OAK HILL — Clarence Lenwood “Pete” Craft, Sr., 80, of Oak Hill, passed away Friday, Feb. 16, 2007, at his home.
Born May 9, 1926, at Rainelle, he was the son of the late Clarence and Minerva Adkins Craft.
He was the owner of C&C Packett at Hilltop. He was a member, past Master, and current Treasurer of Oak Hill Lodge No. 120 A.F. & A.M., Past High Priest of Sewell Chapter No. 24 R.A.M., past Grand High Priest of the Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of West Virginia, and member of the Mount Hope Commandery No. 22 K.T. He was a graduate of Rainelle High School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Orpha Etta Greer Craft, on Feb. 24, 1976; and a sister, Bettye Brubaker of Lexington, Va.
Survivors include his son, C.L. “Junior” Craft, Jr., of Oak Hill; two daughters, Orpha Sue Keel of Gresham, Ore., and Bettye Lynn Craft of Lakewood, Wash.; three grandchildren; a brother, Robert Hand of Tucson, Ariz.; and sister, Ester Johnson of Lynchburg, Va.
Services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel in Oak Hill, with Pastor James P. Allen officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill, with Masonic graveside rites by Oak Hill Lodge No. 120 A.F. & A.M.
Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco.

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. — Irene Hodge, 82, of Pembroke Pines, Fla., died Feb. 12, 2006, at Memorial West Hospital in Pembroke Pines.
Born May 31, 1924, at Eunice, the daughter of the late Jackson Spears and Julia Weaver Spears.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Carla Bowling and her husband Ronald and Debra Schollenberger and her husband Richard; grandchildren, John and Kelly Bowling, Lee Eckert and his wife Ashley, Denise McGowan, Scott Bowling, Tony and Nicole Schollenberger; brothers-in-law, Charles Hodge and his wife Rozena and Norman Hodge and wife Violet; and a sister-in-law, JoAn Hodge.
Her remains rest at High Lawn Funeral Home Chapel, 1435 E. Main St., Oak Hill, where the family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. today and where service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, with Rev. Wayne Peters officiating. Interment will be in High Lawn Memorial Park.

Ethel Garrett Strange
PAX — Following a long illness, Ethel Strange, 81, formerly of Pound, Va., passed away Saturday morning at 9:15 a.m. on Feb. 17, 2007, at her daughter’s residence with whom she made her home.
Born Aug. 25, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Denzil Hugh Garrett and Nellie Henley Garrett.
The last surviving member of her immediate family, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, William F. Strange, in 1993; her first husband, James H. Thomson, in 1952; her infant daughter, Margaret, in 1952; her five brothers, Hugh Lynn, Carl, Charles, Lowell, and Kenneth Garrett.
Over the course of her lifetime, she found her greatest joys in the time she spent with her family and friends. Her zest for life and family became the source of strength and inspiration to each generation that followed her. Her talent for laughter, gardening, and cooking were appreciated by those whose life she touched. She was a former member of the Weirwood Community Church, the Pound Presbyterian Church, and a current member of the Packs Branch Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, June Keffer of Pax, Susan Griffin of Charlotte, N.C., and Kathy Hatfield and her husband Daniel of Beckley; her grandchildren, Merrit Keffer Markham and husband Bill, Jarrod Keffer and wife Linda, Katie and Eric Hatfield; her great-grandsons, Chris and Kevin Markham; and her great-granddaughters, Emily Markham and Ryen and Reece Keffer.
Through her extended illness she received loving care from her physician Dr. Gary Poling and caregivers Florabelle Wines of Pax and Mabel Williams of Clear Creek.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. today at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley, with Pastor Sam Vance officiating. Burial will follow at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the Kelly-Strange Family cemetery at Sunnydale Farm at Pound, Va.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The visitation will be from 6 p.m. until the time of service this evening.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that donations be made to Hospice of Southern WV.

JUMPING BRANCH — Lennie Wilma Wills, 89, of Jumping Branch, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, went home to be with the Lord at 8:50 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007, at the Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital, following a long illness.
Born Feb. 9, 1917, at Ellison, she was a daughter of the late Wilbert and Susie Pettry Cox.
A lifelong resident of Summers County and a member of the Bluestone View Primitive Baptist Church, she was a precious soul who loved everyone she knew, and she had the special joy of sharing her birthday with her son Charles.
She was preceded in death by three sons, Robert, Donnie Ray, and Herbert Wills; five brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Willis Robert Wills; five sons, Dewey Wills and wife Mabel of Raleigh, Nelson Wills and wife Patty of Ellison, Joseph Wills and wife Virginia of Nimitz, Charles Wills and wife Penny of Raleigh, and Robert Wills and wife Barbara of Ellison; three daughters, Retha Bolen and husband Wayne of Nimitz, Willa Basham and husband Darrell of Nimitz, and Wilma Hatfield of Jumping Branch; a daughter-in-law, Elaine Wills of Jumping Branch; a brother, Thomas Cox of Ghent; a sister, Lola Basham of Massillion, Ohio; 28 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Bluestone View Primitive Baptist Church, with Elders Tommy Pack and David Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in the Lilly-Crews cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 until 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors and at the church one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

ROANOKE, Va. — Eula L. Boggs Spencer Tribbett, 97, passed over to eternal life with the Lord on the morning of Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2005.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Rosewood cemetery, Lewisburg, with her great-granddaughter, Morgan Brown, singing “There You’ll Be.”

Sonny Lee Walker
Sonny Lee Walker, 51, of Clear Fork, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Oct. 16, 2005, at his residence.
Born Oct. 15, 1954, in Wyoming County, he was the son of the late Raymond and Eunice Walls Walker.
In addition to his parents, two sisters, Angela and Ruth Walker, preceded him in death.
Mr. Walker was in construction and was employed by Lambert Excavating. He enjoyed woodworking, his granddaughters and being with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Denita Hatfield Walker; a son, Anthony Walker and his wife, April, of Hanover; three daughters, Crissy Mounts and her husband, Dwayne, of Gilbert, Natasha Lester and her husband, Matthew, of Hanover and Samantha Walker at home; two brothers, Eddie Walker and his wife, Brandy, of Accoville and Lionel Walker and his wife, Belinda, of Florence, S.C; four sisters, Linda Cline and her husband, Hobert, of Simon, Loretta Kersey and her husband, Mike, of Alta Vista, Va., Leshia Brooks and her husband, Barry, of Baileysville and Marlene Shelton and her husband, Johnny, of Florence, S.C.; and three precious granddaughters, Whitlee Lester, Kelsey Mounts and Kendra Walker.
Service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Evans Memorial Chapel, Oceana, with the Rev. Hannibal Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny.
Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Nephews and friends will serve as pallbearers.
