William Martin Sanford
William Martin Sanford, 77 of Neeley Avenue, Jane Lew passed away January 26, at the Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital in Weston. He was born February 1, 1934 at Orlando, WV. The son of the late Clarence and Genevieve Posey Burkhammer Sanford. One son survives, Johnnie Richards of Rock Cave, one step daughter, Shirley Jenkins Starkey of Jane Lew. Two sisters, Robin Hanaker and Sharon Kennedy, Four brothers, Dennis, Ronnie, Roy and Arthur Burkhammer.
Several nieces and nephews survive. Four brothers are deceased, Roger, Jerry, Larry and Dewayne Burkhammer.
Mr. Sanford was a retired Mechanic, a member of the Weston Eagles and a member of the North American Hunting Club.
There will be no visitation and a Memorial service will be held at a later date. A Morris Funeral Home Service.

Lois V. "Elfreda" Butcher Allender
Lois V. "Elfreda" Butcher Allender, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2012 at Wellmont Hospice House in Bristol, Tenn.
Born on April 29, 1918 in Camden, she was the daughter of the late Noah N. and Audra P. Teter Wiseman. She was a former teacher in Lewis County and an employee of Alders Department Store for 20 years. In 1939 she married the late Dane Butcher who died in April, 1978. On October 12, 1985 she married Vance Allender, who died April 30, 2005.
Lois was a member of St. Matthews United Methodist Church, Stonewall Extension Club, Life member of Theresa Snaith Auxilary Eastern Star #40 and former teacher.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, and daughter, Chiquithia Taylor.
Lois is survived by two children, Dr. Michael Butcher and wife, Donna of Saratoga, CA, and Stephen K. Butcher and wife, Pamela of Kingsport; grandchildren, Brian Butcher, Brad Butcher and wife, Annelisa, Collin Butcher and fiancée, Megan, Bryn Lorentz and husband, Josh, Rick Taylor and wife, Michelle; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
She is also survived by a special sister-in-law, Inabel Floyd of Weston; son-in-law, Dick Taylor of Marietta, Ohio; nephew, Dave Floyd and wife Martha; niece, Jill Brogan and husband Mark; and niece, Patty Fenton and husband Jim.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, at St. Matthews United Methodist Church with Rev. Jonathan Nettles officiating.
Interment will follow at the Weston Masonic cemetery in Weston.
Honorary pallbearers will be Clyde Gidley and Albert Moneypenny.
Memorial contributions can be made to St. Matthews United Methodist Church, 120 East 3rd Street, Weston, WV 26452.

Donald Ray Byrd
Donald Ray Byrd, age 75, of the Hodgesville Community died Sunday, June 10, 2012 at his home. He was born August 23, 1936 in Cox's Mills, a son of the late Asel Boyd and Hestor Mayme Ann Smarr Byrd.
On April 20, 1957 he married Barbara Bush who survives. Also, surviving are one son, David Ray Byrd and wife Tina of Hodgesville; two daughters, Phyllis Ann Bailey and fiancé Danny Coombs and Kimberly Dawn Gifford and husband Russell, all of Hodgesville; foster son, Charles Stimeling and wife Melissa of Kesling Mill; one granddaughter, Jennifer Renae Ervin and Scott of Hodgesville; one grandson, Chad Allen Gifford of Norfolk, VA, serving in the U.S. Navy on board the U.S.S. Harry S. Truman; two foster grandsons, Travis Stimeling and wife Melanie of Decatur, IL and Clay Stimeling and wife Tiffany of High Point, NC; two step granddaughters, Larisa Workman and David and Megan Workman, all of Braxton County; one great grandson, Cameron Sean Ervin of Hodgesville; one foster-great-grandson, Christopher Stimeling of Decatur; two step-great-granddaughters, Mariah Bush and Kirra Laurentus, both of Braxton County; two step-great-grandsons, Nathan Bush and Gabriel Workman, both of Braxton County.; two brothers, James Byrd and wife Deloris of Cox's Mills and Asel Byrd and wife Betty of Cedar Creek; one sister, Ruby Bustle of Moses Lake, WA and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Arden and Bertis Byrd. Mr. Byrd was a well tender and a member of the Sand Run Baptist Church in Excelsior. He retired from Consolidated Natural Gas after 36 years and 10 months. He enjoyed working on old Ford tractors and farming and loved his dog, Air Bud.
Mr. Byrd also enjoyed spending time with his friends in his garage. He will be sadly missed by his family and close friends. Friends will be received Wednesday, June 13, 2012 from 10 a.m., - 1:30 p.m., at the church. A funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m., at the Sand Run Baptist Church with the Rev. Donald Butcher officiating.
Burial will follow in the Mt. Union Church cemetery in Tallmansville. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Sand Run Baptist Church, Rt. 2 Box 137-B Buckhannon, WV 26201.

Helen Bailey Frashuer
Helen Bailey Frashuer, 95, of Jane Lew, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 9, 2012, following a brief illness.
She was born January 21, 1917, in Weston, a daughter of the late Minter and Rella Bailey. On January 4, 1941, she married Arnett Frashuer who preceded her in death on November 29, 1989.
She is survived by two daughters; Charlotte Barnette and Jack her husband, Nancy Cutlip and Bill (deceased), four grandchildren; Jeff Barnette and Sandra, his wife, Robert Barnette and Cecil, his wife, Rita Barnette, and Matthew Barnette and Joanna, his wife; seven great- grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four brothers; Minter Jay, William, Howard, Fred and George; two sisters; Wilda and Mary; and two grandchildren, Erin Cutlip and Jackie Wayne Barnette II.
She was a member of McCann's Run Methodist Church. She was a store clerk and also worked for the board of education at Jane Lew Elementary School. She was an avid reader, loved to crochet, quilt and enjoyed watching old westerns.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman- Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Tuesday, June 12, from 2-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Jeff Barnette officiating.

Paul Bernard Radcliff
Paul Bernard Radcliff, 75, of Homewood community, Weston, went home to our Lord on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at his residence.
He was born in Lewis County on June 21, 1936: son of the late Archie Radcliff and Nina (Burkhammer) Radcliff.
On March 24, 1959, he married Willa (McCray) Radcliff, who survives.
Also surviving is one son: Wayne Radcliff and three daughters; Valerie Riddle, Joyce (Rick) Alderman and Melody (Chuck) Westfall. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; Rick Alderman, Tisha Cutright, Valla Riddle, Chris Riddle, Mindy Collins, Paul Haddix, Samantha Westfall and Sarah Hefner; and 13 great grandchildren.
Mr. Radcliff is also survived by three sister-in-laws; Yvonne McCray, Vonda Dye and Betty Radcliff; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Radcliff. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Mr. Radcliff was a glassworker for the WV Glass Specialty Company for several years and retired from the William R. Sharpe Hospital, both of Weston. He was a member of the Bendale United Methodist Church of Weston, where he was Methodist by faith. He was a member of the WV Army National Guard.
Family and friends were received at the Hardman- Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Thursday, June 7, from 4 p.m., - 8 p.m. Funeral services were held on Friday at 2 p.m., from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Carl Mouser officiating.

Linda Kay Henline Barton
Linda Kay Henline Barton, 64, of Horner, died Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 2:25 a.m., at United Hospital center in Clarksburg. She was born July 16, 1947: daughter of the late Denver Owen (Red) Henline and Gladys Katherine Hitt Henline. On July 16, 1965 she was married to Charles Stanley Lee Barton who survives.
Also surviving are one son, Stanley Lee Barton and wife, Angie, of Weston; one daughter, Selena Renee Barton Melton of Weston; one brother, Tommy Joe Henline and wife, Helen Kay of Roanoke, Va.; two sisters; Peggy Lee Gainer and husband, Ronald Glen Gainer of Horner; Tammy Lynn Jefferies and husband, Rondel R. Jefferies of Jane Lew; five grandchildren, Amanda Kay Melton, Ashley Renee Melton, Erika Shay Melton, Brooke Nicole Melton and Brandon James Barton; several nieces and nephews, great and great-great-neices and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
Mrs. Barton was preceded in death by one son, Charles Kevin Barton; two brothers, Denver Owen Jr., and Bobby Dale Henline; two sisters, Cassie Ann Henline and Robin Diane Cosner.
Mrs. Barton was a true christian lady, loved her family very dearly, the Blue Ridge Mountains, traveling and seeing the world. The loving words in our hearts can't be written down but remain in our hearts forever. She also loved her animals and wildlife dearly.
Friends were received at the Morris Funeral Home in Jane Lew, Thursday, July 5, from 6 p.m., to 8 p.m.,
Funeral services were held at the funeral home Friday morning at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Reuben Joseph Barton officiating. Burial followed in the Orlando cemetery.
Morris Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Linda Kay Henline Barton.

Anna Eva Muessig Childers
On Wednesday, July 4, 2012, in Colorado Springs, Colo., Anna Eva Muessig Childers (Ann E. Childers) of Jane Lew, passed quietly into God's care while she was sleeping. She had been visiting with her daughter and sister.
Ann was born in Galveston, Texas, on September 22, 1924: daughter of Karl John Wilhelm and Anna (Egert) Muessig.
In 1944, she married 2nd Lt. Max Kenneth Graham, USAF, who was killed in action over Normandy the same year. Ann returned to college, graduating from the University of Houston with a degree in art.
She married Warren Childers in Houston, Texas, in 1955. When she retired in 1995, Ann moved to Jane Lew.
She was a member of St. Paul's Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5131 Auxiliary, the Women of Transfiguration Church in Buckhannon, Jane Lew Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, Lewis County, West Virginia Republican Club, and Theresa Snaith Auxiliary of Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital. She was very active in her organizations and art work.
Her brother, Carl John Muessig, predeceased her.
Ann is survived by her beloved sister, Leonia Joann (Johnson) Seabury of Pinellas Park, Fla.; cousin Eva Louise Fritiofson of Galveston, Texas; daughter Lauren Eva (Childers) Martin and husband, Andrew Martin of Colorado Springs, Colo.; daughter Maxine Graham Olson and husband Fred A. Olson of Jane Lew; two grandsons, William David Graham Olson and wife Wesson Olson of Vienna, Virginia, and Max Kenneth Graham Olson and wife, Monique Stephens of Houston, Texas; two great-grandchildren, Amna and Ibrahim Olson, both of Vienna, Va.
There will be a memorial service at St. Paul's Church in Weston and a service at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Houston. She will be interred in Oleander cemetery in Galveston, Texas.

Robert Roy Doyle
Robert "Bob" Roy Doyle, 95, of 1361 Wheeler Fork, Horner, passed away on June 23, 2012 at the United Hospital Center Bridgeport.
He was born on February 6, 1917 in Weston: son of the late Christopher Columbus Doyle and Mattie Blanche (Cook) Doyle.
On May 23, 1947 he married Margaret J. "Peggy" (Vandergrift) Doyle who survives.
Mr. Doyle is the last surviving member of his immediate family. Survived are several nieces and nephews. Mr. Doyle was preceded in death by three brothers; Donovan Doyle, Andrew Franklin Doyle and Richard Doyle; four sisters Audrey Doyle, Thelma Cottrill, Grace Arnold and Louise Lewis.
Bob was a member of the Vandalia United Methodist Church. He worked as a painter and sheet rock finisher. He loved farming having raised hogs, sheep and chickens over the years. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and liked writing poetry.
Family will receive friends for time of fellowship on Sunday, July 15, 2012 at the Vandalia United Methodist Church from 2 p.m., until 4 p.m. A Memorial Services will follow fellowship at 4 p.m. at the church with Pastor Dwayne Brown officiating.

Bruce C. "Bud" Foster
Bruce C. "Bud" Foster, age 80, of Sycamore Road, Glenville, departed this life at 11:15 p.m., July 4, 2012, at his residence following a ten-month illness.
He was born January 30, 1932 in Wood County: son of the late Richard Foster and Agnus Wright Foster Dixion.
Bud was a heavy equipment operator in the oil and gas field and also coal mine where he was owner and operator of Foster Mining. Bud was one of the founding members of the Little Kanawha Trail Riders Association, where he served as president for several years, which was only fitting for his love of horses. He had owned one since the age of seven.
On March 30, 1973, he was united in marriage to Doris Groves Foster who survives at their Glenville home.
Surviving are two daughters, Carol Foster of Charleston and Dianne Hardin of Scottsville, Ky., three sons: Doug Foster of Glenville, Mike Montgomery of Charleston and Bill Foster of Glenville. Three granddaughters also survive, Sherri Guy, Jennifer Head and Melissa Head. He also leaves his loving little dog, Brunna, who is missing him so much. She stayed with him until the final work was done.
Along with his parents, Bud was preceded in death by one grandson, William F. "Bill" Foster.
Funeral Services have been entrusted to the Ellyson Mortuary Inc. Glenville, and was conducted at 2 p.m., Sunday, July 8, with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating.
Burial will follow in the Stalnaker cemetery, Glenville. Friends called from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., Saturday, at the mortuary.
Ellyson Mortuary Inc. is assisting the family of Bruce C. "Bud" Foster with arrangements.

Raymond Freshour
Raymond Freshour, age 65, of Camden, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2012.
Raymond was born November 5, 1946 in Germany: the son of the late Kenneth and Anna Frashour.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Branda Frashour of Camden; one son, Steven Frashour and his wife, Carissa Frashour; two grandchildren, Jared and Adriana of Nutterfort.
Also surviving are brothers, Charles, Rogers, Kevin, Wayne and Kenny Freshour and one sister, Linda Minigh.
At his request, there will be no visitation or services scheduled.
There will be a family burial service at a later date at the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
