Christopher Watts
Christopher David Watts, 26, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2002, in Wapiti of injuries sustained in a one-vehicle rollover.
Chris, son of Robert and Joan Syslo Watts, was born Dec. 3, 1975, at Albion, Neb. He graduated from Cedar Rapids (Neb.) High School in 1994. While in school he participated in football, wrestling, FFA and was a member of the One Act stage crew.
Chris graduated from Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture at Curtis in 1996 with a degree in feedlot technology, and Oklahoma Panhandle State University in 1998 with a bachelor of science degree in agribusiness.
After graduating, he moved to Lexington, Neb., where he worked at a feedlot. In 1999 Chris moved to Wyoming where he was working as a hunting and pack trip guide at Wapiti.
Chris is survived by his parents Robert and Joan Watts of Cedar Rapids, sister Amy (Dave) Hilmer of Albion, nephew Jacob Hilmer of Albion, grandparents Bob and Rita Watts of Cedar Rapids, uncles Bill Watts of Cedar Rapids, and William Syslo of Fullerton, Neb., great-grandmother Clara Rutten of Cedar Rapids, cousins, great-aunts and uncles and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Teresa and Alois Syslo and great-grandparents Martin Rutten, and Mary and John Medinger.
Funeral services were Jan. 25 in Cedar Rapids. A memorial service for Chris will be at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, at the Wapiti School Gym.
Cameron Hardee
Cameron Hardee, 66, of Walla Walla, Wash., died at his home Feb. 28, 2002.
Cameron was born Feb.7, 1936, in Cody to Earld and Martha Gail Hardee. He attended school in Cody graduating with the class of 1954.
He joined the Air Force, where he became a missile maintenance man. He retired from the Air Force in 1974.
On Oct. 10, 1959, he married

Ilah Frances Matheney in Gooding, Idaho. In 1985 the family moved to Walla Walla where they lived until his death.
Cameron was a member of First Christian Church of Milton-Freewater, Ore., Eagles Lodge of Sand Point, Idaho, and BPOE #287 of Walla Walla.
Survivors include his wife Frances, daughters Cindy Mead of Kahlotus, Wash., and Janis Crane of Dayton, Wash., sons Floyd of Marys Lake, Fla., Chuck of Meade, Wash., Bruce of Milton-Freewater, sister Joan Hardee and brother Gail Hardee, both of Rawlins, 10 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Jeri Hardee.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service with private burial will be later.

Bernard C. Schacht
Bernard C. Schacht, 92, of Powell died Thursday, March 28, 2002, at his daughter's home in Cody.
He was born Sept. 19, 1909, in Powell, the son of Otto and Ida Kemper Schacht. Bernard married

Virginia Van on Dec. 26, 1936, in Cody. Mrs. Schacht preceded him in death in August 1983 in Powell.
From 1942-73 Bernard worked in the Elk Basin oilfield. At the time of his retirement, he was a plant operator. Bernard was an avid reader. He loved working with his hands, gardening and working in his shop. An outdoorsman, he loved fishing, hunting, rock hunting and hiking. He also enjoyed tying flies.
Survivors include sons Charles Schacht of Bremerton, Wash., Paul Schacht and Raymond Schacht of Benton, La., daughters Lorraine Farlow of Cody, Nancy Krell of Billings and Kathy Larson of Powell, sisters Marjorie Webber of Lehigh Acres, Fla., and Wanda Hart of Lynnwood, Wash., 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, at Ballard Funeral Home with the Rev. Pat Montgomery officiating.

Henry James Heuerman
Henry James Heuerman, 54, died March 27, 2002, in Cody.
He was born Dec. l3, 1947, in Cody, the son of Harold and Rachel Samuelson Heuerman. He attended Cody schools and graduated from Cody High School. On Aug. 20, 1966, Jim married

Gertrude Hendricks in Cody.
For most of his life he worked in the oil fields and for Celotex Corp. He loved spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, ice fishing, tying fishing lures and woodworking. He also enjoyed watching the Food Channel and experimenting with gourmet recipes. He was an excellent cook. Jim enjoyed treasure hunting at auctions and collecting antiques. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Jim was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved his nieces and nephews as if they were his own children and was a tremendous influence on their lives. Jim was the one his family came to if they needed a friend, advice or a solution to a problem. He was a handyman of hearts, souls and minds.
He is survived by his wife Gertrude "Trudy" of Cody, daughters Wendy Koltes of Cody, Jeannie Larson of Medina, Texas, and Heidi Woodward of Cody, son Henry Heuerman of Laramie, brothers Robert Heuerman of Riverton, Donald Heuerman of Barre, Va., Claude Anderson of Wadestown, W.Va. and Daniel Anderson of Palestine, Texas, sisters Gloria Johnson of Byron, Ella Mae Leavitt of Heyburn, Idaho, brother-in-law William Hendricks and family, sister and brother-in-law Pauline and Bill Molaskey, and grandchildren Preston, Kristan, Shannon, Jessica, Jonathon, Kendra, Jacob, Rebecca and Carli.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother William Heuerman.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, at Ballard Funeral Home with Shoshone Lodge #21, AF&AM conducting services.

Jason Charles Bailey
Jason Charles Bailey, 31, of Wapiti died Saturday, March 30, 2002.
He succumbed to injuries received while attempting to flag down a vehicle near Jeffrey City.
Jason was born March 7, 1971, in Greensburg, Pa., the son of Charles and Joann Scafella Bailey. Jason, who lived in Wapiti since age 2, attended schools in Wapiti and Cody and graduated from Cody High School. While in high school he played sports.
Following high school he served in the armed forces. He married

Kellie Goswick. At the time of his death, Jason was employed by Schwans.
He loved music and cooking and enjoyed skiing and travel. Jason loved his family and sharing his love for the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife Kellie, children Tanner, Gabrielle and a child due in May, and step-children Tessa and Derek Workman, all of Cody, parents Charles and Joann Bailey of Wapiti, sisters Betty Ann Washburn of Greensburg and Jamie Bailey of Wapiti, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his brother Charles A. Bailey III.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 5, at Ballard Funeral Home. Interment of cremains will be in Riverside Cemetery.
Eugene (Gene) Barton Litton
Eugene (Gene) Barton Litton, 64, died Feb. 26, 2002, after a short battle with cancer.
He was born Dec. 7, 1937, in Stockport, Iowa, to Elry and Ava Watson Litton. In 1985 he married

Elna Hudson Tidball with whom he shared his life until his passing. Gene and Elna celebrated 17 years of marriage together before his death.
Gene was a quiet man whose kindness was well known to all who knew him. He was a loyal friend who in words may have not spoken much, but with his life spoke volumes. A carpenter by trade, he had many opportunities to build homes, churches and custom cabinets. When anyone had a project, he was always there to lend a hand.
He enjoyed working with wood, traveling, fishing, attending Old Thrashers and slipping away for quiet weekends with his wife. One of the constants in his life was his faithful church family of 33 years as he attended Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother and friend. He will be deeply missed.
Survivors include his loving wife Elna, daughter Lori, son Eldon, grandchildren Mindy, Mandy and Josh, son Mark (Teresa) and grandchild Victoria, his blended family, Michelle (Jim) Krubeck, grandchildren Crystal and Heather, Tina Tidball, grandchildren Dusty and Sean, Sean Tidball, grandchild Alexis, sisters and brothers Marvin (Charmaine) Litton, Clarence (Judy) Litton, Kevin (Diane) Litton, and Nancy (Buck) Akerson, his blended parents, brothers and sisters Chester (Kathy) Hudson, Opal Hudson, Ray (Lillian) Cremeens, Bill (Jeanette) Hudson, Chester (Shirley) Hudson and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Lester Litton.
A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, at Cody Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, l402 Stampede Ave.
Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his name to Spirit Mountain Hospice.
Evelyn M. Tomlinson Lester
Evelyn M. Tomlinson Lester, 92, of Grangeville, Idaho, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2002, at Syringa General Hospital in Grangeville.
Evelyn, daughter of Joseph and Etta Foss Sayles, was born April 27, 1909, in Buffalo.
Many of her friends and family live in Cody and Meeteetse.
She married

Harry Tomlinson on Jan. 7, 1932, in Billings. They worked on dude ranches in Wyoming, where Evelyn worked as a cook. In 1948 they moved to Council, Idaho, where they operated a restaurant before moving to Grangeville in 1954. There, she worked as a cook at Granny's Cafe. In 1956 they moved to Elk City where they owned and operated Tomlinson Motor Freight. Evelyn continued her cooking by opening a restaurant.
Harry died in 1972.
In 1975, Evelyn married

John Lester in Lewiston, Idaho. They farmed near Fenn until his death in 1997.
She enjoyed raising chickens and flowers and gardening. Her family came first and she was a wonderful mother and grandmother.
She was a member of the Fenn Home Extension Club and Grangeville Church of the Nazarene.
She is survived by son Robert Tomlinson of Grangeville, brother Joe Sayles of Gillette, sister Louise Putney of Cody, 15 grandchildren and several great- and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, sons William and Kenneth and many brothers and sisters.
Services were at Grangeville Church of the Nazarene and burial followed at Prairie View Cemetery in Grangeville.

Ruth Ann Rademacher
Ruth Ann Rademacher, 79, died at Powell Hospital on March 1, 2002, several weeks after suffering a severe heart attack.
Mrs. Rademacher was born Nov. 1, 1922, in Hyattville, to Willard and Clara Pritchard McGary. She lived and attended schools in Powell, graduating with the class of 1940.
While working in California, Ruth met John (Jack) Rademacher of Antioch. They were married

June 30, 1946. Their only child, Kathleen Ann Rademacher, was born Dec. 28, 1948. Jack, Ruth and Kathy lived in Antioch and Byron, Calif., for many years, where Jack worked for Dupont, Kathy taught school and Ruth was a homemaker.
The Rademacher Ranch always was open to friends and family and Ruth's wit and warmth made everyone feel welcome.
She returned to Powell in November 2001 where she lived until her death. Ruth will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
She is survived by brothers George (Rosemary) McGary of Powell and Ivan (Vernett) McGary of Cody and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jack, daughter Kathy, six brothers and four sisters.
Christian wake services will be 7 p.m. Monday at St. Barbara's Catholic Church in Powell with Father Tom Ogg reciting. Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, also at St. Barbara's Catholic Church.
Burial will be beside her husband and daughter in Holy Cross Cemetery in Antioch, Calif.
Dorothy Mae Ramsey
Dorothy Mae Ramsey, 85, died Feb. 18, 2002, in Fayetteville, N.C.
The daughter of Glenn and Mamie Clinkingbeard, she was born July 28, 1916, in rural Texas County, Okla. She was a lifelong Texas County resident, living in the Hough community and in Guymon, Okla.
For a short time she lived in Cody, and recently had moved to Fayetteville to be near family. Dorothy loved to travel and visit her family.
She is survived by sons Gene (JoAnn) Wilson of Cody and Vernon (Bonnie) Ramsey of Fayetteville, daughter Barbara (David) Arks of Terrell, Texas, six grandsons, two granddaughters, 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Jimmy Wilson, sister Opal, brother Leonard, granddaughter Stacy Parks and a granddaughter in infancy.
Graveside funeral services were Feb. 22 at Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon with Rev. Jim Jamieson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to a charity of choice. Memorials will be accepted at the Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1112, Guymon, 73942.
