Mary L. Martin
1911-2005
Mary Louella Martin, 93, of Laramie and Cheyenne died Jan. 29 at her home in Cheyenne.
She was born Oct. 12, 1911, in Dayton, the daughter of Oliver and Mary Leona (Williams) Coast.
She married
Albert Merle Martin on Oct. 12, 1979, in Sheridan. Mary raised her six children and her grandchildren.
She enjoyed crocheting and quilting, having made more than 300 afghans and 100 baby quilts.
She was a member of St. Rita's Group at St. Laurence O'Toole Catholic Church in Laramie.
She is survived by her two daughters, Esther Rymus and her husband, James of Roy, Utah; and Joanne Guill and her husband, Howard of Cheyenne; three grandsons, Terry Sharpen and his wife, Marcy of Oregon, Robert Guill and his wife, Phyllis of Arkansas and their children, Jaimelyn, Hannah, Erin and Chase, and Todd Sharpen of California; three granddaughters, Mary Scherden and her husband, Joseph of Wyoming and their children, Brittany, Jessica, Joseph Jr., and Timothy, Shannon Guill and her children, Sean, Drew, Kelly and Sean's daughter, Amanda, Elizabeth Holaday and her husband, Mark of Nebraska and their children, Ty Robert, Heather, Austin and Bailey.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings; her husband; three sons, Albert, Robert and Wilbur; one daughter, Cindy; and one grandson, Anthony Sharpen.
A rosary service was held Tuesday at St. Laurence O'Toole Catholic Church.
Funeral liturgy was held Wednesday at St. Laurence O'Toole Catholic Church.

Nick Lujan
1915-2005
Nick Lujan, 89, of Cheyenne died Feb. 2 at Life Care Center.
He was born April 21, 1915, in New Mexico and had lived here since 1946.
Mr. Lujan had retired as custodian at the Elk's Club and Plains Hotel.
He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
Mr. Lujan is survived by a son, Lorenzo Eugene Lujan of Cheyenne; five grandchildren, Gina Lujan, Robin Bollinger, Michael Murphy, Margaret Lopez and Pamela Webb; eight great-grandchildren, Amanda Grimm, Stephanie Johnson, David Grimm, Jamie Doyle, Jordan Lopez, Hero Webb, Nic Lopez and Madison Webb; and two great-great-grandchildren, Sydney Wilson and Davien Grimm.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cleofas A. Lujan on Jan. 12, 2002; three daughters, Lujanita Lujan, Mary Margaret Woolridge and Gloria Helen Bonds; his parents; a brother, Jay Romero and a granddaughter, Mary Ann Johnson.
Services are pending through Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.

He was a kind and gentle hearted man.
Doris L. Weakland
1945-2005
Doris L. Weakland, 59, of Wheatland died Feb. 8 at Platte County Memorial Hospital.
She was born Sept. 1, 1945, to William Henry and Margarette Annie (Essary) Waits in Medina County, Texas.
She married
Thomas Martin in July 1964. They later divorced.
She worked various jobs while living in Casper. She moved to El Paso, Texas, in 1987, where she became a truck driver. She drove for Roadrunner Trucking and Warner Enterprises. Her hobbies included quilting, reading and anything to do with her grandchildren. She settled in Wheatland in 1996 in order to be close to her grandchildren. She attended Wheatland Bible Church, where she volunteered in many areas. She also volunteered at The Dwelling Place, a Christian bookstore, and the Wheatland Community Center.
She is survived by one son, Thomas Edward Martin II of Cheyenne; one daughter, Andrea Gail Leinen of Wheatland; three brothers, Vernon Waits of Daleville, Ala., Lindsey Waits of Comfort, Texas, and Eddie Waits of Lytle, Texas; four sisters, Rosella Balzen of Hondo, Texas, Dorothy LeBlanc of San Antonio, Margaret Becklehimer of Kettle Falls, Wash., and Ruby Waits of Oroville, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Albert, Basil, Howard, and James Waits; a sister, Velma Anglin.
Memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Wheatland Bible Church, Highway 312 and Palmer Canyon Road, with Pastor Danzil Mauck officiating.

Frances P. Sitzman
1912-2005
Frances Pauline Sitzman, 92, of Cheyenne died Feb. 8 at the Life Care Center of Cheyenne.
She was born July 22, 1912, in Fort Collins, Colo., and lived here for 55 years.
Mrs. Sitzman attended First Christian Church and was a member of the Bottle Club and Little Theatre.
She is survived by her husband, Edward Sitzman of Cheyenne, whom she married
July 3, 1932; a son, Duane Sitzman of Fort Collins; two daughters, Shirley Flanagan of Whitewater, Colo., and Karen Horak of Tempe, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Elizabeth Robbins; a brother, Ira Robbins; a sister, Kathyrne Collette; and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Grandview cemetery in Fort Collins with the Rev. Gil Jones officiating.
Pallbearers will be Mark Pointer, Doug Pointer, Steve Flanagan and Dave Flanagan.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.
Contributions may be made to charities of choice.

Glen F. Waldow
1943-2005
Glen F. Waldow, 61, of Cheyenne died Feb. 8 at United Medical Center-West.
He was born July 17, 1943, in Cheyenne to Ferdinand J. and Maxine (Taylor) Waldow.
He graduated from Cheyenne's East High in 1961 and from Weber State College in Ogden, Utah, in 1966.
He served in the active Army for two years and retired from Wyoming Air National Guard after 20 years of service.
Glen was employed at APW Wyott for 31 years, the last 16 as lead welder. He was a master at repairs and could often turn a product that would have been scrapped into a viable shipment.
He was a Webelos Cub Scout leader, a Boy Scout leader and a committee member and a former member of Mizpah Chapter 36, O.E.S.
He was a strong man - not demonstrative but you always knew you could count on him for anything. He'd give you the shirt off his back even though he complained the whole time. The love and pride he had for his family was shown in his actions. His patience in helping and teaching was limitless and he always was able to turn a problem into a solution with just joke or a laugh. He touched many people throughout his life, especially through his leadership and example.
He was preceded by his parents; his grandparents, Fred and Cecil Taylor; and his in-laws, Jack and Isabel McConaughy.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Carolyn Waldow; son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Dawn Waldow of Cheyenne; daughter and son-in-law, Katy and Shane Walradt of Fort Lewis, Wash.; two granddaughters, Alexa Coupens and Lauren Walradt; a sister-in-law, Sue McConaughy; and a sister and brother-in-law, Terry and Jim Tasseff.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Schrader Chapel with cremation to follow at Schrader's Sunset Park Crematory. The Rev. Mr. Pat Bradel will officiate.
Jane H. Houston
1919-2005
Jane Hunt Houston, 85, died Feb. 8 in Cheyenne following a two-year illness that began with a large jaw infection. Her body faded, but not her mind.
She was born Dec. 22, 1919, in Montclair, N.J., to MacLean and Mary Hunt Young Houston.
She grew up mostly in Pennsylvania. She attended high school in Warren, Pa., and St. Faith's in New York State. She attended college at Duke University in North Carolina and the University of Wyoming.
Jane was a professional Girl Scout in Sacramento, Calif., and Cheyenne and taught kindergarten for 15 years in Cheyenne. Jane was a member of St. Christopher's Episcopal Church in Cheyenne.
She lived for about 50 years with Rosiland Bealey, who preceded her in death. Together they owned a mountain cabin in Centennial, where Jane was active at the NISI Self Museum and the Water Board. For several years Jane was on the board of Carbon Power. The cabin was Jane's heart and joy.
Jane is survived by one brother, Reagan Houston and his wife, Mary, of Hendersonville, N.C.; one sister, Mary "Pat" Treadwell, and her husband, William, of Wellington, Nev.; her sister-in-law, Suzanne Buttner of North Carolina; nephews and nieces, Jessica Jaffee, Nikki Wasch, Matthew Houston, Lynn Baskett and Brian Treadwell; five great-nephews and great-nieces also survive.
She was preceded in death by one brother, William H. Houston.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church with Rev. Robin Chance officiating. Cremation has taken place at Schrader's Sunset Park Crematory.

Lewis K. Bostwick
1923-2005
Lewis Kenneth Bostwick, 81, of Aurora, Colo., died Feb. 6 at Aurora Medical Center.
He was born May 3, 1923, in Chugwater and lived in Cheyenne until 1968, when he moved to Longmont, Colo.
Mr. Bostwick owned Frontier Flooring.
He is survived by a son, Dallas Quay Smallwood of Slydell, La.; a daughter, Collette Rowland of Aurora; a brother, Carl Bostwick of Sheridan; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Bostwick on July 24, 2002; his parents, Elliot and Ethel Bostwick; a brother, Sterling Bostwick; and a sister, Norma Lovercheck.
Graveside services will be 3:30 p.m. Friday at the Rugged Cross Chapel in Cheyenne Memorial Gardens with the Rev. J.D. Megason officiating.
Interment will be in Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Honor Guard.
Services are under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.
Rose E. Scorsone
1944-2005
Rose Eileene (Morris) Scorsone, 60, of Cheyenne and Las Vegas died Feb. 4 in Las Vegas.
She was born Sept. 29, 1944, to Clarence and Geraldine Morris in Cheyenne.
She was a resident of Cheyenne until 2001 when she relocated to Las Vegas for health care and to be near her family. She was a retired cosmetologist.
She is survived by a daughter, Gina (Scorsone) Ward of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.
Private graveside service to be held.

Ruthmary D. Hale
1943-2005
Ruthmary D. Hale, 61, of Cheyenne died Feb. 4 at United Medical Center-West.
She was born April 15, 1943, in Portland, Ore., and lived here for 9 years.
Ms. Hale was a licensed practical nurse.
She is survived by two sons, Kelley C. Carlson of Phoenix and Toney Carlson of the Philippines; a daughter, Kim Jones of Cheyenne; two brothers, Thomas Hale of Richmond, Va., and Michael Hale of Jennings Lodge, Ore.; two sisters, Sharon Sandgren of Boring, Ore., and Sandra Rea of Auburn, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Ruth Hale, and a brother, Blaine Atkinson.
Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.
Memorial services will be at a later date in Cannon Beach, Ore.

She loved life and lived it to the fullest. The love she had for her family and her God was never-ending. She will be remembered for many wonderful things, especially that her musical laughter was like a warm hug.
Sallie S. Bowman
1919-2005
Sallie S. Bowman, 85, of Denver died Feb. 4 in Denver.
She was born June 1, 1919, in Isola, Miss., and lived in Denver since 1996 with prior residence in Cheyenne.
Mrs. Bowman was a registered nurse and a governess for John R. "Dick" Smyth for 20 years.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Chapel in Denver and St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Cheyenne.
Mrs. Bowman was a member of the Nursing Association.
She is survived by a son, Richard Bowman Jr. of Cheyenne; a daughter, Anita Lopez of Cheyenne; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Bowman Sr., on Jan. 28, 1977; a daughter, Ernstine Donnarumma; her parents, Albert and Rodella Smith; four brothers, LeRoy Bonds, Roosevelt Quinn, Willie Smith and George Smith; and a sister, Emmaly Bottoms.
Vigil for the Deceased will be 7 tonight at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes with Deacon Pat Bradley officiating.
Funeral Liturgy will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with the Rev. Ray Moss as the celebrant.
Interment will be in Olivet cemetery.
