Robert ‘Buddy’ Perry
GOOSE CREEK, S.C. — Robert “Buddy” Perry, formerly of Whitesville, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2005, at Medical University of South Carolina.
He was born May 29, 1947, at Kayford, a son of the Rev. Ernest Perry and wife, Desree, of Acme, and the late Kathleen Pack Perry.
He was a plant operator for Charleston Public Works, Charleston, S.C. He was also a former coal miner and attended Goose Creek Worship Center Church of God.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Dillon Perry; daughters, Misty Dawn Perry and Kathleen Viola Perry, both at home; five sisters, Judy Butler (Billy) of Colcord, Sandra Kind (David) of Charleston, Sherry Boggs and late husband, Billy June Bug, of Nitro, Donna Williams (Joe) of Artie and Vicki Smith of Whitesville; three brothers, James “Dean” Perry (Belva) of Whitesville, Jackie Perry (Becky) of Parkersburg and Ricky Perry (Tammy) of St. Albans; and 15 nieces and nephews.
Our dad was a hard-working man. He was a good husband, father, son and brother. He loved everyone very much. He would always make you laugh no matter what kind of mood you were in. He always put his family and God first. He taught us that when things go wrong never give up and always go for your dream. Mom and dad taught us about God and that he can do anything. We love you.
Our No. 1 dad and No. 1 husband. Love, his wife and girls.

Naomi E. Williams
Naomi Elizabeth Williams, born April 12, 1919, in Ivaton, went home in the hands of the Lord on October 19, 2005, in White Oak, Ga.
She was the daughter of the late Henry and Cora Wade Bailey.
Naomi lived in Hinton until 1961 where she was a very active member of Second Baptist Church.
In 1961 she moved to New York where she made her home until her illness in 2001. While in New York, Naomi continued her church activities as a member of Union Baptist Church in Hempstead.
Naomi loved life. Even on a cloudy day she could find a song in her heart. She smiled a lot and she loved to dance. She often took time to care for a sick friend or relative.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Maynard Williams; a brother, Henry Bailey, Jr.; a sister, Velma Nelson; and two grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Lydia Sastre and Grace Williams, both of White Oak, Ga.; a son, James Williams of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico; two sisters, Madelynne Woods of Hinton and Mary Richardson of Columbus, Ohio; two grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; a niece and many nephews.
Naomi will be missed by her family and friends.
Service will be 2:30 p.m. Monday at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel, Hinton, with Elder William Catus officiating. Burial will be in Esquire cemetery, Hinton.
Friends may call 1 p.m. until time of service Monday at the funeral home.

Tamika Chenelle Callendar
Tamika Chenelle Callender, 33, of 128 N. Juniper Ave., Richmond, Va., died 11:43 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007, at VCU Medical Center.
Born Nov. 23, 1973, at Beckley, she was the daughter of James Hoskins of Savanna, Ga. and Vicky Patterson Tanks of Highland Springs, Va., and the great-granddaughter of Essie Baxter of Beckley.
Tamika was a member of New Hope Baptist Church of Beckley and was a 1992 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Brooklyn Callender; and great-grandfather, Francill Baxter.
Other survivors include her husband, Jason Callender of Beckley; a daughter, Sariah Callender of Highland Springs, Va.; maternal grandmother, Pauline Morris of Beckley; three brothers, Michael Hoskins of Beckley, William Hoskins of Highland Springs, Va., and Deshae Williams of Tacoma, Wash.; two sister, LaShara Hoskins of Beckley, and April Hoskins of Atlanta, Ga.; special friends, Kesha Johnson of Charleston, and Nicole Jones of Beckley; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at New Hope Baptist Church, 304 Worley Rd., Beckley, with the Rev. Nathaniel Carey officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.

Theodore Edgar Deitz
VICTOR — Theodore Edgar Deitz, 91, departed this life, Sunday, Jan. 21, 2007, to be with his Lord following a long illness.
Born July 28, 1915, at Horseshoe, and was a son of the late William McKnight Deitz and Della Jane Hawver Deitz. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Delora D. Deitz on Oct. 1, 2002; a son, Theodore Lee Deitz on March 21, 1991; a brother, Luther Deitz and a nephew, Jimmy Deitz.
He was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church of Victor, Secretary of Nicholas County Car Club. He was a member of the White Shrine in Charleston, Past Master of Hayden Lodge No. 113 of Ansted, with over 50 years of service and a retired supervisor of Alloy Plant.
Survivors are a granddaughter, Kinsie Deitz of Victor; two grandsons, Theodore Deitz and Matthew Deitz, both of Orrville, Ohio; four great-grandchildren, Andrew Deitz, Theodore Deitz, Zechariah Deitz and Clayton Deitz, all of Orrville, Ohio; a daughter-in-law, Wilma Deitz of Orrville, Ohio; sister-in-law, Virgie Deitz of Charleston, close family friends, Ralph and Debra Middleton of Victor.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, 2007, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home Chapel in Ansted, with Pastor Bill Kincaid officiating. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memory Gardens at Victor. Masonic graveside rites will be conducted at the cemetery.

Evelyn R. Eads
OCEANA — Evelyn R. Eads, departed this life Friday, Jan. 19, 2007, at the age of 79 years, 9 months and 12 days, at Raleigh General Hospital following a long illness.
Born April 7, 1927, at Mordue, W.Va., Evelyn was the daughter of the late Percy and Anna Lee Deal, and the adopted daughter of Archie and Ethel Swanigan of Dorothy.
Evelyn resided in Oceana, with her daughter, Annetta Stacy and her sister, Martha Hurley.
She was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church in Dorothy, then becoming a member of Matheny Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, John Hubert Deal and Marcus Deal; and a sister, Eleanor Scott.
Those left to cherish her memory are a son, Ralph Curtis Larzo and his wife, Nora of New Jersey; two daughters, Annetta Stacy of Oceana and Rita Long and her husband, Truman of North Carolina; a brother, Roger Dale Deal and his wife, Sabrina of South Carolina; three sisters, Martha Hurley of Oceana, Jody Kendell and her husband, Dennis of Florida and June Oberhouser and her husband, Chris of Michigan; five grandchildren, James Stacy and his wife, Amy of Evans, Christopher Long and his wife, Penny of Maryland, Victoria Brigman and her husband, Paul of North Carolina, Jennifer Larzo of New Jersey, Willard Long Jr., and his wife, Carla of Ravenswood, and Matthew Long and his wife, Lori Beth of Cottageville; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
A celebration of Evelyn’s life will be 1 p.m. today, Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007, at Adam Toler Memorial Funeral Home with the Revs. Richard Chester and David Petry officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley.
Casketbearers will be family and friends.

James Fekete
James Fekete of Crab Orchard passed away Sunday January 21, 2007 at Raleigh General Hospital of a long illness.
Born Aug. 1, 1930 at Whipple, he was the son of the late Steve and Julia Kish Fekete.
He was a Marine Corp Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Recipient of the Purple Heart.
He was a retired coal miner from Slab Fork Coal Company and a member of the UMWA.
James was preceded in death in addition to his parents, four brothers Steve, Calvin, Eugene, and Clifford and one sister, Margaret Johnson.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 52 years, Mary Redden Fekete; four daughters Theresa Fekete and her fiancee Dennis Sims of Beckley, Connie Underwood and her husband Larry of Maple Fork Road; Tammy Alderman and her husband Terry and Jessica Stover and her husband Toby all of Sand Branch Road; two sisters Elizabeth Massie and her husband Clifford of Crab Orchard; and Julie Ann Richardson of Clemmens, N.C.; two brothers, Frank Fekete and wife Carvalho of Chesapeake, OH and Ernie Fekete and his wife Brenda of Roseville, Mich.; six granddaughters, Rachel Parson and her husband Billy, Heather Underwood, April, Erica and Megan Alderman, and Sydni Stover; one grandson, Seth James Stover; three great granddaughters, Jordan and Raigan Lytton and Alexxus Parson.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday January 25, 2007 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley with Gary Miller officiating. Military burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, by American Legion VFW Post 149.
