Dawn R. Kelley
1964 - 2006
Dawn René Kelley, 42, of Cheyenne died Sept. 14 at home with her family at her side after a long struggle with cancer.
She was born July 10, 1964, in Cheyenne and had lived here all of her life.
Dawn graduated from Cheyenne's East High in 1982. She earned an associate's degree at Tyler Junior College in Tyler, Texas. Returning to Cheyenne, her professional career included 14 years at Wyoming State Department of Criminal Investigation. Most recently, Dawn worked with the Boys & Girls Club of Cheyenne, where her efforts had a positive impact for hundreds of children in the community and allowed her to fulfill a dream of work that would truly make a difference.
Dawn was creative, energetic, gentle and kind - hearted. She loved butterflies and enjoyed planting flowers and caring for her landscape. Dawn will be missed especially for her sense of humor, her inquisitive nature about people, her passions for music and for sharing time with friends and family.
Dawn is survived by her son, Jesse James Ellis; her mother, Linda Kelley; her father, Gary Kelley; her brothers, Matthew Kelley and David Kelley and his partner, Kimberly Garton; her grandparents, Maj. Aus. Ret. Carl and Marcia Wake; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; and her life - long friend, Rebecca Bayne.
The memorial service will be 3 p.m. Saturday at the Berean Church, 5716 Powderhouse Road.
Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens under the direction of Wiederspahn - Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.

Raymond E. Gallegos
1923 - 2006
Raymond E. Gallegos, 83, of Cheyenne died Sept. 15 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 20, 1923, in Ricardo, N.M., and had lived here since 1999 with prior residence in Lamar, Colo.
Raymond served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a prisoner of war, held at a camp in Merseburg, Germany. He was the plant manager for Chreaghe Packing in Lamar and a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree, and past Commander of the Lamar VFW.
Mr. Gallegos is survived by his wife, Rosie Gallegos of Cheyenne, whom he married April 12, 1947, in Raton, N.M.; two sons, Rudy Gallegos of Cheyenne and Robert Gallegos of Grand Junction, Colo.; a sister, Emelia Franco of Lamar; four grandchildren; five great - grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Teresa Gallegos; four brothers, Monico, Jack, Tony and Pete Gallegos; three sisters, Benny Abitia, Martha Kimball and Jenny Sanchez; and two grandchildren.
Vigil for the Deceased will be 7 p.m. today at Wiederspahn - Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.
Funeral Liturgy will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with the Rev. Tom Cronkleton as the celebrant.
Interment will follow at Olivet Cemetery.
Casket bearers are Curtis Burch, Scott Gallegos, Richard Jimenez Jr., Paul Jimenez Jr., James Abitia and Luis Robles. Honorary pallbearers will be Jess Ramirez, Albert Robles, Robert Jimenez Jr., Nick Sena Jr., Charles Sena, Pete Jimenez, Richard Kimbal, Andre Torres, Alvin Robles, and Rudy Herrera.
Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Honor Guard.
George M. Long
1929 - 2006
George M. Long, 77, of Cheyenne went home to be with our Heavenly Father on Sept. 19 in Cheyenne.
He was born April 28, 1929 in Nelson, Neb., the son of Tom and Hazel (Snyder) Long.
George attended school in Pine Bluffs, graduating in 1948. He enlisted in the United States Army and served in the Korean Conflict as a sergeant. He met his wife, Arlene "Neva" DeFreece, in Kimball, Neb. They were married in Kimball on Nov. 28, 1953.
They had four girls, Cynthia L., Kathleen S., Janet A., and Sandra K.
George was a line set operator for the newpapers in Kimball and Cheyenne, but his real passion was flying. He taught many individuals how to fly. He earned his pilots license before he earned his driver's license. One of his delights was taking his daughters for airplane rides.
He is survived by and loved dearly by his four daughters and son - in - laws, Brad and Cyndi Dreier of Cheyenne, Ted and Kathy Brown of Littleton, Colo., Mike and Janet Farrar of Cheyenne, and Michael and Sandy McInerney of Cheyenne; his grandchildren, Zachary Westlake of Breckenridge, Colo., Kasey Westlake of Cheyenne, Andrea and Nicholas Brown, both of Littleton, and Molly and Tyler Farrar, both of Cheyenne; two brothers, Thomas Lee Long of Kelso, Wash., and Dewey Long of Cheyenne; one sister, Patricia Shandera of Cheyenne; and his special friend and love, Peggy West of Kimball.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene "Neva" Long, on Dec. 5, 1977; his parents, Thomas and Hazel Long; and his sister, Donna Mae Schimmel.
Visitation will be from 12 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Thursday, at Wiederspahn - Radomsky Chapel.
Cremation will follow at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
Burial of his urn will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Pine Bluffs Cemetery.
A Celebration of His Life will be 2 p.m. Friday at Calvary Chapel with Pastor Tim Liddle officiating.

John P. Chocas
1924 - 2006
John P. Chocas, 82, of Cheyenne died Sept. 15 at United Medical Center - West.
He was born March 9, 1924, in Cheyenne.
Mr. Chocas served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II as a B - 17 Flying Fortess togglier and gunner.
He was a senior master sergeant for the Wyoming Air National Guard, where he applied his technical skills for more than 30 years before retiring in 1977.
Mr. Chocas was a member of Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, Masonic Lodge No. 11, Korein Shrine Center, Cheyenne Shrine Club and Cheyenne Optimist Club.
He is survived by two brothers, Jim Chocas of Cheyenne and Gust Chocas of Middleton, Wis.; a sister, Jennie Chocas of Cheyenne; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Nick Chocas, Tom Chocas, Alex Chocas and Bill Chocas; and two sisters, Doris Slife and Argie Markos.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church with the Father George Gartelos officiating.
Trisagion service will be at 6:30 p.m. today at Schrader Chapel.
Pallbearers will be Greg Chocas, Andy Markos, Zachary David, Steve Meares, Bill Sherman and Richard Moody.

Richard A. Patterson II
1925 - 2006
Richard Alexander "Dick" Patterson, II, 80, died Sept. 15 at Untied Medical Center - West in Cheyenne.
Mr. Patterson was born Nov. 29, 1925, in Miami Beach, Fla., the son of Richard A. and Louise (Stimson) Patterson.
He attended schools in Cheyenne and was drafted into the United States Army in the middle of his senior year in high school.
During World War II, Mr. Patterson served in the U.S. Army with the 526th Corp of Engineers. After being released from the service, he attended the University of Wyoming and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism. Most of his business life was devoted to sales.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter - day Saints in Cheyenne. He was also a member of Kiwanis Club of Cheyenne, Cheyenne Frontier Days Volunteer, Founding Patron of Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum, Heels, Mayor's Council for People with Disabilities, Governor's Council for Elimination of Architectural Barriers, Wyoming Easter Seal Society, Northern Wyoming Easter Seal Society, Wyoming Cystic Fibrosis Association, Magic City Enterprises, Future Business Leaders of America, Sweetwater County Mounted Sheriff's Posse, ROTC and Jaycees. On Dec. 13, 2005, Cheyenne Mayor Jack Spiker proclaimed the day as Richard "Dick" Patterson Day.
Dick loved music, photography, the outdoors and most of all he enjoyed life.
Mr. Patterson is survived by one son, Rick Patterson and his wife, Sandy of Firestone, Colo.; two daughters, Kim Mill and her husband, Bill of Cheyenne, and Donnica Jones of San Diego; one stepbrother, Paul Hallowell of Alameda, Calif.; three grandchildren; and two cousins.
The funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at the East Lincolnway Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter - day Saints with Bishop Michael Butterfield officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery.
Military honors will be provided by American Legion Honor Guard.

Dorothy L. Worth
1923 - 2006
Dorothy L. Worth, 83, of Cheyenne died Sept. 5 at United Medical Center - West.
She was born May 12, 1923 in Horton, Kan.
She was a clerk for the federal government.
She married Gerald Worth on March 28, 1942 in Manhattan, Kan.
Mrs. Worth was a member of First United Methodist Church, Women's Club, Methodist Women's Organization, VFW Auxiliary, Oddfellows Auxiliary, Rebekah's and Navy Mothers.
She is survived by three sons, Raymond Stanley Worth of Layton, Utah, Larry Gene Worth of Ft. Morgan, Colo., and Gary William Worth of Federal Heights, Colo.; a daughter, Sharon Lee Gilbert of Federal Heights; three sisters, Betty Hamilton of Las Vegas, Nev., Judy Nekuda of Manhattan, Kan., and Alice Chasman of Florida; four grandchildren and 12 great - grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Worth; parents, Joseph and Thelma Noel; and a brother, Donald E. Noel.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Aspen Wind Assisted Living Community, 4010 N. College Dr., with the Rev. Nadine Korhonen officiating.
