Lyndon A. Red Isaacs
Longtime Cody resident Lyndon A. "Red" Isaacs, 76, died Saturday, March 11, 2000, at the Long Term Care Center.
He was born July 17, 1923, in Eldorado, Texas, to John F. and Leathie Miller Isaacs.
Red graduated from Eldorado High School and attended Texas Technological College until he enlisted in the Army in 1942.
Red fought in Italy with the 125th Field Artillery Battalion. He was awarded a campaign medal with four Bronze Stars, a good conduct medal and the Bronze Star for courage and valor.
He worked as a bartender in this area and will be remembered by many people.
He is survived by sons John and Jim of Tulsa, Okla., and Mike of Arizona, his first wife Pat, second wife Ruth and her family Ronald, Harold and Theodore Dorn of New Jersey, and Barbara Rinehart of Meeteetse and Beverly Ellis of Cody.
Cremation has taken place and no services are planned.
Joseph T. Hendon
Former Cody resident Joseph T. Hendon, 79, died March 11, 2000, at Bonell Good Samaritan Center in Greeley, Colo.
He was born June 5, 1920, in Decatur, Ala., the son of G. Edgar and Pearl Treadwell Hendon. He married

Estelle I. McFall on July 7, 1943, in Billings.
Mr. Hendon served in the Army and was stationed at Heart Mountain during World War II. He lived in the Cody area after the war and also lived in Montana and Utah before moving to Greeley in 1971.
Survivors include his son David Hendon of Evans, Colo., daughter Mickie and husband Robert Gibson of Tennessee, grandchildren Robert Gibson and Jody Gibson, both of Millington, Tenn., and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Estelle.
Cremation has taken place and no services are planned.
Ward F. Keevert
Ward F. Keevert, 77, died March 5, 2000, in Mesa, Ariz.
He was born Aug. 10, 1922, in Casper.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Violet of Mesa, daughters Rusty and husband Ed Hughes and Wardi and Wally Reber of Cody, three grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, sister Marcia and Chuck Mensing of Manitou Springs, Colo., brother George and Christine Keevert of Lander, nieces, nephews, cousins and many good friends.
A memorial service will be held this summer in Cody. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ward's name to Hospice of the Valley, Desert Samaritan Palliative Care Facility, 2145 W. Southern Avenue, Mesa, 85202-4175. (Violet Keevert is at home at 660 S. Desert Flower Drive, Mesa, 85208.)
Berry W. Ottersen
Berry W. Ottersen, 81, died Wednesday, March 22, 2000, at the Long Term Care Center, surrendering to her battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Berry was born July 7, 1918, in El Dorado, Ark., to Thomas and Mary Norris. She lived in several states before settling in Billings, where she lived for many years.
While in Billings, Berry owned and operated Berry's Tall Fashions. She sold the store in 1980 to enjoy her success. She enjoyed traveling with her many friends and especially enjoyed camping and fishing.
She is survived by daughter Joanna Luper of Cody, sons Tom of Sacramento, Calif., and Henry (Butch) of Spokane, Wash., brother Henry Norris of Pinetop, Ariz., eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren who knew and loved her as "Gramma O."
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and four brothers.
Cremation has taken place and no services are planned. Memorial contributions may be made to Edgewood Vista, Living Communities for Alzheimer's, 1225 Wicks Lane, Billings, 59105.
Lois Ann Hallam
Former Cody resident Lois Ann Hallam, 51, died March 23, 2000, at Evanston Regional Hospital after a battle with cancer.
She was born April 5, 1948, in Denver, the daughter of Harold and Doris Romine Hastie.
She married

Russell Hallam on Dec. 24, 1991, in Lyman.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Mountain View and served in the church session, church choir and as a youth group leader.
She enjoyed crafts, golf and singing.
Survivors include her husband of Mountain View, daughters CodiAnn and Clint Bishop of Great Falls, Mont., Heather Ann and Brad Franks of Rock Springs, Jessica Hallam of Rock Springs and Megan Hallam of Salt Lake City, sons Clive of Orem, Utah, Rusty of Mountain View, grandson Hunter Franks, her mother of Denver, brothers Robert Hastie of Denver, Bill and Brenda Hastie of Anchorage, Alaska, Scott and Penny Hastie of Edgewater, Colo., sister Linda and Robert Parker of Sacramento, Calif., and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father in 1999.
Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church in Mountain View.

Mary Gabriella Roybal
Mary Gabriella Roybal, 87, died March 28, 2000, at West Park Hospital after a tragic auto accident March 1 that also claimed the lives of her dear friends Frances Purvis and Louise Feketi.
Mary was born Dec. 3, 1912, in LaGarita, Colo., to Leandro and Aurelia Ortega Serna. At age 3, Mary and her year-old sister Josie lost their mother and were taken to live with their grandparents, Jose and Maria Ortega, where they were raised with their aunts and uncles.
She was employed at Cody Cafe for many years before she began working at Cody Hospital in 1970. She retired as housekeeping supervisor in 1978.
Mary enjoyed playing bingo and being at the Cody Senior Citizens Center. She dearly loved her grandchildren.
She is survived by sisters Josie Montoya of Denver and Dora Vigil of Fort Collins, Colo., brother Charlie Ortega of Fort Collins, children Frank Roybal of Lawton, Okla., Linda Parker of Cowley, Loretta Hecker of Oklahoma City, Lee Roybal of Rincon, Ga., and Ernest Roybal of Cody, 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband August Roybal and sons Richard and Herman Roybal.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday at Ballard Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Ballard's with interment following in Riverside Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Cody Senior Citizens Center, 613 16th St.
Jewell B. Scott
Jewell B. Scott, 87, died Saturday, March 11, 2000, at the West Park Long Term Care Center.
She was born Aug. 16, 1912, to Robert Lewis and Celia Mae McCarty in Oxly, Mo. She lived in Missouri until 1921 when her family moved to Rapelje, Mont., where they homesteaded for three years.
In 1924 they moved to Greybull, where her father worked for the CB&Q Railroad. She attended school there, graduating from Greybull High School in 1931.
Jewell married

longtime railroader George E. Scott in 1932 and they were blessed with four children. Jewell was a cook for the Head Start program and Greybull Elementary School for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Fern Chapter, Order of Eastern Star.
She loved to travel and enjoyed many tours, seeing nearly all of the United States. She loved playing cards and belonged to several bridge clubs. Jewell was a kindhearted, devoted and caring mother and grandmother who will be missed by all.
Jewell moved to Cody in 1969 and resided at Mountain View Manor until 1998 when she entered the Long Term Care Center where she resided until her death.
She is survived by her children Marjorie and husband Sheldon "Kitz" Kitzerow of Sun City, Calif., Margaret and Jerry Brown of Cody, David and Charlette Scott of Las Vegas, Nev., and Douglas and Susan Scott of Greybull, 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Cecil who died on Iwo Jima Island in 1945 during World War II, and her loving husband who passed away in 1968.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Greybull with Rev. Mike McMillan and Dr. Harold Cooper officiating.
Graveside services at Hillside Cemetery will be conducted by Fern Chapter, Order of Eastern Star.
Josephine McMillan
Josephine McMillan, 94, died Sunday, March 12, 2000, at Canyon Hills Manor in Thermopolis.
She was born Oct. 20, 1905, in Glasgow, Mo., the daughter of Joseph and Katie M. Yeager McMillan.
Josephine owned a farm between Glasgow and Fayette, Mo., where she lived until 1980 when she moved to Fayette. In August 1992 she moved to Meeteetse to live near her niece Katherine Donathan. She later lived at Canyon Hills Manor in Thermopolis.
Josephine loved the Lord and was a member of Pioneer Baptist Church in Meeteetse.
She is survived by nieces Katherine Donathan of Meeteetse and Mildred Dickerson of Moline, Ill., nephew Sam Yeager, Jr. of Warsaw Mo., and numerous great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Sam Yeager, George Yeager, Herman Yeager and Albert Yeager, and a sister, Pauline Saltzman.
Graveside services were Monday at Meeteetse Cemetery. Pastor Clarence Eldridge conducted services.
Elizabeth Mae Phillips Jensen
Elizabeth Mae Phillips Jensen, 84, died Friday, March 10, 2000, at her home in Meeteetse.
She was born April 23, 1915, in Pittsburgh, Pa., the daughter of Joseph T. and Bessie M. Wilkes Phillips. Betty married

Clarence Martin Jensen on Nov. 13, 1939, in Cody. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Kirwin where Mr. Jensen operated a sawmill. Betty owned and operated Betty's Cafe in Meeteetse from the late 1940s to 1960.
She enjoyed her yard and trees and loved to feed the birds. She was an artist, taught art classes and was a charter member of the Cody Country Art League. Betty had an internal strength and people could always depend on her. She taught honesty and decency to her family and friends.
Survivors include daughters Patricia McLaughlin of Houston, Texas, Kathleen Holtzer of Meeteetse and Mary Brown of Basin, son Kenneth Jensen of Edgewood, N.M., sister Mary Jane Verbin of Cody, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence on Oct. 8, 1989, daughter Linda Sue, her parents, brother Joseph and sisters Anna Newton and Helen Holzhauser.
Cremation has taken place. A private family memorial service will be held.
Those wishing may make donations to the Meeteetse Museum in her memory.
Louise M. Feketi
Louise M. Feketi, 93, died Thursday, March 9, at St. Vincent Hospital in Billings as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident the previous week in Cody.
She was born Aug. 16, 1906, in Halsey, Neb., the daughter of Andrew Jackson Heller and Nellie May Smith Heller.
Louise moved to Grand Junction, Colo., as a teenager. She later moved to Long Beach, Calif., in the early 1920s where she lived until the late 1940s. Louise met her future husband in Long Beach and following World War II, she married

Daniel Feketi in 1945 in Las Vegas, Nev. They moved to Garden Grove, Calif., in 1952. Mr. Feketi preceded her in death in 1962 in Garden Grove. In 1976, Louise moved to Cody to live near her son.
She enjoyed crocheting and sewing. She was an accomplished seamstress and made her own clothing and drapes. She loved the outdoors and wildlife. Louise spent nearly every Wednesday at the Cody Senior Citizens Center. She loved to play Bingo.
She is survived by a son and his wife, Mike and Cindy Feketi of Cody, grandchildren DeeAnn and husband Albert Gonzales, Tammy and Scott Hulcy, and Daniel Robert Feketi, great grandchildren Chris Zubia, Cory and Destiny Gonzales and Andrew and Adam Hulcy.
She was preceded in death by her husband Daniel, parents, brothers Peter, John and Homer Heller, and a sister, Viola Korsmeir.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ballard Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place.
