Vicki C. Eskew, 61, of Sheridan, passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2002, at her residence.
Vicki was born on February 25, 1941, to Wally and Dorothy (Brewer) Achenbach in Sheridan. She married Bill Eskew, sidekick and soul mate, on August 9, 1988. She lived in Sheridan County most of her life, working for the Padlock Ranch, Ucross Guest Ranch, and the Ranger Bar before retiring. Vicki lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed singing, the outdoors and all aspects of nature, but most of all, time spent with family and friends. Known for a big heart, and being a rock of tiny proportion for all who needed her, she will be greatly missed.
Vicki Eskew was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Bill of Sheridan; her daughter Tammy Corcoran and her husband Dennis of Dayton, Wyoming; her two sons, Alan Crackenberger and his wife Susan of Ranchester, Wyoming, and Danny Dayton and his wife Brandy of Sheridan; her nine grandchildren, Troy Corcoran, Skyler Corcoran, Jessica (Crackenberger) Arizona, Jamie Crackenberger, Bobbie Jo Crackenberger, Josie Crackenberger, Cindy Dayton, Devin Dayton, and Morgan Spielman; her great-granddaughter Isabella Victoria Arizona; her sister Billie McCoul and her husband Raymond of Moorcroft, Wyoming; and her brother Terry Achenbach of Brownsville, Texas.
Cremation has taken place. The family will be hosting a carry-in dinner on Friday, November 15, 2002, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Dayton Community Hall to celebrate her life. Kane Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made in Vicki's name to the Dog and Cat Shelter in care of Delphine Toner, First Interstate Bank, P.O. Box 2007, Sheridan, WY 82801.
Parke M. Fox, 96, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2002, at Westview Health Care Center.
Parke was born on December 2, 1905, in Larned, Kansas, one of ten children born to David and Jennie (Smeltzer) Fox. Following his school years, he worked as a ranch mechanic, and married Mildred Chace in 1975 in Gillette, Wyoming. He ran the Ranchester Garage for 40 years. Parke enjoyed breaking horses to ride, riding in rodeos, making and mounting silver spurs, and big game hunting and fishing.
Mr. Fox was preceded in death by his parents, and his nine siblings. He is survived by his wife Mildred of Sheridan; his two daughters, Maxine Sipe and her husband Jack of Sheridan, and Shirley Samson and her husband Chuck of Wheatland, Wyoming; his stepson Bill Chace of Sheridan; one son; ten grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 4, 2002, at Kane Funeral Home with Slim Peterson officiating. Interment will follow the funeral in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. Kane Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
The family has requested that memorials be made in Parke's name to the donor's choice in care of Frances Winters, Community First Bank, 2 North Main Street, Sheridan, WY 82801.
Faye Gardner, 92, of Sheridan, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2002, at Sheridan Manor.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 18, 2002, at Kane Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Doolin officiating. Kane Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Ruby Ann Gieselman age 61 of Sheridan, WY

She grew up in Sheridan attending Taylor School and graduating from Sheridan High School in 1959. Ruby married Robert Gieselman on September 27, 1959, in Sheridan. She worked at Conrads for a few years. She was a member of Family Life Center. Ruby enjoyed her flower garden, bowling, bingo and collecting dishes & crystal. Ruby loved her grandchildren.
Her father preceded Ruby in death.

Ruby Harriet Goehring, 93, of Raymond, WA, died October 30, 2002 in Willapa Harbor Hospital in South Bend, WA.
Mrs. Goehring was born August 8, 1909 in Nebraska to Paul and Gertrude (Dennels) Murphy. She lived in Sheridan for many years and raised her family here. She was a member of the Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, in 1982; 1 son, her parents; 4 sisters; and 2 brothers.
Mrs. Goehring is survived by one son, Fred of Sheridan; and one daughter, Donna Magee, of Raymond, WA; 18 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.
Graveside services for Mrs. Goehring will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 19, 2002 in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery with the Rev. Arthur Maendl officiating. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.
Doris Greenough, beloved matriarch of the Greenough clan passed away Monday, December 9, 2002 at the age of 92 in Sheridan, Wyoming.
Doris Kathryn Corwin Greenough was born in Hemet, California on March 15, 1910 to William and Jennie Mae (Cox) Corwin. Her folks were apricot and walnut growers in the San Jacinto Valley. She attended college in Riverside, CA and graduated from Santa Ana College. In the summer of 1933, she came to Montana with a college friend and relatives where she met and fell in love with Frank Greenough. That fall she enrolled in Normal School at Billings. Frank and Doris were married in Hardin, Montana on October 24, 1934.
Their early married years were spent at Wyola, MT where Frank was the cowboss on the Antler Ranch. Gary, Myrtle Ann, Pat and Doug were born there. In 1945, they sold their holdings in Montana and bought the ranch at Recluse, Wyoming where Kathy and Mike were born and they adopted Jess. Their children were all raised at Recluse. She was a member of the Recluse Women's Club, 4-H, Wyoming CowBelles, and Arizona CowBelles.
In 1958, the Wyoming CowBelles named Doris the Wyoming Top Homemaker of the Year. Doris wrote and published her autobiography "Surviving the Good Life" which told the life of a woman on the ranch.
In 1963, they bought a ranch south of Tucson at Sahuarita, Arizona and thereafter Frank and Doris spent their winters in Arizona and summers at their cabin on Piney Creek in Story. Later on they moved from Sahuarita into Green Valley, Arizona. Frank Greenough passed away July 29, 1990.
Since then Doris has spent her years in Hemet, California and Sheridan, Wyoming. She enjoyed being with her family.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Greenough, her brother Webb Corwin, and her youngest son, Jess Greenough. She is survived by her sister Ardis Councilman in Hemet, California and six of her seven children: Gary Greenough, Tucson, AZ; Myrtle Ann Wallis, Recluse, WY; Pat Greenough and Doug Greenough, Sheridan, WY; Kathy York, Chino Valley, AZ; and Mike Greenough of Cochise, AZ; twenty-five grandchildren and thirty-three great grandchildren.
Services will be 10:00am on Thursday (Dec. 12th) from Champion-Ferries Funeral Home with the Rev. David Duprey officiating. Interment will be in Sheridan Elks Cemetery.

Lars Robert Hanson age 27, a former Sheridan resident

The family came to Sheridan when he was three. He grew up and graduated high school in Sheridan. Lars worked for N.A. Nelson Construction until 1997 when he went to work for T.I.C. doing industrial construction in many different states. He enjoyed Nascar racing, skiing, going to the mountains and little children.

Frank Daniel Harvey age 73 of Big Horn County, MT
Died Wednesday, December 11, 2002 in Memorial Hospital, Sheridan, WY
Born March 26, 1929, in Hegler, Idaho
Parents - Frank & Stella (Osborne) Harvey
He grew up in the Sheridan area and graduated from Sheridan High School. Frank enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War where he attained the rank of Sergeant with special recognition in electronics and communications. He was transferred to Japan where he met and married Rino Shimokawara on March 18, 1952, in Hokaido, Japan. After the service, they moved to Wyoming and lived in Sheridan and Gillette. Frank worked many jobs until he returned to ranching that he loved near Kirby, MT. Frank was very supportive of his children in their activities, sports and as a Boy Scout leader. He enjoyed playing musical instruments, natural healing, nature, hunting and fishing. Frank was a life member of the NRA.
Preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
