside services for Edna E. Schneider, age 86, will be held on Friday, December 30, 2005 at 11:00 am in the Elks Section of the Sheridan Municipal cemetery in Sheridan, Wyoming with Minister Mike Dennis of the Christian Church in Gillette, Wyoming officiating.
Edna E. Schneider, age 86, of Sheridan, Wyoming passed away at the Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Gillette, Wyoming of natural causes.
Edna E. Stevens was born on September 3, 1919 in Sheridan, Wyoming the daughter of David and Alice (Barker) Stevens. She was raised and educated in Sheridan, Wyoming. Edna married
C. Wayne Schneider on February 19, 1938 in Billings, Montana. The couple moved to Gillette, Wyoming until the fall of 1939 when they moved to Fort Worth, Texas until 1944 when the couple then returned to Gillette, Wyoming and finally to Sheridan, Wyoming where they lived and raised their two children Terry W. Schneider and Judy A. Schneider. Edna was a talented homemaker, enjoyed needle work, crafts and gardening. In her later years she was employed at the Sheridan College Library. Edna was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi Organization.
Edna is survived by her son, Terry (Myrna) Schneider of Gunnison, Colorado; daughter, Judy (Charles D.) Schneider-Birdie of Gillette, Wyoming; two grandchildren: Misty D. Birdie of Sheridan, Wyoming and Chad W. (Anne) Birdie of Gillette, Wyoming; one great grandchild, Megan Birdie of Gillette, Wyoming; two brothers: R. Doland Stevens of Sweet Home, Oregon and Thomas R. Stevens of Vancouver, Washington.
She was preceded in death by her husband, C. Wayne Schneider; granddaughter, Melanie A. Birdie; parents, David and Alice Stevens; sister, Jennie Kusel and brother, David “Bud” Stevens.
