Katherine B. Bass, 80, of Cheyenne died Oct. 9 in Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.
She was born March 10, 1926, in Manhattan, N.Y.
She married
William F. Bass on Nov. 4, 1950, in Cranford, N.J.
Mrs. Bass was a legal secretary for her husband's law practice.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Bass is survived by a son, Thomas Bass of Cheyenne; two daughters, Sarah Bass of Clark, N.J., and Susan Bass of San Jose, Calif.; a sister, Sarah Decker of Somerset, N.J.; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William F. Bass; and her parents, John and Mildred (Kenney) Brooks.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
Cremation-Schrader's Sunset Park Crematory.

Gilbert L. Crumrine
1921-2006
Gilbert L. Crumrine, 85, of Cheyenne, died Oct. 7.
He was born June 2, 1921, in Baileyville, Kan., and had lived here since 1974.
Mr. Crumrine was a service technician and the service manager for Montgomery Wards and had served in the Army. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, the Elks and VFW Post 4343.
Mr. Crumrine is survived by his wife, Eloise H. Crumrine of Cheyenne, whom he married
June 25, 1950, in Topeka, Kan.; two daughters, Diane Milatzo of Cheyenne and Geraldine Harris of Jalon, Calif.; and one sister, Wilma Pearson of Herington, Kan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Margaret Crumrine; and one son, James Crumrine.
Vigil for the Deceased will be 7 p.m. Thursday at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.
Funeral Liturgy will be 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas Cronkleton as Celebrant.
Interment will be in Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Kili Harris, Steve Wood, Dan Pendlan, Jim Milatzo and Ken Kiper. Honorary pallbearer will be John Milatzo.
Friends may contribute to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center Hospice or Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Honor Guard.
Mary L. Ellsworth
1928-2006
Mary Lou Ellsworth, 78, of Cheyenne died Oct. 9 in Cheyenne.
She was born Sept. 14, 1928, in Burns and had lived in Cheyenne all of her life.
Mrs. Ellsworth was a bookkeeper for several places including Tyrrell Chevrolet and the F.E. Warren Air Force Base.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, the Retired Employees of First National Bank, American Legion Auxiliary, and VFW Auxiliary.
Mrs. Ellsworth is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Eddie and Stephen Hoadley of Cheyenne; two brothers, Larry Lovelass of Cheyenne and Robert Lovelass of Cedar City, Utah; four grandchildren and three grandchildren-in-law, Tom Hoadley, Stephanie and Bill Whegoner, and Jason and Sandy Adams all of Cheyenne and Jeff and Sara Adams of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death on April 3, 1992, by her husband, Merle Ellsworth, whom she married
Oct. 5, 1948, in Eugene, Ore.; a daughter, Cindy Lou Jurich in 1984; her parents, Louis and Bertha Lovelass; and a sister, Wanda Lockwood.
The funeral is 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel with the Rev. Jon Laughlin officiating.
Interment will follow in Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Tom Hoadley, Jason Adams, Jeff Adams, Brandon Adams, Bill Whegoner and Kris Lovelass. Honorary pallbearers will be all of her great-grandchildren.
Edna Aragon
1918-2006
Edna Aragon, 88, of Cheyenne died Oct. 8 in Cheyenne.
She was born March 18, 1918, in Timnath, Colo., to Otavio and Christina (Samora) Espinosa.
She married
Gabriel Aragon on March 20, 1983, in Brighton, Colo.
Mrs. Aragon was employed by various hospitals in the Denver area and retired with St. Luke's Hospital.
She is survived by a sister, Kate (Lopez) Cassel of Cheyenne; a brother, Moses Espinosa of Cheyenne; a half-brother, Toby Espinosa of Denver; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Mrs. Aragon was preceded in death by her husband, Gabriel; a brother, Ernest Espinosa; and a sister, Eloise Tellez.
Recitation of the Rosary will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Stoddard Funeral Home in Greeley, Colo., 3205 West 28th St.
Interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Gilbert B. Robbins
1913-2006
Gilbert B. Robbins, 93, died Oct. 7 at Cheyenne Life Care Center.
He was born Aug. 8, 1913, in Loveland, Colo., to Oscar and Zella Bennet Robbins.
Mr. Robbins moved to Cheyenne in 1932.
He married
Juanita Forsling on April 15, 1939.
Mr. Robbins worked as a personnel manager and comptroller for United Airlines, Land-Air Inc., Dynaelectron, and Ideal Aerosmith. In 1958, he served as a Wyoming representative on President Eisenhower's Committee for the Employment of the Handicapped. Following retirement, he volunteered with the Wyoming State Museum as a cabinetmaker and woodworker.
He was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church.
Mr. Robbins is survived by two sons, Philip Robbins of Casper and Bruce Robbins of Cheyenne; a daughter, Joyce Buckwalter of Virginia Beach, Va.; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; four brothers; and three sisters.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Ascension Lutheran Church.

Frank J. Stiefvater
1925-2006
Frank Junior Stiefvater, 80, of Rawlins died Oct. 7 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 9, 1925, in Verdel, Neb.
Mr. Stiefvater was a supervisor at Sinclair Pipeline.
He served in the Navy during World War II.
Mr. Stiefvater is survived by his wife, Alice Stiefvater of Rawlins, whom he married
June 23, 1950, in Hanna; a son, Larry Stiefvater of Rawlins; three daughters, Carolyn Cochran of Columbus, Mont., Vivian Gregg of Palmer, Alaska, and Jane Suschele of Sutton, Alaska; a brother, Norman Stiefvater of Cheyenne; five sisters, Marguerite Setright of Rawlins, Donna Mae Stiefvater of Columbus, Neb., Sharon Scholl of Denver, LaVonne Hanzlik of Verdel and Geraldine McManagil of Platte Center, Neb.; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Agnes Stiefvater; and a son, Michael Stiefvater.
Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.
Mildred Smeenk
1914-2006
Mildred Smeenk, 91, of Cheyenne, died Oct. 7 at Life Care Center.
She was born Nov. 13, 1914, in Chugwater.
Mrs. Smeenk was a retired teacher from Laramie County School District 1. She graduated from Iowa Center School, east of Chugwater.
She married
Henry Smeenk on Sept. 26, 1946, in Cheyenne.
Mrs. Smeenk was the first president of Bishops Guild, past member of Wyoming Business and Professional Women's Club, Delta Kappa Gamma, National Education Association, Wyoming Education Association, University of Wyoming Alumni Association and XJWC.
She is survived by a brother, Kenneth Kennedy of Wheatland; three sisters, Evelyn Kepford of Hickory, N.C., Dorothy Stafford of Chugwater and Bernice Jones of Cheyenne; and 10 nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Smeenk was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Smeenk; and parents, John and Laura Kennedy.
Funeral Liturgy will be 10:30 a.m. today at St. Mary's Cathedral with the Rev. Gary Ruzicka.
Burial will be at Beth El cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Robert Smeenk, Kevin Smeenk, Carl Kepford, Kirby Kepford, Bill Stafford, John Kennedy, Dan Kennedy and Derek MacLeod.

Dr. Carol F. Arnold
1918-2006
Dr. Carol F. (Palmer) Arnold, 88, of Loveland, Colo., died Oct. 16 in Loveland.
She was born Feb. 21, 1918, in Burns, lived in Cheyenne from 1966 to 1994 and also lived in Fort Collins, Colo., LaGrange and Torrington.
Dr. Arnold was an educator at Laramie County Community College, the University of Wyoming, Regis University and several public schools in Wyoming for 57 years.
She was a member of the Berean Church, American Association of University Women and Delta Kappa Gamma teaching sorority.
Dr. Arnold is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Minnaclaire Arnold of Tulsa, Okla.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Diana "Dede" and Max Beebe of Fort Collins and Jeanine "Nancy" and Jeral McDonald of Loveland, Colo.; a sister-in-law, Frances Palmer of Wheatland; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton "Bud" Arnold; six brothers, Stanley Palmer, Frank Palmer, Harry Palmer, Vernon Palmer, Merle Palmer and Bill Palmer; and four sisters, Esther Cook, Olive "Pat" Weekly, Bernice Emery and Nina Kaser.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the Cheyenne Berean Church with the Rev. Ronald J. Smithgall officiating. Interment will follow in the LaGrange cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Arnold, Matthew Caleb Arnold, Brett Beebe, Bob Nab, Alan Sisneros and Steve McHugh.

Harold G. Ray
1931-2006
Harold G. Ray, 75, of Greeley, Colo., died Oct. 16 at North Colorado Medical Center.
Mr. Ray was born Feb. 24, 1931, in Elmo, Mo.
He was a plumber for Curtright Plumbing and Heating.
Mr. Ray was in the U.S. Army from Jan. 29, 1952, to Jan. 18, 1954. He received the Occupational Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars in Greeley.
Mr. Ray is survived by two sons, Roy Ray and William Ray; two sisters, Vickie Hahn and Donna Johnson; a brother, Bud Ray of Shenandoah, Iowa; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Ray Sr.; and mother, Erma E. Ray.
A celebration of life will be held in Cheyenne at a later date.
Lorraine W. Backus
1923-2006
Lorraine W. Backus, 83, of Cheyenne died Oct. 17 in Carpenter.
She was born April 28, 1923, in Douglas and had lived here most of her life.
She was a legal secretary for the State of Wyoming Public Service Commission and retired after 26 years.
She was a member of the American Legion for 53 years and First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Jay Backus of Waltman, and Casey Backus of Idaho; a daughter, Anita Backus of Carpenter; a brother, Charles A. Weaver of Fort Collins, Colo.; two grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Marie (Moore) Weaver; an infant brother, Charles E. Weaver; and a sister, Jacqueline Barton.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel, with the Rev. Robert Walkley officiating.
Interment will be in Beth
