PIPESTEM — Rodney Keith Wills, 50, of Pipestem, was set free of his pain and went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, Ap-ril 7, 2006, at his home following a long illness.
Born May 25, 1955, in Beckley, he was the son of Icie Pegram Wills of True and the late Sanford T. Wills.
Keith was a construction carpenter and was a member of the Carpenters Union at Shady Spring. Prior to his illness, he was an avid sportsman who loved farming, hunting and fishing. He was a very courageous and tough man with a very big heart. He was a special son, a beloved father, a dear brother, and extra special uncle, a beloved nephew and a wonderful friend.
Other than his father, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Dorothy Lilly Wills; and a nephew, John Mark Wills.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a son, Jeremy Wills of Pipestem; two daughters, Ruthie Presley of Letart and Brandi Wills of Talcott; a granddaughter, Riley Joe Taylor; three brothers, Jim Adkins of Streetsboro, Ohio, Benny Wills and wife, Jeannie, of Pipestem and John Wills and wife, LaVerne, of True; and a sister, Sissy Neely and husband, Walter, of True.
He will be sadly missed by all, including uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and a host of friends, including his best friend and caretaker, Linda Vest. (We love you, Keith.)
Service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel, Hinton, with Pastor Ralph Calfee officiating.
Friends may call 11 a.m. until time of service Monday at the funeral parlors.

Donald ‘Donnie’ Young
LILLY PARK – Donald ‘Donnie’ Young, 74, of Lilly Park, passed away Saturday, July 15, 2006, at the Veterans Medical Center in Beckley, following a long illness.
Born October 6, 1931 at Beckley, he was a son of the late Louis and Jennis Ball Young.
Donnie graduated from Marshall University in 1958, and was a retired school teacher, having taught at Crichton, Rupert, Rainelle, and Meadow Bridge schools. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, having served during the Korean War, and was a member of The First Baptist Church of Rainelle. Donnie was an award winning photographer and loved taking pictures.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Young.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Phyllis Allport Young of Rainelle; three daughters, Beverly Garten of Jacksonville, NC, Vicki Golden and husband Terry of Jacksonville, NC, and Dona Bunn and husband Vance of Huntington; a son, Donnie Young of Jacksonville, NC; a sister, Tommie Spade of Rainelle; a brother, Bob Young and wife Ilene of Elton, Md.; five grandchildren, Ronny Garten and wife Sarah, Jason Garten, Matthew Garten, and their father Ron, Ashley Golden Rikard and husband Chris, and Kelsey Golden; one great grandson, Peyton Douglas Rikard; extended family, Mildred and Jim Lively of Dawson, Terry and Vicki Sandford of Hines; several nieces and nephews; and many, many friends and former students.
Services will be 2 p.m. today at Wallace and Wallace Chapel in Rainelle, with Rev. Terry Golden officiating. Entombment will follow at Wallace Memorial Mausoleum, Clintonville.

Hazel Kerns Lafferty
MELBOURNE, Fla. - Hazel Kerns Lafferty, 84, of Laguna Vista Dr., formerly of Whitestick St., Beckley, died Tuesday, April 15, 2003, in a Melbourne care center following a long illness.
Born March 12, 1919, in Mingo County, she was the daughter of the late William and Ocie Alma McKnight Kerns.
Hazel spent her childhood in Mingo County. She and her last husband, John Lafferty Jr. resided on Whitestick St., for a number of years moving to Melbourne in 1958. She was of the Free Will Baptist faith. She was an avid Pompano fisherman on the Eaugallie causeway.
In addition to her husband, John, who preceded her in death in 1986 she was preceded in death by five sisters, Elizabeth McKinney, Easter O'Dell, Margaret and Mickey Spence and Mary Lou Lyons; three brothers also preceded her in death, Jess, Luther and Ed Kerns.
Survivors include a son, Harold James "Jim" Lafferty and his wife, Carolyn of Melbourne; two grandsons, Harold Lafferty Jr. and John "JC" Lafferty, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Melton Mortuary Chapel, 1200 Harper Road, Beckley, with Dr. David Carrico officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum, Beckley.

Larry B. McCallister
ANSTED - Larry B. McCallister, 68, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2003, at the Plateau Medical Center, Oak Hill.
Mr. McCallister was born May 4, 1934, at Decota, and was the son of the late Marshall and Evelyn Starkey McCallister.
Mr. McCallister was a member of the St. Pauls United Methodist Church at Ansted, a member of the Gauley Bridge VFW, the Ansted Knights of Pythia. He was a retired Army veteran serving in Vietnam. He was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a P.O.W.
Mr. McCallister had worked as a property manager for a housing development.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Scott McCallister.
Survivors include his wife, Carol of Ansted; a daughter, Kimberly Lewis of Charleston; six sons, Mickey McCallister of Wake Field, Kan., Mitchell McCallister of Kansas, Danny McCallister of Junction City, Kan., Larry McCallister of Gulf Shore, Ala., Marty McCallister of Kansas and Gregory Brewer of El Cajon, Calif.; a sister, Gloria Bounds of Mt. Lookout; 14 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home Chapel, Ansted, with the Rev. Billy Cornell officiating. Burial will follow in the Restlawn Memory Gardens, Victor, with the Gauley Bridge VFW performing military rites.

Dollie Bray McClanahan
SALISBURY, N.C. - Dollie Bray McClanahan, 91, formerly of Lively, died Saturday, April 19, 2003, at Genesis Elder Care of Salisbury, after being in declining health for two years.
Born Aug. 4, 1911, in Somerset, Ky., she was the daughter of the late George Bray and Dicie Mae Gilpin Nelms and stepfather, Charlie Nelms.
Mrs. McClanahan was educated in the Matoaka, school system. She had been employed as a dress maker before retiring. She was a member of the North Main Baptist Church.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, William McClanahan on May 9, 1965.
Survivors include three stepbrothers, Charles Nelms of Bristol, Tenn., Eddie Bray of Paintsville, Ohio and Howard Bray of Lakeland, Fla.; and four sisters, Leona Roach of Salisbury, N.C., Bertie Oaks of Pennington Gap, Va., Maxine Sawder of Miami, Fla. and Mildred McKinney of Wytheville, Va.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. today at Rowan Memorial Park with Dr. W. Dale Robertson, minister of North Main Baptist Church, officiating.

Florence Alice Pack
Florence Alice Pack, age 93, of Mount View Rd., Cool Ridge, died at her home Saturday, April 19, 2003, at 8:30 p.m. following a long illness.
Born on Feb. 6, 1910, at Hinton, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Allen Kincaid and Dora Belle Harris Kincaid.
She was a retired seamstress for a sewing factory, and attended the Mary Jane Methodist Church at Streeter.
Mrs. Pack was preceded in death by her husband, James Robert Pack; a son, Robert Kenneth Pack; a great grandson, Mark Robert Evans; and a brother, Cecil Ray Kincaid.
Surviving are a daughter, Dora Jean Conner and husband, Clifford of Cool Ridge; three granddaughters, Beverly D. Elkin of Cool Ridge, Benita G. Evans of Beckley and Beth A. Stafford of Cool Ridge; a sister, Irene M. Pack of Cool Ridge; and three great-grandchildren, Heather M. Sturgill, Kevin M. Thompson and Brandon C. Worley.
Services will be 1 p.m. today at the Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home Shady Spring Chapel with the Rev. Robert Barley officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount View cemetery at Mount View.

FAYETTEVILLE - Brenda Joyce Stark Patrick, 63, of Route 1, died Sunday, April 20, 2003, at Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley following a long illness.
Born Jan. 7, 1940, at Minden, she was the daughter of the late Walter E. and Nora Lee Treadway Stark.
Mrs. Patrick was an employee for Roche Laboratory and a member of the Gatewood Church of God, Gatewood.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Irene Preston, Hilda Light, Rosella Oatridge and Mozelle Grablick; and two brothers, Raymond and Neal Stark.
Survivors include her husband, Robert "Bob" Patrick; a son, Greg Patrick and wife, Teresa of Fayetteville; two daughters, Kristy Bragg and husband, David Jr. of Oak Hill and Misty Britt and husband, Michael of Laurel Hill, N.C.; a brother, Jimmy Stark of Evansville, Ind.; a sister, Aretta Church of Indianapolis, Ind.; and three grandchildren, Molly Britt, Kayla Patrick and David Bragg III.

Eva G. Willis
Eva G. Willis, 76, of Glen View, died Sunday, April 20, 2003, at Raleigh General Hospital following a short illness.
Born Aug. 2, 1926, at Glen White, she was the daughter of the late Everett Snuffer and Magdeline Mutter Snuffer.
Mrs. Willis was a homemaker and a member of the Glen View Independent Church.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Darrell R., Isaac, Roy, and Tommy Snuffer; and two sisters, Donna Edwards and Ruth Harris.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, James A. Willis; a son, James E. Willis and wife, Delores Ann of Winchester, Ky.; a daughter, Rebecca Back and her husband, William of Crab Orchard; and grandchildren, Keith Willis, Jennifer Alimento, Seth Scott and Brooke Back.

FAYETTEVILLE - Violet Daisy Hubbard Wilson, 82, of Route 2, died Saturday, April 19, 2003, at Heartland of Charleston, Charleston following a short illness.
Born March 7, 1921, at Spanishburg, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Dorothy Hatcher Hubbard.
Mrs. Wilson was a homemaker and a member of the Kincaid United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Avril Owen Wilson; two brothers, Carlos and Mason Hubbard; and three sisters, Hazel James, Josie Canterbury and Vira Day.
Survivors include a son, Bill Wilson and wife, Melissa of Oak Hill; a halfsister, Ethel Brown of Kincaid; two grandsons, Ryan Wilson of Oak Hill and Brett Wilson of Oak Hill; and a granddaughter, Erin Crumb of Oak Hill.
