Vera Gould - 01/11/05
Memorial services for Vera Goldie Gould, 85, of Gillette were at 10 a.m. today at the Blanche Beck Memorial Chapel at Pioneer Manor with Pioneer Manor chaplain Bob Rudichar officiating.
Ms. Gould died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005, at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home of natural causes.
She was born Sept. 14, 1919, to Claude and Emily (Erickson) Gould in Basin. She was raised and educated in the Basin and Greybull areas.
Upon the completion of her schooling, she moved to Lander. She lived her entire life in Wyoming including Cheyenne, Thermopolis and finally coming to Gillette in the mid-1990s as a resident of Pioneer Manor. She enjoyed being around people and their company.
Ms. Gould is survived by one brother, Walter Gould of Las Cruses, N.M.; five nieces and four nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers.

Mary Green, 51, of Gillette, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005, at Campbell County Memorial Hospital.
Services are pending with Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home.
Carl L. Sullivan - 01/11/05
Visitation for Carl Louis Sullivan, 71, of Gillette, will be at noon Thursday at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel, 1235 Junction Ave. in Sturgis, S.D.
Burial will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis. Military honors will be provided by the Belle Fourche Honor Guard. Friends and family may gather at the funeral chapel prior to leaving for the cemetery.
Mr. Sullivan died Monday, Jan. 10, 2005, at the Fort Meade Veterans Association Hospital of cancer.
He was born Sept. 10, 1933, near White Water, Colo., to Leo Lester and Carrie Elizabeth (Blackman) Sullivan. After graduating from high school, he joined the U.S. Army and served his country honorably in Korea. After his discharge in 1953 he returned to Colorado, where he married Alta Cecelia Tefertiller at Fruita, Colo.
He was primarily employed as a mechanic but also worked in a veneer mill and as a lumberjack. Employment opportunities were found all over the western United States. He moved to Gillette in 1979, where he worked as a mechanic for Gillette Diesel until his retirement.
Mr. Sullivan is survived by one son, Carl Sullivan of Farmington, Ark; five daughters, Laurie Glenn and Elizabeth, Jessica and Tricia Sullivan, all of Gillette, and Terri Sue Carrine of Farmington; four sisters, Jerri Thatcher, Monna Dancer and Sharon Kyle, all of Gillette and Doris Odell of Grand Junction, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers.
Fenton E. Parke - 01/11/05
Funeral services for Fenton Edward Parke, 56, formerly of Gillette, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery Chapel with the Rev. Bruce Sell of Liberty Baptist Church officiating.
Military rites will be accorded by the Natrona County United Veterans Council.
Mr. Parke died Friday, Jan. 7, 2005, at Wyoming Medical center of natural causes.
He was born Sept. 1, 1948, in Denver to Fenton R. and Dorothy L. (Bechemeyer) Parke. He graduated from Natrona County High School in 1967.
He served his country during the Vietnam War from Dec. 3, 1969, until he was honorably discharged July 6, 1971.
On June 9, 1970, he married Barbara Jean Cardwell in Casper. They divorced in 1977.
He worked most of his life in the mines of Gillette. Mr. Parke enjoyed motorcycling, fishing, karaoke and hunting.
Mr. Parke is survived by one son, Fenton G. Parke, his father and one brother, Daniel L. Parke, all of Casper; and numerous other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents.

Donna McCue - 4/11/06
Donna J. McCue, 59, of Moorcroft died peacefully at her home in Moorcroft on April 7, 2006.
Cremation has taken place and a private family burial will take place at a later date.
Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
James R. ‘Dick' Mankin - 4/16/06
Funeral services for James R. “Dick” Mankin, 78, of Gillette will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at New Life Wesleyan Church with Kenna Lou Rose officiating.
Burial will follow at Mount Pisgah Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home.
Mr. Mankin died Thursday, April 13, 2006, at Campbell County Memorial Hospital of cancer.
He was born Aug. 22, 1927, to Charles Ashford and Teresa Mildred Mankin in Gillette. His elementary school years were spent at the New Hope School and Bundy School in rural Campbell County. He graduated from Campbell County High School in May 1945.
Mr. Mankin married Ruth Ridenour April 9, 1946, and they lived south of Gillette on the Mankin Ranch.
He was involved in the rodeo circuit for 25 years in the calf and team roping events. He also found time to play trumpet in local bands for more than 18 years.
Among many of his interests, he enjoyed bowling and trapshooting, winning many local and state titles along the way. He was a lifetime member of the Amateur Trapshooting Association and past president of the Gillette Gun Club and the Gillette Men's Bowling Association.
For more than 50 years, Mr. Mankin guided deer and antelope hunts. His proudest achievement was being an official measurer for the Boone and Crockett Club and the Pope and Young Club, since 1957.
Other interests included horseshoe pitching, artifact hunting, farming and ranching.
Mr. Mankin is survived by his wife of 60 years; four sons: John of Athens, Tenn., and Jerry, Gene and Jim of Gillette; a daughter, Jannelle Mankin-Mills of Gillette; a sister, Alice Lee Christensen of Gillette; a brother, Charles D. of Gillette; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, James Allen.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to benefit the Campbell County Healthcare Foundation for Hospice House.
