Edwin D. Harris
March 30, 1929 -- May 20, 2004
Edwin D. Harris, 75, of Deaver, died Thursday, May 20, 2004, at North Big Horn Hospital in Lovell. Edwin was born on March 30, 1929, in Lynn City, Mo., to Travis H. and Rosemary E. Raplee Harris. He married Leontine Knecht on April 14, 1958, in Cody. Edwin served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He has lived in Deaver area for the past 9 1/2 years, coming from Staples, Mo. Edwin is survived by his wife; son, Dale Harris of Billings; daughter, Debra Harris of Billings; granddaughter, Laura; sisters, Colleen Johnson of Surprise, Ariz., and Vondell Bell of Billings; nieces, Judy Buening and Jodi Klundt; and great nieces, Krystal Buening, Jennifer Buening, Sarah Buening and Janelle Mehling. Memorial Services were held on Wednesday, May 26, 2004, in the Deaver Cemetery. Haskell Funeral Home in Lovell was in charge of arrangements.
Annabelle Cozzens
Annabelle Cozzens, 71, died Tuesday, May 25, 2004, at West Park Long Term Care Center in Cody. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 28, at Haskell Funeral Home in Lovell. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 29, at 10 a.m. in the Byron LDS Chapel in Byron. Interment will be in the Byron Cemetery. Haskell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
James A. Zaring
June 3, 1912 -- May 26, 2004
Memorial funeral services for former long-time Basin resident James Alvin Zaring, age 91, were held Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at the United Methodist Church in Basin with Reverend Jack Preston officiating. Cremation has taken place. Burial of cremains with Masonic Graveside Rites presided over by Temple Lodge #20 A.F.& A.M. followed the services at the Mount View Cemetery in Basin. James Alvin Zaring died on May 26, 2004, after a short illness, at the long Term Care Center in Cody. Mr. Zaring was born on June 3, 1912, the fourth son of Clarence Arthur and Nellene (Miller) Zaring in Basin, where he lived most of his life. He went to the University of Indiana where he graduated in 1934 with a bachelor of arts degree. He then entered the University of Wyoming Law School and graduated with an L.L.B. in law in 1936. After he was admitted to the Bar Association, he returned to Basin and practiced with his father until he was inducted into the Army in 1941. He was promoted to the rank of Major and returned home after the war to continue the practice of law in the firm then known as Zaring and Zaring. James served one and one-half terms as County and Prosecuting Attorney of Big Horn County. He and his father then practiced together until 1958. In 1961, after the death of his father in 1960, the firm became known as Zaring and Gish, and James continued in the firm until his retirement. He represented the Town of Basin, Big Horn Rural Electric Association, and Tri-County Telephone for more than 20 years; thereafter, as chairman of the Grievance Committee. He was a life-long member of the United Methodist Church of Basin. He was a member and Past Commander of Marion Tanner Post #29 American Legion. He was also a member of Temple Lodge #20 A.F.& A.M. and Kalif Temple Shrine of Sheridan and past president of the Basin-Greybull Shrine Club. He married Eleanor Brome in 1951 and they had two children, Anne Strenger and John Zaring, who have survived him. That was a very happy marriage until Eleanor died in 1972. James married Marie Wenke on October 17, 1983, and spent the happiest years of his life with her, traveling all over the world, and living in Arizona. He was very healthy all of his life, and until recently, the only medication he had taken were vitamin pills. He enjoyed golf and having dinners with friends. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Eleanor; three brothers, Arthur, Miller and Milton; and two sisters, Dorothy Gish and Hortense Zaring. He is survived by his wife, Marie of Cody; his children, Anne and John; his step-children, Bill and Rusty Wenke and their wives of Cody; three grand-children; several step-grandchildren; and a nephew, Robert Gish of Basin. A memorial fund has been established at the the Security State Bank, P.O. Box 531, Basin, WY 82410, with proceeds to go to the United Methodist Church of Basin. Betty Winterholler
March 17, 1928 – May 28, 2004
Betty Winterholler, 76, of Gillette, died on Friday, May 28, 2004 at the Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Gillette of natural causes. Betty Jane Winterholler was born on March 17, 1928, the only daughter of Carl E. and Jewel B. (Hahn) Lee in Binger, Okla. She lived with her family in several cities in Oklahoma due to her father working in the oilfields. They moved to Lovell in 1943 where she finished high school and met the love of her life, Fred Winterholler. Betty was a cheerleader for her high school and was voted "Best Dressed Senior." She and Fred were inseparable in high school. They married on December 31, 1946. They attended Casper College together where Betty took business classes. They made their home in Lovell and started their family. Betty became the loving mother of three boys, Michael, Richard and Ronald. They moved their family to several places before moving to Gillette in 1970, where she made their home until the time of her death. Betty was confirmed in the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church in Lovell. She enjoyed her Bible study groups and being an active member of her churches. She enjoyed bowling on a league with her husband and playing cards, especially bridge in a Marathon Bridge Club, where her partner Bev and she took the championship last year. She was a member of the Petroleum Club in Gillette. She enjoyed dancing and spending time with her family and friends. She liked taking family fishing trips, reading and was an excellent cook. Christmas was a really special time for her, as her whole family would be together. Betty was a very kind and loving wife, mom, grandma, great grandma and friend. She enjoyed her grandchildren and all of their activities. She was a devoted, loving wife and one of her fondest memories was her and Fred’s 50th wedding anniversary. Betty is survived by her three sons, Michael L. (Pamela) Winterholler of Big Horn, Richard R. (Gail) Winterholler and Ronald C. (Tonya) Winterholler both of Gillette; two aunts, Bernice Swonger of Restfork, Ark., and Ruby Lee of Hornerville, Mo.; one uncle, Shrum B. Lee of Binger, Okla.; five grandchildren, Kelly (Jody) Winterholler, Jon, Sara, Emerald and Esther Winterholler and two great-grandsons, Kyle and Kayden Winterholler, She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Winterholler on April 16, 2004; and her parents. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 3, 2004, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Gillette with Reverend Scott Firminhac officiating. Visitation was held on Wednesday, June 2, 2004 at the Stevenson Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Gillette and will also be held on Friday, June 4, 2004 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at Haskell Funeral Home in Lovell with a graveside service at 11:45 a.m. in the Lovell Cemetery with Pastor Chris Brandt of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Lovell officiating. A memorial has been established to the LWML at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Gillette. Memorials may be sent in care of the Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home 210 W. 5th St. Gillette, WY 82716.
Janice Lee Thompson
Aug. 18, 1939 – May 22, 2004
Janice Lee (Klundt) Thompson died May 22, 2004. She was born in Jamestown, N.D., on August 18, 1939. From 1962 to 1976, she lived in Lovell raising her five children while married to Richard Klundt. She eventually moved to North Dakota, and then to Texas, where she worked in payroll and accounts payable. Upon retirement, she enjoyed the peace and calm of country living in Terrell, Texas, where she could tend her garden, read books, or work on a quilt. She was a woman of many talents that stretched the course of the alphabet from appliqué, cooking, crocheting, knitting, quilting, and sewing, to name only a few. She will be missed by family and friends. She is survived by her children, Dave Klundt of Ashwaubenon, Wisc., Timothy Klundt of Rio Rancho, N.M., Vicki Gellner of Fountain Hills, Ariz., Scott Klundt of Arlington, Va., and Pamela Klundt of Garland, Texas; her eight grandchildren; her sister; five nephews; one niece; and her mother, Irene Stoddard; as well as the many friends she crossed paths with during the course of her life. She left behind many who cherish the legacy of her gifts and talents. Memorial services were held on Saturday, May 29, 2004, at the Flower Mound Family Funeral Home in Flower Mound, Texas, for Jan and her beloved sister Gayle.
Mary Naomi Wilson Fexlix Pollet
Dec. 12, 1908 – May 26, 2004
Mary Naomi Wilson Felix Pollet died in the early morning hours on May 26, 2004. She was born on Dec. 12, 1908, the fourth daughter of six to Jason Crichton and Millesant Wheelock Wilson. Her birthplace was a ranch near Fort Bridger. Though she lived many places, Bridger Valley and Mountain View were always home. A firm believer in continued learning through living and study, her education began in Mountain View and Robertson and she completed her formal education and received her teaching certificate from Laramie. She was the last living member of her Mountain View High graduating class of 1925. Naomi was married to Johnie Felix on May 23, 1926, in Evanston,. They were soon joined by sons, Wilson J. and Jerry Dwayne. Tragically, Johnies' life was short because of ill health. On March 14, 1945, Naomi married Charles Burl Pollet (Buck) in Ely, Nev. Soon there were new additions to the family. Pete, was stillborn, a very sad occurrence, then daughters Christy Ellen, and Jicki Val came along followed by another much welcome son, Charles Burl Jr. (Chuck) Following the oil booms, the family lived many places in Wyoming, Texas, Nebraska, Utah, Montana, Colorado and the Dakotas. They always returned to Mountain View, finally retiring there. As age and ill health took its toll, Naomi and Buck decided to relocate closer to some family members. After much thought it was decided to move to Powell. They have been in Powell about 12 years. Naomi resided at the Powell Valley Care Center for 4 1/2 years after breaking her hip. She gained new friends and had great care while living there. She looked forward to the many visits of family members and the Happy Hour music. The LDS sacrament meetings were so important to her until she became very ill. Naomi was an active member of the LDS church most of her life, serving in many capacities. She loved to dance and sing, play basketball, ride horses, working with her dad as a child, genealogy research, writing poems and stories, and was always the "family communicator" until her eyesight failed. Most of all she loved her family and husband. Her support and loyalty has always been there for them. She and Buck enjoyed many a card game the last few years. Naomi was preceded in death by her parents; and her five sisters, Ouida Mae Wilson, Juanita Finnegan (Bill), Harriet Maude (Peggy) Wood (Charles), Dorothea May Sumner (Keith), and Edney Foy Schanche (Otto); her husband, Johnie Felix in 1944; daughter-in-law, Gladys Mae Felix; several nieces and nephews; a grandson, Jerry Brionne Tanner; and many other dear relatives and friends. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Buck; her children, Wilson Felix, Jerry Felix (Flo), Christy Petrich (John), Jicki Brown (Mike), and Chuck Pollet (Gloria); 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter and many extended family members. Funeral services were held at the Byron LDS chapel Tuesday, June 1, 2004, at 2 p.m. Burial followed at the Byron Cemetery. Though she often sang "Take Me Back to Bridger Valley", she and Buck decided some years ago that they liked the Byron Cemetery. And with agreement from the rest of the family, that's as it will be. Haskell Funeral Home in Lovell had charge of services.
Claudia Robertson Negro
January 5, 1948 -- May 28, 2004
Claudia Robertson Negro, 56, died Friday, May 28, 2004, at her home in Lovell. She was born on January 5, 1948, in Powell, the first daughter of Claude and Evelyn Robertson. She married Donald Ray Negro on September 6, 1966, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple for time and all eternity. Claudia lived in Lovell her whole life and was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. Claudia is survived by her husband, Donald Ray Negro; her father and step-mother, Claude and Millie Robertson; by her son and daughter, Michael and Sandra Negro and Michelle and Ryan Wraught; her five grandchildren, Don Robert and Matthew Negro and Logan, Brandon and Jenna Raye Wraught; and her two sisters, Colleen Workman and Betty Marquardt. She was preceded in death by her mother; her Grandma and Grandpa Robertson and Grandma and Grandpa Morrell. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2004 in the Lovell LDS Stake Center at 10 a.m.. Burial will immediately follow the service at the Lovell Cemetery. Haskell Funeral Home in Lovell is in charge of the arrangements.
Elizabeth Grosinger
Dec. 25, 1911 – May 26, 2004
Elizabeth Grosinger, 92, beloved mother and friend, died May 26, 2004, at Torrington Community Hospital in Torrington. Elizabeth was born December 25, 1911, to Robert and Anna Jack in Loveland, Colo. She attended schools in Loveland and graduated from Loveland High School. She attended State Teacher’s College in Greeley, Colo., and earned a teaching certificate which allowed her to teach in rural schools at that time. Much later, she returned to Greeley to earn a bachelor’s degree (1962). In 1936, Elizabeth moved to Wyoming where she met her husband, Paul Grosinger. Following their marriage they lived in Lovell for many years where she taught in the Lovell Elementary Schools from 1959 - 1974. Along with teaching, she enjoyed working with community women’s groups Delta Kappa Gamma, Girl Scouts, Federated Women’s Club and St. Joseph’s Altar and Rosary Society, as well as working in her church. She enjoyed people of all ages and was a loving mother and grandmother. Following retirement, Elizabeth and Paul truly enjoyed traveling and visiting with friends and relatives until they could no longer travel due to health problems. After Paul’s death, Elizabeth moved to Torrington to be near her daughter, Kay. She enjoyed meeting new friends and living near her daughter. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul; and sisters, Marian, Anna, Katherine and Roberta. Survivors include daughters, Kay Grosinger of Torrington, Jeanne and Joe Pomajzl of Cody; granddaughter, Lori Pomajzl of Reno, Nev., grandson and wife Steve and Rikki Pomajzl; and great-granddaughter, Sydney Elizabeth Pomajzl of Cody. She also leaves many beloved nieces, nephews and their families. Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lovell, with Father Kevin Koch of Torrington presiding. Vigil service was Tuesday, June 1, 2004, at 5:30 p.m. at Haskell’s Funeral Home in Lovell. Memorials in Elizabeth’s honor may be made to Shriners Hospital – Intermountain, Fairfax Road at Virginia Street, Salt Lake City, UT 84103 or St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Torrington, WY 82240.
John Edward Clark
October 26, 1925 -- April 8, 2004
A celebration of life was held April 13, 2004, at the family home for John Edward Clark, who died April 8, 2004. John Clark was born in Lovell on October 26, 1925, to John Willard Clark and Anna Allred Clark. He graduated from Lovell High School and attended two years of college. John served in the Navy in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Following his discharge he worked in landscaping in the Billings area. He moved to Portland in 1965, where he worked for several large landscaping companies doing landscaping and irrigation systems throughout the Northwest before starting his own business raising nursery stock and Christmas trees in Sherwood, Ore. He married LuDene Collins in 1970. He is survived by his wife; brother Evan, Bountiful, Utah; daughter Yvonne Guerin, Spokane, Wash.; stepdaughter Kimberley Hunter, Portland; stepsons Greg Collins, Donald, Ore. and Randy Collins, Portland; grandchildren Eli Guerin, Spokane, Daniel Cearley and Desiree Collins, Portland, and Jordan and Nathan Hunter, Portland. His sister, Alvrean Jensen, and brother, Wilbur Clark, preceded him in death. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be sent to Goodneighbor Center, 11130 SW Greenburg Road, Tigard, Ore., or to a charity of choice.
Fred R. Winterholler
Jan. 16, 1928 -- April 25, 2004
Fredrick Richard Winterholler died Sunday, April 25, 2004, at the Campbell County Memorial Hospital in Gillette of an extended illness. Fred was born on January 16, 1928, the son of Carl and Alvina (Wagner) Winterholler in Lovell. He attended rural schools in Lovell and graduated from Lovell High School in 1946. While in school Fred was on the basketball and football teams for four years. Fred won all-conference basketball player his senior year. In the fall of 1946 Fred attended Casper College for mechanics. He married Betty Lee on December 31, 1946, in Lovell. They made their home in Lovell and Fred worked as a painter for his brother-in-law before beginning his career with Mobil Oil. Fred began as a roustabout and worked many different positions before he became senior superintendent. Fred’s 45 years with Mobil Oil took him many places throughout North Dakota, Wyoming, Colorado and Montana. In 1970 Fred and his family moved to Gillette where he resided until his death. In Lovell, Fred was confirmed in the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church and upon moving to Gillette was a very active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. Fred was on the building committee and was an usher for more than 20 years. He was a very devoted Christian man to his church and family. In his younger years he enjoyed bowling with his wife and family and was always interested in all athletics. He played basketball for 20 years on the J.C. Leagues. Fred enjoyed all his friends, especially at gatherings. Fred enjoyed watching his grandsons play basketball and his granddaughters‚ figure skating. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather; he loved his family dearly. Mr. Winterholler retired from Mobil Oil in 1990 and spent his time on his boat fishing the waters of Canada, Montana, South Dakota, Wyoming and Utah. Fishing was his greatest passion and he enjoyed it with his family and grandsons. Being born and raised in the "Rose City" -- Lovell, Wyoming, Fred took great pride in his yard and his roses. During his illness Fred was cared for by his special daughter-in-law, Tonya, who would do anything to make him comfortable. She traveled with him recently to Cleveland, Ohio. Fred is survived by his wife, Betty Winterholler of Gillette; three sons, Michael L. (Pamela) Winterholler of Big Horn, Richard R. (Gail) Winterholler and Ronald C. (Tonya) Winterholler both of Gillette; one brother, Victor C. (Dorothy) Winterholler of Lovell; five grandchildren, Kelly (Jody) Winterholler, Jon, Sara, Emerald and Esther Winterholler and two great-grandsons, Kyle and Kayden Winterholler; two aunts, Lydia Parks and Katie Korell, both of Lovell. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Christina and Selma; and an infant sister, Elizabeth May. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 29, 2004, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Gillette with Reverend Scott Firminhac officiating. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 30, 2004, at the Lovell Cemetery with Reverend Tim Klug officiating. A visitation will be Friday, April 30, 2004, from 9 to 10 a.m. at Haskell Funeral Home in Lovell. A memorial has been established to the Foundation for our Future at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Gillette, Wyoming and memorials can be sent in care of the Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home 210 W. 5th St. Gillette, Wyoming 82716.
Adella B. Marcus
June 10, 1925 – April 30, 2004
Graveside funeral services for a life-time Big Horn County resident, Adella Belle Marcus, age 78, were held on Monday May 3, 2004, at the Mount View Cemetery in Basin, with pastor Jerry Fuller officiating. Burial followed after the services. Adella died early Friday morning, April 30, 2004, at the Bonnie Bluejacket Memorial Nursing Home between Basin and Greybull, where she had been a resident since the first part of April 2004. Adella was born on June 10, 1925, in Greybull, the daughter of George and Steva Fern Scott. She attended school in Greybull and graduated from Greybull High School in 1943. Duing her school years she excelled in 4-H, wining a trip to the national 4-H congress in Chicago, Illinois. After graduation, she went to Rochester, Minn., and attended nursing school. She then came back to Greybull and on July 11, 1946, she married Emil Louis Marcus, and moved to the farm on Emblem Bench. They later bought a farm in Gould District, west of Basin, and farmed there until Emil’s death. Mrs. Marcus was active in 4-H throughout her life as a leader and as a mentor. She was manager of the Big Horn County Fair for many years. It was always her greatest pleasure to go to the fair. Many will remember the mornings at fair when she would wake everyone by singing "O, What a Beautiful Morning" at six, over the P.A. system. Adella is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Emil on December 28, 1984. Adella is survived by her four children, George (Linda) Marcus of Otto, Roy (Jean) Marcus of Greybull, Bob (Carolyn) Marcus of Ten Sleep, and Steva (Rick) Dooley of Basin; eight grandchildren, Chrisit, Heather, George Jr., John, Rodney, Brian, Patrick, and Christopher; one step-granddaughter, Kaila Rohrer; and two great-grandchildren, Lisa Marcus and Adam Marcus. A memorial fund has been established at the Security State Bank, P.O. Box 531, Basin, WY 82410. To go toward a pavilion at the Big Horn County Fairgrounds. Henry Carl Adolf
June 11, 1917 -- May 3, 2004
Henry Carl Adolf, age 86, died May 3, 2004, surrounded by his family in the North Big Horn Hospital. Hank was born June 11, 1917, in Worland, to Gottfried and Marie Bauer Adolf. He was the ninth child of 10 children. He lived in Idaho as a small child for six or seven years. The rest of his life was spent in Lovell. He met and married Roma Barnhurst September 7, 1940. Together they raised six daughters. He worked for the Ohio Refinery. When the refinery closed , he went to work for Husky Oil for 17 years, driving back and forth to Cody. He loved hunting, fishing, sports, reading, riding his bike and gardening. He was known to raise a wonderful garden. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Roma; daughters, Evon (Jay) May, Nancy (Ken) Bullinger, Marilyn (Lee) Sharp, Rosiland (Tim) Harris and Aneta (Mike) Fink. He is also survived by 30 grandchildren and 69 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, nine brothers and sisters and daughter, Jeanette. Funeral services were held Friday, May 7, 2004, at the Lovell LDS Stake Center. Burial followed in the Lovell Cemetery.
Leonard Lafayette Hendry
March 22, 1921-May 7, 2004
Funeral services for Greybull resident Leonard L. Hendry, age 83, were held on Tuesday, May 11, 2004, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints between Basin and Greybull. Following the funeral services cremation took place and interment of remains will be held at a later date in Hillside Cemetery in Greybull. Leonard Lafayette Hendry died on Friday, May 7, 2004, at the South Big Horn County Hospital between Basin and Greybull. He was born in Washington, D.C. on March 22, 1921, to James Candler and Elsie Catherine (Taylor) Hendry. He attended and graduated from school in Washington, D.C. Leonard was a World War II veteran. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps and was a Pearl Harbor survivor. He married Patricia Hummel on November 26, 1953 in Casper. Leonard moved to the Big Horn Basin in 1972. Patricia died on November 3, 1993. He married Lucille C. Nicholls on November 12, 1994, in Powell. Leonard worked for Pacific Power and Light as an electrician. He loved the outdoors, had very fond memories of Brooks Lake above Dubois, and enjoyed camping and fishing. Leonard is survived by his wife, Lucille of Greybull; two daughters, Susan (Alan) Bentley of Greybull and Teresa Hendry of Powell; grandsons Seth Bentley of Casper, Toby and Aaron Bentley of Greybull, and Austin Pickens of Powell; granddaughter Molly Bentley of Greybull; two great-grandchildren; step-daughters, Margie Gifford, Nola McCance, Shelly Christensen and Elaine Wright; and step-son Mack Nicholls. He is preceded in death by his brothers Lee and Lesley, and sister Lorraine Hendry, and wife Patricia Hendry and son James Leonard Hendry. A memorial has been established at the Big Horn Federal Savings Bank, P.O. Box 471, Greybull, WY 82426 to benefit the senior citizens. James Robert Estes
March 8, 1930 -- May 13, 2004
James Robert Estes, 74, a resident of Frannie, died Thursday, May 13, 2004, at his home in Frannie of hypertensive cardiovascular disease. He was born March 8, 1930, in Kimball, Neb., the son of James Lue Estes and Velma Cleo Pratt. He was a talented woodworking craftsman, building picture frames and other wood products, He is survived by several nieces and nephews including Robert W. Hall of Roberts, Mont. and James Albert Hall of Columbus, Mont. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Haskell Funeral Home of Lovell assisted with arrangements.
Walter Stanley House
Walter Stanley House of Powell died on Wednesday, May 12, 2004, after a valiant fight with cancer in the Salt Lake VA Hospital. Stan was the oldest son born to Oscar William House and Elna Tilda Wasden House in Powell on December 7, 1930. Stan grew up on the family farm in Ralston and attended Powell schools. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War and was honorably discharged. His life’s career was driving truck for Jim Averett, Caribou Four Corners, Lovell Clay Products and many years of service for Dick Jones Trucking. He was awarded the "1995 Truck Driver Of The Year" for the State of Wyoming. He loved fishing and spending time with his family. His wife, Ruth Allred House, who died in the summer of 1974, preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were his father, Oscar William House; and his sisters Peggy Allen and Linda House. He is survived by his mother, Elna Tilda House of Cody; brothers, Dean and Helen House of Chino, Ariz; his children, Joyce House Duvall and Phil Duvall of Sheridan, Jim House also of Sheridan, and John House and Teresa House of Tekoa, Wash.; Stepsons, Chris Finkle and Wendy of San Diego, Calif. and Tim Finkle of San Diego and Great Lakes Ill.; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 18, 2004, in the LDS Stake Center in Lovell. Interment followed in the Lovell Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the Hospice of Salt Lack City V.A. Medical Center, 500 Foothill Boulevard, Salt Lake City, Utah, 84148.
