Frances A. Liska
Frances A. Liska, 88, Rock Springs, passed away on Nov. 20, 2003. A longtime resident of Rock Springs, she died following a brief illness.
She was born on May 5, 1915, in Rock Springs, the daughter of the late Frank and Frances Adovnik Cilensek.
She attended schools in Rock Springs and was a graduate of the Rock Springs High School with the Class of 1933.
She married
Edward A. Liska on Jan. 26, 1935, in Rock Springs and maintained a household with him until his death on Dec. 20, 1991.
She was a member of the Saints Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church and the A.F.U. Lodge.
Survivors include three sons, George E. Liska and wife Mary Anne, Edward A. Liska and wife Tamara and Martin F. Liska and wife Vanita, all of Rock Springs; one daughter, Margo McCarthy and husband "Jim" of San Diego; one brother. Frank Cilensek and wife Flossie of Rock Springs; three sisters, Elsie Zelenka of Rock Springs; Mary Schrek and Louise Cilensek, both of Ogden, Utah; six grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, Carl Cilensek; two sisters, Jean Stanton and Ursula Fletcher; and two brothers-in-law, James Zelenka and Paul Schrek.
Funeral services are pending.

Mildred D. Jones
Mildred D. Jones, 81, Rock Springs, died Nov. 20 at the Sage View Care Center following a lengthy illness.
She was born Nov. 28, 1921, in Dawson, N.M., the daughter of the late Henry Scott and Marie Cooper Dupont.
She attended schools and graduated from high school there. She Married Alton Hershel Jones in Evanston in 1959 and he preceded her in death.
She was a bookkeeper for the Rock Springs Laundry until her retirement.
She enjoyed crocheting and tating.
Survivors include three nephews, Tim Dupont of Green River, Henry Dupont of San Diego and Delbert Dupont of Kamish, Idaho, and one grand niece.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Cremation will take place at the Vase White Mountain Crematory and memorial services will be announced at a later date.
Fredia Audeen Gilbert Lee
Fredia Audeen Gilbert Lee, 81, died yesterday at the Sublette Retirement Center in Pinedale. She was a resident of Pinedale for 50 years
She was born in West Unity, Ohio, July 2, 1922, to Hugh Ross and Lizzie Winger Gilbert. The family moved to Billings, Mont., when she was about three, then to Green River when her father was offered a job at Mountain Fuel.
She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1940 and married
Harold Clark Lee in 1944. He preceded her in death in 1976. Six children were born to this union; Linda, Judy, Philip and Robert (Bubba). Another daughter and son, Kathy and Jim, were adopted and lovingly raised by her brother, Bud Gilbert and his wife Genevieve.
The Lee's moved to Pinedale, and she kept very busy waiting tables and cooking in many of Pinedale's restaurants. Her last cooking job was at the High Country Senior Center, helping her sister Betty Jean Hulen.
She loved going to California every year. Disneyland and Sea World were two of her favorite places. In 1988 she and her daughter Judy took a bus trip to Texas to visit Linda and her family.
She and several friends enjoyed getting together to play poker, which led to her love of poker slots in Wendover, Mesquite and Las Vegas.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and John Pape of Aransas Pass, Texas, and Judy and Bob Walker of Chino, Calif.; one son, Robert (Bubba) Lee of Sheridan; many grandchildren, great grand-children, and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by, one son Philip, three sisters, Audrey Fields, Betty Jean Hulen and Olive Smith, and brother Bud Gilbert.
Memorials may be made to the Sublette Center in Pinedale; cards may be mailed to Judy Walker, 6589 Grant St., Chino, CA, 91710.
Cremation will be handled by Vase Funeral Home in Rock Springs. A memorial service will be conducted in the summer of 2004.
Carol Taylor
Carol Taylor, 67, died Nov. 19 at her home in Rock Springs after a short illness.
She was born June 23, 1936, in Syracuse, N.Y., the daughter of the late Jerome and Lucille Wilson Stoddard.
She attended schools in Minoa, N.Y. and graduated from Minoa High School with the class of 1954. She married
Alfred Taylor in 1954 in Eastwood, N.Y., and he preceded her in death in August.
She was employed at Rollaway Bearing in New York and as a kitchen aide at Castle Rock Convalescent in Green River, until her retirement in 1997.
She was a volunteer ambulance E.M.T. Southern Oswego Volunteer Ambulance Corp. in New York, and was a member of the Green River Alliance Church.
Her interests included her children, grandchildren, the outdoors, ceramics and cooking.
Survivors include two sons, Mark Taylor of Green River and Alan Taylor of Rock Springs; four daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn and David Dean of Casper, Nancy and Corey Hymas, Sandra and Calvin Page and Lori and Randy Koloff, all of Green River; two brothers, Robert Stoddard of Florida, and Alan Stoddard of North Carolina; one sister, Beverly Marziale of New York; 15 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Marilyn Whitehead.
Funeral services were yesterday at the Green River Alliance Church, Rev. Mike McConnell officiating.
Interment was in the Riverview cemetery in Green River.
Mary A. Peternell
Mary A. Peternell, 90, Rock Springs, passed away on Nov. 20, 2003, at the Sage View Care Center. A lifelong resident of Rock Springs, she died following an illness of four years.
She was born on Aug. 24, 1913, in Reliance, the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Kobler Peternel.
She attended schools in Rock Springs and was a graduate of the Rock Springs High School.
She was a United States Army Veteran of World War II having served with the WACs.
She had been employed by Mountain Bell Telephone as a telephone operator for many years.
She was a member of the Saints Cyril and Methodius Church, Telephone Pioneers, Catholic Golden Age, Young at Hearts Senior Citizens and Royal Neighbors.
Survivors include one brother, Frank Peternel and wife Melva of Rock Springs; one sister, Clara Tipp of Rock Springs; several nieces and nephews survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Frances Dernovich; her brother-in-law, George Tipp; and two nieces, Dianne Monroe and Barbara Ann Peternel.
The family of Mary A. Peternel will be receiving family and friends at the residence of Frank Peternel, 109 Pine Street, Rock Springs.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Nov. 25 at the Saints Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Rock Springs. Father John Savio officiated. A parish rosary was recited on Monday at the Vase Funeral Chapel in Rock Springs. Military Graveside services and interment was conducted by the American Legion Archie Hay Post #24 at the Paul J. Wataha Memorial Park cemetery.
Ingrid Zancanella
Ingrid Zancanella, 85, Bend, Ore., died Nov. 19 at the Eagle Inn Adult Care Center where she was a patient for two years.
She was born Feb. 26, 1918, in Wakefield, Mich., the daughter of the late Matt and Elda Pikka Kiviaho.
She attended school in Superior where she graduated from high school with the class of 1936.
She married
Leno Zancanella in 1939 in Rock Springs. He preceded her in death in 2000.
She was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church and enjoyed singing for weddings and funerals. She was also a member of the Madrigals, enjoyed playing bridge and was an excellent seamstress.
Survivors include three sons, John Zancanella and wife Barbara and Dan Zancanella and wife Terri, all of Rock Springs, and Michael Zancanella of Laramie; three daughters and sons-in-law, Julie and Dan Lyon of Evans, Ga., Carla and Gary Hoagland and Paula and Don Bradford, all of Bend, Ore.;12 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.
A mass of Christian burial was conducted Monday at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, Father John Savio officiating. Interment was in the Mountain View section of the Rock Springs Municipal cemetery.
Glen Alfred Larson
Glen Alfred Larson, 83, Torrington, died Sept. 12 at the Castle Rock Convalescent Center.
He was born April 11, 1920, in Cokeville, the son of the late Albert John and Bertha Lorraine Twiss Larson.
He attended schools there and married
Sadie Mae Patterson Twiss in 1943.
He was a retired rancher and a member of the Episcopal Church.
Survivors include his wife of Torrington; one son and daughter-in-law, Stanley C. and Eileen Larson of Torrington; one daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Jack Lloyd of Rock Springs; one brother, Don Larson and wife Bonnie of Cokeville; two sisters, Mae Jean Julian of Kemmerer and Frieda Jackson of Salt Lake City; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, several cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, one sister and three daughters.
Following cremation a memorial service was conducted yesterday in Cokeville.
James "Jim" Franklin McCoy
James "Jim" Franklin McCoy, 55, died Dec. 14 at his residence in Waxahachie, Texas.
He was born in Waxahachie to Jasper Franklin and Margie Ruth Keenom McCoy. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran from 1967-1971. He was also a tank commander in the National Guard and was a licensed private pilot.
He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Italy, Texas.
He married
Rebecca Boswell in 1979 and she preceded him in death.
He is survived by his parents; one son, Aaron Colley McCoy, also of Waxahachie; two sisters, Kathi Marie McCoy of Richardson and Connie Sue Wiley and husband Steve of Italy, Texas; and numerous cousins.
A Celebration of Life was today in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Brother Ted Tedford and Rev. Thomas Daugherty officiating.
Interment was in Lakeview cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
Robert "Bob" Earl Hughes
Robert "Bob" Earl Hughes, 83, died Dec. 11.
He was born Aug. 12, 1920, in Spanish Fork, the son of the late Robert M. and Ethel Smith Hughes.
He married
Dorris Dixon in 1943 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They resided in Bakersfield, Calif. where he worked for United Airlines. When he retired, they moved to Green River, then Evanston, then Orem, Utah and eventually to Pleasant Grove, Utah.
He was an active member of the LDS Church and faithfully served in many callings. He most enjoyed being an adult Sunday school teacher and family history director. He served a full time mission in Louisiana and another mission with his wife in Mississippi.
His hobbies included genealogy, camping, fishing, gardening, woodworking, and gospel study.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly and Ray DeGooyer of Grand Junction, Colo., Glenna and Dennis Smith of Pleasant Grove, Utah, Linda and Ken Brailsford of Orem, Utah; two sons and daughters-in-law, and Robert and MaryLou Hughes of Evanston, and Bryan and Kelly Hughes of Green River; 27 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jay and Arva Hughes of St. George, Utah, and Gene and Kristine Hughes of Provo, Utah; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Ethelyn and Ed Peterson of Boulder City, Nev. and Geraldine and Larry Bailey of Monticello, Utah.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, three brothers, and a daughter-in-law.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday in the LDS Grove Creek Stake Center. Interment was in the Spanish Fork cemetery.
Services were under the direction of Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary of Orem.
Anastasia Ann Karellas
Anastasia Ann Karellas, 84, Pocatello, Idaho, died Dec. 13 following a lengthy illness.
She was born Aug. 29, 1919, in Green River, the daughter of the late James and Efthimia Kalivas.
She attended schools in Green River and married
Gust Karellas in 1939. He preceded her in death in 1958.
She worked for Kraft Cheese in Pocatello. She was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church.
Survivors include two daughters; Jo Ann Morris, and Effie Kaufman and husband Ray; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Steve and Donna Kalivas and George and Georgia Kalivas, all of Green River, Gust and Mary Kalivas and Bill and Cheryl Kalivas; three granddaughters, one grandson, one great-grandson, several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers and a grandson.
Funeral services were conducted today at the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church in Pocatello. interment was at the Mountain View cemetery in Pocatello.
Memorials may be made to St. Constantine and Helen Building project, 2618 W. Bannock St, Boise, Idaho, 83702.
Sadie Mae Larson
Sadie Mae Larson, 91, Green River, died Dec. 6, 2004 at the Castle Rock Convalescent Center where she had been a resident for the past three months.
She was born May 10, 1912, in Stapleton, Neb., the daughter of the late Frank LeRoy and Maude Elizabeth Draper Patterson.
She married
Glenn A. Larson in Paris, Idaho, in 1943 and he preceded her in death on Sept. 12.
She was a self-employed rancher and a member of the Episcopal Church in Cokeville.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Stanley G. and Eileen Larson of Cokeville, Marvin and JoAnn Twiss of Sheridan and Gene and Joyce Twiss of Portland; two daughters, Betty J. Lloyd and husband Jack of Rock Springs and Glenna Anderson of Sheridan; 17 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters, three daughters, Barbara Ann, Sandra Mae, and Cheryl Lynn; four grandsons and one great-grandson.

Sadie Mae Larson
Memorial services for Sadie Mae Larson, 91, Green River, will be conducted Dec. 19 at the Episcopal Church in Cokeville at noon.
She died Dec. 6, 2004 at the Castle Rock Convalescent Center where she had been a resident for the past three months.
