Richard E. Holland
1936-2006
Richard E. Holland of Griffin, Ga., died on March 8 at the age of 69.
He was born on May 19, 1936, in Cheyenne to William and Lenna Holland. He graduated from Cheyenne High in 1954 and attended college at Westminster College in Salt Lake City and the University of Wyoming in Laramie. He was the youngest of three children.
He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad, the Burlington Northern Railroad, KTVS-TV in Sterling Co. and KGWN-TV in Cheyenne and retired as the owner of Carpet Comfort Center in Sterling, Colo. in 1999. He also served as minister of Valley Christian Church in North Platte, Neb., in the 1960s and was a Sunday school teacher at Fayetteville Christian Church, Fayetteville, Ga.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Aimes Holland; four sons, Mike, Philip, Mark and Terry Holland, and two daughters, Tammy Brown and Cindy Sellards; 19 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
He was proceeded in death by his parents; his brothers, William and Robert; his son, Bradford and his first wife of 44 years, Dolores Holland.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today at the Fayetteville Christian Church with Minister Dan Roberts officiating. The body will lie in state at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville, Ga.
Terry R. Rogers
1953-2006
Terry R. Rogers, 52, of Cheyenne died March 10 at his home after a long battle with cancer.
Terry was born Nov. 24, 1953, in Cheyenne to Gerald and Joy Rogers. He worked for the state of Wyoming as a computer operator.
On Aug. 14, 1972, he married
Brenda DellVeneri in Fort Collins, Colo.
Terry enjoyed his annual trip with Brenda to Sturgis, S.D. and spending time with his family.
Terry is survived by his wife, Brenda of Cheyenne; one son, Jeremiah Rogers and one daughter, Gina Fox, both of Cheyenne; two brothers, Gary Rogers of Modesto, Calif., and Jerry Rogers of Riverton. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Corey, Casey and Dorian along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one son, Joshua.
Memorial services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at Schrader Chapel with Roger Aurand officiating. Cremation has taken place at Schrader's Sunset Park Crematory.

Ana F. Gonzalez
1917-2006
Ana F. Gonzalez, 88, of Cheyenne died April 10 in Laredo, Texas.
She was born July 27, 1917, in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico.
Mrs. Gonzalez was a homemaker.
She married
Pete C. Gonzalez on Feb. 15, 1946, in Chihuahua.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
Mrs. Gonzalez is survived by her son, Anthony Gonzalez of Cheyenne; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete C. Gonzalez; her daughter, Mary Ellen Garza; her parents, Jesus J. and Maria A. Balderrama; brothers, Jesus Maria Balderrama, Jose Maria Balderrama, Ascencion Balderrama, Jose Angel Balderrama and Rafael Balderrama; and a sister, Concepcion B. Sandoval.
Vigil for the Deceased will be 4:30 p.m. today at Schrader Chapel.
Funeral Liturgy will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Ray Moss officiating.
Pallbearers will be Ruben Garza, Rafael Garza, Sergio Gonzalez, Pedro Garza, Marco Gonzalez and Antonio Gonzalez.
Honorary pallbearers will be all her friends and family.
Friends may contribute to the Alzheimer's Association or St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

Ann E. Winstel Morrow
1920-2006
Ann Elizabeth Winstel Morrow, 85, died April 9 in Durango, Colo.
She was born Dec. 19, 1920, in Denison, Texas, to Ernest Robert and "Jackie" Winstel.
She was raised in Port Arthur, Texas. She attended North Texas State Teachers' College in Denton, and after graduation she returned to Port Arthur to teach second grade for two years. She then married
the love of her life, Philip Morrow. They lived in Port Arthur for several years and their daughter Jackie was born there.
They then moved to Laurel, Mont., where Philip was a petroleum engineer and Ann was a homemaker. Philip was recalled to active Air Force duty in Alaska, so Ann and Jackie returned to Port Arthur for a year. In 1952, son Philip Guy Morrow II was born and the Morrows returned to Laurel, where they lived in their home until 2001. They moved to Cortez in 2003 to be nearer their daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Aryol Brumley. On March 28 of this year, Ann and Philip celebrated their 60 wedding anniversary with their children.
Ann's greatest joys in life came from her love of her family, from her church activities and from her flower gardens. She placed her husband and children, their spouses and her grandchildren/great-grandchildren above all else. She was active in the Order of Eastern Star, was Mother Advisor to her local Rainbow Girls Assembly and was one of the "charter" members of her beloved St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Laurel. She served long and well in all aspects of the life of that church. Ann was a voracious reader, enjoying many genres of literature, especially "intrigue" novels which she shared with Aryol. She was elected Woman of the Year by her Laurel Federated Women's Club.
Ann is survived by her beloved husband, Philip of Cortez; her daughter, Jackie Brumley and husband, Aryol also of Cortez; her son, Philip Guy Morrow and wife, Kathy of Cheyenne.; her granddaughters, Michelle Butler of McKinney, Texas, Sara Perry and husband, Todd of Allen, Texas, Ann Marie Morrow of Centennial, Colo., Kristen Morrow and Laura Morrow, both of Cheyenne; four great-grandchildren; and her younger brother, Jack Morrow and wife, Deanie of Richardson, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Jackie; and by an elder brother, Ernest. Ann was greatly loved and will be missed by her family and friends.
Memorial services will be 3 p.m. today at the Montezuma Valley Presbyterian Church in Cortez.

John F. McMahon Jr.
1933-2006
John F. McMahon, Jr., 72, of Cheyenne died April 6 at his home.
He was born April 29, 1933, in Exeter, Neb.
Mr. McMahon attended school in Cheyenne and graduated from Cheyenne High School in 1951. He continued his education at Denver University and the University of Wyoming.
Mr. McMahon served in the U.S. Marine Corp for three years.
He worked for the Wyoming Highway Department and Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality.
Mr. McMahon was a blood donor from age 20 until the age of 69.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret McMahon; three children, Ted McMahon of Laramie, Jane McMahon and Andy McMahon, both of Cheyenne; a sister, Dorothy Jean Blumenthal of Porterville, Calif.; brother, Dick McMahon of Germany; and one granddaughter.
Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
Private family services will be held.
Larry L. Pope
1945-2006
Larry Lee Pope, 60, died April 9 at his home in Gillette of leukemia.
He was born Sept. 23, 1945, in Cheyenne, the son of Alvin and Helen (Bridwell) Pope. He was raised and educated in Cheyenne.
He married
Susan Goepfert in 1964. Together, they had 5 children. The couple later divorced.
Larry married
Julia Van Patten on April 15, 1982, in Gillette, where they have lived since.
Mr. Pope has been an IBEW Local 415 Electrician since 1965. Working as and electrician his entire life, the last ten plus of which has been with the Campbell County School District.
Larry loved the outdoors: boating, fishing, camping and the Bighorns. He even more enjoyed doing these things with his family, especially his grandkids, who will remember his huge "Bear Hugs" the most.
Larry is survived by his mother of Cheyenne; his wife, Julia of 24 years; three daughters, Shelly Diehl of Gillette, Lisa Gustafson of Windsor, Colo., and Candace Buday of Lewistown, Mont.; five sons, Matthew Pope of Cheyenne, Kevin Pope of Billings, Mont., Tim Pope of Bucharest, Romania, Charlie Van Patten of Gillette and Travis Van Patten of Laramie; one brother, Duane Pope of Cheyenne.
He was preceded in death by his father and one infant brother, Raymond.
The funeral is 11 a.m. today at the Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel.
A second service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes in Cheyenne.

Leah L. Sampson
1931-2006
Leah L. Sampson, age 74, of Cheyenne died April 9 at her home.
Mrs. Sampson was born in Cheyenne on June 11, 1931.
She has lived in Cheyenne for 43 years with prior residence in Indiana. She was employed as a Cost Analyst for F.E. Warren Air Force Base.
Mrs. Sampson was a member of Zion Congregational Church, Deacon and Board Secretary of Zion Congregational, Past Wyoming Wing Commander of Wyoming Civil Air Patrol, a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and a member of the AARP.
She is survived by two daughters, Michelle Blanchard of Denver, Colo., and Renee' and husband, Michael Piskorski of Cheyenne; and two grandchildren, Lauren and Colin Blanchard.
Mrs. Sampson was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Sampson, whom she married
in 1954; her parents, John and Lydia Hardung; four sisters; and one brother.
Funeral services are 10 a.m. Friday at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes with the Rev. Elmer Wilhelm officiating.
Interment will follow at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.

Samuel A. Sandoval
1967-2006
Samuel Angel "Sam" Sandoval, 39, of Cheyenne, died June 6 in Cheyenne.
He was born Feb. 10, 1967, in Cheyenne and had lived here most of his life.
Mr. Sandoval was a chef and cook.
He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
Mr. Sandoval is survived by five brothers, Timothy "Eddie" Sandoval, Gilbert Sandoval, Steven R. Sandoval, Louis M. Sandoval and Jose D. Sandoval, all of Cheyenne; and four sisters, Theresa Armstrong of Cumming, Ga., and Helen Doty, Irene Llamas and Cleo Bustos, all of Cheyenne.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Timoteo and Agnes Sandoval.
Vigil for the Deceased will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes with Deacon Alan Lancaster officiating.
Funeral Liturgy will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with the Rev. Ray Moss as the celebrant.
Interment will be in Beth El cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Harl Doty, Gilbert Sandoval, Jr., Rueben Sandoval, Charles Armstrong, Timoteo Sandoval and Lawrence Llamas.
Daniel J. Johnson
1960-2006
Daniel J. Johnson, 46, of Cheyenne, died June 8.
He was born March 4, 1960, in Shreveport, La.
He moved to Cheyenne in 1974 and had lived here since.
He is survived by his parents, Herbert and Kathleen Johnson of Phoenix, Ore.; his brothers, Steven M. Johnson of Sacramento, Calif., H. Louis Johnson of Nisland, S.D., Richard M. Johnson of Loveland, Colo.; his sisters, Ellen K. Oliver of Lincoln, Neb., Anne E. Garren of Medford, Ore., and Jean M. Tucker of Cheyenne; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas "TA" Johnson.
A private family service will be held.
Doris J. Murphy
1927-2006
Doris Jean Isabell Murphy, 78, died June 8 at Platte County Memorial Hospital in Wheatland.
She was born Oct. 12, 1927, in Miles City, Mont., the daughter of Deltha V. (Hazzard) and Harry O. Hopper. The family located to Wheatland in the late 1930s and Doris graduated from Wheatland High School in 1946.
She married
Casmer W. Isabell in Gering, Neb., on June 12, 1946.
She worked at various businesses in Wheatland, which included the telephone company, drugstore, and as a clerk in the County Treasurer's office.
On Dec. 29, 2002, she married
Robert Edward "Bob" Murphy in Wheatland.
She enjoyed painting, creating greeting cards and ceramics.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Murphy of Wheatland; a son, Gregg Isabell of Casper; six stepchildren, Vera Lorraine Murphy of Oregon, Robert M. Murphy of California, Darlene Miller of Texas, Patsy Kennedy of North Carolina, Linda Davis of Illinois, and Michael Musil of West Virginia; two brothers, Norman D. "Bud" Hopper of Kent, Wash., and H. Dwight Hopper of Vancouver, Wash.; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Casmer W. Isabell; a sister, Edith Hopper Childs; and a grandson.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Gregg and Rose Marie Isabell, Norman D. "Bud" and Diane Hopper, H. Dwight and Shirley Hopper, Rocky and Jo Lawrence, Chuck and Doris Thorne, and Jarvis and Betty Windom.
The memorial service is 2 p.m. Tuesday at Gorman Funeral Homes - Platte Chapel in Wheatland, with the Rev. Andy Gudahl officiating.
interment will be held privately in the Wheatland cemetery.
