Eileen Pond - 10/22/03
Funeral services for Eileen Sue Pond, 54, of Gillette will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Jericho Baptist Church in Gillette with the Rev. Dale Russell officiating.
Burial will follow at Mount Pisgah Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel.
Mrs. Pond died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003, at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper after a long illness with kidney disease.
She was born Feb. 9, 1949, at Fort Riley, Kan., to Paul and Pauline (Hendricks) Adams. She grew up in a military family, where moving around was common. At the age of 9, she and her family settled in El Paso, Texas, where she attended Irvin High School.
On Dec. 11, 1970, she married Steven Pond at the Sun Valley Baptist Temple in El Paso. In 1972 they moved to Yerington, Nev. They worked and lived in Nevada until their retirement. They moved to Gillette in 1979.
Mrs. Pond enjoyed crafts, especially knitting and crocheting. She and her husband participated in the Bus Ministry, hauling children to and from church. She was especially fond of the kids and they affectionately referred to her as "grandma." She had a special place in her heart for her dogs and cats, whom she loved very much.
Mrs. Pond is survived by her husband of Gillette; her mother, Pauline Asch of El Paso; one brother, John Q. Adams, also of El Paso; one sister, Alice Adams of Dallas, Texas; two nieces; and one great-nephew.
She was preceded in death by her father.
A memorial has been established to the Jericho Baptist Church of Gillette.

Jean Patterson - 10/22/03
Graveside services for former Gillette resident Jean Joan Patterson, 60, will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Mount Pisgah Cemetery with the Rev. Joel Wright officiating.
She died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003, at her home in Arizona City, Ariz., of natural causes.
She was born Aug. 27, 1943, to Lena and Paul Patterson in Gillette.
She was a member of the Preceplor Alpha Mu sorority for 23 years and she was a member of Beta Sigma Phi-Laureate Beta Zeta. She enjoyed reading, shopping and spending time with her grandchildren.
Mrs. Patterson is survived by two sons, Scott Hetrick of Lacey, Wash., and Jerry Hetrick of Albuquerque; two daughters, Dianne Kogan of Tucson, Ariz., and Joanne Warren of Port Orchard, Wash.; a brother, Jerry Patterson of Huntville, Utah; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Judith Wall.
Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.
Margaret Henderson - 10/23/03
Services for Margaret Rose Henderson, 44, of Campbell County will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Amelia Hagen of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church officiating.
Burial will follow in Mount Pisgah Cemetery.
Mrs. Henderson died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2003, at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home of cancer.
Her hobbies were drawing, doing crossword puzzles, and going to town and drinking coffee with her friends. She loved teddy bears and giving hugs. Her favorite teddy bear was Bearbear, who has been with her for many years, and is with her today.
She loved cats and really liked elderly people. She also liked to cook and was an excellent housekeeper. She never also never missed an episode of the "Golden Girls." She especially enjoyed spending time with her special friend of 17 years, Leroy Weston of Gillette.
Mrs. Henderson is survived by one sister, Cynthia Williams of Mount Home, Idaho.

Bayard Huber - 10/24/03
Funeral services for Bayard Junior Huber, 70, of Newcastle, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Newcastle with the Rev. Norm Brotzman officiating.
Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 today at Worden Chapel in Newcastle.
Mr. Huber died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2003, at Weston County Health Services in Newcastle.
He was born Nov. 23, 1932, in Newcastle to Bayard William and Ada V. (Cullum) Huber. He was raised north of Gillette in the Spotted Horse area of Campbell County.
He was a Korean conflict veteran.
Mr. Huber is survived by his wife, Kathy, of Newcastle; three daughters, Denise Thompson of Upton, Susan Williams and Tammy Wright, both of Newcastle; one brother, Jack Huber; two sisters, Helen Kaiser and Betty Cowles of Newcastle; and seven grandchildren, all of Newcastle.
A memorial has been established.

Melvin Clark
Funeral services for Melvin Don Clark, 87, of Gillette will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003, at Mount Pisgah Cemetery Shelter in Gillette with Pastor David Berger of the Bethlehem Community Church officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27, 2003, at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home of Gillette.
He died on Thursday, Oct. 23, 2003, at Pioneer Manor in Gillette of natural causes.
Mr. Clark was born on April 26, 1916, to Robert Allen and Alice Edna (Morris) Clark in O'Neill, Neb. At the age of 6 months, he moved with his family to a homestead southeast of Gillette. He attended rural schools until high school and completed his education while boarding in Gillette.
As a teenager, he was a junior taxidermist, practicing his art on deer, antelope and small animals. In 1935, he married Ethel Hoxsie and in 1937, they moved three miles west of the homestead and started their own ranch. He and Ethel supplemented their income by selling dairy products and chickens. They ranched together until 1974, when they retired and moved to Gillette.
Mr. Clark enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved going back to the ranch and visiting. He shared great stories of his life, passing on treasured memories to his loved ones. He appreciated the variety of dining out, which he did frequently all around town. He also enjoyed visiting at the Senior Center, where he had many friends.
Mr. Clark is survived by a daughter, Betty (John) McGee of Gillette; a son, Allen (Elvira) Clark of Rozet; two nieces; eight grandchildren, Dan McGee, Tom McGee, Lonny McGee, Diana Murphy, Dean Clark, Daryle Clark, Stephany Clark-Urb and Angelo Clark; fifteen grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ethel, in 2003; a son, Glen, in 1992; and a brother, Morris.
A memorial has been established to benefit the Campbell County Senior Center or the Heptner Oncology Unit at Campbell County Memorial Hospital.
