FLORA ‘BEA’ PAUL
Flora “Bea” Elizabeth (Waters) Paul, 96, died on May 11, 2006, in Yuma, Ariz.
She was born in Imperial, Calif., on Feb. 18, 1910, to Fred V. Waters and Millie Gerig Waters of Bieber, Calif.
She and her parents moved to a ranch east of Glendo on the Platte River to raise hereford cattle in 1910. She remembered fording the river before a bridge was built to reach their new home.
She helped her mother raise her four brothers, Robert, Louis, Alfred or “Brownie” and Albert or “Coop”, and a sister Laura May, who died at age 2. All siblings preceded Mrs. Paul in death.
She graduated from Glendo High School in 1926 and attended the University of Nebraska to major in music. Her close friends in Glendo were Stella (Woody) Martindale and Grace (Barkdoll) Waters, who married her brother Robert.
Due to the Depression, she returned to Imperial Valley to live with her grandmother. She attended business school in El Centro.
She married Herbert E.Paul, who was with the Texaco Oil Co. for 37 years. His affiliation with Texaco took them all over the West Coast. She is survived by daughters Barbara Leochner (Larry) of Yuma and Millie Paul Morley (John) of La Canada Flintridge, Calif.; grandson Paul M. Smith (Arah); and great-grandchildren Megan and Ryan M. Smith of Mission Viejo, Calif.
She enjoyed being a homemaker, and her passion later in life was interpreting the book of Genesis. She authored three books: Bible Names: A Key to Ancient Teachings, Books 1 and 2, published in 1986 and Secrets of the Light: My Search for Revelation, published in 2001 by the Writers Club Press.
She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

MARLEECE FRERICKS
Funeral liturgy for Marleece M. Frericks, 65, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Saint James Catholic Church in Douglas, with Fr. John Savio as celebrant.
Interment will be in Douglas Park Cemetery. Mrs. Frericks died June 9, 2006, at her home in Douglas. She was born Oct. 19, 1940, in Melrose, Wis., to Robert and Mae Hoyer)
Kastenschmidt. She was reared and educated in Wisconsin, graduating from the Rosendale High School in Rosendale, Wis.
She married Denis Robert Frericks on June 9, 1973, in Illinois. They resided in Rosendale until 1976 when they moved their family to Wyoming. In 1994 they moved to Douglas, where she resided until the time of her death. She was a member of Saint James Catholic Church and was a volunteer at Memorial Hospital of Converse County.
She enjoyed singing with the church choir, playing golf, traveling and camping in the mountains. She worked at the Wyoming State Fair, sang every Thursday at the Douglas Senior Citizens Center, and went to coffee with family and friends.
She is survived by her father, Robert Kastenschmidt, of Rosendale; daughters Melinda and husband Jeffrey Stenersen of Fond du Lac, Wis., Teresa and husband Mike Cullum of Oshkosh, Wis., Holly and husband Steve Ivers of Craig, Colo., and Nicole and husband David Churchwell of Holyoke, Colo.; sons Vern Hansen of Fond du Lac, Jay Frericks of Rock Springs, and Jason and wife Jackie Frericks of Rock Springs; sisters Lucinda Stanfield of Hugo, Okla., Carlene Brown of Festus, Mo., Jolene Fuchs of Fond du Lac, and Leatrice Cronk of Lowell, Ark.; brothers Marlin Kastenschmidt of Rhinelander, Wis., Leonard Kastenschmidt of Honor, Mich., and Gordon Kastenschmidt of Casper; 16 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mae Kastenschmidt; husband Denis on Nov. 2, 2004; and daughter Dennelle Frericks.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Cullum, John Hansen, David Churchwell, Craig Gallaher, Matthew Cullum and Steve Ivers. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Cody Frericks, Brentten Ivers, Casey Hansen, Brogan Frericks, Brent Hansen and Zachary Churchwell.
Family and friends may call at the funeral home in Douglas on Wednesday from 1-7 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon.
A memorial to the Saint James Catholic Church Choir, P.O. Box 1500, Douglas 82633, or to North Platte Home Health and Hospice, 300 South Fourth Street, Suite 100, Douglas, would be appreciated by the family. Gorman Funeral Homes – Converse Chapel of Douglas is in charge of the arrangements.

ZULA M. FERGUSON
Zula M. Ferguson, 94, died Thursday, June 22, 2006, at Michael Manor Nursing Home in Douglas.
A prayer service was held Friday afternoon at Gorman Funeral Home. Mrs. Ferguson was born Aug. 20, 1911, in Oblong, Ill. to Howard and Edna Turnipseed. She attended her schooling in Oblong.
She married and moved to Newton, Ill. and lived there for 30 years. After the passing of her husband, Zula moved in with her daughter and family who resided in Tuscon, Ariz., and from there they moved to Douglas in 1977.
Survivors include daughter and husband Joan and Jim Drinnon of Douglas; granddaughter Jamie Meier of Dallas; grandsons Andrew and Zachery Meier of Dallas; sister Sylvia Boyd of Mcallan, Texas and brother Harold Turnipseed of Marion, Indiana and several nieces and nephews. Gorman Funeral Homes is in charge of the arrangements. Burial was in Oblong, Ill.

MARSHALL FREDERICK DEIMER
Funeral services for Marshall Frederick Deimer, 92, will be held at 10 a.m. this Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Lander with Pastor Tim Ricker officiating. Interment will be held at Douglas Park Cemetery.
Mr. Deimer died July 1 at the Douglas Care Center.
A memorial to the Douglas Senior Citizens Center, P.O. box 192, Douglas, Wyo. 82633 or to the Community Baptist Church, 19th and Macon, Aurora, Colo. 80010 would be appreciated by the family.

RUTH ELLAMAE HARDESTY
Grave side services and interment for Ruth Ellamae Hardesty, 84, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Douglas Park Cemetery in Douglas. Mrs. Hardesty, a resident of Douglas, died July 2 at the emergency room at the Memorial Hospital of Converse County.
A memorial to the Douglas Senior Citizens Center, P.O. Box 192, Douglas 82633 would be appreciated by the family.

VIRGINIA LAYMAN LOYD
Funeral services for Virginia Layman Loyd, 68. were held July 3 at Congregational United Church of Christ in Douglas. Interment was in the Douglas Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Loyd, a former resident of Douglas, died Saturday, June 24, in Cheyenne. Gorman Funeral Homes-Converse Chapel of Douglas was in charge of the arrangements.

SHEILA MAE KINNER
Funeral services for Sheila Mae Kinner, 68, will be held at 11 a.m. July 8 at Gorman Funeral Homes – Converse Chapel in Douglas. Pastor Michael Dennis of Christian Church in Gillette will officiate.
Inurnment will be in the Spring Valley Cemetery near Greenland, Douglas County, Colo.
She died Monday June 26, 2006, at Wyoming Medical Center due to cancer. Mrs. Kinner was born Sept. 18, 1937, in Two Buttes, Colo., to John D. Franklin and Bertha Beatrice (Adams) Kilpatrick. She was reared and educated in Colorado, and graduated from high school. She was a homemaker first. She loved music and encouraged her children to learn to play and sing.
Mrs. Kinner took care of many children in her home, when her own were younger. She then worked for a number of years as a dental assistant. In 1977, Mrs. Kinner opened a fabric store and sold sewing machines, running this business until her death. A favorite pastime was camping with her family and friends, spending as much as two weeks each summer in the Big Horn Mountains.
Mrs. Kinner spent many years as a Girl Scout leader in Gillette, and Camp Director at the Story youth camp. She loved sewing and often sewed matching dresses for the girls for Easter and other holidays. She made quilts, and each grandson got a quilt for graduation, and the granddaughters got a sewing machine.
The granddaughters spent part of their summers at Grandma’s house learning to sew. Mrs. Kinner always encouraged her children and others to do their very best and was okay with their best, but pushed them to do a little better until their true best was accomplished. She truly loved her children and would do anything for them. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 32 in Glenrock.
Mrs. Kinner is survived by her husband, Jerry Kinner, of Douglas; children Cheryl K. Benedict and husband Richard of Gillette, Pamela S. Kinner of Denver, Lori A. Boeding and husband Walter of Gillette, Daniel L. Kinner and wife, JanNell of Gillette, and Scott A. Kinner of Gillette; siblings Ira L. Kilpatrick and wife Anne of Poulsbo, Wash., and Juanita J. Aldridge of Longmont, Colo.; sisters-in-law Alice Kilpatrick of Mesa, Ariz., Elba Kilpatrick of Mount Dora, Fla., and Martha Wisner and husband Roy of California; nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial to the American Cancer Society in care of Converse County Bank, P.O. Box 689, Douglas 82633, would be appreciated by the family. Gorman Funeral Homes – Converse Chapel of Douglas is in charge of the arrangements.
