Donna L. Evans
WORLAND — Donna L. Evans, 71, died on Dec. 31, 2005 at the Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital in Thermopolis.
She was born on Feb. 25, 1934 in Casper, a daughter of Samuel F.
and Helen C. (Collver) Burtch. She grew up on the Burtch Ranch southwest of Casper.
The family moved to Riverton in 1944 where she received her education and met Thomas Evans in the sixth grade. They where married on August 17, 1950 in
Randolph, Utah. They made their home in Casper and Riverton where Mr. Evans worked in construction.
During this time, Donna took in girls from the wayward home for girls in Riverton and raised her children.
In 1970, they purchased a supper club in Glenrock which they ran until 1985. They moved to Alaska and then to Seattle, Wash. where they worked together in construction. In 1988, they came to Worland and made their home here until the time of Donna’s death.
Donna loved the outdoors, especially camping with family and spending time in her flower garden. She was a professional seamstress making wedding dresses, outfits for school plays, cheerleading outfits and children’s clothes.
She loved working crossword puzzles, crocheting and knitting. Even in the last few years, she could be found in the mountain, riding ATV’s. She traveled the state competing in Bowling Tournaments.
She was a life member of the Elks and Eagles Lodge, a member of the Jaycee’s and the Relief Society in Riverton.
Donna is preceded in death by her parents and son, Curtis, in March of 2005.
She is survived by her husband Thomas of Worland, daughters; Janeen (Mike) King and Karla (Doug) Lockwood of Worland, sons; Wayne (Kim) Evans of Wasilla, Alaska and Sam (Lynda) Evans of Glenrock, sisters; Joan White of Rock Springs and Barbie (Frank) Applehans of Riverton, 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held today, Jan. 3, 2006 10 a.m. at the New Life Christian Center with Larry Ramsfield officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Worland.
Visitation for family and friends will be on Tuesday at the church from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Bryant Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Dorothy “Dot” Pierson
TEN SLEEP — Dorothy “Dot” Pierson, 82, of Ten Sleep, died on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2005 at the home of her daughter.
Dot was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one daughter: Susan McMahan; Sisters: Louise Early, Jo West, Sandra Stewart; Brothers: Jimmy Hayes, Luther Hayes Jr., Billy Hayes, and Neil Hayes.
She is survived by her daughter Janet (Buddy) Washington of Ten Sleep; son Jimmy (Patricia) Pierson of Leesburg, Fla.; Brothers: Forrest (Moni) Hayes of Anchorage, Alaska, Taylor (Tempe) Hayes of Fayetteville, N.C., Jack (Pat) Hayes of Birmingham, Ala.; Sisters: Patsy (Earl) Hendricks of Amherst, Ohio, Martha Brown of Charlotte, N.C.; Grandchildren: Jan & Shannon Pierson, Wendy Washington, Amy Scarborough, Holly Weber, Kirk Washington; Great-grandchildren: Rhiannon, Raven, Kayleigh, Alexandria, Tyler, Madisynn, and Ashlyn.
Memorial services will be held on 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 5, 2006 at the Ten Sleep United Methodist Church with Reverend Grover Briggs officiating.

Frank R. Thiel
GLENWOOD, Minn. — Frank R. Thiel, 70, of Glenwood, Minn., died Tuesday, Dec. 27, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Cancer Home in St. Paul, Minn., surrounded by family and friends.
He was born Nov. 4, 1935, in Worland, to Fred and Molly (Piel) Thiel. He grew up and spent many years in Worland and was honorably discharged from the Air Force in January, 1957, after serving four years. After living the majority of his life in Wyoming, Frank moved to Portland, Ore., and then later to Glenwood, Minn., to be closer to his children. Frank (aka Chester), was always eager to help; and his love, generosity, and patience will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and brother Wayne.
He is survived by his daughters, Rachael (Trevor) Thomas, South St. Paul, Minn.; Kathie (Scott) McKay, Hawley, Minn; and sons Frank (Denise) Schweighart, Cumby, Texas; and Fred Schweighart, Cherry Valley, Ark. He was also blessed with many grandchildren: Melissa and Zachary McKay, and Abigail, Timothy, Daniel, Micah and Asher Thomas, who enjoyed the company of their grandpa very much. He is also survived by his sister Betty (Lloyd) Dahnke, Boulder, Colo.; and brothers Dave (Betty) Thiel of Casper, Tom (Lounell) Thiel of Worland, and Mike (Marlene) Thiel of Powell.
Private services and burial of cremains will be in Worland at a later date.

Edna Lopp
BASIN — Edna Lopp, 89, died on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005 at the Worland Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Worland after a long period of declining health.
She will be buried along with her husband, Wayne C. Lopp, who preceded her in death on July 24, 2001 and was cremated, in the Mount View Cemetery in Basin.
Edna was born on Jan. 2, 1916 in Hickory County, Miss. to Elijah and Lucy Bray. She married Wayne in Hickory County on Nov. 7, 1934. Edna and her family moved to the area in 1936 where they began farming and then, later, Wayne went into the construction business.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her two sons, Bruce Wayne Lopp of Worland and Billy Warren Lopp of West Yellowstone, Mont.; five grandchildren, Craig Lopp of West Yellowstone, Mont., Jennie Lopp of Meeker, Colo., Jerry Talbott of Palisades, Colo., Rory Talbott of Cook, Wash., and Susan Kanaly of Seattle, Wash.; five great-grandchildren, Kylar and Keysha Perez and Chase, Dalton and Heather Talbott.
A graveside funeral service for Edna will be held on Thursday, Jan. 5, 11:00a.m., at the Mount View Cemetery, Basin, with Reverend Al Gebauer performing the service. Burial will immediately follow after the services at Mount View Cemetery.

Justin Moses
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Justin Moses, 78, formerly of Ten Sleep died in Sacramento, Calif., Dec. 22, 2005.
He was born to Millard Fillmore and Fae (Caines) Moses. Dec. 6, 1927. He graduated from Ten Sleep High School (valedictorian) in 1945.
He joined the U.S. Army and was sent to Ft. Belvoir, Va., then, to Germany with the Army Intelligence Corps.
After his discharge from the Army, he attended and graduated from the University of Wyoming with a B.S. in Geological Engineering (1952). While at Laramie, Justin met and married Lynn Barton Davis of New York City, Aug. 1952. The couple had one child, Sean Daniel True, currently of Boston, Mass., and were divorced. He was employed thereafter by the Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) and spent two years in Peru in the Andes Mountains. In Lima, Peru, he met and married his second wife, Marian. He worked for the AEC until the commission was dissolved. He then became a member of the Army Corps of Engineers in Sacramento and was Chief of two divisions simultaneously. One of his assignments was being the head engineer on the New Melones Dam in California. He has resided in Sacramento since 1963.
He is survived by his sister, Faye Virginia Bell of Salt Lake City, Utah; his son, Sean, of Boston; his step-daughter, Liz Ginsberg of Gold River, Calif.; numerous nieces and nephews, all who have tremendous respect and appreciation for his character and accomplishments.
Pauline Marie Hereford
WORLAND -- Pauline Marie Hereford, 54, of Worland, died at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper Dec. 20, 2005.
Remembrance services will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Worland with Pastor Grover Briggs officiating. Cremation has taken place.

David Lloyd Kost
BASIN — David Lloyd Kost, 73, died suddenly Saturday, Dec. 31, at his property near Basin while taking care of chores.
Dave was born on Oct. 15, 1932 in Bellflower, Calif. to Ned and Helen Kost, Sr.
Dave married the love of his life, Ardeth (Ardie), on June 4, 1953 in the home of Don Morris in Basin.
Dave loved growing plants and working with animals and spent most of his life farming in the Basin/Casper area while spending the 60’s farming in Southern California. Dave loved his garden, giving freely to friends and neighbors of it’s bounty. His dogs, chickens and cat were treated like family and will miss him also. Dave never met a stranger, and he touched many lives wherever he went. When Dave quit farming, he, his wife and son, Dan, opened 4K Greenhouse located near Basin. He grew vegetable seedlings and flowers which were known for their vigor and beauty.
Dave served in the Air Force during the Korean War flying 38 bombing missions as a gunner over Korea.
Dave was a member of the First Baptist Church in Basin. Dave loved his children and was very proud of each of them.
Dave is survived by his wife, Ardie; three sons, Joe (Nancy) Kost of Canon City, Colo., Dan (Karen) Kost of Basin and Ken Kost of Sheridan; and two daughters, Julie (Glenn) Rhoades of Hammond, La. and Mary (Al) Sanvold of Belgrade, Mont; brother Ned Kost Jr. of Basin; sister Judy (Leo) Luettjohann of Crookston, Minn; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2006 at 10 a.m. in the First Baptist Church in Basin with Pastor Kent Dempsey officiating. A dinner will be held in the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall immediately following the services.
Donations can be made at Security State Bank, P.O. Box 531, Basin, WY 82410, for the First Baptist Church of Basin memorial fund.
Donald P. “Red” Fisher
GREYBULL — Donald P. “Red” Fisher, 71, passed away at his home in Greybull on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2005. Cremation has taken place.
Red was born on Sept. 12, 1934 in Kansas City, Mo., the son of Donald P. and Betty Fisher. He moved to the Greybull area in 1971.
He served in the United States Marine Corps Special Forces in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was honorably discharged from the service after serving his country with pride and dignity.
Red began his working career in Greybull at the Dresser Bentonite Plant and then went to work for the Burlington Northern Railroad, retiring from the railroad in the mid-1990s.
Red’s hobbies included collecting firearms and weapons, art, antiques and Indian artifacts. He also loved hot rods and motorcycles, riding in the poker runs, and playing pool.
He had many friends and helped anyone he had a chance to help. He lived life to the fullest each day as tomorrow may never come.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #3086, and attended several churches in the area, but mainly the First Baptist Church in Basin.
Red is preceded in death by his parents and siblings. He is survived by a daughter, Michelle Wilson of Greybull; 4 step-daughters, Denise Bond and Nancy Sampson of Sheridan, Tammy Barber of Mo., and Gena Plooster of S.D.; two step-sons, Joe Bales of Sheridan and Everett Bond of Greybull; 16 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and his extended family, Alan Keeler of Sheridan and Dale and Jennifer Jones of Ralston, who Red considered his children.
Memorial funeral services for Donald will be held on Saturday, Jan. 14 at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Basin with Reverend Kent Dempsey officiating. Immediately following the services a reception for family and friends will be held at the Stockman’s Banquet Room in Basin.
Memorials may be made in Red’s memory to a charity of choice or to a memorial fund that has been established at the Big Horn Federal Savings Bank, P.O. Box 471, Greybull, WY 82426.

Timothy Claude Headlee
SANTA ROSA, Calif. — Timothy Claude Headlee, 59, died Dec. 30, 2005 in Santa Rosa, Calif. of cancer.
Tim grew up in Worland, graduated from Worland High School in 1964, and later lived in Evanston and Laramie.
For the past twelve years, Tim lived near Bodega, Calif. Tim arranged donation of his body to the University of California-San Francisco Medical School. Because of the nature of the donation, no funeral will occur.
There will be a memorial service for Tim in mid-May. The memorial will take place on the Welling Sheep Ranch, where he lived.
Tim is survived by his wife Diana and older brother Jim of Richmond, Calif., Rick of Occidental, Calif. and Heather of Sweetwater, Tenn.
June Elizabeth Sell
BURLINGTON — June Elizabeth Sell, 48, died on Jan. 29, 2006 after a courageous fight with cancer at St. Vincent HealthCare Hospital, Billings, Mont.
She was born on June 4, 1957 at the South Big Horn County Hospital to Don and Gay (Black) Schlenker. She grew up on the family farm where she loved to drive grain trucks and ride horses. After graduating from Burlington High School in 1975, she went to Northwest Community College in Powell and graduated with a business degree in 1977.
On Oct. 15, 1977 she bought Woody’s store in Burlington and slowly made it a success. Today it is known as “Country Cash and Save.”
June was a people person and loved everyone young and old. Community members frequently popped into the store to have lunch and to visit. With her bubbly personality, she enjoyed lending an ear and helping everyone with their troubles and their problems, no matter how hard, or what it took.
More than just giving advice, June always wanted to help by donating to the community, especially to the youth. She was excited to help the kids in the community. It made her feel great.
One of her favorite pastimes included playing cards and winning every time, especially against her nieces and nephews.
June’s sweetheart, Alan, came into the store and her life on Sept. 2, 1989, they were married in Emblem. By Dec. 9, 1990 they welcomed their beautiful daughter, Stoni Elizabeth, to their family. Stoni was June’s pride and joy. June also loved running the store with her mother and Stoni by her side. June will be greatly missed and will remain in our hearts forever.
June was preceded in death by her father, Donald Schlenker, and her sisters, Debbie, Carol and Sherry Schlenker.
Survivors include her husband, Alan, daughter, Stoni, mother, Gay Schlenker and two brothers Bill (Jennie) Schlenker and Neil (Tammy) Schlenker all of the Burlington area; nieces and nephews, Mary Schlenker of North Platte, Neb. and David, Darbi and Richard (Tasha) Schlenker, and great-nephew, Cohen Schlenker, all of the Burlington area.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Feb. 2 2006, 10:30 a.m. in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Burlington. Burial will take place immediately following the services in the Meeteetse Cemetery in Meeteetse.
A viewing will be held in the Atwood Family Chapel in Basin on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2006 from 5 p.m. — 7 p.m. and on Thursday morning at the church one hour before the services from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at the Bank of Greybull, 601 Greybull Ave., Greybull, WY 82426, to go to the Burlington School Library to purchase books.

Dell Ray Edeler
GREYBULL — Dell Ray Edeler, 61, of Greybull, died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2006 at the Deaconess Billings Clinic from complications following a stroke.
Dell was born on Dec. 7, 1944 in Greybull, the son of Lloyd and Irene (Foster) Edeler. He graduated from Greybull High School in 1964 where he excelled in basketball and track. Dell attended Northwest Community College in Powell and was a member of the Wyoming National Guard.
In 1977, he married Marilyn Anderson in Princeton, Ill.
Dell worked for Burlington Northern Railroad for many years. Later, he and his family owned and operated Video Roundup in Greybull. He also ran heavy equipment and did some pipeline work. Most recently he operated a wild land firefighting business with his family.
Dell loved to hunt and fish. He took great pride in sharing this love, his knowledge and his favorite spots with his son and daughter. He could tell hunting stories for hours.
Dell is preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Irene, and by his brother, Vernon.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, his son, Dallas, both of Greybull and his daughter Cassidy (Kyle) Mac Williams of Central Point, Ore.; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2006, 1 p.m. at the Grace Fellowship Church located at 3575 Greybull River Rd., Greybull with Reverend Michael McMillan officiating. Burial will follow the services in the family plot at Whaley Cemetery near Shell.
A viewing will be held in the Atwood Family Chapel at 620 Greybull Ave., Greybull on Monday, Jan. 30, 2006 from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m.
