Iva Mae `Sissy' Stout-Kilby-Stout
A time of remembrance for Iva Mae Sissy Stout-Kilby-Stout, 43, of Sheridan will be 3-5 p.m. Friday at Kane Funeral Home. A service will be at Tie Flume at a later date. Those interested attending are asked to call Chuck Stout at 751-1830. Mrs. Stout died in her sleep Sunday, Oct. 2, 2005. She was born in Winchester, Va., on May 15, 1962, to Charles Owen and Lottie Stout. Her father was in the Air Force, and the family traveled around the United States, Europe and the Orient. She finished high school and attended college in San Antonio. She enjoyed hiking and spelunking in her younger years. She moved to Sheridan in 1997 to help her brother. Her father died in 1977. Survivors include two sons, Matthew and Joshua; her mother; a brother, Charles; and a half sister, Linda.
Ruth Bennick
Funeral services for Sheridan native Ruth Bennick, 79, of Gillette were this morning at First Baptist Church in Gillette with the Rev. Mark Jervis officiating. Burial was in Mount Pisgah cemetery with arrangements by Stevenson Wilson Funeral Home. Mrs. Bennick died Sunday, Oct. 2, 2005, in Campbell County Memorial Hospital of natural causes. She was born Aug. 9, 1926, in Sheridan to Leslie and Lennie (Teague) Braun. She grew up in Sheridan and graduated from Sheridan High School. She worked as a dental assistant. She married
Junior Lewis Bennick on April 14, 1946, in Sheridan. They made their home in Gillette. She was a full-time homemaker and mother until her children were in school, then she worked part time for Hunter's Drug and, later, The Hope Chest. She enjoyed travel, spending time with her family at their cabin in the Big Horn Mountains and, in later years, reading and doing crossword puzzles. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband; a sister, Helen Scott; and a brother, Alan Braun. Survivors include four daughters, Gay Robertson, Margo Clements, Toby Montgomery and Leslie Dowell, all of Gillette; a son, Greg of Gillette; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Edward L. Watts
Edward L. Watts, 79, of Buffalo died Monday, Oct. 3, 2005, in Sheridan VA Medical Center. He was father of Rebecca Spellman of Arvada. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Adams Funeral Home in Buffalo with the Revs. Doug Stahl and Dennis Steele officiating. Visitation will be 1-9 p.m. Friday and 8-9:30 a.m. Saturday in Adams Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Watts was born Feb. 8, 1926, in South Charleston, W.Va., to Raymond and Effie Maude Watts. He grew up in South Charleston and graduated from South Charleston High School. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1944 and served with an amphibious unit in the South Pacific doing underwater demolition during World War II. He also served in the Korean War. He was discharged in 1951. He married
Elizabeth Clark on Aug. 5, 1945. They made their home in South Charleston. After service in the Navy, Mr. Watts worked in FMC Corp.'s chemical division in South Charleston. The family moved to Buffalo in 1967. Mr. Watts later started Watts Construction there. Mrs. Watts died in October 1992. Mr. Watts married
Lillian Dresbach on July 14, 1994, in Billings. They resided in Buffalo. Mr. Watts was a hunting guide every year until 2002. He was a member and past commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars and held state and national posts. He also belonged to the American Legion, National Rifle Association, North American Fishing Club and Wildlife Forever. A lifelong member of the Church of Christ, he enjoyed playing the guitar, fiddle and mandolin. He won many state awards for his mandolin-playing. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time on his daughter and son-in-law's ranch, where he helped with ranch work. In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by a brother and two infant sisters. In addition to his daughter, survivors include his wife; two sons, William of Denver and Edward of Gillette; a stepson, Max Bese of Drummond, Okla.; two stepdaughters, Rita Scheihing and Niki Powell, both of Guthrie, Okla.; a brother, Harold of St. Albans, W.Va.; three sisters, Doris Buckalew of Nitro, W.Va., Nadine Russell of Parkersburg, W.Va., and Betty Arlene Wilson of South Charleston; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. William Lloyd Malli
Funeral services for William Lloyd Malli, 69, of Arvada will be 2 p.m. Friday in the Arvada School gymnasium, not Arvada-Clearmont High School as reported in Monday's Sheridan Press. Mr. Malli died Saturday, Oct. 1, 2005, as the result of an accident.
William LeRoy Troxler
Former Sheridan resident William LeRoy Troxler, 86, of Salt Lake City died Friday, Sept. 30, 2005, in Salt Lake City. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Little Cottonwood 16th Ward Chapel at 6350 S. Rodeo Lane in Salt Lake City. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Drive, and 9:45-10:45 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. Mr. Troxler was born Feb. 16, 1919, to Frank Troxler Jr. and Victoria Augusta Bergstrom Troxler in Salt Lake City. He graduated from South High School and attended the University of Utah. He married
Norma Deane Brandley on Jan. 2, 1942, in Pocatello, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple in 1955. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in India during World War II. He was a meteorologist and worked for the U.S. Weather Bureau in Missoula, Mont., and in Sheridan for 23 years before retiring in Salt Lake City. While in Sheridan, he gave daily radio broadcasts, was Lions Club president, a member of the YMCA board, and branch president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was preceded in death by his wife. Survivors include four children, Susan Holt of Salt Lake City, Joel William of Bozeman, Mont., Julie Muelleck of Fresno, Calif., and Kathleen Turner of Paradise, Calif.; 20 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. William Lloyd Malli
William Lloyd Malli, 69, of Arvada died Saturday, Oct. 1, 2005, in a four-wheeler accident in Arvada. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday in the Arvada-Clearmont High School gym with Charlie Firnekas officiating. Visitation will be 1-9 p.m. Thursday in Adams Funeral Home Chapel in Buffalo. Burial will be in Arvada cemetery with graveside services. Mr. Malli was born Jan. 12, 1936, in Sheridan to John and Ada Malli. He attended a one-room school in Croton until seventh grade, when he attended junior high school in Arvada. He was a 1954 graduate of Arvada High School and worked on ranches in the Arvada area and for the railroad. He married
Carol Ann Robinson on Feb. 25, 1955, in Rapid City. They made their home on the Ed Fitch Ranch east of Arvada, later moving to the Denton Floyd Ranch for several years. They bought a ranch three miles north of Arvada in 1967. Mr. Malli owned and operated Wm Lloyd Malli Trucking, which he started in 1975 as a cow-hauling operation. He later expanded the business to include construction. He enjoyed his work and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was an avid basketball fan and enjoyed rodeos. He competed in team and jackpot ropings in local rodeos, followed professional bull riding, and was a Denver Broncos fan. He was preceded in death by a brother and an infant son. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Don, Roger and Mark, all of Arvada; a daughter, Joni of Denver; and five grandchildren. Marie A. Ludecke
Funeral services for Marie A. Ludecke, 97, of Sheridan will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Doug Melius and the Rev. Brian Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Sheridan Masonic 8 cemetery. Visitation will be 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday at Kane Funeral Home. Mrs. Ludecke died Friday, Sept. 30, 2005, at Sheridan Manor. She was born March 6, 1908, in Neufra-Rottweil, Germany, to Jacob and Johanna Dreher. She came to the United States when she was 17, arriving at Ellis Island on June 12, 1925. She came to Sheridan to join an uncle who lived here, and she worked for the Moncrieffe family on its polo ranch. he married
Paul R. Ludecke on Aug. 20, 1928, at the Sheridan Presbyterian Church. They lived in Sheridan. The Ludeckes managed the Arrowhead Lodge and owned and operated the Dutch Lunch and Bar on Main Street in downtown Sheridan from 1947-65. Mrs. Ludecke also worked at the Western Coffee Shop at Bear Lodge and the Golden Steer and cooked the Stag Dinners for the Shriners for 11 years before retiring. Mr. Ludecke died in 1980. She was the oldest member of Sheridan's First Presbyterian Church and the member with the longest tenure, since she joined the church in the 1920s. She was a member of the Daughters of the Nile, Naomi Chapter 2 Order of the Eastern Star, Social Order of the Beauceant No. 131, the Sheridan Garden Club and the Pioneers. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters, a stepsister, a son, Otto, a daughter, Elizabeth Belsly, and a grandson. Survivors include a daughter, Johanna Gostas of Sheridan; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Jaspher Nixon
Jaspher Nixon, 9 months, of Sheridan died Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2005, at home. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at Kane Funeral Home, followed by private family burial at Sheridan Municipal cemetery. He was born Dec. 14, 2004, to Jayme Nixon and Antoinette Willenbring. He was preceded in death by a grandmother, Lori Nixon. Survivors include his parents and a sister, Sameriaha, all of Sheridan; grandparents Dave and Jackie Kramer of Kenosha, Wis.; and great-grandparents Ed and Barbara Johnson of Missoula, Mont.
Pearl Faycosh
Former Sheridan resident Pearl J. Faycosh, 78, of Miles City, Mont., died Monday, Nov. 28, 2005, in Holy Rosary Hospital. Cremation has taken place, and the family plans private disposition of cremains later. Arrangements are with Bullis-Graves Memorial Chapel of Miles City. Mrs. Faycosh was born Oct. 8, 1927, in Tacoma, Wash., to Antone and Jacqueline Dragovich Kuljus. She grew up and attended schools in Tacoma. She married
Joseph Faycosh on Jan. 4, 1947, in San Francisco. The couple made their home in California, then in Colorado, where Mr. Faycosh worked for the postal service and the Union Pacific railroad. They moved to Sheridan in 1970. Mr. Faycosh worked for PKS, and Mrs. Faycosh was active with community organizations and raising her children. She was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church here for 33 years. The couple moved to Miles City in 2003. Mrs. Faycosh was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Elizabeth Clark; and a sister, Rosemary. Survivors include a daughter, Ana Powers of Gillette; three sons, Joe of Laramie, Gary of Florida, and Jeff of Miles City; 11 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
Albert Julius Bitters
Graveside services for Albert Julius Bitters, 88, of Sheridan will be 2 p.m. Friday in Sheridan Municipal cemetery with Barry Benth officiating. Arrangements are with Kane Funeral Home. Mr. Bitters died Saturday, Nov. 26, 2005, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital. He was born in Hoisington, Kan., on Dec. 11, 1916, to Peter and Catherine Deines Bitters. He lived in Fort Collins, Colo., Torrington and Ranchester before moving to Sheridan. He worked on ranches and spent a short time in the Army, receiving an honorable discharge. He worked at Boeing Aircraft and the coal mines in Monarch. He married
Georgia Lee Burgess on Nov. 8, 1948, in Billings. He worked at Mydland Dairy, then the couple moved to Sioux Falls, S.D. They returned to Sheridan in 1950, and he returned to work for Mydland Dairy. He later worked at Sheridan VA Medical Center, from which he retired after 30 years. He was a member of American Legion Post 7. He and his wife traveled to Hawaii, Europe and Canada as well as the lower 48 states. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and snowmobiles as well as fishing, gardening and playing keno. He was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Koch, and a sister, Irene Day. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Erna McClure and Marlene Schultz; six sisters, Rose Rotellini and Helen Showers, both of Sheridan, Elfreda Williams of Rocklin, Calif., Gladys Madron of Buffalo, Florence Weibel of Worland and Adeline Clark of Moab, Utah; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. James Bentzen
Memorial services for James Bentzen, 76, of Sheridan will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter's Episcopal Church with the Rev. David Duprey officiating. A reception will follow at the church. He was born April 14, 1929, in Oakland, Calif., to Ann E. (Tolman) Bentzen and Lyle W. Bentzen. He married
Joan Elaine Sidie on June 11, 1952, in Grinnell, Iowa. He graduated from Coe College in 1952 and joined the Air Force in August 1952. He served as a pilot during the Korean War. He contracted polio, which forced him to retire after two years. He was the oldest known living polio survivor within the VA system. He was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, where he served as a Steven's minister, several terms on the church vestry and as a board member of the Endowment Committee. He was instrumental in erecting the American Legion Monument, according to family. Survivors include his wife; a son, Scott of Sheridan; a daughter, Pamela Woodward of Sheridan; a sister, Natalie of Lafayette, Colo.; a brother, William of Tucson, Ariz.; and three grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Sheridan VAMC Hospice or St. Peter's Episcopal Church for organ pipes.

BUFFALO - Katharin M. Katie Wilson, 87, of Buffalo died Monday, Nov. 28, 2005, in Johnson County Health Care Center. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Adams Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joana Peterson
Sheridan native Joana Peterson, 62, of Green River died Saturday, Nov. 12, 2005, at her residence following a sudden illness. Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service was Nov. 18 at Vase Flaming Gorge Chapel in Green River. Mrs. Peterson was born Nov. 6, 1943, in Sheridan to Steven and Francis Johnson Takach. She had lived in Green River since 1990 and was a member of the Green River Symphony Orchestra. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Rockwell Peterson, and a brother, Patrick Takach. Survivors include her mother of Sheridan; two sons, James R. Peterson II of Vail, Colo., and Robert B. Parry III of Madison, Wis.; a daughter, Kiersten Peterson of Milwaukee; four brothers, David and Walter Takach, both of Albuquerque, N.M., Eugene Takach of Bakersfield, Calif., and Neil Takach of Springdale, Utah; a sister, Wauna Lou Paulson of Laurel, Mont.; and two grandchildren.
Myrna Lois Ingersoll
Funeral services for Myrna Lois Ingersoll, 59, of Sheridan will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Kane Funeral Home with the Rev. Scott Lee officiating. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs. Ingersoll died Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2005, at her residence. She was born July 2, 1946, in Sheridan to Lois E. (Kitchel) and Ernest E. Swinyer. She graduated from Sheridan High School in 1965. She was trained as a certified nurses aide and worked at a nursing home. She enjoyed collecting dolls, clowns and water globes, reading, the mountains, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Beverly McElles. Survivors include two daughters, Irene (Trujillo) Gonzalez and Rowena (Trujillo) Aarstad, both of Sheridan; two sons, Steven and David, both of Sheridan; two brothers, Clifford and Ron Swinyer; a sister, Pamela Wegner; and six grandchildren.
Helen Jeanne (Clark) Cates
Rosary for Helen Jeanne (Clark) Cates, 93, of Sheridan will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Kane Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Name Catholic Church with the Rev. Ron Stolcis officiating. Burial will be in Sheridan Elks cemetery. Mrs. Clark died Sunday, Nov. 20, 2005, at Westview Health Care Center. She was born Sept. 1, 1912, in New Haven to Curtis and Jessie Clark. She attended a country school through eighth grade, then lived with a sister while attending high school. After graduating from high school, she moved to Omaha, Neb., where she graduated from Nicholis Senn Hospital as a registered nurse. She worked as a public health nurse until joining the Union Pacific Railroad as a nurse stewardess. She also worked in a doctor's office after World War II. She married

Brian Taylor
Brian Taylor, 16, of Sheridan died Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2005, at his residence. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today at Kane Funeral Home with Troy Trueblood officiating. Cremation will follow. Mr. Taylor was born Dec. 17, 1988, in Sheridan to Bradford and Dee (Streeter) Taylor. He attended Sheridan High School. He enjoyed camping and fishing in the mountains, playing chess, and music. He was preceded in death by one grandmother and two grandfathers. Survivors include his parents of Sheridan; two brothers, Nathan Taylor and Ty Pierce; a sister, Tashina Pierce; four grandparents, Carol Streeter of Buffalo, Lee and Cathy Streeter of Sheridan, and Aly Pierce of Sheridan; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Mary Alice Newbigging
Mary Alice Newbigging, 98, of Sheridan died Thursday, Nov. 10, 2005, in Westview Health Care Center. At her request, cremation has taken place, and a private family service will be later. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home. She was born Aug. 5, 1907, in Kleenburn to Clinton Robert and Ethel Inez (Walker) Ulery. She grew up in the Decker, Mont., and Sheridan areas and attended Taylor, Meade Creek and Sheridan High schools. She married
Bill Newbigging on Sept. 6, 1929, in Sheridan in ceremonies performed by Sheridan County Clerk Slim Hume. She was a homemaker and worked with her husband in their sawmill and building their various rental homes. She enjoyed playing the piano, reading, socializing, making jellies from wild berries, rides in the country, the mountains and fresh flowers. She was preceded in death by her husband and three brothers. Survivors include a daughter, Marcella Woods of Sterling, Alaska; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one step-great-granddaughter; and three great-great-grandchildren.
