Jim E. Meyer
1940-2005
Jim Edward Meyer, 64, of Decatur, Texas, died Aug. 24 at Baylor Hospital in Plano, Texas.
He was born August 27, 1940, in Loveland, Colo., and had lived in Texas for a year with prior residence of more than 50 years in Cheyenne.
Jim had retired as an asphalt lab foreman from WYDOT after 27 years of employment. Prior to working for WYDOT, Jim ranched and worked for the Wyoming Hereford Ranch and vonForell Herefords of Wheatland.
He was a volunteer for Cheyenne Frontier Days for over 35 years. He was a night show arena director for the Chuckwagon Races and was a member of HEELS.
Jim is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sharon Meyer of Decatur; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Sandy and Jimmy Brazile of Decatur and Carrie and Heath Campbell of Frisco, Texas; one grandson, Dawson James Campbell of Texas; two step grandsons, Trevor Brazile and Hunter Campbell, both of Texas; two sisters-in-law, Betty Zeman and husband Eddie and Georgia Zeman and husband Larry, all of Cheyenne; one brother-in-law, Walt Patterson of Nebraska; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Tammy Meyer; a brother, Jay Meyer; a sister-in-law, Shirley Patterson; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lydia and Henry Meintzer; and two nephews, Ed Zeman and John Zeman.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Ken Peterson officiating.
Interment will be in Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Gene Giffin, Tom Wilson, Les Talkington, Bill Phillips, Gary Rice and Buddy Bensmiller.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dan Wilson, Cody Wilson, L.A. Romsa, Dick Doering, Don English, Bob Corso, Marion Reeder, Bill Mueller, Ralph Belew, Frank Eedy, Dick DuVall and all of his friends.
Friends who wish may contribute to the American Heart Association or Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund.
Services are under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.
June S. Maroney
1930-2004
June Stephens Maroney, 74, of Cheyenne died Dec. 25, 2004, in Cheyenne.
She was born June 11, 1930, in Green River.
Mrs. Maroney was a receptionist for various doctors' offices.
She married
Gerald A. Maroney Oct. 24, 1953, in Green River.
She is survived by a daughter, Jill Maroney of Los Angeles; and a brother, George Stephens of Idaho.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald A. Maroney.
Memorial graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Riverview cemetery in Green River.
Linda J. Huston
1950-2005
Linda Jeanne Huston, 54, of Aurora, Colo., died Aug. 26 at Hospice of Metro Denver in Aurora.
She was born Nov. 25, 1950, in Denver and had lived in Denver for 1 year with prior residence of 25 years in Cheyenne.
Ms. Huston was a barber and engineering technician.
She is survived by a son, Clay Blackwell of Las Vegas; a daughter, Angie Blackwell of Aurora; her mother, Syble Huston of Cheyenne; a brother, Bill Huston of Depoe City, Ore.; and a sister, Susan Fischer of Thornton, Colo.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Huston and her husband, Charles Edward Blackwell.
Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 3005 Thomes Avenue with the Rev. Makanah Morriss officiating.

Shelly L. Rierson
1963-2005
Shelly Lynn Rierson, 42, of Cheyenne died Aug. 25 at United Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 1, 1963, in Perryton, Texas, and had lived in Cheyenne since October 1994.
She is survived by her husband, John Rierson; children, Christina, Jonathan and Nicholas; parents, Dannie and William Hickey; sister, Billissa; and brothers, Barton and Steven.
Services will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the F.E. Warren Air Force Base Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations for the children may be made in memory of Shelly at Warren Federal Credit Union.
Amanda J. Read
2005
Amanda Jane Read was born Aug. 26 to Jeffrey and Susan Read at Sky View Hospital in Littleton, Colo. She died Aug. 26 in Littleton.
She is survived by her parents; her maternal grandparents, Jean and Dick Gilmore of Castle Rock, Colo.; her paternal grandparents, Cherrie and Mark Read of Cheyenne; and her great-grandmother, Iris Trosper of Cheyenne.
A memorial service will be tonight in Littleton.
Darlene G. Gilmore
1944-2005
Darlene Ginther Gilmore, 61, of Cheyenne died Aug. 27 in her home.
She was born Aug. 10, 1944, in Choteau, Mont. She spent the first 17 years of her life in various Montana towns.
On Dec. 17, 1961, in Culbertson, Mont., she married
Glen Gilmore of Cheyenne. Several years later, the family moved to Cheyenne, which she called home for the last 38 years.
Darlene spent her life volunteering much of her time with organizations like Boy Scouts of America, the PTA at her children's schools and the Covenant Women. She played organ in several local churches including First Covenant Church, Christ Lutheran Church, Christian and Missionary Alliance and the Frontier United Methodist Church. Darlene worked for the Laramie County School District No. 1 at both Cole Elementary and Hobbs Elementary schools.
She enjoyed being a part of Civil Air Patrol. Darlene served in both the Cheyenne Senior Squadron and the Wyoming Wing. Her highlight was the four years she served as the Wyoming Wing Commander.
Most recently, Darlene has been volunteering at Cheyenne Frontier Days, knitting for those less fortunate and participating as part of the drama team at Frontier United Methodist Church.
Darlene was blessed by her marriage of 44 years to Glen. Her other blessings included her five children, Thomas Gilmore of Sheridan, Jack Gilmore of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Ray Gilmore, Susan Foley and Janet Strickler, all of Cheyenne; two brothers, Charlie Ginther of Bremerton, Wash., and Stan Ginther of Stevensville, Mont.; two sisters, Betty Geier of Terrace, British Columbia, Canada, and Mary Sikes of Napa, Calif.; 20 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Grace Ginther; and four grandchildren, Kaycee Gilmore, Donna Olson, Cody Gilmore and Glen Gilmore.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Frontier United Methodist Church.
Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.

Dr. Sydney E. Pattison
1928-2005
Dr. Sydney Edward Pattison, 77, a former Cheyenne resident, died at his home in Manhattan Beach, Calif., on Aug. 13 after a valiant battle with emphysema.
He was born Feb. 2, 1928, in Omaha, Neb. Sid lived in Nebraska until coming to Cheyenne in 1940. He attended junior and senior high schools in Cheyenne, graduating in 1945.
He served in the U.S. Army of Occupation in Korea when he won awards as an expert rifleman. Sid graduated from University of Wyoming and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. He practiced dentistry in Redondo Beach, Calif., until his retirement in 1995.
Sydney was a lifetime member of the Presbyterian Church. As a clarinetist, he was a founding member of the Hyperion Outfall Serenaders, the official band of Manhattan Beach. He was a superb golfer who was rarely beaten in match play, an avid reader and always remained a strong supporter of the Wyoming Cowboys.
Dr. Pattison is survived by his wife of 51 years, Ethel Lund; daughter, LeValley Pattison; grandson, Logan Pattison; sister and brother-in-law, Lorna and Robert Walkley; brother-in-law, Le Val Lund; and beloved nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, the Rev. Dr. John and May Pattison; and his parents-in-law, Dr. LeVal and Grace Lund.
A memorial service was held at the Manhattan Beach Community Church on Aug. 19 with Rev. Robert Walkley officiating.
Hazel I. Fox
1915-2005
Hazel I. Fox, 90, of Cheyenne died Aug. 27 at Life Care Center.
She was born Feb. 10, 1915, in Arvada and had lived here for 15 years.
Mrs. Fox is survived by a son, Arthur A. Fox of Puyallup, Wash.; a daughter, Karen Patterson of Cheyenne; a brother, Curtis Elliott of Recluse; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold M. Fox in 1984; her parents, Dave and Mabel Elliott; two brothers; and three sisters.
Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.
Family services will be held. Friends may contribute to American Cancer Society.
James D. Floth

James D. Floth, 65, of James D. Floth, 65, of Cheyenne died June 23 at home. He was born March 4, 1940, in Greeley, Colo., and was a Cheyenne resident for 33 years. He was a retired electrical engineer.
He is survived by two sons, Curtis Floth of Westminster, Colo., and David Floth of Goodfellow Air Force Base, Texas; and a daughter, Christine McKeown of Fort Worth, Texas.
Mr. Floth was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph and Mollie Floth; and two brothers, Robert Floth and Richard Floth.
Private family services were held.

Stephen M. Thompson
1957-2005
Stephen Mitchell "Steve" Thompson, 48, of Cheyenne died Aug. 28 in Cheyenne.
He was born June 13, 1957, in San Diego and had lived here since August 1969.
Mr. Thompson was a brakeman for the Union Pacific Railroad and a teacher at McCormick Junior High School for 25 years.
He is survived by his mother, Benita Thompson of Everett, Wash.; a brother, William C. Thompson of Las Vegas; a sister, Terri Trevino of Cheyenne; three nephews; one niece; and numerous aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his father, Paul H. Thompson.
Vigil for the Deceased will be 7 p.m. Thursday at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.
Funeral Liturgy will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Deacon Pat Bradley officiating.
Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
Interment of the urn will be in Mountain View Memorial Park.
