John Schreiner
JULY 2, 1917 - OCTOBER 20, 2004
Funeral services for John Schreiner, 87, will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 25, 2004, at Colyer Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Brad Eakins officiating. Burial will follow in Valley View cemetery. John died on Oct. 20, 2004, at Goshen Care Center. Visitation hours will be held at Colyer Funeral Home on Sunday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.; Monday from 9 a.m. to noon; and the casket will be open briefly following the service. Those who wish may direct memorial contributions to Torrington Goshen Care Center. Arrangements are under the direction of Colyer Funeral Home.
He was born on July 2, 1917, in Minitare, Neb., the son of Jacob and Elizabeth (Schwindt) Schreiner. He moved with his family to the Cottier Community where he attended school. He then worked on the family farm until 1947 when he moved to LaGrange to farm. He married
Lucille Wells on Jan. 2, 1938. In 1951, the couple moved to the Phil Grant farm and worked there until 1973. They then lived and farmed on the Alex Schreiner, farm and in 1980, they moved to Torrington. His wife passed away in 1987 and he retired in 1995.
He is survived by a daughter, Edna Cross of Lingle; granddaughter, Jackie Walker and her husband, Jeff of Mitchell, Neb.; brother, Philip Schreiner of Torrington; four great grandchildren, Tyler and Kassy West and Brandon and Mitchell Walker; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lucille; daughter, Donna Schreiner; one great-granddaughter, two sisters, Elizabeth and Frieda; three brothers, Bill, Jake and Henry; and one son-in-law, Jack Cross.
Floa Eloise Henman
OCTOBER 1, 1910 - NOVEMBER 26, 2004
Funeral services for Floa Eloise Henman, 94, was held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004, at the Berean Bible Church in Torrington with the Rev. Richard Crocker officiating. Burial followed in Valley View cemetery. Floa passed away at her daughters home in Torrington on Nov. 26, 2004. Those who wish may direct memorial contributions to the Valley Christian School.
Floa Eloise Paullin was born on Oct. 1, 1910, on a farm in Guthrie Center, Iowa. She was the eldest of five children born to Arthur and Minnie (McNary) Paullin. Her childhood was spent living on several farms in Guthrie County, Iowa, where she attended rural schools. Eloise graduated from Guthrie Center High School with a Normal Training certificate and then taught in a rural school for two years. She married
Fred E. Henman on Dec. 12, 1931, at Papillion, Neb. The couple lived in Exira, Iowa, until 1939, when they moved to Harper, Kan., where they lived during World War II. In 1951, they moved to Torrington. In 1955 Eloise enrolled in the local junior college and then the University of Wyoming where she received her bachelor's degree. She then taught at Lincoln Elementary School in Torrington for 19 years.
Eloise was a member of Kappa Delta Pi, the Wyoming Education Association and the Eastern Wyoming Retired Teachers' Association. She was also a member of the Berean Bible Church where she taught Sunday School, Women's Bible study, and she was the Children's church coordinator. Eloise was a member of Friends of Music Club and a long-term hospital and care center volunteer.
She is survived by her three sons, William 'Bill' (Joan) Henman of Loveland, Colo., Fred A. (Lana) Henman of Laramie and Daniel J. (Jane) Henman of Woodward, Iowa; two daughters, Edie (Dale) Wickham, of Torrington and Sarah (Charles) Kirk of Cheyenne; 14 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Verl Paullin of Guthrie Center; and a sister, JoAnn Telford of Cary, N.C.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, Ricky and Jim; and grandson Randy Lee Henman, a brother, Willard Paullin, and a sister, Vivien Simms.

Clark H. Mullock
DECEMBER 3, 2004- DECEMBER 7, 2004
Graveside services for Clark H. Mullock, 94, were held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2004, at Valley View cemetery with th Rev. Rick Carroll officiating. He died on Dec. 3, 2004, at Community Hospital. A memorial has been established to the Special Touch Program at Community Hospital.
He was born March 8, 1910, in Parnell, Mo., the son of George and Vina (Dodd) Mullock. He grew up and received his early education in Missouri and worked there for a while before moving to California to work with his brother in a bakery for a year. Clark then moved back to Missouri to help another brother farm.
He married
Lillie Black in Parnell on Feb. 22, 1930, and in 1932, the couple moved to Wyoming where they farmed in the Goshen County area until 1983, when Clark semi-retired and they moved into Torrington. He also worked campaigns for Holly Sugar for 35 years as a truck mechanic. He loved to travel, fish, and camp.
He is survived by two sons, Jerald and his wife, Myrtle and Harold and his wife, Marjorie of Torrington; one daughter, Karen Townsend and her husband, Gerald of Sheridan; one granddaughter, Jeri Covello and her husband, Cactus of Torrington; three grandsons, Larry Mullock of Yoder, Randy Townsend of Fort Collins, Colo., and Rick Townsend of Sheridan and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lillie; one son, one daughter, one granddaughter, three sisters and five brothers.
Arrangements were under the direction of Colyer Funeral Home.
Alice May Patterson
MAY 19, 1927-DECEMBER 5, 2004
Funeral services for Alice May Patterson, 77, will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday Dec. 9, 2004, at Colyer Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert Frye officiating. Burial will follow in Valley View cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. A memorial has been established to the Alzheimer Unit at Sunset Manor in Brush, Colo., where she died on Dec. 5, 2004.
Alice was born May 19, 1927, in Lewellen, Neb., the daughter of Ross and Mi1dred (Johnson) Harshfield. At an early age she moved to the Fort Laramie area where she attended country schools though the eighth grade. She then attended and graduated from Torrington High School. She married
James Patterson on Dec. 20, 1946, in Torrington.
They lived in Torrington for awhile before moving to Longmont, Colo., in 1951. They also lived in various other places in Colorado. They moved to Albuquerque, N.M., in 1972 to live for 12 years. After moving back to Colorado in 1984, they lived in various places until James retired and they moved to Guernsey in 1995. They moved to Torrington in 1997. Alice entered Sunset Manor Nursing Home in Brush in 2000.
She enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting, taking care of children and all things involved with homemaking.
She is survived by her husband James of Aurora, Colo.; three daughters, Ilene Sturdivant and her husband, Joe of Guernsey, Linda North and her husband, Dennis of Fort Collins, Colo., and Barbara Patterson of Aurora; two sons, Jimmy Patterson and his wife, Terri of Highlands Ranch, Colo., and Jerry Patterson of Abilene, Texas; one sister, Evelyn Abel of Calera, Okla.; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother and two infant brothers; one sister and one infant sister.

Coleen M. Rottman
NOVEMBER 6, 1955-DECEMBER 6, 2004
Funeral services for Colleen M. Rottman, 49, will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 10, 2004, at the First Wyoming United Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Tom Kittleman officiating. Burial will follow in Valley View cemetery. The casket will be closed. Colleen died on Monday, Dec.6, 2004, as the result of injuries sustained in a vehicle accident south of Torrington. In lieu of flowers the family would request that memorial donations be directed to either the WIFE organization or to the South Goshen Presbyterian Church.
She was born on Nov. 6, 1955, in Laramie, the daughter of Leonard and Joan (Lockhart) Rottman. She grew up and received her education; graduating from Laramie High School in 1975 and went on to receive an associate degree from Eastern Wyoming College in veterinarian technology. She then worked as a vet tech in Torrington. Colleen went on to receive Certified Nursing Assistant training and worked at the Goshen Care Center for years and for the Home Health Care program with Banner Health where she was employed at the time of her death.
Colleen was a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant and she found great enjoyment in serving her customers. Her true love was working with Home Health Care clients and most of all Colleen had a deep love of children that led to her and Craig's involvement for the last six years with foster care children who had entered their lives.
She also had a love for animals, which was most apparent with her burros and greyhounds; but also llamas, cattle and other farm animals. She was a proud member of the South Goshen Presbyterian Church and the WIFE organization.
She is survived by her special friend and companion, Craig Foos of Yoder; her parents, Leonard and Joan of Roswell, N.M.; brother, David Rottman and his wife, Deb of Carlsbad, N.M.; sister, Susan Powell and her husband, Jeff of Roswell, N.M.; two nieces, Rachelle Thompson and her husband, Seth of Torrington, and Tara Rottman of Yoder; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many foster children.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents.

Harry Keller
OCTOBER 21, 1916 - DECEMBER 22, 2004
Funeral services for Harry Keller, 88, of Worland were held Tuesday, Dec. 28, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Worland with Dr. L.E. 'Bud' Surles officiating. Burial followed at Riverview Memorial Gardens cemetery.
Harry died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004, at Worland Healthcare and Rehab Center in Worland. Memorials may be sent to the Zion Lutheran Church at PO Box 376, Worland, WY 82401-0376.
He was born Oct. 21, 1916, in Scottsbluff, Neb., the son of Pete and Kathern (Wagner) Keller. Harry was raised and schooled in Scottsbluff. Harry left school as a young man to go to work to support his family after his father became ill. He worked on farms in the Scottsbluff area for several years.
He married
Lydia H. Feagler on March 7, 1937, in Scottsbluff. He and Lydia worked for farmers at Gering and Mitchell. In 1953 they started farming on their own in Gering. They moved to Mitchell to farm with the family and then to Henry, Neb. In 1947 the family moved to Torrington to farm, and in 1953 to Lingle. They then moved back to Scottsbluff, where he operated a trailer court for a short time.
In 1961 the family moved to Veteran, where Harry formed a farming partnership with his son-in-law and his son. In 1966 they all moved to Worland, where they farmed the Banjo Ranch as Harry Keller and Sons. He retired in 1976 but kept busy as the Washakie Beetgrowers representative at the tare lab at Holly Sugar until 1991. He also helped the growers with securing beet labor.
Harry was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, where he served on the Consistory, was head usher for many years and took care of the church lawn.
His hobby was his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed raising roses and enjoying coffee with his friends. He had been a 4-H leader and a chaperone for the Job's Daughters.
He is survived by his wife, Lydia, of Worland; son Jim (Dottie) Keller of Windsor, Colo.; daughter Joann (Larry) Bower of Worland; Brother Albert Keller of Portland, Ore.; sister Mary Collins of Terrytown, Neb.; grandchildren Wayne Bower of Billings, Mont., Michael Bower of California, Tammi Salzman of Worland, and Colleen Gross and Jolene Mayfield of Windsor, Colo.; great-grandchildren Josh Hunter, Kyle Ferguson, Wade and Shane Bower, Jace and Vickie Salzman and Spencer Bower.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 11 brothers, three sisters and one granddaughter.
Veile Mortuary of Worland was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
Adaline V. Torrey
JULY 16, 1924 - JANUARY 2, 2005
Funeral services for Adaline V. Torrey, 80, will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2005, at Colyer Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Flom officiating. Burial will follow in Valley View cemetery. The casket will be closed. A memorial has been established to the Valley Christian School.
She was born July 16, 1924, in Mitchell, Neb., the daughter of Fred and Pauline (Benzel) Benzel. Her family moved to the Table Mountain area in 1926. She attended school at the Table Mountain and Huntley schools. She married
Harold Torrey in Torrington in 1946. She later attended Eastern Wyoming College, graduating there in 1965. Adaline taught school in Veteran and Yoder, and substitute taught in Torrington for many years before retiring. She entered the Goshen Care Center in February 2001.
She was a member of the Riverside Church of Christ. She loved to sew quilts and paint. At one time, one of her paintings hung in the Wyoming Governor's Mansion.
Adaline is survived by five brothers, Sterling Benzel of La Pine, Ore., Robert Benzel of Phoenix, Paul Benzel of Newhall, Calif., Daniel Benzel of Roseville, Calif., and George Benzel of Carlotta, Calif.; three sisters, Joyce Hornby of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Hanna Van Mark of Torrington, and Barbara Johnson of Covington, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two brothers, Roy and Richard.

Loren "Miles" Hughes
OCTOBER 15, 1911 - JANUARY 2, 2005
Memorial services for Loren 'Miles' Hughes, 94, will be held on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005, at 10 a.m. at Colyer Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert Frye officiating. Burial will follow in the Fort Laramie cemetery. He died on Jan. 2, 2005, at his daughter's home in Burden, Kansas and cremation has taken place.
Miles was born on Oct. 15, 1911, the son of Walter and Lucy Jane Hughes. He worked construction throughout the United States and Greenland. He joined the Wyoming National Guard on Feb. 4, 1932, and received an honorable discharge on May 31, 1934. He married
Mary Bright on Dec. 29, 1960, and the couple returned to their permanent home in Guernsey in 1976. He moved to Burden, Kan., in December 1998 so that he could be closer to his daughter.
Miles was a Master Mason of Lodge 29 AF and AM in Torrington and he was a member of the Korein Temple in Rawlins.
He is survived by his daughter, Lori Jones and her husband, James of Burden, Kan.; a son, Loren Hughes; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, daughter, Lisa; son, Neal; parents, Walter and Lucy Jane and two sisters, Dorris Pattrick and Dorcus Hattan.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home.
Irene Mehling
DECEMBER 22, 1924 - DECEMBER 29, 2004
Irene Mehling, 80, of Lyman, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004, at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, Neb. Funeral Services were held Monday, Jan. 5, 2005, at The Immanuel United Church of Christ in Lyman, with The Rev. Dr. Robert E. Smith officiating. Interment followed at Fairview cemetery in Scottsbluff. Memorials in her name may be made to the church or to the Cancer Treatment Center at Regional West.

Irene was born Dec. 22, 1924, at Scottsbluff, on a farm which is now the Scottsbluff airport, to Henry and Christina (Steben) Reichert. She grew up in the area and attended country schools in the Scottsbluff and Mitchell Valley area. On February 17, 1942, she married
Jake Mehling, Jr. at Gering. Irene and Jake farmed in the Huntley area until 1956, when they moved their farming operations south of Lyman, where she has resided since.
Irene was a member of the Immanuel United Church of Christ in Lyman, was active on church boards and was also a member of the Happy Hour Club.
She is survived by her sons, Harold E. and his wife, Marilyn Mehling, Bob D. Mehling and Gary L. and his wife, Kathy Mehling, all of Lyman, brothers, Henry Jr. and his wife, Gloria Reichert and Harold and his wife, Virginia Reichert, all of Torrington, Harvey and his wife, Alice Reichert of McGrew, Fred and his wife, Delores Reichert of Lyman and John and his wife, Linda Reichert of Sterling, Alaska, sisters, Lydia and her husband, Robert Schildt of Bridgeport, and Loretta and her husband, Robert Frick of Greeley, Colo., and a brother-in-law, Albert Hart of Gering. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Pam and her husband, Steve Crawford, Travis and his wife, Andrea Mehling, Kelly and his wife, Jamie Mehling and Jamie and her husband, Tim Rasnake, great-grandchildren D.J. and Aspen Crawford and Logan Mehling and numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Her parents, her husband and sisters Helen Hargreaves and Clara Hart preceded her in death.
Mary Martha Gamble Borders
DECEMBER 2, 1907 - DECEMBER 11, 2004
Mary Martha Gamble Borders, 97, former teacher and assistant principle at Compton Junior College passed away on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004, at her home. She was born on Dec. 2, 1907 in Page County, Iowa, to Chester and Mable Lingo Gamble. She attended school in Iowa, graduated from Tarkio College, Tarkio, Mo. She received her masters degree from North Western University at Evanston, Ill.
She taught English at Torrington, Chino and Compton Senior High and Junior College. When she retired she was assistant principle. She was united in marriage on July 3, 1949 in Long Beach to Everett Edcel Borders. He passed away on July 16, 1991.
They lived in Compton and Rossmoor. She was a musician, playing piano for churches in Iowa and Wyoming, played the music background for silent movies in Iowa theaters, helped organize a quartet in Wyoming. She provided music scholarships at Long Beach City College and contributions to the Everett and Martha Borders Music Room at Long Beach City College. She developed a passion for family history, enjoyed bridge and visiting.
She was an officer in the Rossmoor Women's Club, Southern California Retired Teachers Association, Zonta, and Southern California Woman's Club. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister Florence, and her husband Everett. She is survived by one brother, C. Lowell Gamble (Melva) of Bismarck, ND; nephews and nieces; two step-granddaughters, Pamela Ponsford and Jeannie Forsythe; great-nephews and nieces.
The funeral was held at Rose Hills Mortuary Chapel, Saturday, Dec. 18, conducted by her nephew, Robert Gamble of Maple Grove, Minn., and cousin, Richard Henderson of Pasadena, Calif. Memorials may be made to LBCC Foundation'Martha Borders Scholarship.
Leona Beatrice
NOVEMBER 29, 1923 - JANUARY 27, 2005
Leona Beatrice Fields, 81 of Morrill, Neb., passed away Jan. 27, 2005, after a long battle with cancer surrounded by her family in her home.
Her funeral service were held Monday, Jan. 31, 2005, at the United Methodist Church in Henry, Neb., with the Rev. Charles K. Murithi officiating. Interment was at Forest Lawn in Morrill. Leona was born in Colorado Springs, Colo., Nov. 29, 1923. She was the sixth child of seven, born to Burt and Lissie (Penn) Combs. She attended school in Colorado Springs and worked on the family farm. She married
to Mervin 'Bus' Fields on Dec. 26, 1945, in Raton, N.M. They had seven children. They lived in the valley until 1967, when they moved to Laramie. Leona worked in the Laramie Bakery, then was a house mother/custodian at the University Wyoming for six years. In 1976, they moved to Mesa, Ariz., where she worked at ASU until her retirement in 1979. They remained in Mesa until 1995, when they moved back to Morrill and remained until her death.
She was an avid sports fan especially baseball. She was a fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Atlanta Braves since the 1950s. She followed her grandkids in all of their school activities.
Survivors include son Jim Fields of Sidney, Neb., and special friend, Jamie Cleveland; sons, Ray Fields and wife, Lori of Veteran, and Roy Fields of Torrington; daughter, Echojean 'Penny' Fields of Henry and special friend, Dave Morehead; sons, Dave Fields of Laramie and John Fields and wife, Amy of Laramie; daughter, Kathy Gompert and husband, Ron of Kimball, Neb.; 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchild; sisters-in-law, Marlene and husband, Clarence Fleck of Edmond, Okla., and Verna Green of Henry; brother, Mickey Combs and wife, Wanda of Colorado Springs, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Leona was preceded in death by her parents, husband Mervin 'Bus' Fields, infant son, Freddy Bert, two brothers, three sisters and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Dugan-Kramer Morrill Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
