QUINWOOD — Thelma Lorena Seal Foster Boone, 75, passed away early Tuesday, May 8, 2007, at the home of her daughter, Patty Jones of Marfrance, following a long illness.
Born April 29, 1932, at Rappahannock, Va., she was a daughter of the late Everett and Mattie Bailey Seal.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul G. Foster; two sisters; and six brothers.
Thelma was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her husband, Edmond Boone of Crichton; two daughters, Patty Jones and husband, Norman, of Marfrance and Betty Thomas of Orange, Va.; four sons, Milton Foster and wife, Drucilla, of Linden, Va., Paul Foster and wife, Nita, of Barboursville, Va., Donald Foster and wife, Linda, of Barboursville, Va., and Walter Foster and wife, Terry, of Louisa, Va.; a niece, Joyce Wilson of Orange; two brothers, Haywood Seal of Rileyville, Va., and Arthur Seal of Bentonville, Va.; numerous grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; and special friends, Marilyn Mullins, Sarah Morgan, Lee Daniel and Petie Hamrick.
Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Maddox Funeral Home, Front Royal, Va., with Mr. Randy Bartlett officiating. Burial will follow in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Winchester, Va.
Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Jobill Campbell
AMES HEIGHTS/LANSING — Jobill Campbell, 83, passed away Monday, May 7, 2007 at the Beckley VA Medical Center following an extended illness.
Born Dec. 24, 1923, at Amigo, Raleigh County, he was the son of the late William Emmitt Campbell and Maude Frances Sizemore.
Mr. Campbell was a member of Kesler Memorial Presbyterian Church on Sunday Road at Hico and a World War II U.S. Army veteran. He was a retired coal miner from Semet/Solvey Harewood Mine at Boomer. Other organizations in which he had been active are Knights of Pythians at Ansted, Oak Hill VFW, Plateau Amateur Radio Club and AARP. He was a longtime member of the Fayette County Democratic Party.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Sue Pinson Campbell, and a son, Paul Campbell.
Left to cherish his memory are his three sons, Jobill Norman “Joey” Campbell Jr. of Sallisaw, Okla., James Edward “Soup” Campbell of Parkersburg and John Leslie “PeeWee” Campbell of Lansing; five daughters, Rose Lillian Carte of Ames Heights, Argatha Frances Eads of Gloucester, Va., Nancy Lee Butner of Oak Hill, Carol Jeanette Pittman of Oak Hill and Denise Lynn Reed of Hico; a brother, Guy H. Campbell of Sunday Road, two sisters, Margarie Frances Campbell of Sunday Road, and Patsy Mae Bibbee of Charleston; 19 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
Service will be 11 a.m., Friday, May 11, at Kesler Memorial Presbyterian Church, Sunday Road, with Father Roy Gene Crist officiating. Burial will follow in Kesler Memorial Presbyterian Church cemetery.

Mary Frances Griffith
BLUEFIELD — Mary Frances Griffith, 72, formerly of Premier, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 7, 2007, in the comfort of her home.
Born Feb. 28, 1935, at Bolt, she was the daughter of the late William and Corby Rollins Massey, being the youngest of 13 children.
She was married to the Rev. Lloyd H. Griffith on March 21, 1953. A life-long Christian, she strove tirelessly to tell of the love of Jesus to all who would listen. Over the past 54 years as a minister’s wife, she had the opportunity to work and minister in various states, including New Jersey, New Mexico, West Virginia and evangelized in countless other states, including “Old Mexico.” She was a resident of Bluefield the past five years. Prior to moving to Bluefield she had resided in Premier. She was of the Pentecostal Faith and attended the Church of God in Bluefield.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Paul and Benny; and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her husband, Rev. Lloyd H. Griffith of Route 5, Bluefield; a daughter, Faith Hall and husband, Bobby, of Bluefield; two sons, Charles E. Griffith and wife, Pam, of Bluefield and Lloyd A. Griffith and wife, Donna, of Columbus, Mont.; a brother, Tom Massey of Minden; a sister, Gracie Stover of Oak Hill; and five grandchildren, Joshua Griffith of Phoenix, Ariz., Rebecca Hall of Bluefield, Troy Griffith of Columbus, Mont., Bobby Hall Jr. of Knoxville, Tenn., and Charles Aaron Griffith of Bluefield.
Service will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 11, at Bluefield Church of God, Cumberland Road, with the Rev. Danny Scott, the Rev. Stephen Walker and the Rev. Silas Mullins, officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park cemetery, Bluewell.

Andrew Byron Logan
OAK HILL — Our wonderful son, brother, uncle and friend, Andrew Byron Logan, 43, of Oak Hill, died Sunday, May 6, 2007, at his home.
Born Dec. 27, 1963, at Oak Hill, he was the son of Rosebud Foster Logan of Oak Hill and the late Rev. Andrew J. “Jack” Logan, Jr.
He was a certified physician’s assistant, having last worked for Five Oaks Family Clinic.
Mr. Logan was a member of Cotton Hill Baptist, where he was baptized by his father, the Rev. Jack Logan.
He was a 1982 graduate of Oak Hill High School and also graduated from the College of West Virginia in Beckley.
Byron was caring, loving, compassionate and hard working — always willing to do anything that anyone needed. He always had an answer for everything. If he didn’t know it right then he would get you the answer as soon as he could. More than knowing the answers was his ability to listen. He never met a stranger and always listened to your concerns.
As a student of Beverly Bazzie, he became an excellent pianist.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Thomas H. Foster and Addie Sowder Foster, and his paternal grandparents, A.J. Logan Sr. and Maud Hill Logan.
Additional survivors include a brother, Robert Alan Logan and wife, Bonny, of Orlando, Fla.; his sister, Carolyn Rose Benda and husband, Bruce, of Oak Hill; five nieces and nephews, Sarah Elaine Benda, Jeremy Bruce Benda, Robert Alan Logan II, Andrew David Logan and Amber Nicole Logan; as well as many cousins, aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. today at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill.
Service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, May 10, at the funeral home with Rev. Mack Canterbury, Rev. David Sneed and Rev. Pete Lokant officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill.
Jeremy Benda, Bruce Benda, Brian Law, Randy Lively, Bobby Love and Harry Bowles will serve as pallbearers.
Richard Z. Maxymow
Richard Z. Maxymow, 77, died Monday, May 7, 2007, at the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley.
He was preceded in death by a son, Steven J. Maxymow, in 1966; his father, Daniel Maxymow; mother, Eugenia P. Worden; and stepbrother, Frank Worden.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jean Maxymow; three daughters, Jo Davis and her husband, Mike, of Weed, Calif., Kim Ritter and her husband, Mark, of Little River, S.C., and Jennifer Sanders and her husband, Matthew, of Keller, Texas; his grandchildren, J.R. Cox, Jonathan, Marina and Michaela Davis, Jason and Justin Ritter and Riley and Madison Sanders; a stepbrother, Herbert Worden; and a stepcousin, Barbara Santucci.
Richard served in the U.S. Navy aboard a submarine for four years as their chef. He was a retired professional firefighter from St. Petersburg, Fla.
We are so grateful and thankful to the Bower House nurses and staff for the wonderful and loving care for Richard and his family, also to Rev. Delmas E. Wolfe who led Rick to the Lord recently.
At Rick’ s request, his body is being donated to WVU for scientific research.
Rick’s family would be honored by memorial donations to the Bowers Hospice House of Southern West Virginia Inc., P.O. Box 1472, Beckley, WV 25802-1472.
A private memorial service will be planned for a later date.

LANSING — Berman E. Meadows Jr., 78, passed away at his residence Tuesday, May 8, 2007, following a long illness.
Born July 19, 1928, at Madeline, he was a son of the late Berman Earl Meadows and Ollie M. Jones.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Naomi Sweet Meadows on May 4, 2001; a son, Jimmy Lee Meadows; and a brother, Bobby Ray Meadows.
He was a retired commercial roofer and a member of Local 88.
Survivors are three daughters, Brenda Stoll of Elida, Ohio, Peggy Meadows of Massillon, Ohio, and Tammy Steele of Port Charlotte, Fla.; two sons, Berman E. Meadows III and Robert D. Meadows, both of Orrville, Ohio; sisters, Ruth Daniels and Nora Jane Tygrett, both of Oak Hill; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Goodhope Baptist Church, Graydon, with the Rev. Michael Skaggs officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Friends may call one hour before service Thursday at the church.

Audrey Hatcher Meadows, 72, of Daniels, passed away Monday, May 7, 2007.
Born Sept. 17, 1934, she was the daughter of Robert Lee and Della Wilson Smith.
Audrey enjoyed gospel music videos and working puzzles. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Seldon Hatcher; second husband, Donald “Tom” Meadows; brothers, Billy, Bobby and Danny; and sisters, Eleanor and Betty.
Those left to cherish her memory include son, Les Hatcher and his wife, Yvonna, of Beckley; daughter, Leta Gonzalez-Pyryt of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; son, Mike Hatcher and his wife, Debra, of Cool Ridge; grandchildren, Angela Bevins and her husband, Darrell, of Mount Holly, N.C., Joshua Hatcher of Beckley, Tara Maria Gales and her husband, Chris, of Canada, Michelle Hatcher of Cool Ridge and Chris Hatcher and his wife, Sara, of Cool Ridge; great-grandchildren, Kaliee Bevins, McKenzie Bevins and Brooke AshLynn Gales; brothers, Johnny, David, Roger and Sammy; and sisters, Thelma and Shirley.
