Milton E. Kussman

1918-2005

Capt. Milton Everett Kussman, 86, of Cheyenne died Jan. 14 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

He was born April 18, 1918, in Highmore, S.D., and lived here since 2004.

Capt. Kussman served in the Marine Corps during World War II and was a decorated war hero.

He retired as a teacher at Lynwood High School in Lynwood, Calif.

Capt. Kussman was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by two sons, Dan Kussman of Alisoviejo, Calif., and Bill Kussman of LaHabra, Calif.; a daughter, Kathryn "Kate" Lopez of Cheyenne; two brothers, Howard Kussman of Iowa and Edward Kussman of Minnesota; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Kussman, in May 2002; and his parents, Paul and Gertrude Kussman.

Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.

Friends may contribute to the VA Medical Center.

Troy E. Mickle

1978-2005

He came like an angel and left like an angel.

Troy E. Mickle, 26, of Cheyenne died Jan. 11 in Pueblo, Colo.

He was born July 29, 1978, in Wheatland.

Mr. Mickle was a truck driver for Pollard Transportation.

He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, National Wild Turkey Association and North American Hunting Club.

Mr. Mickle is survived by his son and best friend, Colton Ray Mickle of Cheyenne; his parents, Charles and Barbara Mickle of Cheyenne; four brothers and four sisters-in-law, Kevin and Tonia Mickle, Mark and Jennifer Mickle, Lance and Jennifer Mickle and John and Kim Gilfilian; five nephews; three nieces and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. today at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.

Interment will be in Lakeview cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Mickle, Mark Mickle, Lance Mickle, John Gilfilian, Doug Brookman and Jim Barth.

Friends may contribute to the Colton Mickle Education Fund in care of First Cheyenne Federal Credit Union.

Andrea McClintic

1908-2005

Andrea McClintic, 96, of Cheyenne died Jan. 30 at Mountain Towers Healthcare Center.

She was born Nov. 30, 1908, in Aqua Calienes, San Marcos, Mexico, and lived here more than 60 years.

Mrs. McClintic was a maid at the Wyoming Motel.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the American Legion Post 6.

Mrs. McClintic is survived by six sons, Ted Lucero, Otilio Lucero and Leroy Lucero, all of Cheyenne, Jim Lucero of Tucson, Ariz., Ray Lucero of California and Arnold Lucero of Sheridan; three daughters, Eva Commander, Gloria Kiser and Maggie Ramirez, all of Cheyenne; 52 grandchildren; 107 great-grandchildren; 77 great-great-grandchildren; and three great-great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norris McClintic on March 10, 1977; two sons, Michael and Orlando; a daughter, Kathy Lucero-Fletcher; her parents, Gil and Isabella Gonzales; a brother; three sisters; and three grandchildren.

Funeral Liturgy will be 10 a.m. today at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas Cronkleton as the celebrant.

Interment will be in Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Wes Bocanegra, Pasqual Rameriz III, James Zuniga, Pablo Lucero, Daniel Lucero and Orlando Bocanegra.

Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Lucero, Anthony Zuniga and Lawrence Bocanegra.

Friends may contribute to HOPE Endowment Fund in care of LCCC Foundation, 1400 East College Drive, Cheyenne, WY 82007.

Services are under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.

Frances M. Hoffer

1933-2005

Frances M. Hoffer, 72, of Cheyenne died Feb. 2 at United Medical Center-West.

She was born Jan. 30, 1933, in Douglas.

She was a member of Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Frances was an LPN at DePaul Hospital where she met and married the love of her life, Gilbert T. Hoffer. They were married Nov. 8, 1953, in Cheyenne.

She chose to stay home and raise her children while she ran an in-home daycare for more than 10 years. She helped raise her sister, Jean Brown, and four nephews, Stan Turner, Bill Turner, Jim Erickson and Ken Turner, along with many others.

When her children were grown, she attended LCCC. Upon completion she went to the University of Wyoming where she was a resident hall leader, she graduated from the University of Wyoming with a bachelor's degree in fine arts.

She was her daughter's best friend and ally and the inspiration for her success. She helped raise her granddaughters, Alissa and Breann and spoiled them with love.

Frances was a very loving, caring, generous person. Her biggest joys in life were her children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a volunteer for numerous children's activities throughout the years.

Her family will always love, honor, and miss her as she was the glue that held us all together.

We thank God for her faith and how she lived it for her family.

Mrs. Hoffer is survived by her husband, Gilbert T. Hoffer of Cheyenne; a son, Thomas Hoffer of Cheyenne; a daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Dan Adkison of Cheyenne; a brother, Cloyd Harris Jr. of Goodyear, Ariz.; a sister, Jean Brown of Cheyenne; four grandchildren, Alissa Hames and her husband Mike, and Breann Adkison, all of Cheyenne, Hollie Healy and her husband Ben and Brandee Hahn and her husband Scott, all of Luling, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Desirae Hahn, Destynee Hahn and Grant Hahn, all of Luling.

She was preceded in death by her son, Tim Hoffer; and a brother, Bill Harris.

The memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Pastor Jeff Heitsch officiating.

Cremation will be at Schrader's Sunset Park Crematory.

Geneva Moran

1922-2005

Geneva Moran, 82, of Cheyenne died Feb. 1 at the Life Care Center.

She was born Feb. 17, 1922, in Veblen, S.D., and lived here since the 1970s.

Mrs. Moran is survived by three sons, Dale Moran of Portland, Ore., Wayne Moran of Brentwood, Calif. and Bill Moran of Loveland, Colo.; two daughters, Kathy Moran and Ann Valerio, both of Cheyenne; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Magnus "Chief" Moran on Jan. 17, 2002; her parents, William and Mary High Eagle; four brothers; and four sisters.

Services will be 11 a.m. today at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes with the Rev. J.D. Megason officiating.

Interment will be in Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Mike Moran, Alonzo Valerio, Danny Lowe, Norman Handley, Wade Moran and Dell Marshall.

Honorary pallbearers will be James Moran, Carlos Reyes, Ruben Valerio, Barbara Birdsbill and Xavier Moran.

Friends may contribute to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.

Helen F. Allen

1912-2005

Longtime Cheyenne resident Helen Fowler Allen, 92, died Feb. 1 at home.

She was born May 12, 1912, in Colorado Springs, Colo. She moved with her parents, Chester and Winifred Fowler, to Cheyenne in 1917 where her father became the general yardmaster for the Union Pacific Railroad.

Mrs. Allen attended Converse Grade School on East 20th St., and graduated from Cheyenne High School in 1931.

She married Bart Allen in 1934.

Helen, as everyone called her, resided at 818 W. First Ave. for more than 65 years. Her husband, Barton F. Allen, who died in 1969, was an assistant fire chief at the Cheyenne Fire Department.

Also preceding her in death were her parents, Chet and Winnie Fowler; her brothers, Col. George Fowler, Ralph Fowler, Lt. Col. John Fowler and Capt. Warren Fowler; her sister, Florence Fowler; and a grandchild, Terri Lynn Murphy.

Mrs. Allen is survived by her three children, Mary Ann Murphy of Littleton, Colo., and Bill Allen and Yogi Allen, both of Cheyenne; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ed Fowler of Cheyenne.

Mrs. Allen was active at the University Medical Center-West Pink Boutique where she was the Monday cart volunteer for many years. She was also a member of XJWC, a 60-year member of Mizpah Chapter No. 36 of the Order of Eastern Star, Elks Widows, Scottish Rite Widows, Firefighters retirees, Impaired Vision Support Group (macular degeneration) and was the Sunshine Girl at AARP for many years. Always smiling, Helen Allen was a charming lady to all who knew her. She traveled extensively with Larry Uphoff tours.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church, 108 E. 18th St., with the Rev. Nadine Korhonen officiating.

Interment will be in Beth El cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ken Murphy, Stan Hunt, Bruce Loshbaugh, Jim Stilson, Vince Osborn and John Pacheco.

Friends may contribute to the United Medical Center Hospice, 214 E. 23rd St., Cheyenne, WY 82001.

Lorin D. Wood

1916-2005

Lorin D. "Woody" Wood, 88, of Cheyenne died Feb. 2 at United Medical Center-West.

He was born May 26, 1916, in Willard, Utah.

He was a business owner in Utah and sold real estate in Utah, Arizona and Nevada.

He married Lucille Law on Sept. 8, 1974, in Cheyenne.

He was a Navy veteran during World War II.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the American Legion Post 6.

Mr. Wood is survived by three stepsons, David Hardman of Bremmerton, Wash., Paul Hardman of Vancouver, Wash., and Raymond Law of Pasco, Wash.; a daughter, Linda Sue James of Las Vegas; a stepdaughter, Margaret Kinney of Cheyenne; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Wood; his parents, George C. and Esther P. (Harding) Wood; and one great-grandson.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Monday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with the Pastors Robert E. Schmidt and Roger W. Rapp.

Cremation will be at Schrader's Sunset Park Crematory.

M. Grace McNally

1915-2005

M. Grace McNally, 89, of Cheyenne died Jan. 31 at Mountain Towers Healthcare center.

She was born June 1, 1915, in Wedgeport, Nova Scotia, and lived here for three years with prior residence in Wakefield, Mass.

Mrs. McNally is survived by three sons, Bill McNally of Norwich, Conn., Leonard McNally of New York City, and Paul McNally of Providence, R.I.; two daughters, Susan A. Quille of Cheyenne, and Geraldine Carley of Wakefield; a sister, Marie Haslam of Stoneham, Mass.; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Urban McNally in 2001; and her parents, Raymond and Flora LeBlanc.

Services and interment will be in Wakefield.

Friends may contribute to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Local arrangements are under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.

Marie M. Schutte

1921-2005

Marie M. Schutte, 83, of Burns died Jan. 30 at United Medical Center-West.

She was born March 2, 1921, in Windsor, Colo., and lived in Burns for 58 years.

Mrs. Burns was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Burns and the Heritage Quilters.

She was a farmer's wife who worked for the Laramie County School District 1 in Cheyenne for 24 years.

Mrs. Schutte is survived by two sons, Alvin E. Schutte of Burns and Raymond W. Schutte of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; a brother, Ferdinand Michel of Fort Collins, Colo.; a sister, Miriam Graetzer of Estes Park, Colo.; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest W. Schutte in November 1986; her parents, Henry and Katie Michel; three brothers, Daniel Michel, Samuel Michel and Reuben Michel; and a sister, Frieda Pownall.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes with Pastor Gwyn Downing officiating.

Interment will be in Burns Lutheran cemetery.

Friends may contribute to the American Heart Association.

Services are under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.
