Helen M. Redder, 76, of Sheridan, WY, died Thursday, October 9, 2003 in Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County.
Mrs. Redder was born December 1, 1926 in Fairmont, Minnesota, to Paul and Katherine (Broich) Sommerfield. She grew up and attended schools in Worthington, MN, graduating from High School in Canby, MN in 1944. She enrolled in the Cadet Nursing program at St. Mary’s College in Minneapolis, MN.
She Married Vernon M. Redder on June 20, 1945 in Wilmont, MN. The couple lived in Sturgis, S.D. for 5 years, moving to Sheridan in 1956.
Mrs. Redder was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church and St. Francis Circle. She enjoyed sewing, playing Bridge and Cribbage, and spending much time with her family. She did social work for D-Pass, and did home- health care for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 2 brothers, 1 granddaughter, and 1 grandson.
Mrs. Redder is survived by 5 sons, Chuck, of Lengby, MN, Don, of Gillette, WY, Steve, of Sheridan, Bill, of Powell, WY, and Scott, of Ellsworth Air Force Base, Rapid City, S.D; 1 daughter, Carol Depew, of Sheridan; 2 sisters, Beverly Stassen, of Walnut Grove, MN, and Irene Rudolph, of North Branch, MN; 12 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.
Vigil Service for Mrs. Redder will be 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 15, 2003 at Champion Ferries Funeral Home with Father Ron Stolcis officiating. Funeral Liturgy will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, October 16, 2003 at Holy Name Catholic Church with Father Ron Stolcis as Celebrant. Burial will be in the Elk’s Section of the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.

Eugene Lewis Rutledge, 75, of Sheridan, passed away on Friday, October 10, 2003, at Sheridan Manor.
Mr. Eugene Rutledge was born June 29, 1928 in Dietz, Wyoming to Lloyd and Ann (Matejovitz) Rutledge. He married Mary Branson in 1991.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his sister, Wilma Jean; and his parents. Survivors include his cousin and friend, Bob Marosok; and his longtime friend, Bob Graves. Both were at his side at his time of death.
At Mr. Rutledges request no services are scheduled. Burial has taken place at Evansville Veterans Cemetery on Tuesday, October 14, 2003.

Edith Mae Salisbury, 85, of Sheridan, passed away on Friday, October 24, 2003, at Sheridan Manor.
Edith was born on April 26, 1918, in Biddle, Montana, to James A and Carrie S. (Hawkins) Geer. She grew up on her father’s cattle ranch in southeastern Montana. In her early teens she and the family moved to Broadus, later she moved to Miles City, Montana. Edith received her schooling in Montana. She moved to Sheridan in the fall of 1969 and worked for Stevens Fryberger, a cashier at Brown Drug and for several years was head of the gift department at McDonald’s Department Store. Edith married Earl Keith Salisbury on
June 17, 1988 in Miles City, Montana and made their home in Sheridan. Edith and Keith loved traveling through Canada and the western United States. Edith also loved dancing, her home life and her flowers.
Edith is survived, from a previous marriage to Joe Irion, by a stepdaughter, Carol Barbero, and step-grandchildren John, Joe, and Patti Barbero. She is also survived, from a previous marriage to Chet Severance, by a stepdaughter, Julie Mitchell. She is also survived by a stepson, Richard Salisbury of Tucson, Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Keith; her parents; and a brother, Alden Attla Geer preceded her in death.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2003 at 1:00pm, at Sheridan Elks Cemetery. Kane Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
Rudy Schilling age 87 of Ranchester, WY

Parents – Otto & Anna (Sperl) Schilling
He grew up on the family ranch and graduated from Ranchester High School. He worked for the railroad for a few years. Rudy married Patricia Reinhart in 1940. They were later divorced. He worked for N.A. Nelson Construction as a mason for many years as well as Randall Construction, KWN Construction and Husman Brothers until he retired. He married Dorothy Nichols in 1966 in Buffalo, WY. She died in 1979. After retiring, he ranched on the Schilling family ranch. He took care of his long time companion Pauline Dryden for many years until she died. He loved raising pheasants, peacocks and other birds. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, carpentry, coin collecting and gun collecting.

Graveside service will be 10:00am on Tuesday (Oct. 14th) in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery with the Rev. Ronald Nelson officiating. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.
Kelly Kay Schreibeis, 38, ended her battle with breast cancer Friday, October 10, 2003, at her home. Although ravaged by the fight, a heavenly victory is finally hers.
Kelly Kay was born on February 9th, 1965, to Kay (Wolfe) Pitman and David H. Schreibeis. She graduated from Sheridan High School in 1983 and was currently attending Sheridan College to become a certified massage therapist. The vast and varied experiences in between are too numerous to list, but made her the beautiful human being we loved.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Bud Wolfe, Peggy Hollander, and Ed and May Schreibeis. She is survived by her parents and their spouses, Lyle Pittman and Judy Schreibeis, respectively; Sisters Renee Moshier (James) and Lynnet Bede (Jim, and nephews, Finn and Kavan); and Judy’s children Lori Hink, Tim and Mike Lawson, and countless relatives and friends.
Our beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend was blessed with infinite talents giving her the ability to master art of any form, wether it was that of horse and stable operations, an acetylene torch, paintbrush, or camera. Creating beautiful pieces of wonder from whatever her imagination could see.
Kelly was full of grace, forgiveness, love, hope, and patience. She was a thoughtful, generous spirit who’s absence leaves an unspeakable void in the hearts of all who loved her.
A memorial service will be held at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, October 18th, 2003, at
10:00 a.m. with Reverend David Duprey officiating. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Kelly’s life will take place following the service at the Sheridan Center.

Donald Edward Sutton, 69, of Sheridan, WY, died Monday, October 27, 2003 at his residence.
Mr. Sutton was born February 9, 1934 in Kemmerer, WY to William Edward and Mary Emily (Clark) Sutton. He lived in Kemmerer as a young boy and the family moved to Cheyenne, WY when he was 8. Mr. Sutton attended schools in Cheyenne. He joined the Navy during the Korean War and graduated from high school while in the Navy.
Mr. Sutton returned to Cheyenne, and began his career as a meat cutter. He lived in various towns around WY, and moved back to Sheridan 10 years ago, working for Yalowizer Processing as a meat cutter. Mr. Sutton retired in 1999.
Mr. Sutton married Betsy Merrill in Cheyenne in 1956. She died in 1987.
He was a member of the Methodist Church, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, dancing, playing pool, and spending time with his friends.
Mr. Sutton was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and 1 brother.
He is survived by 2 sons, Scott E. Sutton, of Sheridan, and Rick Merrill, of Cheyenne; 2 daughters, Lisa Merrill, of Laramie, and Karen Doss, of Cheyenne; 1 brother, Bill Sutton, of Houston, TX; and 2 grandchildren.
At his request, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Mr. Sutton’s life will be held at 6:00 P.M., Friday, October 31, 2003 at Sutton’s Tavern, 1402 N. Main St., Sheridan. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.

Glenneda Vines, 93, of Sheridan, WY, died Wednesday, October 15, 2003 in Sheridan Manor.
Mrs. Vines was born September 8, 1910 in Battle Creek, Michigan to Howard Pershing and Ethel (Durkee) MacPherson. She grew up in the Midwest and graduated from Campbell County High School in 1928. She moved to Sundance and went to work as a line-o-type operator for her father who owned and operated the Sundance Times.
On September 2, 1933, she married Fred Vines in Sundance. The couple moved to Gillette and lived there for the next 37 years before moving to Sheridan in 1975. Mr. Vines died in 1976.
Mrs. Vines was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church in Sheridan, Chapter AB, P.E.O., and the Eastern Star in Gillette. She enjoyed reading, traveling, working crossword puzzles, and spending time with her family. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 2 brothers, and 2 sisters.
Mrs. Vines is survived by 3 sons; Ronald Vines and wife, Sue, of Riverton, WY, W. H. “Bill” Vines and wife, Kris, of Wheatland, WY, and Kenneth Vines and wife, Gwen, of Cheyenne, WY; 1 daughter, Marilyn Michelena, and husband, Sandy, of Sheridan; 1 brother, Ged MacPherson, of Portland, OR; 2 sisters, Marian Coles, of Manteca, CA, and Honey Hooper, of Sterling, CO; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Private family graveside services for Mrs. Vines will be 9:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 21, 2003 in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. A memorial service for Mrs. Vines’ family and friends will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 21, at the 1st Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Doug Melius officiating. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.

Rodger D. Wagner, 67, of Sheridan, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2003, at his Sheridan residence.
A lifelong Sheridan County resident Rodger was a third generation rancher on S.R. Creek, Northeast of Sheridan. The son of Mike G.Wagner and Mary A. Kuhl, grandson of Nicholas P. Kuhl and Flora Gove. Rodger was a direct descendant of Carlos Gove, the famous gunsmith and founding father of Denver, CO.
Besides ranching, Rodger worked in Sheridan for the railroad, Jersey Creamery, Holly Sugar, Hammers Chevrolet, and Decker Coal in Montana.
Rodger will be remembered for his elaborate sense of humor, integrity, hard work, creative ingenuity, and left handed plumbing. A gifted artist and metal worker, Rodger enjoyed welding, photography, story telling, hot cars, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, 4-wheeling, traveling and a well thought out practical joke.
Rodger is survived by his present wife Claudette D. Dube, his former wife Barbara A. Oliver, 3 children, 3 stepchildren, 4 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.

Andrew J.“Jack” Banas, 85, of Sheridan, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2003, at the Sheridan VA Medical Center.
Andrew was born on September 6, 1918, in Dietz, Wyoming, to Andrew and Mary (Nickles) Banas. Jack joined the Army in December of 1941 and served until his honorable discharge in December of 1945. He was assigned to the 6th Airdrome Squadron where he was an airplane and engine mechanic. His stint in the Army took him to Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, and Central Europe. Jack received the American Service Medal, the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, the World War II Victory Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal.
Mr. Banas was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Banas; his mother Mary (Kumor); and his two sisters, Delchia Neighbors and Jerry Banas.
Interment will be in Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, South Dakota with services held at a later date.
The family has requested that memorials be made in Jack’s name to the VA Medical Hospital Volunteer Fund in care of Karen Green, First Interstate Bank, P.O. Box 2007, Sheridan , WY 82801.
