LANSING — Geraldine Ethyl Dempsey Workman, 76, of Lansing, passed away Friday, April 13, 2007, at home following an extended illness.
Born on Feb. 21, 1931, at Spy Rock, she was the daughter of the late Earl Stanley Dempsey and Thelma Holly Dempsey.
Mrs. Workman was a member of the Lansing Baptist Church, a member of the Fayette-Raleigh County Genealogy Society, United Daughters of the Confederacy, and past treasurer of the Fayette County Republican Party. She was a retired bookkeeper for the W.Va. Department of Highways.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Workman II, on June 6, 2006; and two brothers, James Dempsey and Eldridge Roy Dempsey.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, James Workman III of Lansing, Earldine Robinson and her husband, Clarence, of Lansing, Laura Campbell and her husband, John, of Lansing, and Kathi Pridemore and her husband, Darrell, of Victor; one sister, Eloise Danko and her husband George of Ravenswood; one sister-in-law, Eva Workman of Lansing; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, one stepgreat-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2007, at the Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville, with Pastor Kenny Hayes officiating. Burial will follow in the Lansing cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2007, at the Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville.

Thelma Mildred Kincaid Wilburn
KILSYTH — Thelma Mildred Kincaid Wilburn, 94, of Kilsyth, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 23, 2006, at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital following a short illness.
Born at Abraham on Dec. 3, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Estaline Vance Kincaid.
She was preceded in death by her late husband, Arthur Wilburn; a son, Robert L. Wilburn; three brothers, Mac, Pete and Charlie Kincaid; and sisters, Nellie Smith, Lizzy Stettler, Josie Kincaid, Rosetta Jenkins, Nannie Kincaid and Ocie Bennett.
Those left to cherish her memory are three sons, Harold Wilburn and wife, Yvette, of Beaver, Charles Wilburn and wife, Maleta, of Beaver and Gerald Wilburn and wife, Kim, of Mount Hope; four daughters, Shirley Coutts and husband, Dick, of Gettysburg, Pa., Mable Hardina and husband, Ben, of Dunnellon, Fla., Sandra Mullens and husband, Benny, of Christiansburg, Va., and Janice Smith of Mount Hope; a daughter-in-law, Carol Wilburn of White Oak; 21 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to extend special thanks to her caregiver Linda Suttle who cared for her for the past seven years.
Service was 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 26, at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel, Beckley, with the Rev. Mike King officiating. Burial followed in Calfee cemetery, Mount Tabor.
Friends called 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Mike Wilburn, Rich Coutts, Greg Wilburn, Artie Wilburn, Ben Mullins, Gerald Wilburn Jr. and Rick Hudson. Honorary pallbearers were Derick and Dylon Hudson, Joshua Wil-burn and Billy Wilson.

Don Henry Wilson
Don Henry Wilson, 54, of Glen View, died Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at his home following a short illness.
Born Sept. 7, 1948, at Crab Orchard, he was the son of Stella Perdue Wilson of Crab Orchard and the late Berman Wilson.
Mr. Wilson was a disabled coal miner. He was of the Church of God faith.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Willie Wilson; and a sister, Mary Wilson.
Survivors besides his mother include his wife of 29 years, Margaret Reed Wilson; a son, Don Edward Wilson of Glen View; three brothers, Thomas Wilson of Crab Orchard, Emory Wilson and wife, Starlene, of Mullens and Robert Wilson and wife, Karen, of Beckley; two sisters, Phyllis Moore and husband, David, of Maple Fork and Louella George and husband, Gary, of Crab Orchard; a sister-in-law, Tammy Wilson of Beckley; and many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews.
Service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel, Beckley, with the Rev. Orville Harvey officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.

Vera Ellen Adkins
Vera Ellen Adkins, 69, of Beckley, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2003, after a long illness.
Born May 27, 1934, at Stanaford, she was the daughter of the late Adam and Rachel Kamensky Wardensky.
Mrs. Adkins was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Walter Adkins; a son, Gary Adkins and wife, Yvonne, of Sandstone; a daughter, Sue Rose and husband, Robbie, of Lester; three sisters, Jo-ann Wardensky of North Carolina, Eva Williams of Florida and Ruth Lockard of Connecticut; three great-grandchildren, Jamie Adkins of Los Angeles, Calif., Christine Rose of Lester and Jonathan Rose of Lester; a stepgranddaughter, Jennifer Crostic; and a stepgrandson, R.J. Throckmorton.

Glenn A. Brinson
COTTLE - Glenn A. Brinson, 77, passed away after a long illness on Saturday, July 26, 2003, in the VA Medical Center in Beckley.
Born May 21, 1926, in Sipsey, Ala., he was the son of the late Troy and Norma K. Bookout Brinson.
Mr. Brinson was a disabled coal miner.
He faithfully served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict.
He was preceded in death by his oldest son, Rodney Wayne Brinson; three brothers, Herbert E., Ellis M. "Red," and Gilbert Delaney Brinson.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Lois Stover Brinson; two sons, Glenn A. and wife, Terri, and Russell E. and wife, Goldie; two daughters, Crystal E. and Shyronica L. "Shonnie"; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Charlotte Owens, Norma Jean Rosa and Katherine "Kitty"; and a brother, Troy Brinson.
Service will be 4 p.m. Saturday at Blue Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Beckley, with Brother Paul Allen officiating.

Bonnie Faye Crookshanks
KEIFFER - Bonnie Faye Crookshanks, 72, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2003, in Greenbrier Valley Medical Center in Fairlea following a long illness.
Born June 15, 1931, in Fayetteville, she was the daughter of the late John L. and Belle Rudd King.
Mrs. Crookshanks was a homemaker and a member of Beaver Creek Baptist Church in Keiffer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arvel Crookshanks; several brothers and sisters; and a great-grandchild.
Survivors include three sons, John "Rod" Crookshanks of Rupert, Ernest "Willie" Crookshanks of Keiffer and Jamie Malcomb of Rupert; two daughters, Charlene Wittebort of Rupert and Karen Crookshanks of Duo; a brother, Jim King of Crawley; a sister, Frances Carte of Rainelle; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Smathers Funeral Chapel, Rainelle, with Pastor Gary Eisenman officiating. Burial will follow in Burns cemetery, Keiffer.

Agnes L. Jones Dolsey
Agnes L. Jones Dolsey, 85, of Beckley, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 25, 2003.
Born Dec. 7, 1917, in Appomattox, Va., she was the daughter of the late Whitt Jones and Mary West Jones Wilkes.
Mrs. Dolsey was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, where she served as a member of the No. 2 Choir, No. 2 District Choir, Sunday School, Prayer Service and Bible Study until her health no longer permitted.
She worked for a series of geriatric care facilities in the Beckley area.
She married John Edward Dolsey in Slab Fork, and they were together for 54 years at the time of his death in 1989. From this union three daughters were born.
Her beloved brother, Manuel Jones, preceded Mrs. Dolsey in death in 1968.
She will be eternally missed by her brother, Daniel Jones of Detroit, Mich.; daughters, Alice Page, formerly of Louisville, Ky., E. Bernice Jackson of Beckley and Mary Ann (Homer) Patterson of Colorado Springs, Colo.; son, James E. Madison of Highland, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a niece; three nephews; and other relatives and a host of friends.
Service will be 1 p.m. today at New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Nathaniel Carey of New Hope Baptist Church and Dr. David McDowell of Ebenezer Baptist Church officiating. Entombment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Beckley.
Friends may visit two hours before service today at the church.
Members of the church will serve as pallbearers and flower bearers.

Darlene Tucker Hedgecock
STICKNEY - Darlene Tucker Hedgecock, 53, formerly of Beckley, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 30, 2003, at the home of her parents, Lee F. and Edith Bradley Tucker of Stickney, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Elmer and Martha Reed and Charles Henry and Oma Tucker.
Besides her parents, survivors include her three daughters, Julie Ranee Tolliver of Fairdale, Lisa Michelle Griffy of Naoma and Kelli Denise Tolliver of Brad-ley; two brothers, Terry Lee Tucker and wife, Ruth, of Rock Creek and Marty Kevin Tucker and wife, Tammy, of Beckley; three grandchildren, Joshua Griffy, Tristian Dickerson and Jordan Owens; special care helper, Ruth Tucker; and a host of friends.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Pineview cemetery, Orgas, with the Revs. David Cook and Jerry Brown officiating. Interment will follow.
Family and friends are to meet at 10:50 a.m. Saturday at the cemetery.

Anna Mae James
Anna Mae James, 69, of Prosperity, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, July 31, 2003, at Raleigh General Hospital.
Born July 1, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Jessie and Bertie Redden.
Mrs. James was a member of Prosperity Church of Christ.
Her grandchildren were the joy of her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Walter R. James; a sister, Betty Stanley; and a brother, Marcus Redden.
Survivors include her three loving daughters, Nellie Rose and husband, William, of Prosperity, Tammy Dunkley and husband, William, of Piney View and Ann Killen and husband, William, of Beckley; a brother, Kenneth Redden and wife, Ada, of Michigan; and eight precious grandchildren, Elizabeth Killen, Aaron Killen, Dustin Dunkley, Hannah Dunkley, Daniel Rose, David Rose, Abigail Rose and Rachael Rose.
Service will be 11 a.m. today at Peace Mausoleum No. 2, Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley, with the Pastor Roger E. Pauley officiating.
