Jacqueline Hutchison

1948-2006

Jacqueline Hutchison, 58, died Sept. 15 in Vancouver, Wash.

She was born March 8, 1948, in Detroit, to Jack and Evalyn Wurtz. Jacqueline lived in Cheyenne until 1991 when she moved to Fort Collins, Colo., then in 1997, she and her husband moved to Vancouver.

Jacqueline is survived by her husband, Larry, of Vancouver; her son, David Almodovar, his wife, Julie and their two children, Toran and Brynn, of West Lynn, Ore.; her parents, Bob and Evalyn Johnson of Cheyenne; three brothers, Bobby Johnson and his wife, Natalie, of Lakewood, Colo., Gerry Schmidt and his wife, Robin, of Cheyenne, Gene Schmidt and his wife, Rhonda, of Cheyenne; two sisters, Jere Finley of Granby, Colo., and Anne Schmidt of Cheyenne; and Jacqueline's best friend, Cheryl Wilson, of Cheyenne.

Jacqueline was preceded in death by her brother, Arthur "Buddy" Schmidt and both her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Cremation has taken place. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Wayne K. Thrasher

1958-2006

Wayne K. Thrasher, 48, of Cheyenne died Sept. 15, in Cheyenne.

Mr. Thrasher was born May 16, 1958, in Boise, Idaho.

He retired in 1996 from the U.S. Air Force.

Mr. Thrasher is survived by two daughters, Chrissy Orling of Puyallup, Wash., and Kimberly Frentheway of Cheyenne; his father, Wayne F. Thrasher of Blythe, Calif.; a brother, Doug Thrasher of Mesa, Ariz.; a sister, Robyn Kip of Riverside, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lila Thrasher.

A private family service will be held. Friends may contribute to the American Heart Association.

Eleanor O. Trujillo

1921-2006

Eleanor O. Trujillo, 84, of Cheyenne died Sept. 18 at United Medical Center-West.

Eleanor was born on Nov. 19, 1921, in Ledoux, N.M., and moved to Cheyenne with her husband in 1940 where she lived the remainder of her life.

She was a homemaker and worked at United Medical Center for 10 years until her retirement.

Eleanor is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Annette and Frank Valdez; a stepdaughter, Betty Ortega; five grandchildren, Caroline Ross, Brenda Trujillo, Richard Trujillo Jr., Nathan Trujillo and Frank Valdez Jr.; three stepgrandchildren, Ernie Martinez, Larry Ortega and Ronnie Ortega; 10 great-grandchildren, Krista Ross, Micayla Ross, Juliana Ross, Emma Valdez, Madeline Valdez, Miyanna Trujillo, Zachary Trujillo, Nicholas Trujillo, Marissa Trujillo and Marinda Trujillo; and two sisters, Bertha Naranjo and Della Fresquez.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Anastacio "Joe" Trujillo; two sons, Joe Trujillo Jr., and Richard Trujillo; her parents, Daniel and Rebecca Abeyta; and three brothers, Henry Abeyta, Richard Abeyta and Joe Abeyta.

Funeral Liturgy will be 9:30 a.m. today at St. Mary's Cathedral with the Rev. Michael Carr as celebrant.

Casketbearers will be her grandchildren, Caroline Ross, Brenda Trujillo, Richard Trujillo, Jr., Nathan Trujillo, Frank Valdez, Jr. and Jonathan Ross.

Interment will follow in Olivet cemetery.

Karen S. Hall

1952-2006

Karen Sue Hall, 53, of Burns died Sept. 18, in Burns.

She was born Nov. 10, 1952, in Greeley and was a veterinary technician.

She is survived by two sons, Charles C. Campbell of Burns and William Art Campbell of Mobridge, S.D.; three brothers, Michael Hall of Ault, Colo., Kerry Lynn Hall of Hillsdale and Dale Hall of Grover, Colo.; two sisters, Audrey Diana Twitchell of Laramie, and Vicki June Ditsch of Cheyenne; and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur P. and Marian C. (Myers) Hall and a brother, Gary Dean Hall.

Private family services will be held.

Quince R. Olsen

1964-2006

Quince Ray Olsen, 42, of Burns died Sept. 20 in Pine Bluffs.

He was born Aug. 4, 1964, in Cheyenne.

Mr. Olsen was a consumer protection specialist, lead inspector for the state of Wyoming Department of Agriculture, Technical services (Weight & Measures).

He attended the First Christian Church.

Mr. Olsen attended Laramie County Community College and the University of Wyoming on scholarships, with his activities and achievements obtained from the learning and experiences that he acquired during his years of involvement with FFA and 4-H. He was on the livestock and meats judging teams both at LCCC and UW. Mr. Olsen graduated with a bachelor's degree in agriculture, specifically meat science, food science and a master's degree in ruminant nutrition. His thesis: "The Effects of Chromium Picolinate on Feeding, Growth and Carcass Characteristics of Growth of Lambs."

Mr. Olsen was a youth member of FFA and 4-H and continued throughout his adult life to support the youth in those organizations. He was a 4-H Club leader for the meats judging teams, a member and rater for the horse levels group; a member of Cheyenne Regulators, NRA and an active conservationist, rancher and horseman and an avid outdoorsman and hunter. He loved to cook, as well as being a loving, devoted husband and father.

He is survived by his wife, Sonja K. Olsen, whom he married March 6, 1993, in Pine Bluffs; a daughter, Kaycee M. Olsen of Burns; his father, Gerald C. Olsen of Kimball, Neb.; his grandmother, Doris G. Olsen of Kimball; his mother, Nora F. (Miller) Buxbaum of Las Vegas, Nev.; two brothers, Julian Rael of Maryland and Tony Rael of Las Vegas; and a sister, Melissa "Missy" Forsman of Texas.

The memorial service is 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cheyenne Hills Church, 7505 Hwy. 30, Cheyenne, with the Rev. Kurt Borgaard officiating.

Theresa J. Giles

1963-2006

Theresa Jean Giles, 43, of Cheyenne died Sept. 24 in Cheyenne.

She was born Aug. 19, 1963 in Sheridan.

She was a nurse at the Dialysis Center.

She is survived by a daughter, Melanie Giles of Cheyenne; her father, Ken Elliott of Sheridan; and two brothers, Mark Elliott of Gillette and Ken Elliott Jr. of Fairbanks, Alaska.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Carol Elliott.

Private family services will be held in Sheridan at a later date.

Ethel M. Ferguson

1927-2006

Ethel M. Ferguson, 79, of Cheyenne died Sept. 24 at United Medical Center-West.

She was born July 30, 1927, in Cheyenne.

Mrs. Ferguson was a homemaker.

She married William Wallace Ferguson in 1975 in Cheyenne.

She was a member of First Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, Ronald Major of San Diego; a daughter, Linda Lou Cobia of Sumrall, Miss.; a brother, David Bussard of Cheyenne; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mrs. Ferguson was preceded in death by her husband, William W. Ferguson; her parents, Samuel Jackson and Zelma (Goss) Bussard; three brothers; and one sister.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. today at Schrader Chapel with Pastor James E. Watson Sr. officiating.

Cremation is at Schrader's Sunset Park Crematory.

Richard C. Williams

1914-2006

Richard Collins Williams, 92, died Sept. 22 at Laramie Care Center in Laramie.

He was born on June 7, 1914, in Laramie to Arthur H. and Minnie (Collins) Williams.

His paternal grandparents were W.R. and Maggie Williams, some of the first settlers in the Tie Siding area. His maternal grandparents, Fred and Helen Collins were pioneers in the Sand Creek area.

Mr. Williams was raised and spent his life on the AX Ranch, which was homesteaded by his father.

He received his grade-school education at the Pine Ridge, a rural school located on the ranch, attended Laramie High School and graduated in 1932.

He married Augusta (Gussie) Norell on Sept. 12, 1937. They had three daughters.

After his marriage, Mr. Williams worked for his widowed mother on the AX Ranch. In 1946, he purchased the ranch and gradually made many improvements and added land to the original homestead. He was well known for his Black Angus cattle. He was a very diligent protector of the natural resources and was very aware of the earth, water and wildlife aspect of daily ranching life. The AX Ranch was his life and, next to his family, his love. The ranch was sold in 2002.

For many years he was the local area brand inspector and served on the local school district board. He was on the Albany County Soil Conservation committee and served on the FHA board. He and his wife traveled to South America on a Cattleman's tour, to Canada to the site of his paternal grandparent's homes, and to Australia. He and his wife traveled Wyoming attending Eastern Star meetings when his wife was a grand officer and attended Eastern Star Grand Chapter each year.

Mr. Williams enjoyed his family and was very proud of them and their families. All the grandchildren spent as much time as possible on the ranch with Grannie and Granddad. Grandkids would spend the entire summer if possible.

He was very active in Masonic Organizations. He initiated the Shrine Beef Caravan in 1971. Local Shrine clubs would donate beef animals to the Shriners Hospital in Salt Lake City. In the fall several Shrine ranchers would take their trailers and haul the beef animals to Salt Lake City. They timed the trip to coincide with the Wyoming/Utah football game. Richard and Gussie enjoyed the trips, the football games and looked forward to it each year. They were very dedicated to the Shriners Hospital as well as the Cathedral Home for Children in Laramie.

Richard Williams was active in many organizations which included the Pole Mountain Cattle Association, Albany County Stockgrowers, Wyoming Stockgrowers, Wyoming Farm Bureau, Soil Conservation District, was a life member of Elks Lodge No. 582, Past Associate Guardian of Bethel No. 44, Job's Daughters; Gem City Lodge No. 52 AF and AM, York Rite Bodies, Korein Temple, Laramie Shrine Club, Wyoming Consistory No. 1, Order of the Jesters, he was a Past Patron of Snowy Range Chapter No. 45; was a life member of the Virginia Dale Community Club, and a 50-year member of Gem City Lodge No. 52 A.F. & A.M.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Fredrick Williams; Augusta (Gussie), his wife of 67 years; and grandsons, Kelly Ray Houchin and Ashley Gary Mathisen.

He is survived by daughters Dixie Mathisen, Julie and husband Duane Houchin, all of Laramie, Lynn Williams-Haas and husband, Dennis, of Cheyenne; grandchildren, Amber Mathisen of Laramie, Corey and Angela Houchin; and great-grandsons, Brennon and Kyle Houchin of Eaton, Colo., Jim Warfield of Laramie, Jason Warfield of Fort Calhoun, Neb.; Karla and David Tow; great-granddaughter Skye Houchin of Dysart, Iowa; and niece, Elizabeth Dearth of Mattawan, Mich.

Services are under the direction of Montgomery Stryker Funeral Home and will be 2 p.m. Friday in Laramie.

Pallbearers will be Corey Houchin, Jim Warfield, Jason Warfield, Gary Mathisen, Duane Houchin and Ted Warfield.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. until service time on Friday at Montgomery-Stryker Funeral Home.

Cindy D. Brown

1956-2006

Cindy D. Brown, 49 of Cheyenne died Sept. 23 at the United Medical Center-West in Cheyenne.

She was born in Cheyenne on Oct. 25, 1956.

She has been a life long resident of Cheyenne and worked in the grocery business in the meat department.

Mrs. Brown is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Colby and Selena Willett of Cheyenne; one daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Rodney Massengill of Cheyenne; five grandchildren, Jalen Willett, Chayce Willett, Trystan Massengill, Brianna Massengill and Riley Massengill; one sister, Suzanne McLam of Moscow, Idaho; one brother, Steve Brown and one very good friend, Frank Carrera of Cheyenne.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Barbara Brown and by one brother, Robert "Butch" Brown.

Cindy will be greatly missed by those who know and loved her.

Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.

Private memorial services will be conducted at a later date.

Services are under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.

Eleanor E. Allaback

1917-2006

Eleanor E. Allaback, 89, of Carpenter died Sept. 22 in Carpenter.

She was born July 10, 1917, in Adair County, Iowa.

She was a homemaker.

She married Marion Dayton Allaback on May 12, 1941, in Kimball, Neb.

She is survived by her son, Ronald D. Allaback of Newcastle; a daughter, Connie M. and Rudy Breeden of Carpenter; a sister, Ruth Means of Fontanelle, Iowa; niece and nephew, Candy and Tom Marchese of Omaha, Neb., Marion Reeder of Carpenter and Glenn and Patty Allaback of Reno, Nev.; grandchildren, Kyle and Tippy Breeden, Misty and Blair Balls, all of Carpenter; great-grandchildren, Jacobi Balls, Emily Breeden, Brittany Balls, Kenny Balls and Royce Breeden, all of Carpenter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Dayton Allaback on March 17, 1981; her parents, Edwin and Mary Glade; a brother, Keith Glade, during World War II; and a nephew, Marvin Reeder.

A graveside service will be 10 a.m. Friday at Carpenter cemetery.

Burial will be in Carpenter cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Blair Balls, Rudy Breeden, Kyle Breeden, Larry Hinker, Buster Childers and Jeff Rhoades.

Honorary pallbearers will be Henry Miller, Marion Reeder, Carl Johnson, Richard Miller and Tom Marchese.

Friends may contribute to the Carpenter cemetery Association.
