Raymond Bernel Hollinger
Raymond Bernel Hollinger, 65, Green River died Friday at his home following an illness of one year.
He was born Jan. 5, 1938, in Pioche, the son of the late Raymond and Nellie Mongo Hollinger.
Hollinger was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Following his tour in the service, he moved to Wyoming.
He was employed as an engineer for Allied CMF and SF Phosphates Fertilizer Plant.
He was a longtime member of the VFW and Fraternal Order of the Eagles No. 2350.
His interests included fishing, hunting, crossword puzzles and drawing.
He is survived by his former wife Shauna Hollinger; one sister and brother-in-law Elaine and Eddie Burrola, two daughters and three sons; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Following cremation at the Vase White Mountain Crematory, a memorial military service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Feb. 7 at the Green Gander.
Janet Ruth Barden
Janet Ruth Barden, 69, died April 19, in Salt Lake City, after a short illness.
She was born April 15, 1935, in Gibson County, Indiana, the second child of the late Roy Lee and Marie Lulu Morrill)Tyree.
She married
Robert Charles Barden in 1953 and he preceded her in death in 2000.
She loved teddy bears and collected over 200 bears of all sizes.
She worked at the Maverick Store in Lyman in several capacities and also as a cashier at Little America before retiring. She had recently moved back to Green River after living in Lyman for the last 23 years.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Rhonda and William Boren of Lyman; four sons, Robert Barden of Kuna, Idaho, Frank Bardenand wife Rusty of Evanston, Tom Barden of Ethete, and Ken Barden and wife Kathy of Green River; one sister, Royal Tyree of Indiana; nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy Reinard; a son, Patrick Barden and a brother, Ronald Tyree.
Funeral services will be conducted April 24 at the Bridger Valley Baptist Church at 11 a.m. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at the Riverview cemetery in Green River.
Daniel Craig Andrews
Daniel Craig Andrews, 35, Cairo, Egypt, died Feb. 11 when a boat in which he was riding with 10 students exploded.
He was born Feb. 1, 1969, in Tacoma, Wash., the son of Marion Lee and Sandra Armstrong Andrews.
He attended schools in California and Green River and graduated from Green River High School with the class of 1987. While he was in high school, he was an announcer for KUGR Radio.
He graduated from the University of Florida in 1992 and taught school at Lincoln School in San Jose, Costa Rica from 1992-1994; at Eckert Community Services in Blakesly, Georgia from 1994-1996.
He married
Karen Shea in Cairo in 2002. at the time of his death, he taught social studies at Cairo American College.
He sponsored Model United Nations and Close-Up. He was a member of the Mount of Olives Lutheran Church.
His interests included photography, scuba diving and world travel.
Survivors include his wife, his parents, one brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Wren Andrews of Green River; two sisters, Kristy Andrews of Milton, Wash. and Kathy Stanton and husband Dan of Fort Madison, Iowa; and three nieces.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. tomorrow at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Green River. Rev. Bob Chapman of the Mount of Olives Lutheran Church will officiate. Interment will follow in the Riverview cemetery in Green River.
Friends may call at the church one hour prior to services.
The family requests memorials be made to the Dan Andrews Memorial Fund at Trona Valley Federal Credit Union.
Dorothy F. Pivik
Dorothy F. Pivik, 96, Rock Springs, died March 31 at Sage View Care Center following a lengthy illness.
Shw was born Jan. 29, 1908, in Rock Springs, the daughter of the late Louis and Mary Cheferin Taucher. She attended schools in Rock Springs where she graduated from high school with the class of 1927.
She married
Joseph Pivik, Sr. in Manila in 1935. He preceded her in death in 1972.
She was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Community and cared for the late Monsignor Albin Gnidovec until his death. She belonged to the American Fraternal Union and Saint Monica Sodality.
Her interests included crocheting, knitting, yard work and baking.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law Arthur and Nancy Pivik, one step-son, Rudy Pivik; one daughter, Dorothea Butler, all of Rock Springs; two brothers and sister-in-law Arthur and Elsie Taucher of Rock Springs and Louis and Ann Taucher of Klamath Falls, Ore., 22 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Marilyn Scott; one step-daughter, Angela Rahonce; three step-sons, Joseph, Carl and Edward Pivic; two brothers, Frand and Edward Taucher; three sisters, Molly Butan, Angela McCleod and Mary Gilmartin; one grandson and one great-granddaughter.
A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Monday at Saints Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, Father John Savio officiating.
Burial was in the St. Joseph's section of the Rock Springs Municipal cemetery.
Carl Duane "Bucko" Boutin
Carl Duane "Bucko" Boutin, 74, Green River, passed away on Oct. 26 at his home following a lengthy illness. He was a longtime resident of Green River and former resident of Hurley and Ashland, Wis.
He was born Dec. 9, 1928, in Chicago, the son of the late Carl H. and Celestine Abel Boutin.
He attended school in Ashland, Wis., where he graduated from Ashland High School in 1947.
He married
the former Luanna King on Nov.r 10, 1951. in Ashland.
He was a retired underground miner, having worked for General Chemical for 26 years. He also worked for White Pine Copper Mine in White Pine, Mich., for 17 years as an underground miner.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard in the Great Lake's region and served in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Guam during peacetime.
He is survived by his wife, Luanna Boutin of Green River; three sons, Melvin Boutin and wife Cindy of Georgetown, Colo., Daniel Boutin and wife Kristen of Green River, Scott Boutin of Rock Springs; one daughter, Chris Weber and husband Phil of Mountain View; three brothers, Lonnie Boutin of Ashland, Wis., Larry Boutin of Ashland, Wis., Gene Boutin of South Carolina; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, John Michael Boutin.
A mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Oct. 30 at the Immaculate Conception Church, 900 Hitching Post Drive, Green River. Father Tom Sheridan conducted the services. Military graveside services and interment wereat the Riverview cemetery in Green River.

James B. Brymer
James B. Brymer III, 51, died July 27 at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County in Rock Springs after a lengthy battle with cancer.
He was born July 30, 1952, in Houston, the son of James B. and Mary C. Courtney Brymer Jr. He attended schools in Houston and Metairie, La., and graduated from East Jefferson High School with the class of 1970. He then attended Southwestern University and Louisiana State University.
He was a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include his mother Mary C. Brymer of Metairie, La.; one brother, Dan Brymer of Marianna, Fla.; one sister, Mary Ann Monnin and husband Ed of Frisco, Texas; three nephews, James Andrew and Adam Brymer of Panama City, Fla., and Bryan Monnin of Frisco, Texas; one niece, Alexa Monnin of Frisco, Texas; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
Cremation took place at Fox Crematory and private memorial services will be conducted.
Emma Lou Webster
Emma Lou Webster, 86, Eden, passed away July 27 at her home. A lifelong resident of Eden, she died following a sudden illness.
She was born in Rock Springs on March 20, 1918, the daughter of the late Lewis T. and Emma Krichbaum Sims.
She attended schools in Eden and was a graduate of the high school there.
She married
Keith Henry Webster in Rock Springs on June 12, 1937, and he preceded her in death on March 10, 1980.
She was a self-employed rancher in Eden. She also worked for the Union Pacific Railroad, as a school bus driver and in the Eden school cafeteria.
She was a member of the Episcopal Church and served on the Eden Valley cemetery Board.
Survivors include one son, William Webster and wife Nancy of Eden; three brothers, Tom Sims and wife Pat of Reno, Nev., Kerby Sims and wife Marg of Bullhead City, Ariz., and Roger Sims and wife Paula of Green River; two sisters, Iva May Pozsqi of Cheyenne and Rose Marie Kerrens of Wellston, Okla.; two grandchildren, Pam Keyser and husband Don and Dean Webster and wife Denise; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three brothers, Fred and John Sims and a brother who died in infancy.
Funeral services were conducted last Saturday at the Farson-Eden Valley High School, the Rev. Richard Kalber officiating. interment was in the Eden Valley cemetery in Farson.

Marjorie Lou Riddle
Marjorie Lou Riddle, 84, Green River, passed awayAug. 1 at the Castle Rock Convalescent Center. A longtime resident of Green River, and former resident of Kansas, she died following a sudden illness.
She was born on Feb. 9, 1920, in Denver, the daughter of the late Clarence and Helen Hartwell Barkyoumb.
She attended schools in Clay Center, Kan., and was a graduate of the Clay Center High School with the Class of 1938.
She married
Howard Cain in Washington, Kan., in 1939, and they later divorced. He preceded her in death on April 1, 1973. She later married
William C. "Swede" Riddle in Evanston in 1951, and he preceded her in death in January of 1972.
She began her employment as a clerk for the Union Pacific Railroad in 1944 and she retired in 1985.
Survivors include two sons, Gary L. Cain of Pueblo West, Colo., and Charles "Chuck" Riddle of Rock Springs; three grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands and two brothers.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Vase Flaming Gorge Chapel, 263 East Flaming Gorge Way, Green River. Pastor David Heintzelman will conduct the services. Graveside services and interment will be at the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens cemetery. Friends may call at the Vase Chapel Wednesday afternoon from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and again Thursday morning until time of services.

Frank Matiba
Frank Matiba, 74, died Nov. 16 in Morning Star Care Center in Fort Washakie.
He was born Nov. 21, 1928, to the late John F. and Lillian Hill Matiba in Kemmerer.
The family moved to the Superior area where he grew up and graduated from Superior High School.
He worked in the coal mines for a few years until he was drafted unto the Army in 1954. He was stationed primarily in Alaska and left the service in 1956.
He attended college at the University of Wyoming for three years, then went to work for FMC Corporation as a trona miner until his retirement in 1985.He married
Emma Ungren in 1962 in Rock Springs and she preceded him in death in 1978.
He enjoyed fishing and was a former member of the Rock Springs Eagles.
Survivors include two sisters and brothers-in-law, Gerry and John Samietz and June and Ben Buh all of Lander; five stepdaughters, Marlene, Rena, Judy, Jeri and Joni; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services were conducted yesterday at Vase Funeral Chapel. Father Savio officiated and interment followed in Rest Haven cemetery in Rock Springs.
Lillian McCoy
Lillian McCoy, 97, Green River, died Nov. 12 at the Castle Rock Convalescent Center where she had been a resident for the past 10 years.
She was born March 27, 1906, in Green River, the daughter of the late Charles Harris and Lillian Whitemore.
She attended schools in Green River and was a graduate of the Green River High School.
She married
Joe McCoy in 1930 and they later divorced.
She was employed as a hotel clerk in Chicago at the Edgewater Beach Hotel and the Drake Hotel until she retired in 1970 and moved back to Green River.
Her interests included reading, watching birds, and she was an avid Elvis fan.
She was a member of the Episcopal Church.
Survivors include one brother, Thomas Siegel and wife Helen of Cheyenne; one nephew, Steve Siegel of Cheyenne; two nieces, Julie Talley of Laramie and Margaret Stansill of Thermopolis.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Joe McCoy and one sister, Margaret Kemp.
Cremation will take place at the Vase White Mountain Crematory. Memorial graveside services will be announced at a later date.
Laura "Jean" Bartelt
Funeral services for Laura "Jean" Bartelt, 76, Green River, were conducted yesterday at the L.D.S. Chapel in Green River.
She died at the Sage View Care Center in Rock Springs on Nov. 26 following a lengthy illness. She was born May 31, 1928, in Evanston, the daughter of the late Charles and Marguerite Pope Owens. She attended schools in Green River and married
Edwin Brewer in 1951. He preceded her in death in 1976. She later married
Earl Bartelt in 1977 and he preceded her in death in 1986.
She was a childcare provider for 30 years and then worked at the Tomahawk Hotel as a desk clerk for 18 years until her retirement in 1985. Her interests included knitting, crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Survivors include two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Marie Owens of Ogden, and Edwin LaVain and Betty Lou Owens of Green River; two sisters, Marian Smith of Green River and Charlene Jackson and husband Fred of Rifle, Colo.; two grandchildren, Eva Jean Brewer of Green River, and Edwin Leo Brewer of Ogden; three great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Gayle Bacila and husband Nick of Green River; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Interment was in the Riverview cemetery.
Robert G. Hazzard
Robert G. Hazzard, 75, Green River, died Nov. 26 at his home following an illness of two years.
He was born Nov. 13, 1929 in Pueblo, Colo., the son of the late Homer and Genevieve Diebert Hazzard. He attended schools in Walsenburg, Colo. and graduated from high school there with the class of 1947.
He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1947 and served 20 years, retiring in 1967. He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars.
He married
Geraldine Arnold in Arlington, Wash. in 1953.
He was a member of the American Legion, the NRA and the Masonic Lodge.
His interests included hunting, fishing, hiking and hunting arrowheads.
Survivors include his wife of Green River; two sons, Kenneth Hazzard and wife Lisa of Green River, and Danny Lee Hazzard of Challis, Idaho; one daughter and son-in-law, Judith Ann and H. Ray Combs of Gillette; one brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth Lloyd and Alice Hazzard of Montrose, Colo.; two sisters, Betty Redmon and husband Chuck of Silver City, N.M., and Margerie Peek of Las Cruces, N.M.; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Hap Hazzard.
Cremation will take place at the Vase White Mountain Crematory.
