TEGA CAY, S.C. - Elaine Schneeberger Rapp, 52, of 29013 Silver Fox, formerly of Daniels, died Monday, Oct. 9, 2000, at her home.
Mrs. Rapp was born Nov. 8, 1947, in LaCrosse, Wis.
During the Vietnam War, she served in the U.S. Army as a nurse. She and her husband moved from Daniels in 1988 to Tega Cay. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Donald Fredrick Rapp; two sons, Bryan Benjamin Rapp of Richmond, Va., and Derek Nicholas Rapp, a student at West Virginia University in Morgantown; her parents, George W. Schneeberger and Alyce B. Schneeberger of LaCrosse; a brother, Don Schneeberger of Mequon, Wis.; and two sisters, Alyce Jane Wehrenberg of LaCrosse and Mary Ellen Bambrick of Charlottesville, Va.
A memorial mass will be 7 p.m. Friday at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church with Father John Giuliani officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service. The family wishes to thank their friends from West Virginia, their church community, neighbors and co-workers for their many prayers and support. Louisa M. Redmond
CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. - Louisa Mae Barley Redmond, 74, passed away Monday, Oct. 9, 2000, at Montgomery Regional Hospital.
Born April 9, 1926, in Welch, she was the daughter of the late Felix and Anna Dirienzo Barley.
Mrs. Redmond was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Blacksburg, Va., and of Catholic Daughters of the Americas.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Christina Barley.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Edward James Redmond; two sons and daughters-in-law, James Edward and Debbie Redmond of Welch and Edward John and Amy Redmond, of Lansing, N.Y.; a daughter and a son-in-law, Patricia Anna and Jerry Beckett of Middlesboro, Ky; and eight grandchildren, Jimmy, Amy, Todd, Michael, Bethany, Kimberly, Vincent and Kelsey.
A rosary service will be 7 p.m. today at Horne Funeral Chapel, 1300 N. Franklin St., Christiansburg. Funeral mass will be 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, conducted by Father James M. Arsenault. Interment will be 2 p.m. Friday at Monte Vista Memorial Park, Bluefield.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the American Heart Association.
SCARBRO - Thomas Elmer Shrout, 83, died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2000, at Plateau Medical Center, Oak Hill, following a long illness.
Born Sept. 30, 1917, in Claremont, he was the son of the late Buckner and Ophelia Ramsey Shrout.
Mr. Shrout was retired from C&V Mining as a truck driver.
He was a member of the Holliness faith and a member of the UMWA and Black Lung Association.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Belle Jackson Shrout; and three brothers, Chester, Edward and Carl Shrout.
Survivors include three brothers, Charles Shrout and Noel Shrout, both of Mount Hope, and George Galen Shrout of Craigsville; two sisters, Beth Martin of Mount Hope and Mary Hildred Wood of Birch River; several nieces and nephews, including niece and caregiver Clara Thorne and her husband, Johnny, of Scarbro.
Services will be 1 p.m. today at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill, with Pastor Jerry Bush officiating. Burial will follow in Nuttall cemetery, Edmond.
Friends may call noon until time of services at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Benji Conner, Emory Martin, Scotty Shrout, Rusty Wood, Nathaniel Wood and Jimmy Conner.

LEWISBURG - Eva Maude Wiley, 93, died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2000, at Greenbrier Manor Nursing Home, Fairlea.
Born Aug. 30, 1907, in Danville, Va., she was the daughter of the late Albert G. and Ida DeHart Wood.
Mrs. Wiley was a member of Lewisburg United Methodist Church and Church Circle, and was a retired school teacher.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Day Wiley; two sons, Jimmie Wiley and Ted Wiley; two sisters; and three brothers.
Survivors include two sons, John W. Wiley of Rockville, Md., and Thomas L. Wiley of Gaithersburg, Md.; a sister, Janet Jeffries of Lewisburg; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - Patricia Susan Bevins Zastawniak, 51, of 3411 Sherwood Blvd., died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2000, at Hospice and Home Care By the Sea following an extended illness.
Mrs. Zastawniak was a real estate broker and condominium manager, and was a member of the Palm Beach County Realtors Association.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Alice "Roberta" Bevins; and two brothers, Bill "Brother" Bevins and Gary "Pee Wee" Bevins.
Survivors include her husband, Michael Zastawniak; her father, Bill Bevins of Clay; a son, Robert W. Zastawniak of Elkins; two daughters, Michelle McGuire of Galveston, Texas, and Shonda Rae Zastawniak of Summersville; a brother, Terry Bevins of Lizemores; two sisters, Jerri Murphy of Wooster, Ohio, and Nancy Bailey of Milton; two grandsons, Lloyd Michael and Aaron William Zastawniak, both of Elkins; seven nieces; a nephew; and a list of friends too numerous to mention all over the world.

KOPPERSTON - Inez Lillian Cook, 82, went to be with her Lord Saturday, Nov. 18, 2000 in a Charleston hospital following a short illness.
Born Dec. 25, 1917, in Oceana, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Latha Allen Lafferty.
Mrs. Cook was a homemaker, a lifelong resident of Wyoming County, and a member of Toneda Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Erie Cook, Sr.; three sisters; two brothers; one son-in-law, Sam Dillon, and one grandchild, Carolyn.
Survivors include four sons, Jack Bailey and his wife Angela of Kopperston, Charles Cook of Kopperston, Carlos Cook and his wife Sharon of Oceana, and Lloyd "Jabo" Cook, Jr. and his wife Kay of Wichita, Kan.; one daughter, Jeannette Dillon and Calvin Willard of Kopperston; one sister, Vadis Cook of Kopperston; 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21 at Toneda Missionary Baptist Church, Kopperston, with the Rev. Dewight Stafford officiating. Burial will follow in Kopperston Community cemetery, Kopperston.
