Kevin Richard Kuzara, 36, formerly of Bellevue, Nebraska passed away Thursday, August 24, 2000 in Surabaya, Indonesia. He was born December 7, 1963 in Long Beach, California to Richard and Cecilia Kuzara.
He attended Sheridan College, the University of Oldenburg in Germany, and graduated from the University of Wyoming with degrees in the Sciences and in German.
For the past 3 years, he was employed with Surbaya International School as a teacher. On July 24, 1998 he married Rita Kustinigsih in Surabaya. Kevin was a member of Amnesty International and enjoyed photography, deep sea diving, mountain biking, hiking, camping, fishing, traveling, learning new languages, and pencil sketching.
Kevin spent 7 summers working with boys at a Jewish youth camp in the Catskill Mountains in New York. Prior to teaching in Indonesia, Kevin taught in Olympia, Washington and in Athens, Greece.
Survivors include his wife, Rita; parents, Richard and Cecilia Kuzara of Sheridan; sister Deborah A. Kuzara of Littleton, Colorado; brother Byron S. Kuzara of Portland, Oregon; grandparents, Mrs. Pauline Kuzara or Sheridan and Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Aksamit of Ranchester. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Stanley Kuzara.
Funeral services will be 10am Friday, September 1, 2000 at Holy Name Catholic Church with Father Cliff Jacobsen officiating. Interment will follow in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.
Conrad F. Larson, 91, of Buffalo passed away Monday October 16, 2000 at the VA Medical Center in Sheridan. Funeral Services will be 1pm Friday, October 20, 2000 in the Oregon Trail State Cemetery in Evansville, Wyoming. Kane Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mary G. Laya, nee Kumor, 91, passed away Sunday, August 13th, 200 at the Fairview Baptist Home in Downers Grove, Illinois. Visitation was held at Hallowell and James Funeral Home in Downers Grover, Illinois on Monday, August 14, 2000. Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10am Thursday August 17, 2000 at Holy Name Church with Father Eugene Sullivan officiating. Interment will follow in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. Memorials in memory of Mrs. Laya may be designated to the Fairview Baptist Home, 250 Village Drive, Downers Grove, Illinois 60516.
Mrs. Laya was born on September 22, 1908 in Dietz Wyoming the Daughter of Edward and Agnes Presonal Kumor. She graduated from Sheridan High School with the class of 1927. Mrs. Laya then continued her education at the Chicago Business College. In 1927 she started teaching rural Sheridan County School in Wyarno, Wyoming fro two years. She worked fro Raynot Lithographers from June 1950 to July 1959, and on September 9, 1973 she went to work for Inland Steel Co. for thirteen years before her retirement. On August 30, 1930 she was united in marriage to John Frank Laya at St. Bruno Church. He preceded her in death on January 30, 1985. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her sister Julia and her brother Raymond.
Survivors include her three sons; Robert E. Laya and wife Sally, Lawrence Laya and wife Marilyn, and Allen Laya and wife Nancy, her two sisters, Kaye and Rose, her grandchildren, Victoria, Russell, Stephen, Karen, Jeffrey, Diane, Shannon, Daniel, and Stacy, and 12 great grandchildren.
Frances Buszkiewic Legerski, 74, passed away at the Sheridan County memorial Hospital Wednesday August 2, 2000. On March 28, 1926 Frances was born at Monarch, Wyoming the Daughter of Ignace and Anna Mates Buszkiewic. Frances was united in marriage to Paul
Legerski at Monarch, Wyoming on April 23, 1949. Paul preceded her in death in 1994. France enjoyed her family and friends, her beloved pet Heidi, all her knew her, loved her for their own special reasons. She loved life simple things. She took the time to stop and enjoy what life had to
offer her. She will be missed. Frances was a member of Holy name Catholic Church. Survivors include two sons Allan Legerski and Larry and his wife Carrie Legerski all of Sheridan, Wyoming. Two brothers John Buszkiewic of Prairie Dog Creek, Wyoming and George and his wife Rose of Ash Creek, Wyoming. Also surviving are three grandchildren Jenny Legerski, and Ashley and Joe Bocek. Graveside services will be 10am Friday August 4, 2000 at the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery with Deacon Joe Kristufek officiating. Patricia Lippard Age 61 of Big Horn, WY

She grew up in Wyoming. She worked as a cashier for Safeway Stores in Cheyenne, WY, for many years. She married Darrel Lippard in March 5, 1971, in Cheyenne. Darrel died in 1994. She later moved to Sheridan to be near her daughter. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, sewing, crocheting, reading, country music and doll collecting. She loved being with her family, grandchildren and her many friends. She was a Jehovah's Witness.

Nora M. McCallister Age 89 of Sheridan, WY
Died Monday, December 18, 2000, in Sheridan Manor

She grew up and graduated high school in Pennsylvania. She competed in the 1920 Olympics in Los Angeles. She married Edward McCallister on October 9, 1935, in Cheyenne, WY. They lived in several placed during his military career. She worked in a factory during WWII and at other government jobs in different placed. Mr. McCallister died in 1976 in Ohio. She then lived in several placed before moving to Sheridan in 1993. She has been a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Iowa.

Agnes Mentock
1918 - 2000
Agnes Mentock passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2000, in Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County.
Viewing will be on Friday until 6:30pm. Funeral service will be 2:00pm on Saturday from St. Peter's Episcopal Church with the Rev. David Duprey officiating. Interment will be in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements are with Ferries Funeral Home.
Agnes was born on July 10, 1918, to Albert and Norah (Bowkett) Woodhead in the town of Carniville, which was located 7 miles north of Sheridan, Wyoming. She attended local schools and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1936.
On December 13, 1941, she married Walter R. Mentock in the near by town of Hardin, Montana. They had three sons, Robert (Bruce), Joe and Gary. Agnes’ greatest love was her family and she always put them first and herself second. Besides being a devoted wife and caring and loving mother, she loved to teach young children. She has touched the lives of all the children in her surrounding families and was a role model and sounding board for many of them as they grew into adulthood. She was and will always be loved by all the people she came into contact with. She also loved fishing and camping in the Big Horn Mountains. She enjoyed rides in the surrounding countryside and always marveled at the abundance of wildlife. All these things were important to her because she was able to do them with her family.
Agnes was preceded in death by her parents, husband Walter, eldest son Bruce, a brother William Woodhead and a sister Annie Harrison.
Agnes is survived by her sons, Joe and wife Sherry of Sheridan, Gary and wife Mary of Sheridan ; grandson James Mentock, Kansas City, MO; granddaughters Katelynn Mentock, Melanie Mentock & Christina Hansford all of Sheridan; great granddaughter Erinn Hansford and great grandson Drew Hansford; sisters Elaine Moon of Sheridan & Edie Ball of Scappoose, Oregon; sisters-in-law Josephine Atkinson, Mary Mentock & Winne Woodhead all of Sheridan; brother-in-law John (Bula) Mentock of Sheridan; and several nieces and nephews.

John "Bula" Mentock, 94, lifetime Sheridan resident passed away Sunday, September 3, 2000 at Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County. He was born October 18, 1905 in Dietz, Wyoming to Josef and Jadwiga Pierog Mentock.
He worked for coal miners for 32 years. After coal mining, John went to work at Big Horn Beverage as a driver salesman for 26 years before he retired. John enjoyed fishing, gardening, and hunting. He was a member of Holy Name Church, United Mine Workers, and Eagles Lodge #186.
He is survived by a sister, Joshepine Atkinson of Sheridan; and two nieces and six nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Andrew "Splitz", Mike and Walter "Barber" Mentock; sisters, Anna Flockhart and Mary Adams; and lifelong companion, Mary Boyak.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 7, 2000 from 5-7pm at Kane Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 8, 2000 at 10am at Kane Funeral Home with Father Cliff Jacobsen officiating. Interment will follow in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.

Chasity Dawn Marie Miller, daughter of Kristine L. Schonenfeldt and Christopher R. Miller of Sheridan, was stillborn, Wednesday, October 4, 2000 at Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County.
Services will be held at 10am on Friday, October 6, 2000 at Champion Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Montgomery officiating. Interment will follow in the baby section of the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.
Survivors include her parents; her twin brother and sister, Aaron S. Schoenfeldt and Ashley L. Schenfeldt of the family home; her grandparents, Lee and Terry Scogin of Sheridan, Wyoming and Steve and LaDonna of Imlay, Nevada; and her great grandparents; Jerry Scogin of Worland, Wyoming, Alvin and Dawn of Imlay, Nevada, Loraine Guthrie of Kentucky, and Kenneth R. Humphrey of Owensboro, Kentucky.
