Della Jordan Nance
Private services were held Sept. 30 in Douglas for Della Gertrude Richardson Jordan Nance.
Mrs. Nance died Sept. 21, 2006.
She was born
Aug. 20, 1915, in Keeline, the youngest of nine children of Robert and
Sada Richardson.
Mrs. Nance was a life-long resident of Douglas, where she married
JR “Curly” Jordan
in 1932 and had four children all born
and raised in Douglas. They were Jack Gaylord
of Aurora, Colo.; Hubert Dean of Douglas; Ruby Darlene Gillett of Nampa, Idaho; and
the late Howard David.
Mrs. Nance married
Ward Nance in 1951 and lived in Escondido, Calif., Colorado
Springs, Colo., and Scottsbluff, Neb., before moving back to Douglas in 1968.
Mrs. Nance and her husband had one daughter Carol Dawn.
She is survived by her husband; sister Pearl Edwards of Casper; four of her five
children; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren;
and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as several adoptive family members of
Casper, Gillette and Esterbrook.
Mrs. Nance was preceded in death by both parents, three brothers, four sisters,
Curly Jordan, son Howard David Jordan, grandson Michael Jordan and great-grandson
Josh Panowicz.
Interment was in Douglas Park Cemetery, where she was buried next to her son.
Margaret Thurston-Beach
1920-2009
Funeral services for Margaret A. Thurston-Beach, 88, were held April 3 at
Congregational United Church of Christ in Douglas with Rev. Carol A. Prochaska
officiating.
Interment was in Douglas Park Cemetery.
Margaret Thurston-Beach died March 25, 2009, at Hospice of Arizona –Plaza Del
Rio IPU in Peoria, Ariz.
She was born
Oct. 22, 1920, in Alto Pass, Ill., the youngest of nine children
to James William and Amanda (Hardin) Arnold. She was reared and educated in
Alto Pass and graduated from Alto Pass High School in 1936. She attended
business school in Terre Haute, Ind., for two years.
She worked all over the United States doing oil abstracting and came to
Douglas in 1950. She met Francis Irving “Frank” Thurston in Douglas, and they
were married
on Sept. 11, 1950, in Raton, N.M. They were married
for 51 years.
She owned and operated Converse Land Title for 25 years, retiring in 1986.
She was active in the Douglas community, serving on many boards including
the Planning and Zoning Commission, Douglas Community Club and Senior Citizens
Board, and was active with the Democratic Party. She was a member of the Zonta
Club, Zeta Master Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and Congregational United Church
of Christ for more than 50 years and served on many committees.
She enjoyed shopping for clothes, reading, cooking, crossword puzzles,
horseback riding, traveling, playing bridge and golfing.
She married
John Elwood Beach on Jan. 8, 2003, in Sun City, Ariz.
She is survived by her husband John E. Beach of Sun City; daughter
Connie (Tim) Colman and their sons, Jordan Colman (16) and Jacob Colman (13);
step-children John (Elaine), Grace, Janice, William (Peggy), Jan (Bruce) and
Dick (Shirley); sisters-in-law Benji (Bill) Elder and Bernice (Tony) Armetta;
“sister-cousin” Dorothe Willey; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Frank Thurston on Oct. 20,
2001; seven sisters; and one brother.
Serving as pallbearers were Jordan Colman, Jacob Colman, Mike Perrotti,
William Beach, Don Criner and Tim Ricker.

Edward ‘Eddie’ Moore
1926-2011
Funeral services for Edward Douglas “Eddie” Moore, 85, will be held at 2 p.m.
Monday, May 30, 2011 at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Douglas,
with Pastor Joe Bair officiating. Interment will be in the family plot at the
Douglas Park Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Samuel Mares American
Legion Post #8 and Wyoming Army National Guard Military Funeral Honors.
Roy Moore
1960-2012
Roy Moore, 51, of Douglas passed away June 9, 2012, at Hospice in Casper
surrounded by family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 13, at 2 p.m. at the Niobrara
County Fairgrounds Auditorium in Lusk, with Gary Walker officiating. Interment
will be at the Lusk Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be his nephews DJ Heine, Nathan Heine, Scott Reef, Mat Moore
and Justin Lutz. Honorary pallbearers will be Ron Gonzales, friends at
Lonnie’s Pumping Service and Samson Resources, and many others, including
former classmates and friends.
Roy was born
Aug. 31, 1960, in Lusk to Eldon Moore and Rose (Wilkison) Moore
of Lance Creek. He was the second eldest son. He grew up on the Joss and
Cross A Ranches.
He started driving a water truck in Lance Creek at an early age, and he was
not old enough to get a driver’s license. Roy spent several years working
construction. Roy left construction and started pumping wells. At the time
of his death, Roy was pumping for Samson Resources out of Douglas.
Roy enjoyed elk hunting and fishing, spending many a year on Bacon Ridge at
Dubois with his brothers and uncles. Roy was an amazing man; he was always
available to lend a helping hand no matter the circumstance. He always got
a big grin from the hugs from his nieces and nephews. Roy had seen every
western movie he could many times over, and you could always catch up on
what Little Joe and Hoss had been doing.
His survivors include siblings Kay Jacob and husband Jeff of Crawford,
Neb., Tammie Reef and husband Randy of Worland, Dennis Moore of Lance Creek,
Donna Lutz and husband Don of Mohnton, Penn.; sister-in-law Joni Moore from
Douglas; nieces and nephews DJ and wife Brooke, Mindy and husband Glen,
Nathan, Scotty, Michelle and husband Sam, Matt, Michael, Trish,
Samantha Lutz, Justin, Jenna, Hanna and Dennis; several great-
nieces and great-nephews, including Hayden, Landon, Payton, Randal,
Makenzi, Makayla, Addison, Laura, Madison, Destiny, Damian and Dillon.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, and brother
Ronnie Moore.

Jason Paul Olbricht
1981-2012
A funeral service for Jason Paul Olbricht, 30, will be held at 11 a.m.,
March 3 at the United Methodist Church in Crawford, Neb., with Pastor
George Kilmer officiating.
Jason Olbricht, a resident of Douglas, died Monday, Feb. 20, 2012, near
Lusk, Wyoming due to injuries received in an automobile accident.
Jason was born
May 27, 1981, in Crawford, the son of Douglas Allen and
Rowena R. (Waterman) Olbricht.
He was raised and educated in Crawford and Douglas.
He received his GED in Alliance, Neb.
He held a CNA license in Nebraska, and worked at the Ponderosa Village
in Crawford.
He returned to Douglas and worked as a cook at the Village Inn.
At the time of his death he was the cook at Orin Junction.
Jason enjoyed fishing, trap shooting, and his video games.
He loved animals, was a creative writer, and always had a smile.
Jason always had a generous hug and “I love you” for family and friends.
He is survived by his parents, Doug and Rowena Olbricht, of Douglas;
step-sister, Crystal of North Platte, Neb.; and paternal grandfather,
Frank Olbricht of Crawford.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Travis Olbricht, on Aug 6, 1997;
maternal grandparents, Patricia and Dale Gillming; paternal grandmother,
Charlotte Olbricht; and uncle, Mike Olbricht.
A memorial to the United Methodist Church, 238 Elm Street, Crawford, NE 69339

John Ray Duran
1965-2011
John Ray Duran, of Douglas and more recently of Casper, died Nov. 14, 2011, at
Central Wyoming Hospice in Casper following a lengthy illness.
Services have been scheduled for 10 a.m. Nov. 30 at United Methodist Church in
Douglas.
John was born
April 5, 1965, to Genevieve Duran and Andy Mestas in Douglas.
He is survived by sisters Eva Duran (Mike) Lantz of Casper and Teri (Ronnie) Young
of Buffalo, Texas; brother Steve Duran of Douglas; brothers-in-law Gilbert Casias
of Casper and Robert Hall of Buffalo, Texas; ex-wife and best friend Pat Kaster
of Douglas; five step-children who he considered his own; 13 step-grandchildren;
two step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his grandparents.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father; brothers Louie, Frank and
James Duran; sister Ida Duran Casias; and step-grandson Kenneth J. Fellon Jr.
