Lois M. Potter
1926-2004
Lois Mae Potter, 77, of Cheyenne died Aug. 8 at United Medical Center-West after a lengthy illness.
She was born Oct. 11, 1926, in Williamsburg, Pa. She attended school in Williamsburg and Altoona, Pa.
She married
Arthur Lloyd Mowery, and together they raised their sons in Williamsburg. She married
her second husband, William G. Potter, also of Pennsylvania, and helped raise his three children, who soon came to call her mom.
In 1974, the family moved to Cheyenne, where Mrs. Potter worked several jobs and retired in 1988. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and working crossword puzzles, as well as spending time with her family.
She is survived by two sons, Richard S. Mowery and Roger L. Mowery, both of Cheyenne; a stepson, William J. Potter of Cheyenne; a stepdaughter, Teresa Potter Eberharter of Cheyenne; a sister, Jean Robeson of Williamsburg; four grandchildren; a stepgrandson; two great-grandchildren; two great-stepgrandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by both her husbands, Arthur Lloyd Mowery in 1965 and William G. Potter in 1995; her parents, Robert and Nellie Rice Kennedy; a stepdaughter, Patricia Potter; a grandson; a stepgranddaughter; and a great-grandson.
Graveside services will be 9 a.m. today at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Dan Irish officiating.
Steve O. Hartley
1966-2004
Steve O. Hartley, 38, of Cheyenne died Aug. 9 in Chadron, Neb.
He was born June 9, 1966, in Cheyenne and had lived here all of his life.
Mr. Hartley was a lab technician for QC Testing.
He was a member of Zion Congregational Church.
Mr. Hartley is survived by his wife, Patricia Hartley of Cheyenne, whom he married
Aug. 11, 2001; a son, Steven Hartley of Cheyenne; two stepsons, Richie Anderson and Tyler Janicek; a stepdaughter, Heather Anderson; a brother, Kevin Hartley of Jacksonville, N.C.; two half brothers, Terry Hartley and Dale Hartley, both of Cheyenne; and a sister, Rhonda Green of Littleton, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Viola Hartley.
Services will be 1 p.m. today at Zion Congregational Church with the Rev. Elmer Wilhelm officiating.
Cremation will follow at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Rusty Green, Kevin Hartley, Steven Hartley, Richie Anderson, Gary Curtis and David Curtis.
Services are under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.
Carol O. Smith
1938-2004
Carol Oliver Smith, 66, a resident of Hinkley, Calif., for 16 years, died August 6.
She was born July 16, 1938, in Burkett, Texas and had lived in Cheyenne from 1979 to 1986.
When living in Cheyenne, Mrs. Smith was a member of the Moose Lodge.
She enjoyed traveling and crocheting.
She is survived by her husband, Lester Smith of Hinkley; sons, James Crocker of Las Vegas, Nev., Curtis Smith of Newberry Springs, Calif., and James Smith of Oxnard, Calif.; daughters, Christina (Mace) Rush of Cheyenne, Charlene Gurule, Dorothia Montoya, Tiffany Oliver and Amy Rodriguez, all of Hinkley, and Tabitha Pearce of Winston-Salem, N.C.; sisters, Edna Miller of Eunice, N.M., Sandra Carey of Jacksonville, Fla., and Lenora Reed of Martinez, Calif.; brothers, Allen Williams II and Roger Williams, both of Martinez; 23 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Liuren Crocker; her mother, Evelyn Williams; her stepfather, Allen Williams and a son, Joe Combs.
A memorial service was held Aug. 10 at Mead Mortuary in Hinkley.

Jacquelin A. Dillmon
1960-2004
Jacquelin A. "Jackie" Dillmon, 43, of Cheyenne died Aug. 12, at United Medical Center - West.
She was born Nov. 30, 1960, in Haxtun, Colo., and had lived here for 16 years.
Mrs. Dillmon was a former real estate agent and developer.
She is survived by her husband, Gregg A. Dillmon of Cheyenne; a son, Casey J. Yost of Sterling, Colo.; two daughters, Jennifer C. Yost and Kara M. Kuskie, both of Cheyenne; her parents, Lawrence J. and Elsie M. Wernsman of Greeley, Colo.; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Gary R. and Barbara Wernsman of Haxtun, Robert A. and Joyce Wernsman of Colorado Springs, Colo., Dennis L. and Debbie Wernsman of Greeley and Alan V. Wernsman of Sterling; a sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn J. and Jerry Isbell of Greeley; and a grandson, Joseph J. Korte of Cheyenne.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Kathryn M. Anderson.
Services are pending through Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.
Pallbearers will be Rick Yost, Rich Kuskie, Paul Korte, Jerry Isbell, Eric Wernsman and Aaron Anderson.
Virginia E. Stanczyk
1932-2004
Virginia E. Stanczyk, 73, of Cheyenne died Aug. 11 at United Medical Center-West after a long illness. She was born May 12, 1932, in Loup City, Neb. She had been a resident of Cheyenne all her life.
She retired from the state of Wyoming.
She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral and a member of the Bishop's Guild. She enjoyed skiing and traveled to many parts of the world.
She is survived by sisters, Ruth Thacker of Boise, Idaho, Arlene Stanczyk of Thornton, Colo., and Judy Nation of Cheyenne; brothers, Don Stanczyk of Seabring, Fla., Norman Stanczyk of Loveland, Colo., Roman Stanczyk of Englewood, Colo., and Joe Stanczyk of Wall Lake, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roman and Mary Stanczyk; and two brothers, Arnold Stanczyk and Del Stanczyk.
Rosary service will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Schrader Chapel.
Funeral Liturgy will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Cathedral with Rev. Gary J. Ruzicka as the celebrant.
Interment will be in Olivet cemetery.
Audrey G. Reddicks
1923-2004
Audrey Gwendolyn Reddicks, 81, of Wheatland died Aug. 15 at Platte County Memorial Hospital in Wheatland.
She was born Aug. 11, 1923, to Gulfport, Miss., the daughter of Bail Henry and Helene K. (Torjusen) Ray.
Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Wheatland with Pastor Skip Perry officiating. Inurnment with military rites will be in the Wheatland cemetery in Wheatland.

Dale A. Tennant
1957-2004
Dale Allen Tennant, 46, of Cheyenne died Aug. 14 in Cheyenne.
He was born Oct. 20, 1957, in Cheyenne and had lived here all of his life.
Mr. Tennant worked in quality control for the Wyoming Department of Transportation Material Lab for 15 years.
He is survived by a brother, Douglas Stundon of Cheyenne; two sisters, Bonnie Kirkwood of Casper and Carolyn Bartow of Cheyenne; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Mary Tennant.
Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes with the Rev. Ray Moss officiating.
Cremation with interment of his urn will be in Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
Honorary pallbearers will be all of his friends and family.

Jamie A. Carruthers
1985-2004
Jamie A. Carruthers, 18, of Cheyenne died Aug. 15 in Cheyenne.
She was born Sept. 8, 1985, in Cheyenne.
Ms. Carruthers was a merchandiser.
She is survived by her parents, R.B. and Shelley Carruthers of Cheyenne; a brother, Dustin Carruthers of Laramie; a sister, Tommie Carruthers of Cheyenne; a nephew, Brody Carruthers-Greene of Cheyenne; grandparents, Minnie and Jim Reed of Belle Fourche, S.D., and Dennis Carruthers of Torrington.
She was preceded in death her grandmother, Joan Carruthers.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Schrader Chapel with the Rev. David Kniseley officiating.
Burial will be at Schrader's Sunset Park Crematory.

Margaret M. Pennington
1922-2004
Margaret Maxine Pennington, 81, of Cheyenne died Aug. 15 at Life Care Center.
She was born Oct. 31, 1922, in Friend, Neb., and had lived here since 1947.
Mrs. Pennington was a PBX operator at LandAir, Veterans Affairs Medical Center, F.E. Warren Air Force Base and then Civil Service. She worked at the Lazy BL Card Company and enjoyed Cheyenne Frontier Days and Halloween.
Mrs. Pennington was a member of First Presbyterian Church and Beta Sigma Phi.
She is survived by a brother, John "Jack" Conroy of Cheyenne; three nephews; five nieces; numerous great-nephews and nieces; and great-great-nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Pennington on Jan.15, 1971; her parents, John and Florence Conroy; and a nephew.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes with the Rev. Robert Walkley officiating.
Interment will be in Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.

Richard F. Owens
1925-2004
Richard F. Owens, 79, of Cheyenne died Aug. 14 in Cheyenne.
He was born June 26, 1925, in Cheyenne.
Mr. Owens was a banker for 32 years.
He married
Beverly Berry on June 7, 1953 in Cheyenne.
He served in the Air Corps during World War II and in the Air Force during the Korean War.
He was an avid fisherman and bird hunter.
Mr. Owens is survived by his wife, Beverly Owens of Cheyenne; a son and daughter-in-law, John R. and Vicke A. Owens of Bar Nunn; and two grandchildren, Ryan F. Owens and Heather M. Owens, both of Bar Nunn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde M. and Mary Alice Owens.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Lakeview cemetery with Gary Birge officiating.
Burial will be in Lakeview cemetery.

William V. Porter
1931-2004
William Vincent "Bill" Porter, 72, of Cheyenne died Aug. 13 at United Medical Center-West.
He was born Nov. 6, 1931, in Pine Bluffs and had lived in Cheyenne since 1960.
Mr. Porter served in the Army during the Korean War in the 10th infantry division, 101st signal btn.
He was a heavy equipment operator for the city of Cheyenne for 24 years.
He was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars No. 1881 and a member of Moose Lodge No. 257 and the American Quarter Horse Association.
He was the best dad in the world.
Mr. Porter is survived by his wife, Dell Rae Porter of Cheyenne, whom he married
Aug. 27, 1960; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Gerry Porter of Cheyenne, Sonny and Kathy Porter of Carpenter and Jack and Kim Porter of Cheyenne; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and Monte Hughes and Polly and Sonny Cross, all of Cheyenne; a brother, Tom Porter of Carpenter; 12 grandchildren, Stacie Schleicher, Jill Laverty, Jana Fitzgerald, Shane Walradt, Shae Dene Alamo, Austin Hughes, April Matthie, Tommy Porter, Zachary Porter, Tyrel Cross, Jack V. Porter and Courtnay Porter; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Billie James Porter; a daughter, Loy Dene Walradt; his parents, Jack C. and Minnie Porter; two brothers, Bobby Porter and George Porter; and three granddaughters.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens with Guy Landers officiating.
Pallbearers will be Shae Dene Alamo, Tommy Porter, Zachary Porter, Tyrel Cross, Austin Hughes and Jack V. Porter.
Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Honor Guard.
