Aileen Marie Tate died of natural causes at Deaconess Hospital in Billings, Montana, on Jan. 12, 2002. A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peters Episcopal Church.
Aileen was born on Nov. 5th, 1919, in Miles City, Montana, to Ole and Marie Hagen. She lived with her parents and two brothers on the Hagen homestead until her mother’s untimely death in 1926. She was then raised by her grandmother, Lena Kelty, until she attended high school in Miles City.
After graduating from high school, at age 16, Aileen went West with her brother, Herbert, to San Francisco. She attended nurse’s training in San Francisco during the war years and developed lifelong friendships with her classmates with whom she communicated until her death. After the war, she moved back to Otter Creek and met Robert Tate, whom she married in Billings, Mt. in July 1947. In the next three years she had four children and her life’s work as a mother began in earnest while Robert ranched and sold horses to support the family. The family moved to their ranch west of Sheridan, Wy., in 1955, and it was there that Aileen spent the rest of her life as the loving and dedicated mother to her four children.
Aileen was an avid reader. She loved classical and Broadway music. She was very proud of her Norwegian heritage, and made numerous trips to Norway to visit her cousins in the old country. She loved to talk on the telephone to her children and many friends all over the country and in Europe. She was an inherently warm and gregarious person and a splendid conversationalist. She made all of the many horse buyers and guests at the ranch feel welcome and anxious to return for her ranch meals and genuine hospitality. Sharing love and affection was as natural as breathing for Aileen. She hugged and kissed virtually everyone as she greeted them or said goodbye.
Aileen served on the Beckton School Board, the Memorial Hospital Women’s Auxiliary and had been a Hospice Volunteer.
Aileen was preceded in death by her parents, Ole and Marie, and her brothers, Daniel and Herbert. She is survived by her husband, Robert; her children, Tom (Susan), Mimi (Jim), Richard (Alex), and Hardy (Patrice); her granddaughter, Martha; and her step-granddaughters, Amy and Audrey.

Glenn C. Workman
What we will always remember is the way he laughed, the stories he told and the guidance he gave...What we will always know is the friendship he shared, the sacrifices he made, the example he was...What we will always feel is his love.
Glenn C. Workman, 87 passed away quickly, Friday March 29, 2002. When we count our blessings we are happy that Glenn did not linger with a long hospitalization, he was able to live independently and truly took responsibility for himself to the end.
Glenn's life, in his own words, reads "I was born March 13th 1915 at Bayard, Nebraska to Paul and Ruth Workman. I was the eldest of 5 children. My parents brought me to WY when I was 2 years old. I spent my entire life in the Sheridan WY area. I attended school in Sheridan County and in the Decker, MT area. I spent my entire life working on ranches. I enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1941. In July of 1942 I married Selma Peabody. After my discharge from the Service we bought our own ranch on Big Goose Creek. We operated a small dairy farm where we raised our 3 children. After our children left home we sold the farm and moved to Sheridan. I delivered mail for a time and worked at the local livestock sale barn. I retired after a heart attack in 1983 and enjoyed my time with Sally and our travels including numerous visits to see our children and grandchildren."
Glenn was rightfully proud of his and his brother Floyd's service during World War II. Glenn kept in touch with the people he served with in Troop B of the 115 Cavalry Division. "Children's children are the crown of old men and the glory of children is their father." Proverbs 17:6. As you go on your way, May God go with you.
