Agnes C. Casteel
1916 - 2006
Agnes C. Casteel, 89, of Cheyenne died Dec. 11 at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 31, 1916, in Conroy and had lived here for five years.
Before moving here, Mrs. Casteel had lived in Gillette for eight years and from 1949 until 1990 in Green River.
Mrs. Casteel had worked as a sales clerk for the Tomahawk Pharmacy and Green River Mercantile in Green River and was a member of the Episcopal Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Gladys Hunhoff of Cheyenne; one son, James A. Casteel of Cheyenne; two brothers, John "Red" Lawson of Connecticut and Jim Lawson of California; two sisters, Miriam Seppie of Green River and Dorothy Angeloric of Thayne; two grandchildren; and one great - grandchild.
Mrs. Casteel was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Dale Casteel, whom she married March 18, 1949, in Green River; her parents, John and Jennie Lawson; two brothers; and three sisters.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Wiederspahn - Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes with the Rev. Robin Chance officiating.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Green River Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Wiederspahn - Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.
Barbara J. Dawson
1949 - 2006
Barbara Jean Dawson, 57, of Cheyenne, formerly of Clarksdale, Miss., died Nov. 29 in Denver.
She was born July 14, 1949, in Clarksdale. She had lived in Cheyenne since she was 3 years old.
Mrs. Dawson was retired.
She is survived by four children, Renee Williams, Carol Reed, Kenneth Potter and James Potter, all of Cheyenne; 11 grandchildren; seven great - grandchildren; and many cousins, nephews and nieces.
Mrs. Dawson was preceded in death by her parents, Grant and Ila Potter; and her siblings, Mack Johnson, Joe Johnson, Clarence Johnson, Willie Johnson, Romy Johnson, Minnie Binney, Ella Boyd and Lorraine Lyle.
Cremation was by Wiederspahn - Radomsky.
Memorial services will be 5 p.m. Thursday at Holy Temple with the Rev. Samuel Reed officiating.
Joseph E. Young
1945 - 2006
Joseph E. Young, 61, of Cheyenne died Dec. 6 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Cheyenne.
He was born Sept. 1, 1945, in Tampa, Fla.
Mr. Young had lived in Anchorage, Alaska, and Fairbanks, Alaska, as a U.S. Air Force dependent.
He attended high school in Denver and Aurora, Colo., after which he spent four years in the Air Force working on B - 52s in Minot, N.D.
After the Air Force he obtained his private pilot's license and used his G.I. bill to upgrade his pilot ratings, receiving licenses for instructor, commercial, multi - engine, instrument and instrument instructor.
Mr. Young attended Colorado State University.
He is survived by five brothers; two sisters; a stepmother, Carolyn Williams of Tampa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Young will be buried at Fort Logan Cemetery in Denver.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Schrader Funeral Home.
Wilson C. Lane
1914 - 2006
Wilson C. Lane, 92, of Cheyenne died Dec. 7 at Mountain Towers Healthcare in Cheyenne.
He was born Feb. 14, 1914, in Neward, Ark., and had lived in Cheyenne since 1955.
Mr. Lane was a paratrooper in the U.S. Army's 82nd Airborne during World War II.
He retired as the head custodian at Goins Elementary and Johnson Junior High.
Mr. Lane was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4343.
He is survived by a son, Marcus Lane of Cheyenne; a daughter, Velma Jean Messer of Austin, Texas; a sister, Montine Shaw of Henderson, Nev.; three grandchildren; and one great - grandchild.
Mr. Lane was preceded in death by his wife, Veda Lane, on Aug. 6, 1982; his parents, Napoleon B. and Myrtle Lane; two brothers; and one sister.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday at Wiederspahn - Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes with the Rev. Jon Laughlin officiating.
Interment will be in Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
Friends may contribute to the American Cancer Society.

Patricia K. Wilkins
1941 - 2006
Patricia K. Wilkins, 65, of Cheyenne died Dec. 15 at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.
She was born April 28, 1941, in Laramie. She was a graduate of Cheyenne High in 1959.
She married Donald L. Wilkins on May 29, 1959, at First Presbyterian Church in Cheyenne. The two lived in Cheyenne most of their lives, with the exception of three years in Lusk. Throughout 47 years of marriage, their closeness and devotion to each other was inspiring to many.
For their 25th anniversary, they spent a week in Hawaii, and for their 35th they went to Monte Ray, Calif.
Mrs. Wilkins retired from Mountain Bell where she worked as a manager for much of her working career. She also retired as office manager from Pronghorn Development in 2004.
She was a member of both Mensa and Business and Professional Women.
Ever an active, passionate and determined woman, her most recent personal accomplishment was fighting and surviving cancer. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who also had a special affection for all kinds of animals. She loved to ride horses - most notably a spry Arabian named Penny she trained to rear up and jump obstacles. She rescued various abused animals and always had a wide array of pets living at her home. She also loved riding four - wheelers and motorcycles.
Mrs. Wilkins often used her artistic and creative talents to enhance the lives of those around her. Among her favorite hobbies were gardening, knitting, traveling, reading, fishing and photography, and anyone who knew her quickly realized her passion for hummingbirds.
Throughout her life, Mrs. Wilkins led by example in her drive for excellence and she encouraged those around her to strive for the same. She brought her family even closer together through her recent illness and valiant fight.
She is survived by her husband, Don of Cheyenne; a son, Tim Wilkins and his wife, Colleen of Pine Bluffs; two daughters, Terry Hartz and her husband, Ron, and Tammy Wilkins, all of Cheyenne; and two sisters, Sue Brasel of Texas and Glenda Shinn of Cheyenne.
Mrs. Wilkins also is survived by six grandchildren, Kiah Wilkins, Kyle Wilkins, Benjamin Hartz, Ashley Hartz, Kenneth Joel Hardin and Joshua Hardin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Marion Shinn of Cheyenne.
A service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Wiederspahn - Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes with Pastor Dan DeBruyn officiating. Burial will follow at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
Honorary pallbearers are her grandchildren, Kyle Wilkins, Benjamin Hartz, Ashley Hartz, Kenneth Joel Hardin and Joshua Hardin.

Bonnie M. Elder
1950 - 2006
Bonnie Mae Elder, 56, of Cheyenne died Monday at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.
She was born June 17, 1950, in Clay Center, Kan., and had lived here for the past 36 years.
Mrs. Elder worked in data entry for Internal Medicine Group and was a member of Community of Christ Church and the Women's church group.
Bonnie loved baking, sewing and doing crafts.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Elder; her son, Rob Elder Jr.; four daughters, Michelle Dawson, Lucinda Dockins, Jennifer Sorell and Stephanie Dolence; 13 grandchildren; two great - grandchildren; her father, Harry Affleck; a brother, Jack Affleck; two sisters, Beverly Willcoxon and Shirley Bouley.
She was preceded in death by a son, Brian Nicholas and her mother, Irene Affleck.
Services are 10 a.m. Thursday at Wiederspahn - Radomsky Chapel with Evangelist Ron Hirst officiating.
Interment will be 10 a.m.Wednesday at Parallel Cemetery in Clifton, Kan.
