Donna K. Persons
1948-2004
Donna K. Persons, 56, of Bothell, Wash., died Oct. 30.
She was born Oct. 8, 1948.
Mrs. Persons graduated from St. Mary's in Cheyenne in 1967 and later attended the University of Wyoming in Laramie. She met and married
Ike Persons and moved with him to Seattle from 1970 to 1972. They moved to Casper in 1972, where Donna worked with her husband Ike in the family business, Target Electric, Inc.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
In 1986, the Persons returned to the Seattle area to pursue new careers.
Mrs. Persons is survived by her husband, Ike; four daughters; 11 grandchildren; one brother; and one sister.
A rosary service was held Nov. 3 at St. Brendan Catholic Church in Bothell, Wash. The Funeral service was held at Eastside Foursquare Church, 14520 - 100th Ave. in Bothell, Wash.
Grover W. Black
1919-2004
Grover Willis "Bud" Black, 85, of Cheyenne died Oct. 31 of a heart attack in Winter Haven, Fla.
He was born Oct. 26, 1919, in Louisville, Ky., the son of Albert and Rebecca Black.
Mr. Black grew up, received his education and then joined the U.S. Army in 1937. He started with the Cavalry Unit and served until 1941. He then joined the U.S. Navy where he fought in the Pacific theater during World War II and retired in 1958 as a chief aviation electrician's mate.
He met Phyllis Elsbeth Hughes in Honolulu, and the couple married
on Aug. 12, 1947, at Alameda, California, Naval Air Station. They both served as air crew for the Naval Air Transport Service. In the early 1960s, Bud worked on Atlas and Minuteman missile sites in Wyoming and New Mexico.
He fulfilled a dream when he bought a farm near Athens, Wis. The Blacks moved to Wyoming in 1972 where Bud opened A-1 Truck Sales at Silver Tip Corner near Yoder.
Bud was a member and past commander of both American Legion Post No. 5 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2918 in Torrington and was a charter member of the Legion's Last Platoon. Bud was also a volunteer fireman and Emergency Medical Technician II in Yoder and a special deputy of the Goshen County Sheriff's Posse.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis of Cheyenne; a daughter Nancy Black Sullivan of Aiea, Hawaii; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Cynthia Black, and Robert and Beth Black, all of Cheyenne; two sisters, Marie Black Shenesky of Winter Haven, Fla., and Ruby Black Dockery of Louisville, Ky.; two brothers, Charles Genton of Louisville and Alois Genton of Jeffersonville, Ind.; five grandchildren, Brett Sullivan, Mark Black, Greg Black, Rebecca Black, and Jennifer Black; and a great-granddaughter, Breanna Black.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Steven Allan Black; and a brother, James Black.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tom Kittleman officiating.
Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Valley View cemetery.
Cremation has taken place.

Mary A. Johnson
1932-2004
Mary A. Johnson, 72, of Cheyenne died Nov. 18 after an extended illness in Gold Canyon, Ariz.
She was born April 30, 1932.
Mrs. Johnson previously worked in Cheyenne for Mountain States Telephone and managed DePaul Memorial Credit Union.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Jerry R. Johnson of Gold Canyon; sons, Larry W. Hearn of Cheyenne, James E. Hearn of Loveland, Colo., and Charles "Kelly" Johnson of Indiantown, Fla.; a daughter, Debbie Scott of Cheyenne; a brother, William P. Lamar of Morgan City, La.; and a sister, V. Margaret Herber of Peoria, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her parents, William P. and Addie E. Lamar; brother, Clyde P. Lamar; and two grandchildren.
Cremation will be followed by a private family memorial service at a future date.

Robert B. Ford
1921-2004
Robert Bernard "Bob" Ford, 83, of Cheyenne died Nov. 17 at Cheyenne Healthcare Center.
He was born Feb. 24, 1921, in Washington County, Colo.
Mr. Ford served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a truck driver.
Mr. Ford was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Ford of Cheyenne, whom he married
June 2, 1946; six sons, David Ford of Chattanooga, Tenn., Joel Ford of Holts Summit, Mo., Jerry Ford of Sandy, Utah, Darryl Ford of Columbia, Mo., Leon Ford of Salt Lake City and John Ford of Midvale, Utah; two daughters, Denise Starrs of Ontario, Canada, and Lori Jones of California, Mo.; two brothers, Roy A. Ford of Parker, Colo., and Claude J. Ford of Arvada, Colo.; a sister, Fansion Juenemann of Springfield, Colo.; 19 grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and five stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Joy; his parents, Claude and Grace Ford; and a sister, Dolores White.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Four Mile Building with Bishop Lyle Gadbury conducting.
Interment will be in Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Ford, David Ford, John Ford, Darryl Ford, Leon Ford and Joel Ford.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.
The family will receive friends from 9-10 a.m. Monday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Four Mile Building Relief Society Room.

Rock E. Pontillo
1914-2004
Rock Edward "Ed" Pontillo, 90, of Cheyenne died Nov. 18 at St. Anthony's Central Hospital in Denver.
He was born June 4, 1914, in Cheyenne and had lived here all of his life.
Mr. Pontillo was a co-owner and founder of Jo-Ed Produce.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Mr. Pontillo was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral, Knights of Columbus and the Moose Lodge.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Frances Pontillo of Cheyenne; six children, Joanne Marker of Canandaigua, N.Y., the Rev. John Pontillo of Northglenn, Colo., and Esther Byrne, Michelle Ornelaz, Peter Pontillo and Rock Pontillo, all of Cheyenne; a sister, Mary Daly of Cheyenne; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Jennie Pontillo, and numerous brothers and sisters.
Vigil for the Deceased will be 4 p.m. today at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes with the Rev. John Pontillo officiating.
Funeral Liturgy will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Cathedral with the Rev. Gary Ruzicka as the celebrant and the Rev. John Pontillo assisting.
Interment will be in Olivet cemetery.
Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will be Chris Pontillo, Riley Pontillo, Dennis Byrne, Kevin Byrne, Ray Ornelaz and Denny Marker.

Rosanna M. Bremer
1938-2004
Rosanna Marie "Rosi" Bremer, 66, of Wheatland died Nov. 19 at her home in Wheatland.
She was born Oct. 8, 1938, in Wichita, Kan., the daughter of Joe and Esther (Whittington) Garramone.
A Vigil for the Deceased will be 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Saint Patrick Catholic Church in Wheatland.
A funeral mass will be 4 p.m. Tuesday at Saint Patrick Catholic Church.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Gorman Funeral Homes - Platte Chapel of Wheatland.

Theresa L. Werner
1936-2004
Theresa Lou "Terri" Werner, 68, of Cheyenne died Nov. 16 in Cheyenne.
She was born July 14, 1936, in Belle Plaine, Minn., and had lived here for more than 40 years.
Mrs. Werner was a housekeeper at the Fleetwood Motel and United Medical Center.
She loved her guinea pigs!
Mrs. Werner is survived by three sons, Kirk Arnold, Scott Arnold and Bruce Arnold; a stepdaughter, Dusty Baum; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a very close friend, Cathy Fox of Cheyenne.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joern H. Werner, on Sept. 20, 1994; and her parents, Kenneth and Theresa Karp.
At her request, no services will be held. Just remember her in life!
Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.
William O. Rader
1932-2004
William O. Rader, 71, of Cheyenne died Nov. 16 in Cheyenne.
He was born Dec. 17, 1932, in Auburn, Neb.
Mr. Rader was an industrial engineer for Rocky Flats Plant.
He married
Joan Flinchum on June 7, 1953, in Longmont, Colo.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and Homesteaders in Golden, Colo.
Mr. Rader is survived by his wife, Joan Rader of Cheyenne; a son, William O. Rader Jr. of Loveland, Colo.; four daughters, Connie Evans and Sherry Boelens, both of Aurora, Colo., Pam Pedersen of Loveland and Peggy Duso of Cheyenne; a sister, Margaret Corbin of Longmont; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Erma Duffield; and a granddaughter.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Bob Garrard officiating.
Burial will be in Mountain View cemetery in Longmont.
Pallbearers will be Gordon Duffield, Dave Evans, Larry Evans, Travis Harrison, Shane Pedersen, Justin Pedersen and Evan Rader.

Wynonia L. Nevells
1913-2004
Wynonia L. Nevells, 91, of Cheyenne died Nov. 17 at Saint Francis Hospital in Topeka, Kan.
She was born Jan. 5, 1913, in Milano, Texas.
Mrs. Nevells was a homemaker.
She married
Jessie Nevells on Dec. 24, 1960, in Cheyenne.
Mrs. Nevells was a member of Order of Eastern Star - Western Chapter No. 6 and American Legion Auxiliary. She was a lifetime member of Allen Chapel, African Methodist Episcopal Church in Cheyenne and a member of New Mount Zion Baptist Church in Topeka for 2 years.
She is survived by her husband, Jessie Nevells of Cheyenne and a daughter, Carolyn Watkin of Topeka.
Mrs. Nevells was preceded in death by three brothers, Fred Ellis of Waco, Texas, Eppie Ellis and Denson Ellis; two sisters, Elnora Crook and Senovia Johnson; and two grandchildren.
A funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Schrader Chapel with Pastor Benjamin D. Watson Sr. officiating.
Interment will be in Beth El cemetery.

Bernice M. Dexter

Bernice M. Dexter, 92, of Cheyenne died Nov. 22 in Cheyenne.
She was born Jan. 28, 1912, in Elm Creek, Neb., and had lived here for eight years.
Mrs. Dexter is survived by a son, Clarence M. Dexter Jr. of Cheyenne; two daughters, Patricia E. Kozas of Cheyenne and Alberta C. Anderson of Corbett, Ore.; two brothers, Kenneth Monahan of Salt Lake City and Dale Monahan of Prescott, Ariz.; two sisters, Lois Stevens of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Elsie Forslyn of Green River; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence M. Dexter; her parents, Charles and Clara Monahan; and five brothers and sisters.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. today at the Rugged Cross Chapel in Cheyenne Memorial Gardens with Chaplain David Stratton officiating.
