Frank Krezelok

Memorial services for Frank Krezelok, 87, of Banner will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Kane Funeral Home with the Rev. Marty Rostad officiating. Mr. Krezelok died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2006, in Sheridan Manor. Cremation has taken place. Mr. Krezelok was born Oct. 21, 1919, in Sheridan to Mike and Hedwik (Rucki) Krezelok. He married Enid Brundage on Feb. 14, 1942, in Sheridan. He ranched on Piney Creek all his life. He enjoyed playing cards, jokes, sports, especially baseball, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Jerry; three sisters; and a brother. Survivors include his wife; a son, John of Banner; a daughter, Virginia Watt of Buffalo; two sisters, Mary Meich of Sheridan and Margaret Ellenwood of Banner; a brother, Joe of Greybull; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to benefit Alzheimer's research in care of Tara Keep, First Federal Savings Bank, P.O. Box 6007, Sheridan, WY 82801.

Mervin D. Johnson

Mervin D. Johnson 67, of Watford City, N.D., died Monday, Oct. 23, 2006, in McKenzie County Hospital after a battle with cancer. He was father of Brenda Stoner of Sheridan. Funeral services were this morning at First Lutheran Church in Watford City with the Rev. Chris Montgomery officiating. Burial was in Schafer cemetery. Arrangements were with Fulkerson Funeral Home. Mr. Johnson was born July 8, 1939, in Watford City to Elvin and Marietta (McLucas) Johnson. He grew up on the family ranch in McKenzie County and attended the Foreman country school. He was a 1959 graduate of Watford City High School. After graduation, he worked for his uncle and later in the oil field as a derrick hand on a work-over rig. He married Arlene Blegen on Aug. 5, 1961, in the Lutheran Church in Tioga, N.D. Mr. Johnson ranched until 2004, when he retired. He enjoyed hunting, camping, boating, fishing, gardening, visiting his children and grandchildren, and family reunions. He restored old tractors and did other mechanical work. He belonged to First Lutheran Church of Watford City and was a member of North Dakota Stockmen's Association for 33 years. He was preceded in death by a son, Terrence. Survivors include his wife; two other daughters, Corene Nelson of Frederick, Colo., and Arlys Frazier of Burlington, N.D.; a son, Zane of Mesa, Ariz.; a brother, Eldin of Fairview, Mont.; two sisters, Gail Schatz of Elgin, N.D., and Sharian Turnquist of Watford City; and 12 grandchildren.

Marianne Legerski

Funeral services for Marianne Legerski, 79, of Sheridan will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Kane Funeral Home with the Rev. Ken Doolin officiating. Mrs. Legerski died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2006, in Sheridan Manor. She was born July 9, 1927, in Upton to Wray and Leora (Hallowell) Case. The family moved to Sheridan when she was 6 years old. She was a graduate of Sheridan High School. She married Frank Legerski on July 6, 1952, in Sheridan. She was in charge of cleaning at First Interstate Bank for almost 20 years. She won a trip to Hawaii from Brown Swiss Dairy in 1982. She enjoyed being a homemaker and spending time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Worth, and a grandson. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Marilyn Oryall of Sheridan; two sons, Steve Legerski of Sheridan and Carl Worth of Haxton, Colo.; a sister, Nadine Zowada of Buffalo; two brothers, Dawson Case of Ranchester and Thomas Case of Sheridan; and four grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Sheridan Dog & Cat Shelter in care of Tara Keep at First Federal Savings Bank, P.O. Box 6007, Sheridan, WY 82801.

Irl Franklin Maxwell

Sheridan native Irl Franklin Maxwell, 74, of Casper died Monday, Oct. 23, 2006, in Wyoming Medical Center. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Oregon Trail State Veterans cemetery in Evansville with Chaplain Ellis Kaster from Wyoming Medical Center officiating. Burial will be with military honors by the Natrona County United Veterans Council and the Wyoming National Guard. Arrangements are with Newcomer Family Funeral Home. Mr. Maxwell was born Feb. 7, 1932, in Sheridan to James Alfred and Blanche (Stallings) Maxwell. He grew up and attended schools in Sheridan. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served with the 300th Armored Field Artillery from Wyoming in Korea. He was discharged as a corporal. He married Gloria Bettini on June 8, 1952, in Sterling, Colo. He worked for Petroleum Inc. for 30 years. He was a life member of the Moose and Elks in Scottsbluff, Neb., a member of the American Legion in Kimball, Neb., a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9439 in Casper, and a life member of the amateur trap shooter association and Rocky Mountain Gun Club. He was 600 short of 100, 000 targets. Mr. Maxwell was a member of the Natrona County United Veterans' Council and the military order of Saint Barbara. He enjoyed fly-fishing and hunting. He was preceded in death by a son, James Irl; a brother, Dale; and one grandson. Survivors include his wife and son, Tom, both of Casper; two brothers, Linn of Sheridan and Leroy of Corona, Calif.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

James Rodney Roberts

Viewing for James Rodney Roberts, 83, of Sheridan will begin at 7 p.m. Friday in the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the church with Rick Beld and Joel Hendricksen officiating. Burial will be in Sheridan Municipal cemetery. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Mr. Roberts died Monday, Oct. 23, 2006, at his residence. He was born Oct. 10, 1923, in Crook County to James E. and Ida (Richie) Roberts. He attended school in Hulett until 14, when he went to work in the lumber business for a brother and brother-in-law. He married Ruth Stewart on Nov. 27, 1940, in Chamberlain, S.D. They lived near Hulett for two years, then moved near Chamberlain, where Mr. Roberts farmed and ranched for his father-in-law. He went to work for the Army Corps of Engineers at Big Bend Dam in 1966. He worked for the Corps of Engineers for 31 years, until 1997, when he retired. A member of Old Apostolic Lutheran Church, he enjoyed being with family and friends. He was preceded in death by six brothers, six sisters, an infant son and three grandsons. Survivors include his wife; four sons, Archie of Sturgis, S.D., Clayton of Chamberlain, Leon of Spearfish, S.D., and Val of Brush Prairie, Wash.; four sisters, Irene Winkler and Sally Stewart, both of Sheridan, Sandy Fordyce of Kalama, Wash., and IlenaHallstrom of North East, Md.; 48 grandchildren; more than 100 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Old Apostolic Lutheran Church.

Valerie E. Gleissner

Valerie E. Gleissner, 61, of Sheridan died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2006, at her residence. Visitation will be 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Friday at Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday in the Elks Section of Sheridan Municipal cemetery with the Rev. Peter James officiating.

Marianne Legerski

Marianne Legerski, 79, of Sheridan died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2006, in Sheridan Manor. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Kane Funeral Home with the Rev. Ken Doolin officiating. Gerald Roy Hoffer

Gerald Roy Hoffer, 94, of Sheridan died Monday, Oct. 23, 2006, in Westview Health Care Center. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Assembly of God Church in Glendive, Mont., with the Rev. Don Fercho officiating. Burial will be in Dawson Memorial cemetery in Glendive under direction of Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home of Glendive. Local arrangements are with Kane Funeral Home. Mr. Hoffer was born Sept. 5, 1912, in Nappanee, Ind., to Arthur and Maude (Freed) Hoffer. He married Laura I. Nissley on June 13, 1937, in Nappanee. They moved to Glendive in 1958, and he worked at the GTA Elevator, farmed and was a minister. The Hoffers moved to Sheridan in 2000. Mrs. Hoffer died in January 2003. Survivors include five sons, Paul J. of Cottonwood, Ariz., David R. of Anderson, Ind., Daniel L. of Billings, Laurel Leo of Sheridan and Quinton J. of Sulphur Springs, Ark.; a sister, Maxine Schwartz, and brother, Buell, both of Nappanee; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Glen Leland Peterson

Funeral services for Glen Leland Peterson, 64, of Story will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Kane Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Tromble officiating. Burial will be in Story cemetery. Mr. Peterson died Sunday, Oct. 22, 2006, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital. He was born Aug. 4, 1942, in Greeley, Colo., to Carl R. and Evelyn (Reinhold) Peterson. He graduated from Eaton (Colo.) High School and served with the Colorado National Guard from 1964-70. He spent his life in farming. He married Darla Collins on Jan. 25, 1992, in Greeley. They enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with family and friends. Mr. Peterson was a lifelong Oklahoma Sooner fan. Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Glenda Donoho of Platteville, Colo., Tammi Dickey and Andrea Peterson, both of Cheyenne Wells, Colo., and Adrienne Chapman of Hillrose, Colo.; two stepsons, Jim Palmer of Elizabeth, Colo., and Steve Palmer of Eaton; his mother of Greeley; a brother, Less of Greeley; and 14 grandchildren. Vila Mae Cuer

Vila Mae Cuer, 75, of Leavenworth, Kan., died Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006, in Billings Clinic. She was mother of Kim Pelesky of Sheridan and Linda Rehder of Ranchester. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Kingsdown (Kan.) Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Jack Divine officiating. Burial will be in Bucklin (Kan.) cemetery under direction of Minnis Mortuary of Bucklin. Mrs. Cuer was born Oct. 31, 1930, in Dodge City, Kan., to Claude and Emma Katherine (Hirt) Ellis. She married James Howard Cuer on Sept. 7, 1952, in Kingsdown. She was a homemaker and a longtime resident of Leavenworth. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Billy Dean, Ronald Dale and Harold Duane Ellis; and one grandson. Survivors also include her husband; a son, Jeff of Bucklin; a brother, Gilbert Ellis of Kingsdown; a sister, Norma June Scheufler of West Lafayette, Ind.; and six grandchildren. James R. Roberts

James R. Roberts, 83, of Sheridan died Monday, Oct. 23, 2006, at his residence. Visitation will be 5 p.m. Friday at Old Apostolic Lutheran Church on state Highway 335. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the church with Rick Beld and Joel Hendricksen officiating. Burial will be in Sheridan Municipal cemetery under direction of Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Eileen D. Farman

Funeral Mass for Eileen D. Farman, 89, of Sheridan will be 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Name Catholic Church with the Rev. Ron Stolcis officiating. Arrangements are with Kane Funeral Home. Mrs. Farman died Friday, Oct. 20, 2006, in Westview Health Care Center. She was born Feb. 18, 1917, in Logan, Iowa, to Nova and Loy Roush. When she was 3 months old, the family homesteaded 50 miles south of Gillette in the Pumpkin Butte area. The family moved to Sheridan when she was about 6 years old, then returned to the homestead after she finished grade school. She attended her first year of high school in Casper, then transferred to Gillette for her final three years. She graduated from Campbell County High School. She married Eldon Farman on the night she received her diploma.4 She enrolled in hairdresser school in 1962, and she and Mr. Farman owned and operated the Powder Box Salon until 1976. They later worked a small farm on Beaver Creek Road until they retired and moved into town. Mrs. Farman enjoyed the mountains, fishing, rides with her brother, singing with the Sheridanaires, playing rummy cubes, and serving meals and spending time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband on Feb. 3, 1999; a son, Dade; two brothers, Donald Gene and Hadley Roush; and a sister, Juanita Vinke. Survivors include two sons, Nolan and Dane, and a brother, James Bud Roush, all of Sheridan; 10 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. David D. Buss

David D. Buss, 65, of Sheridan died Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital. Cremation has taken place, and no services are planned. Arrangements are with Kane Funeral Home. Mr. Buss was born Dec. 7, 1940, in Sheridan to David I. and Florence (Benedict) Buss. He attended Sheridan High School, where he captained the 1959 state champion basketball team. He graduated in 1959. He attended Sheridan College and Black Hills College, where he earned his teaching degree. His jobs included educator, businessman and salesman. He was employed at Valley Motor Honda at the time of his death. He married Sharon Klinkosh on Aug. 19, 1962. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing cards, camping and discussing politics. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Daren of Riverton and Keven of Cody; a daughter, Jolene Driver of San Angelo, Texas; and six grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Autism Speaks in care of Tara Keep, First Federal Savings Bank, P.O. Box 6007, Sheridan, WY 82801.

Kenneth Gove

BUFFALO - Kenneth Gove, 87, of Buffalo died Sunday, Oct. 22, 2006, in Johnson County Health Care Center. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Adams Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tom Saur officiating. Visitation is 1-9 p.m. today and 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Chamois, Mo., with services there to be announced. Memorials may be made to Grace Fellowship Church in care of Adams Funeral Home, 351 N. Adams, Buffalo, WY 82834.

Glen Peterson

Glen Peterson, 64, of Story died Sunday, Oct. 22, 2006, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Kane Funeral Home with Tim Tromble officiating. Alda Lucille (Johnson) Hills

Funeral services for Alda Lucille (Johnson) Hills, 90, of Sheridan will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Waubay, S.D. Burial will be in Lakewood cemetery in Waubay. Local arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Mrs. Hills died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006, in Sheridan Manor. She was born May 22, 1916, in East Granite Falls, Minn., to John Martin and Alice Marie (Swenson) Johnson. She grew up and attended school in Granite Falls, where she graduated from high school in 1934. She worked as a clerk in grocery stores and the Ben Franklin Store and also for the Granite Falls City Recreation Department. A member of United Lutheran Church, she taught Sunday school there for eight years. She married Cresent Daniel Hills on Oct. 24, 1942, and they made their home in Waubay, where they owned and operated a Gambles hardware store until retiring in 1971. The couple were members of Our Savior Lutheran Church, and Mrs. Hills was a Sunday school superintendent for 15 years, taught Sunday school, served as dean of girls at Pickeral Lake Bible Camp for 16 years, was acting adviser/leader of the Luther League, and held several offices within Lutheran Church organizations. She served a term as district president of the Women's Mission Federation of the Lutheran Free Church and held offices in the Women's Christian Temperance Union. She was a member of Our Savior's Church Council until 1991. She planned and hosted six reunions of the Hills and Johnson families in the late 1990s through 2001. She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers and a sister. Survivors include a daughter, Ruth Ann Tollin; a son, Daniel; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 135 Crescent Drive, Sheridan, WY 82801.
