Carl G. Ralston, age 92, died peacefully following a stroke on September 9, 2000, in Kirkland, Washington. He was born in Weston County, Wyoming on July 15, 1908 to Roy & Grace (Ross) Ralston. The family moved to Sheridan during his youth and he graduated from Sheridan High School in 1926. He began work as a bookkeeper in the First National Bank of Sheridan in the early years of the depression after completing business college. He retired from the same bank in 1979, approximately 50 years later, as Chairman of the Board.
Carl was married to Doris McNeil Ralston from 1932 until her death in 1937. He served our country in the Pacific during WWII in the Army Air Corps and the Merchant Marines. In 1946, he married Victoria “Dolly” Boatsman of Upton, Wyoming. In 1948, Carl and Dolly started the Ralston Tourist Court on North Main, which they expanded over the years to become the Sheridan Center Inn. Carl and Dolly retired to Mesa, Arizona in 1979. Dolly died on January 1, 2000 and Carl moved to Washington State shortly thereafter to be near his son and family.
Carl was a member of the First Congregational Church of Sheridan, Elks Lodge #520, Sheridan Lodge #8 A.F. & A.M., York and Scottish Rite Bodies, the Royal Order of Jesters, the Order of Eastern Star, the Sheridan Rotary Club and the Sheridan Country Club. He was Past Commander of Knights Templar and Past Potentate of Kalif Temple. He served on the Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County Board for 12 years and was one of the many workers who helped establish the fine present Sheridan Library.
He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Boatsman Newman of Nipomo, CA; son Atley Ralston, M.D., daughter-in-law Sheila Bird Ralston, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two nieces and two nephews.
Graveside service will be 9:00am Monday (Sept. 18th) in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery followed by a memorial service at 10:30am from First Congregational Church with the Rev. Douglas Goodwin officiating. Arrangements are with Ferries Funeral Home, Sheridan Wyoming.

Raymond A. Rangunot Age 76 of Big Horn, WY

He attended schools in Campbell County and Buffalo, WY. As a youth he was an excellent tennis player and enjoyed all sports. He enlisted in the U.S. Army during WWII. After the service, he returned to Wyoming and worked as a ranch hand for the Bob Gibbs family in Buffalo, WY. He enjoyed reading.

Roy E. Ringley Age 83 of Sheridan, WY
Died Thursday, March 9, 2000, at his Sheridan home
Born April 1, 1916, in Pactola, S. Dakota
Parents - Roy & Virginia (Rice) Ringley
He attended school in Pactola until age 10 when the family moved to Phoenix, AR, where Roy graduated from Phoenix Union High School. In 1934, he came to Sheridan and worked in various jobs until he began his trucking career. In 1937, he was united in marriage to Vesta Thomas by the Reverend Oliver Reed in Sheridan. He served in the Army during W.W.II. After the service, he worked for several large trucking firms including Salt Creek Freightways in Sheridan, Buckingham Freightways in Rapid City, SD, Wells Trucking Co. and Navajo Freightlines in California. He also worked for Donnelly Van and Storage in Sheridan from 1963 until 1968. In 1968, he moved to Las Vegas, NV, where he worked for Capital North American Moving Company as warehouse and truck foreman until he retired in 1981. He returned to Sheridan in 1992. Roy was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Teamsters Union, York Rite and Kalif Shrine. He was a Past Master of Big Horn Mountain Masonic Lodge #43. He loved fishing, the Big Horn Mountains and the Black Hills of South Dakota.
Preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother.

Patricia R. Robinson -- Age 70 of Sheridan, WY, died Tuesday, February 6, 2001, in Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County. Funeral service will be 10:00am on Saturday (Feb. 10th) from First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Joseph Keys officiating. Interment in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery, Masonic #43 section. Juanita E. Ruby, 90, lifelong Sheridan resident passed away Thursday, November 9, 2000 at her residence. She was born February 10, 1910 in Sheridan to Robert E. and Flossie M. Pierce Wallace.
In 1935, she was united in marriage to Charles W. Smith in Hardin, Montana. She worked as a licensed practical nurse at Campbell Co. Memorial Hospital in Gillette for awhile. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing her own clothes, and playing cards. Her husband, Charles preceded her in death on April 13, 1952.
On November 18, 1959 she married Delbert H. Ruby in Sheridan. Juanita was a member of First Baptist Church and was the Vice President of Mary Martha Circle through the Women's Missionary Society at First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Donna Finley and husband, James of Kingman, Arizonia, two sons, David Smith and wife, Kim of Phoenix, Arizonia and Richard Smith of Sheridan; 8 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert in 1984 and brother, Leslie Wallace.
Funeral service will be 2pm Wednesday, November 15, 2000 at Kane Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Doolin officiating. Interment will follow in the Elks Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Crippled Veterans Foundation in care of Kay Roush, First Federal Savings Bank, PO Box 6007, Sheridan, WY, 82801.
Irene Rudolph passed away February 28, 2000 at Sheridan Manor, surrounded by family from an extended illness.
Irene was born September 24, 1912, to Alfred and Amelia Reinking Decker in Greenwood, Wisconsin. She moved to Montana with her family when she was around three years old. As she grew to a teen, she worked for different families on ranches. She married Harry Powell on October 9, 1930 in Hardin, Montana. To them were born 4 children; Alice Mae Morris Fleming, Willis (Bill) Alfred Powell, Addie Marie Goodwin, and Lee Stewart Powell. They ranched at Quietus, Montana until Harry passed away April 20, 1958 at the ranch. She later moved to Sheridan and took care of an old friend Mertie Willey.
She married George Rudolph in September of 1961 in Sheridan, Wyoming. They lived and worked on several ranches in Montana and Wyoming and then moved to the Trails End where they were caretakers for Manville Kendrick at the Mansion. Later, they retired and lived at 335 N. Custer in Sheridan until George became ill and had to go to Sheridan Manor Nursing Home. Irene could no longer take care of the home and had to sell it and move to Sheridan Square in June of 1999.
She enjoyed family and friends. She was active in the Methodist Church and enjoyed babysitting.
Irene is survived by her husband George of Sheridan Manor; two daughters Alice Morris Fleming of Otter, MT, and Addie Goodwin and her husband Ace of Otter; two sons, Willis Powell and his wife Bobbie of Gillette and Lee Powell and his wife Jackie of Decker, MT; one brother LeRoy Decker and his wife Neta of LaClede, Idaho; 13 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Irene is also survived by 3 stepchildren, Marge Johnson and her husband Vince, John and his wife Pat, Jack and two step daughters-in- law, Carol Rudolph of Sheridan and Carol Rudolph of Canada, 6 step grandchildren, and 11 step great grandchildren. She is also survived by some very special friends Michael and Mary Beth Evers and their sons Joseph and Nicholas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, 2 brothers, 1 great-great grandson and one stepson.

Christina W. Sanders, Sheridan resident passed away on Monday, October 23, 2000 at Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County at the age of 83. Christian was born on April 15, 1917 in Bear Creek, Montana to Patrick Ernest and Christian Hotchkiss Chesney. She attended grade school at Dietz's #8 and graduated from Sherian High School in 1936. She went to work for TAT Ranch in 1936 for Bill and Luci Leach in Kearney, WY which is now Rafter Y Ranch near Story, WY until 1944. In 1944, she went to Ogden, Utah with 3 of her sisters to work at Hill Field during the war. At the end of the war, she returned to work at the TAT Ranch until she married in 1953. On September 19, 1953 she married John Kimble Sanders and became a home maker. From 1960 to 1978, she was co-owner of Brown Drug with her husband, John. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and had a very special relationship with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her hobbied included reading, golfing, knitting, and cooking.
She is survived by her children, John S. Sanders and wife, Michele and Lori A. Sanders Alexander and husband, Don; three sisters, Ada Huggins, mary Ellen Goodman, and Norma Eide; brother, Bernard Williams; six grandchildren, Nathan Sanders, Scott Alexander, Wendi Money, Taya Anthony, and Tonya and Tasha McGary; 6 great grandchildren, Tyker McGary, Kaleb Anthony, Kylee and Kaden Olson, and Shae and Taylor Money; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; sisters, Goldie Mavarakis, Agnes Singer, Jean Mock, and Wilma Chesney; brothers, George Williams and Richard Gibbons.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8pm Thursday, October 26, 2000 at Kane Funeral Home. Funeral Serviced will be 11am Friday, October 27, 2000 at First Congregational Church with Reverend Bob Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the Elks Cemetery.

Lee worked as a secretary during the years before she met and married John H. Schwerma on June 9, 1984, in Billings, MT. John was in the military and they lived in Texas and S. Dakota before he retired and they returned to Billings. They eventually purchased property near Roundup. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading and helping John with his flea market business. She was a member of Bull Mountain Community Church in Roundup.
Preceded in death by parents and two step fathers.
