She came to Gillette, WY, as a small child. She attended country schools and graduated from Campbell County High School. She worked several places before moving to Denver where she worked with Anderman Oil Co. for over forty years. She moved to Sheridan in 1995 to be near family.

Jessie I. Morrow Age 95 of Sheridan, WY
Died Monday, December 11, 2000, in Westview Health Care Center, Sheridan
Born December 26, 1904, in Heartwell, Nebraska
Parents - Mervin & Matilda (Stahl) Mathers
She grew up and graduated high school in Nebraska. She attended nursing school in Hastings, NE and Wichita, Kansas graduating with her nursing degree. Jessie married William Brommer on December 25, 1927, in Smith Center, Kansas. They moved to Sheridan in 1928 and resided here the remainder of their lives. Mr. Brommer died in 1951. Jessie married Paul Morrow on February 14, 1954. Mr. Morrow died in 1961. Better known to her friends as “Jimmie”, she enjoyed fishing, flowers, gardening, playing cards with friends and loved being with her grandchildren. She was a 50 year member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Margaret Myers, 75, of Sheridan, passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2000 at Westview Health Care Center after a long battle with cancer. On September 6, 1925, Margaret was born to Grace Doran and Kay Jorgensen in New York, New York. In 1943, she graduated from Sheridan High School and then went on to Cadet Nurses training where she graduated in 1946 as a Registered Nurse.
Margaret was aloving woman of life, as well as a kind and gentle loving mother. She loved to help anyone that asked enjoying volunteering. She enjoyed gardening, especially planting Blue Spruce trees, visiting antique malls, fishing and spending time with her grandchildren. She was seen as a free spirit and was up for any travel and adventure.
Her son, Bill Myers, of Sheridan, preceded her in death. She is survived by one brother, Charles Jorgensen of California; four daughters, Linda Pruett of Sheridan, Patti Martini of South Dakota, Debbie Martini of Ft. Worth, Texas, Marjorie Hoffman of Reno, Nevada; two sons, James Myers of Phoenix, Arizonia, Chuch Myers of Sheridan; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9pm Tuesday, October 17, 2000 at Kane Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10am Wednesday, October 18, 2000, at Kane Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ray Clark officiating. Interment to follow at Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. Donations may be made to the charity of choice on behalf of Margaret Myers.
Dorothy J. Nelson Age 91 of Sheridan, WY
Died Sunday, September 24, 2000, in Westview Health Care Center, Sheridan
Born September 3, 1909, in Susanatnal, Russia
Parents - Alexander & Amelia (Hergett) Loeber
She came to the United States as a young child and grew up in Park City, MT. She married John Baker in 1931. They lived in Clearmont, WY, and were later divorced. On August 7, 1938, Dorothy married Carl Nelson in hardin, MT. They moved to the Sheridan area in 1940 were Dorothy lived while Carl was in the service during WWII. They moved to the ranch on Lower Praire Dog Creek in 1946. They sold the ranch and moved into Sheridan in 1965. Mr. Nelson died in 1970. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, the Wakely School board, Sheridan Cowbells and the Sheridan County election board for 19 years. Dorothy enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and her family.
Preceded in death by one son Robert Baker, sister Ann Roebling and one grandson Robert Baker Jr.

Mary I. Nelson, 75, of Sheridan passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2000 at her residence. Visitation will be Sunday, September 10, 2000 from 5pm to 8pm at Kane Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2pm Monday, September 11, 2000 at Kane Funeral Home with Pastor Alan Ziegler officiating. Interment will follow in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.
Ruth Schweder Nelson Age 94 of Sheridan, WY
Died Monday, September 18, 2000, in Sheridan Manor
Born November 14, 1905, in Lead, South Dakota
Parents - Henry and Alma Schweder
The family moved to Sheridan area in 1911 homesteading east of Wyarno on the middle fork of Badger Creek. Ruth attended schools in Sheridan and graduated from High School in 1926. She was employed by the R.D.E. Pierce family of Parkman to tutor their three children. In 1928, Ruth entered nurses training at Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County and graduated in 1931. She was a private duty nurse until 1942 when she enlisted in the Army Nurse Corps at Cheyenne, WY. She transferred into the Army Air Force and was then stationed at Tinker Field with the 4132nd AAF Base Unit in Garden City, Kansas. Ruth accepted a supervisory position at Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County upon her discharge from the Air Force in 1946 serving until 1956 as second floor supervisor. In 1956 she married Nels A. Nelson, SR. (then president of N.A. Nelson Construction Co. ) and resigned from the hospital. Ruth was very active in the community all her life as a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, the Hospital Auxiliary, Sheridan Women's Club and the Sheridan Garden Club. She loved traveling and went on many trips.
Preceded in death by her husband, step-daughters Signora Anderson and Marguerite Presfeldt, step-granddaughter Signora Presfeldt.

She grew up in S. Dakota and graduated high school in Lake Andes, S. Dakota. Shirley married Louis Peter Noecker on January 21, 1940, in Rapid City, SD. They lived in S. Dakota, California, Utah and Gillette, WY, before coming to Sheridan in 1955. She focused her life on her family. Shirley enjoyed sewing, drawing & painting and decorating.
