Robert Yancey Shane Marang
Robert Yancey Shane Marang, 37, died April 19 from injuries sustained in an auto accident near Maybell, Colorado.
He was born March 14, 1966, the son of Annette James Curry and Dale Marang in Kellogg, Idaho. He graduated from Kellogg High School with the class of 1984 and served two terms in the U.S. Air Force. He married
Lynn Ann Robey in Maryland in 1986. He was employed with Power Chokes Inc. in Rock Springs.
His interests included spending time with his girls, collecting things, camping, and fishing.
Survivors include his wife Lynn Marang of Superior; three daughters, Amanda Marie, Krystal Dawn, and Brooke Ann of Superior; his father, Dale Marang of Spokane, Wash.; his mother Annette and stepfather William "Bill" James of Pinehurst, Idaho; one brother, Jody Quinn Marang of Smelterville, Idaho; two grandmothers, Wanda Curry of Pinehurst, Idaho, Helen Gafford of Spokane, Wash.; several aunts, uncles, numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services and military honors will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs, where friends may call 6-8 p.m. this evening. Cremation will take place at Fox Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Robert YS Marang Memorial Fund at North Side State Bank, 601 N. Front Street, Rock Springs 82901.
Carl Cilensek
Carl Cilensek, 70, of Rock Springs died Tuesday, at his home after having been in ill health for the past two months.
He was born Dec. 8, 1930, in Rock Springs the son of the late Frank and Frances Cilensek. He attended schools in Rock Springs, and married
Shirley Meyer in 1957 in Green River.
He served in the United States Air force during the Korean Conflict.
He worked as a carpenter for Superior Lumber Company until 1967 when he started Cilensek Construction Company. He was the owner and operator for many years until his retirement.
He was a member of the Saint Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church and enjoyed spending time at his cabin north of Pinedale with his family, hunting, fishing, playing cards, and whittling wood.
Survivors include his wife of Rock Springs; one son, Rick Cilensek of Rock Springs; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Bill Current of Rock Springs and Cheryl and Patrick Harrelson of Sheridan; one brother, Frank Cilensek of Rock Springs; five sisters, Frances Liska and Elsie Zelenka, both of Rock Springs, Mary Schreck, Louise Cilensek and Ursula Fletcher, all of Ogden, Utah; five grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Gary Cilensek, and one sister, Jeanne Stanton.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. tomorrow at the Saints Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Rock Springs. Father Tom Sheridan will officiate.
A Parish Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. tonight at the church. Interment will be in the St. Joseph's Section of the Rock Springs Municipal cemetery. Friends may call at the Vase Funeral Chapel this afternoon until 4 p.m. and at the church from 5-8 p.m. and Friday until time of services.
John Granaas, 85
John Martin Granaas, 85, of Rock Springs, died on Dec. 28 at the Sage View Care Center where he had been a patient for the past five years.
He was born Oct. 30, 1916, in Garrison, S.D., the son of the late Gust and Anna Swenson Granaas.
He attended schools in Garrison and was a graduate of the high school there.
He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II.
He married
Julia Barnick Carlson in Cheyenne in 1995.
He was employed by FMC for 26 years until his retirement in 1981.
He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, American Legion Archie Hay Post 24, and the Young at Heart Senior Citizen's Center.
He enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of Rock Springs; two step-sons, Donald Carlson of Cheyenne and E. Dennis Carlson of Rock Springs; eight grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and two nephews, Robert Granaas and Stanley Granaas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Floyd Granaas.
Following cremation at the Vase White Mountain Crematory, memorial services were conducted yesterday at the Vase Funeral Chapel in Rock Springs with Father John Savio officiating. Military graveside services and interment was in the Paul J. Wataha Memorial Park cemetery.
The family requests that donations in his memory be made to the charity of choice.
Donald Oliver Taylor, 79
Donald Oliver Taylor, 79, of Brevard, N.C., died Feb. 9.
A former resident of Green River, he died at his home after having been in ill health for the past two years.
He was born Dec. 18, 1922, in Oil City, Pa., the son of Charles and Iva Taylor. He graduated from college with a bachelor of science degree in metallurgy and a P.E. license.
He served in World War II in the 82nd Airborne Division and received the Bronze Star in Holland.
He was employed by Allied Chemical as a metallurgical engineer. He retired in 1976. He was employed by Aramco Oil Co., Saudi Arabia for 10 years as division manager.
His interests included camping, woodworking, and world traveling.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Taylor of North Carolina; one sister, Phyllis Lewis and husband, Jack, of Ohio; two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Marge Taylor of New Jersey and Dave and Gail Taylor of Green River; one stepson, Chris Gish of North Carolina and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Audrey Taylor.
A memorial service will take place at the Methodist Church in Green River at 3 p.m. tomorrow.
Stanley Fabian, 86
Stanley William Fabian, 86, of Rock Springs, died Saturday at his home after having been in ill health for the past year.
He was born Dec. 10, 1915 in Cumberland and was a graduate of the Superior High School with the Class of 1932.
He married
Virginia Zukowski in Rock Springs in 1938.
He was employed by the Union Pacific Coal Company as a coal miner form 1934 to 1962. He then went to work as a trona miner for FMC Corporation from 1962 until he retired in 1979.
He was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church and the SNPJ Lodge. His hobbies included baseball, golf, bowling, camping, arrowhead hunting, fishing and hunting. He was an avid Wyoming Cowboy's athletics fan.
Survivors include his wife of Rock Springs; three sons and daughters-in-law, George and Jackie Fabian of Green River, Stanley and Linda Fabian of Eufaula, Okla. and John and Leticia Fabian of Rock Springs; one daughter, Janice Pivik of Gillette; one brother, Thomas Fabian of Cheyenne; four sisters, Julia Fenn of Roy, Utah, Helen Siegel of Cheyenne, Margaret Cieluszak of Rock Springs and Dorothy Kallos of Ogden; six grandchildren, four great grandchildren; one cousin and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Mary Matson, Susie Jablin and Rose Fabian one brother, George Fabian.
Following cremation at the Vase White Mountain Crematory, memorial services were conducted this morning at the Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church with Father John Savio officiating.
The family requests that donations in his memory be made to Hospice of Sweetwater County.
Jack Teters, 83
Jack Teters, 83, Rock Springs, passed away on Saturday at his home. A longtime Rock Springs resident, he had been in ill health for the past six months.
He was born on July 30, 1919, in Green River on a ranch, the son of the late Charles Alexander and Amelia Prestoptz.
He attended schools in Rock Springs.
He married
Margaret Shedden and she preceded him in death. He later married
Betty June Case in Rock Springs.
He was employed by Mountain Fuel Supply Company for many years.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie #151 and the International Order of the Odd Fellows.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Teters of Rock Springs; two sons, Chuck Teters and wife Bonnie of Rock Springs and Robert J. Teters and wife Linda of Fayetteville, Ark.; two step-sons, James C. Lamb of Steigler, Okla., and Perry Lamb of Texas; one daughter, Marilyn Lee and husband Dick of Rock Springs; six sisters, Arlie Radosevich and husband Steve Radosevich of Rock Springs, Hazel Overy of Rock Springs, Claris Nellen of Rock Springs, Dorothy Moon of St. George, Utah, Thelma Armstrong of Thayer, Miss., and Amelia Hmenia and husband John of Rock Springs; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Margaret; two brothers, Valentine and Bob.
Funeral services were conducted this afternoon at 1 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Rock Springs. Interment took place in the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
Della Faye Adkins Husman, 63
Della Faye Adkins Husman, 63, of Green River, died Nov. 4 at her daughter's home in Lancaster, Calif.
She was born July 19, 1939, in Arroll, Mo., the daughter of the late William Adkins and Dollie Cobble Adkins. They moved to Laramie in 1945 and she graduated from Laramie High School in 1958. She graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1964.
She taught in Elk Mountain, Arapahoe and in Green River School Districts as a special education teacher.
She is survived by her daughter and granddaughter, Alveria DeWester and Enjoli DeWester of Lancaster, Calif.; one brother, Austin "Ace" Adkins of Laramie; one sister, Elia Wave Nelson of Laramie; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Oscar, Archie and William Adkins.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Grace Baptist Church with Rev. Burl DeLong officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill cemetery.
A memorial service will be at 4:30 p.m. Monday at Lincoln Middle School in Green River with Doug Wray officiating.

Mary Nix, 69
Mary E. Nix, 69, Green River, passed away on Saturday at the Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County in Rock Springs. She was a resident of Green River for the past 12 years and former resident of Butte, Mont.
She was born on July 14, 1933, in Polk County, Wis., the daughter of Elon and Emma Streich Cripps.
She attended schools in Minnesota.
She married
Rolland Nix in Brainerd, Minn., in 1959 and he preceded her in death in 1991.
Survivors include two sons, Myron Cripps and wife Linda of Green River, and Dale Fleischacker and wife Cheryl of Rock Springs; one daughter, Barbara Judd and husband Andy; three brothers, Willie Cripps of Washington, Clarence Cripps and Reinhold Cripps, both of Minnesota; four sisters, Lena Sontag of Pocatello, Idaho, Delores Olds of Fifty Lakes, Minn., Margaret Mich of Brooklyn Park, Minn. and Evelyn Verville of Hopkins, Minn.; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Following cremation at the Vase White Mountain Crematory, memorial services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at the Vase Flaming Gorge Chapel, 263 East Flaming Gorge Way, Green River. Pastor Russ Daines will conduct the services. Friends may call at the chapel Friday one hour prior to services.
Elizabeth "Liz" Mosbey
Elizabeth "Liz" Mosbey, 85, of Rock Springs, died last Thursday at the Castle Rock Convalescent Center in Green River after having been in ill heath for the past several years.
She was born Oct. 9, 1915 in Clark County, Iowa, the daughter of the late William and Jesse Clowser McClure.
She attended schools in Chariton, Iowa and was a graduate of the high school there.
She married
Herbert "Mose" Mosbey in 1942 in Charlton. He preceded her in death in 1978.
She owned and operated the Nan Thompson Clothing Store for 17 years until she retired in 1991.
Survivors included one son, Michael Mosbey and wife, Patricia, of Rock Springs and one daughter, Susan Welsh, also of Rock Springs; six grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and five sisters.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday at the Vase Funeral Chapel, Father Tom Sheridan officiating. Interment was in the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
Dorothy Larsen
Dorothy Larsen, 84, of Rock Springs, died Sept. 12 at the L.D.S. Hospital in Salt Lake City following a sudden illness.
She was born Aug. 8, 1917, in Louisville, Colo., the daughter of the late Michael and Suzanna Petrun Motichka.
She attended schools in Lyman and was a graduate of the Lyman High School.
She married
Dellas Larsen in Manila in 1936 and their marriage was later blessed in the St. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church. He preceded in death in 1995.
She was a member of the St. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church.
She was an avid reader.
Survivors include two brothers-in-law, John Rodzinak of Rock Springs and Donald and Esther Larsen of Manila, Utah; three sisters-in-law; Jeanette Motichka of Rock Springs, Mary Motichka of Glenwood Springs, Colo. and LaPriel Rounds of Cheyenne; two nieces, Dolores Fermelia and husband, Ed, of Rock Springs, and Patty Parkes of Ogden, Utah., one nephew, James Tynsky of Rock Springs, several other nieces and nephews and a special friend, Karen Abel, of Lyman.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers; Michael Motichka, Andrew Motichka, John Motichka, and George Motichka and three sisters; Mary Tynsky, Margaret Kidman and Ann Rodzinak.

Mark Lee Staley, age 39
Mark Lee Staley, age 39, of Mountain View died Feb. 11, in Trinidad, West Indies.
He was born July 5, 1962, in Ogden, Utah, to Spencer Earl and Carolyn Bates Staley.
He married
Bobbie Jean Phillips and they later divorced.
He was employed by B.S.I. as a Safety Engineer and worked in the natural gas industry.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, camping and golfing.
Survivors include his parents of Thayne; one daughter, Brandie Jean Staley of Gillette; brothers Lavele Staley and wife Pam, of Mountain View, Russell Staley and wife Debbie, of Las Vegas, David Staley and wife, Mary of Salt Lake City and Todd Staley and wife, Amy; one sister, Sandra Pitts and husband, La Var, of Susanville, Calif., and grandmother Bernice Bates of Morgan, Utah.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday in the Mountain View LDS Church. Interment followed in the Fort Bridger cemetery under the direction of Crandall Funeral Home of Evanston.
A memorial service was also conducted in Trinidad. In lieu of flowers, donations to a memorial fund at the Wells Fargo Bank in Lyman would be very appreciated.
Jon Fredrick Corona, 45
Jon Fredrick Corona, 45, of Rock Springs passed away Nov. 9 at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City following an automobile accident.
He was born July 7, 1957, in Patterson, Calif., the son of Clifton and Betty Ann Jones Corona.
He attended schools in Douglas, Ariz. where he graduated with the class of 1975.
He married
the former Cynthia Renee Morton in Superior in 1981.
He was employed as a mechanic at Bridger Coal Company where he had been employed for 25 years.
He was the Sweetwater County Fair swine superintendent, a member of 4-H, Boilermaker's Union and Snow Pokes Snowmachine Club.
Survivors include his wife; his mother; one son, Joseph William Corona; two daughters Melinda Lorraine and Donna Lois Corona, all of Rock Springs; one sister, Vicky Dean Swart and husband Scott of Portland; one grandson; several aunts, uncles, cousins ; one niece, one nephew and two great nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services were conducted this morning at the Sweetwater County Events Complex. Rev. Jim Copelin and Elder Mike Newman conducted the services. Interment was in the Viola cemetery in LaBarge.
