WHEELING — Angelo M. Comerci, 83, of Bradford Place, Wheeling, died Friday, May 18, 2007, at home.
He was born Sept. 15, 1923, in Newark, N.J., the son of the late Giacomo and Josephine D’Andrea Comerci.
He was a retired mechanical engineer and a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Wheeling.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Fannie J. Comerci, in 2003; three brothers, Frank, Nick and Jim Comerci; and a sister, Carmella Schubert.
Surviving are a daughter, Joanne Neely and her husband, Ken, of Blacksburg, Va.; two sons, Dr. James L. Comerci and his wife, Lynn, of Wheeling and John M. Comerci and his wife, Debbie, of Beckley; a sister, Connie DeTriquet and her husband, Tom, of Chesapeake, Va.; two brothers, Dr. John Comerci and his wife, Jeri, of Short Hills, N.J., and Dr. George Comerci and his wife, Jane, of Tucson, Ariz.; two sisters-in-law, Tina Comerci of Short Hills and Rose Comerci of Phoenix, Ariz.; eight grandchildren, Lauren, Leslie and Brian Neely, Jennifer Jerrome and her husband, Corey, and Michele, Michael, Leah Ann, and Mary Fan Comerci; three great-grandchildren, Vincent and Marra Jerrome and Parker Skedel; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received 6 to 8 p.m. today at Kepner Funeral Home, National Road at Bethany Pike, Wheeling.
Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 2 p.m. Monday at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wheeling, with the Rev. Anthony Cincinnati officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
Christian wake service will be 7:30 p.m. today.

Dorothy J. Hargus, 78, of Jonben, died Friday, May 18, 2007, at her home following a sudden illness.
Born April 20, 1929, at Fireco, she was the daughter of the late Elliott Meadows and Ethel Meadows.
Mrs. Hargus was a homemaker and a member of Whitby Church of God. She had made her home at Jonben all of her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Hargus; brothers, Frank and Danny Meadows; and an infant brother.
Surviving are her son, Thomas Meadows and wife, Faye, of Dickson, Tenn.; daughters, Julie Hensley and husband, Donald, of Fireco, Mary Canterbury and husband, John, of Coal City, Carolyn Rollins and husband, James, of Vernon, Fla., Evelyn Lilly and husband, Ronald, of Jonben and Jean Kelley and husband, Berthel, of Whitby; brothers, Elliott Meadows Jr. and wife, Sue, of Sullivan and Bill Meadows and wife, Kay, of Plainville, Conn.; sisters, Ruth Ann Meadows of Fireco, Joan Barton and husband, Asher, of Fireco and Judy D’Angelo and husband, Kenneth, of Beckley; 20 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.

Bobby Lewis Jones
Bobby Lewis Jones, 61, of Beckley, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2007, following a long battle with cancer.
Born Jan. 29, 1946, in Akron, Ohio, he was the son of Bernard and Brenda Jones.
Bobby was last employed by the Travel Plaza Burger King. He was an avid collector of model cars, enjoyed fishing and spending time with his friends. Bobby had a warm, outgoing personality and was friends with everyone he met.
Those left to cherish his memory are many special friends where he last lived at Vance Drive Apartments where he resided for over 13 years.
Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, at Pikeview Christian Church, Beckley, with the Rev. Dennis Kinzer officiating.

FOREST HILL — Adam Dale Light, 21, of Forest Hill, died Thursday morning, May 17, 2007, in Beckley.
Born Dec. 21, 1984, in Hinton, he was a son of David Dale and Lita Cheryl Neely Light of Forest Hill and brother of Ryan James Light of Beckley.
He was a 2003 graduate of Summers County High School, an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman and a volunteer firefighter for the Forest Hill Volunteer Fire Department.
Besides his parents, he is survived by a daughter, Robin Marie Light; a son, Shawn Dale Light of Beckley; Jacob Miller, a child whom he reared as his own son, of Beckley; maternal grandparents, James Mason and Ellen Carol Tickle Neely of True; maternal great-grandmother, Dora Dale Neely of Pipestem; paternal grandparents, Phillip J. and Betty Bernice Clowers Light of Forest Hill; two uncles, Phillip L. Light and wife, Carolyn, of Beaver and their children, Seth, Sara and Samuel Light; and James R. Neely and wife, Diana, of Aurora, Colo., and their children, Alexis, Elaina and Mason Neely.

ARLINGTON, Va. — Judith Anne Ballenger-Thompson, 65, of Arlington, formerly of Prince, passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2007, in Elizabethtown, Pa.
Born Dec. 31, 1941, in Fayetteville, she was the daughter of the late Roy T. and Macie M. Plumley.
She was a retired bank copy clerk.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Ballenger; and her second husband, Allen E. Thompson.
Survivors include three daughters, Donna L. Patterson and Rebecca A. Ballenger of Alexandria, Va., and Christine M. Brunn of Mount Joy, Pa.; two daughters-in-law, Nikki Johnson and Cheryl Falcone, both of Alexandria; two sons-in-law, Kermit Patterson of Fairchance, Pa., and Michael Brunn of Mount Joy; a sister, Karen M. Humphrey of Oak Hill; and three brothers, Roy T. Plumley Jr. of Beckley, Robert L. Plumley of Georgia and William A. Plumley of Prince.

Vada Loretta Scott, 83, of Beckley, died Tuesday, May 15, 2007, at Davis Health Care Center, Wilmington, N.C.
She was born in Raleigh County on May 3, 1924, daughter of the late Peter Frazier Webb and Margaret Susan Biggs Webb.
Her husband, Frank Brown, died in 1966. She later married Curtis Scott, who died in 1992.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Beecher Webb, Cyrus Webb, Herbert Webb, Clarance “Jack” Webb and Lawson “Preacher” Webb; and sisters, Lakie Webb, Ora Webb, Lois Leslie, Nada Wood, Elizabeth Miller and Ova Harris.
Surviving are her son, Freddy Brown of Rocky Point, N.C.; grandchildren, Frank Brown and wife, Karen, of Garland, N.C., Christopher Brown of Wilmington and Shelly Brown and husband, James Chittum, of Wilmington; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Winnie Minton of MacArthur; and several nieces and nephews.

HINTON — Samuel William “Sam” Titta, 76, of Madam’s Creek, died Saturday, April 1, 2006, at the Raleigh General Hospital at Beckley, following a short illness.
Born July 4, 1929, in Wyoming County, he was the son of the late Constantino Salvatoria and Maria Aeillo Titta.
Sam had lived most of his life in Summers County; he was a retired machinist for the Norfolk and Southern Railroad with 49 years of service. He was a Baptist.
Preceded in death by a son, Steve Titta; a daughter, Pamela Titta; three brothers and six sisters.
Survived by his wife, Jean Titta at home; a daughter, Venesia Clinebell and husband, David, of Jumping Branch; two stepdaughters, Gail Ronat and husband, Andy, of Ellison and Shelda Crook and husband, Jackie, of Jumping Branch; a grandson, Shawn Titta and wife, Tara, of Charlotte, N.C.; a granddaughter, Erica Reed and husband, John, of Jumping Branch; six stepgrandchildren, Bobby Ronat and wife, Sarah, Melinda Ronat, Jason Crook, Jackie Lee Crook and wife, Tina, Aaron Crook and Brian Crook; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
