Margaret H. Groves
1926-2006
Margaret Hattie Groves, 79, of Giddings, Texas died Jan. 15.
She was born Nov. 15, 1926, in Weiser, Idaho, to Myron and Susan Towel Paradis.
She married
Eugene Chalfant on June 14, 1947. He died in 1967. She then married
James Groves on Dec. 27, 1970.
She was a telephone operator before marriage, and cooked at both the Flagstaff Caf‚ and the Canyon Lodge in Ten Sleep. She enjoyed cooking and was an avid reader. She volunteered at Arp Elementary school in Cheyenne. She was active in the Moose Lodge in both Cheyenne and Gillette, before moving to Texas in 1987.
She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting, embroidering and ceramics.
She is survived by her husband, James Groves of Sealy, Texas; six sons, Richard Chalfant of Utah, Kevin Chalfant of Texas, Mark Groves of Florida, Bryan Groves, Cory Groves and Jeffrey "Shane" Groves, all of Nebraska; five daughters, Linda DeBos of Oregon, Cyndi Patras of Cheyenne, Debbie Mertz of Utah, Connie Debler of California and Laura Block of Arkansas; 38 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Huck "Homer" Paradis and Darrell Paradis of Idaho and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jerry Chalfant; two brothers, Marvin and James Paradis and one grandson.
A memorial service will be held Monday at the Circle J Ranch in Ten Sleep.
Mary I. Gulbranson
1926-2006
Mary Ingeborg Gulbranson, 80, of Cheyenne died June 29, at Cheyenne Health Care Center.
Mrs. Gulbranson was born Feb. 11, 1926, to Iver J. and Mamie F. Gunderson in Colton, S.D.
She was raised in South Dakota, graduating from Hayti High School in 1945.
She married
Norman G. Gulbranson on June 16, 1947, in Luverne, Minn. They lived for eight years in Pickstown, S.D., 40 years in Omaha, Neb., and moved to Cheyenne in 1995. A homemaker, Mary devoted her life to her husband and family.
She was a wonderful cook and often welcomed her family home with the smell of freshly baked bread. She was an accomplished seamstress, teaching tailoring classes for the Adult Education Program for the Omaha Public School District for 10 years. She also enjoyed knitting, gardening, oil painting, refinishing and upholstering furniture and working with stained glass.
Mary is survived by two sons, Gary Gulbranson and his wife, Renate of Monrovia, Md., and Alan Gulbranson of Ferndale, Wash.; a daughter and her husband, Linda and Rick Hunnicutt of Cheyenne; a sister, Darlene Gulseth of Cheyenne; two brothers, Elmer Gunderson of Abilene, Texas and Howard Gunderson of Watertown, S.D.; and six grandchildren, Astrid Gulbranson of Germantown, Md., Janice Ayres of Cheyenne, Mathea Jacobs of Erie, Penn., Angela Gulbranson and Nicholas Gulbranson, both of Ferndale, Wash., and Alison Hunnicutt of Avon, Conn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and an infant brother.
Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Robert Miskimen officiating.
Interment will be in Beth El cemetery.
Friends may contribute to the Parkinsons Association. Services are under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
Philip L. Dumars
1948-2006
Philip Lloyd Dumars, 58, died June 28, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Cheyenne.
He was born March 12, 1948, in Malone, N.Y., the son of Dorothy (Wood) and Lyle A. Dumars.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the First Christian Church in Wheatland, with Bishop Doug Hinkle of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints officiating.
Interment with military honors will be in the Wheatland cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at Gorman Funeral Homes - Platte Chapel of Wheatland.
Friends may contribute to a charity of choice.
Rhonda J. Worrall-Wright
1937-2006
Rhonda Jane Worrall-Wright, 68, of Cheyenne died June 28 in Cheyenne.
She was born Nov. 5, 1937, in Knoxville, Iowa, and had lived here for 24 years with prior residence in Des Moines, Iowa.
Mrs. Worrall-Wright was a member of St. Christopher's Episcopal Church.
She is survived by a son, James Wright of Cheyenne; four daughters, Danielle Wright of Cheyenne, Dana Merwin of Cheyenne, Julie Reeves of Phoenix, and Marina Anderson of Hill Air Force Base, Utah; two brothers, John Hasso of Eldon, Mo., and Don Hasso of Wheatland, Mo.; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Worrall and E. Elmarie Hasso.
A graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. today at the Rugged Cross Chapel in Cheyenne Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Timothy Solan officiating.
Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
Dorothy M. Satterfield
1915-2006
Dorothy May Satterfield, 91, of Cheyenne died July 9 at Cheyenne Health Care Center.
She was born Feb. 27, 1915, in Logansport, Ind., and had lived in Wyoming for 56 years.
Mrs. Satterfield was a member of the Daughters of the Nile, Tamah Egyptians and was a past Matron of the Eastern Star Vespa Chapter 19 in Thermopolis.
She was served sacraments at home by St. Christopher's Episcopal Church.
Mrs. Satterfield was an avid dancer and choreographer and taught for many years.
She is survived by her daughter, Connie Calkins of Cheyenne; a son, Charles G. Satterfield of Mammoth Lakes, Calif.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband James L. Satterfield, whom she married
Sept. 1, 1935, in Thermopolis; her parents, Conrad and Glyda Evilsizer; and one brother, George Evilsizer.
Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.
Friends may contribute to the Shriners Hospitals or St. Christopher's Episcopal Church.
Jean Fuller
1932-2006
Jean Fuller, 74, died July 11 in Sterling, Colo.
She was born July 5, 1932, to Frank and Josephine Ranick Zilkoski in Hazleton, Pa.
She graduated from West Hazleton schools and the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in allied medical service, with a major in occupational therapy.
Training included terms at Trenton State Hospital in New Jersey, Wilmington Sheltered Workshop in Wilmington, Del., Philadelphia General Hospital in Philadelphia and the D.C. General Hospital in Washington D.C.
She was employed at the Trenton State Hospital in Trenton, N.J. and the New Jersey Neuropsychiatry Institute in Princeton, prior to moving to Colorado after marrying Robert E. Fuller in Trenton on Aug. 1,1955. They moved to Colorado with their three young boys in August 1960. The family moved to Sterling in February 1962 where their daughter was born in June 1963. She was employed by the Logan County Department of Social Services as a caseworker from October 1969 to February 1995. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed reading and using the computer, both to share with friends and to learn. She always said, "There's a whole big world out there," which amazed her since she was bound to a small, rural town with no desire to travel. She passed away as a result of pancreatic cancer after a valiant five-and-a-half-year battle. She joked that "he was going to have to catch her," but she could no longer run.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Frank; her husband Robert; and a son Kevin T. Fuller.
She is survived by her brother, Hugh Nestor of San Clemente, Calif.; and her children, Christopher and Kelly Fuller of Denver, Colleen and Dean Bixby of Cheyenne, Dennis Fuller, Susan Fuller, Mark and Kim Fuller and Mike and Lori Fuller, all of Sterling. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial mass will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with the Rev. Jim Baird officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens cemetery in Sterling.
Visitation will be 1-7 p.m. Thursday, with vigil and rosary to follow, at Tennant Funeral Home in Sterling, Colo.
Michael A. Stewart
1961-2006
Michael Anthony Stewart, 44, of Cheyenne, died July 8 in Cheyenne.
He was born Aug. 4, 1961, in Cheyenne and had lived here all of his life.
Mr. Stewart was a mechanic for Sapp Brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah, whom he married
Aug. 5, 1995 in Cheyenne; two sons, Jacob Stewart and Adam Stewart both of Cheyenne; his father, Roy L. Stewart, Sr. of Cheyenne; his mother, Betty Y. Stewart of Cheyenne; a brother, Roy L. Stewart, Jr. of Cheyenne; and two sisters, Linda Parker and Christy Williams, both of Cheyenne.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Tim Stewart.
A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Friday at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes with the Rev. Delbert Hansen officiating.
Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.

Norma R. Rounds
1924-2006
Norma Rose Rounds was born to William and Celia Langhoff on Aug. 14, 1924 in Spearfish, S.D. She grew up and attended school in Spearfish, graduating from high school in 1943.
She was married
to Donald J. Rounds on Feb. 11, 1944, in New York City at the Little Church Around The Corner.
The couple made their home in Sundance where they helped run the family businesses. While living in Sundance, they had four children and built lifelong friendships. Through the years the family also lived in Ree Heights, S.D., Huntley and Pine Bluffs, where she followed and supported her husband during his teaching, coaching and administrative career. The couple lived in Pine Bluffs for 19 years where their children grew up and graduated from high school. During this time, Norma worked for Dr. James Stoetzel. People in the community appreciated her compassion and fun-loving personality.
Norma and her husband Don retired and moved to Cheyenne in 1979. Norma loved spending time with her family and many friends. She enjoyed going to coffee and following her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's many activities. Her home was always a haven for fun, laughter and, most of all, love. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
On July 10 Norma passed away at the age of 81 in Cheyenne at United Medical Center-West with her family by her side.
Throughout her life she had been a member of Beta Sigma Phi - Sundance, Eastern Star, Legion Auxiliary, Moose Lodge, Canasta Club and St. Christopher's Episcopal Church.
Norma is survived by her daughter Donna Petsch and husband Irv of Meriden; a son Tom Rounds and wife Connie of Scottsbluff, Neb.; a daughter, Joan Rounds of Meriden; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Rounds; a son, Randy Rounds; a granddaughter, Megan Rounds; two sisters; one brother; and her parents.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church in Cheyenne. She will be taken home and laid to rest in her beloved Black Hills in Spearfish, S.D. over Labor Day weekend at Rose cemetery.

Patricia A. Evans
1946-2006
Patricia Ann Evans, 59, died July 3 in Glendale, Ariz.
She was born Sept. 10, 1946, in Santa Cruz, Calif.
She grew up in Cheyenne, where she attended elementary school and junior high and Cheyenne's East High.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.
She is survived of her husband of 39 years, Bill J. Evans Jr.; a son, Bill J. Evans III of Glendale; a daughter, Sandra Klein of Glendale; mother, Margaret Newberry of Santa Cruz; three brothers, Dewayne Fagenbush of Cheyenne, Danny Fagenbush of Butte, Mont., and Victor Newberry of Santa Cruz; a sister, Alicia Bailey of Turlock, Calif.; and three grandsons.
She is preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Fagenbush; and her grandparents.
The funeral was held July 7 at Heritage Funeral Chapel in Peoria, Ariz.
Peggy R. Saari
1947-2006
Peggy R. Saari, 59, of Cheyenne died July 8 at United Medical Center-West.
She was born Feb. 22, 1947, in Cheyenne and had lived here most of her life.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
She is survived by a son, Joseph A. Saari of Plano, Texas; a daughter, Kathy LaCroix of Cheyenne; a brother, Charles Fleenor of Portland, Ore.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Irene Fleenor.
A memorial service is 10 a.m. today at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. David Caspersen officiating.

Roy G. Montgomery
1927-2006
Roy G. Montgomery, 78, passed away July 9 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Cheyenne.
Mr. Montgomery was born Sept. 4, 1927, in Katemcy, Texas to Jim and Mary Eula Montgomery.
He married
June Chambers on March 7, 1951, in Phoenix, Ariz.
Mr. Montgomery was a World War II veteran. He served in the U.S. Army from January 1946 to October 1948 in Germany. He was recalled to service September 1950 through October 1951 in Korea.
Mr. Montgomery was a Phoenix-based truck driver for Safeway for 20 years. He later owned a business, a Chevron Station in Perryville, Ariz., for about eight years. He was an officer for the Department of Public Safety in Phoenix for five years.
Mr. Montgomery was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 42 years, June; and his brothers, Rodgers, Robert, and Jimmy Montgomery.
He is survived by his children, Kathy Hagen of Elsie, Neb., and her children, Shaun and Shelley; Darla and Don Herndon of Tolleson, Ariz.; Terry and Connie Montgomery of Phoenix and their children, Rebecca, Sarah, and Jessica; and Mark and Helen Montgomery of Phoenix and their children, Scotti, Erica, and Katie. Mr. Montgomery had three great-granddaughters. He is also survived by his sister, Ruth Harlan; his sister-in-law, Etta Montgomery; his nephews, Dennis, Donnie, and Danny Montgomery; and many dear and wonderful friends.
Mr. Montgomery moved to Cheyenne in 1994. He is survived by his beloved companion of 12 years, Leona Ostrom, and her family who adopted him and loved him as their own: Connie, Ron, Laurie, Aaron and Jennifer Ostrom and Sean, Bryan, Nici, Kyle, Wendy, Taylor and Mickayla Welsh.
The memorial service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at North Christian Church, 2015 Tranquility Road.
