Andrea I. Jenkins
BUNKER HILL, W.Va. - Andrea I. Jenkins, 58, of Bunker Hill, died Tuesday, July 28, 1998, at City Hospital.
Born Dec. 16, 1939, in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of Andre Bandel of Inwood, W.Va. and the late Irene Lilly Bandel.
She retired as a customer service representative for Heatwole Hearing Aid Center in Hagerstown.
In addition to her father, she is survived by two sons, David Jenkins of Kearneysville, W.Va., and Marcus Jenkins of Inwood; and a grandchild.
Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg, W.Va. The Rev. William C. Crowe will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Harvey Walling
HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Harvey "Slim" Walling, 84, of Hedgesville, died Monday, July 27, 1998, at City Hospital in Martinsburg, W.Va.
He was the son of the late Joseph and Carrie E. Mongan Walling.
He was a retired machinist with B&O Railroad.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army.
He was a Christian.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Frances Hanna Walling of Hedgesville; a daughter, Shirley Ann Barrow of Fort Shaw, Mont; two sons, Stephen R. Walling Sr. of Hedgesville and Thomas E. Walling of Mission Viejo, Calif.; a half sister, Mary Jeanette Johnston of Mount Airy, Md.; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, James R. Walling; a brother, John Walling; and a half sister, Agnes Pifer Webster.
Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Rosedale Funeral Chapel in Martinsburg. Stephen R. Walling Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
Friends may call at the funeral home today and Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Gary E. Staubs
HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - Gary Edward Staubs, 17, of Harpers Ferry, died Tuesday, July 28, 1998, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Ranson, W.Va.
Born May 15, 1981, in Ranson, he was the son of Jerry Edward Staubs and Sandra Janine Miller, both of Harpers Ferry.
He was being educated through Jefferson County home schooling.
He was a Baptist.
He is survived by paternal grandparents, Woodrow "Son" and Thelma M. Reedy Staubs of Harpers Ferry; maternal grandmother, Mary Lou Miller of Triangle, Va.; a sister, Christina Lynne Shenton of Harpers Ferry; two brothers, Claud Eujean Staubs and Jerry David Staubs, both of Harpers Ferry; aunts, uncles, nieces and cousins.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town, W.Va. Burial will be in St. Andrews on the Mount cemetery, Harpers Ferry.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
William S. Eagle
CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - William Samuel Eagle, 84, of 114 Porter Way, died Tuesday, July 28, 1998, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Ranson, W.Va.
Born Dec. 25, 1913, in Knoxville, Md., he was the son of the late Samuel and Nellie Virts Eagle.
He was a retired construction engineer with Fairfax County, Va.
He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Charles Town.
He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 948, Charles Town.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Virts Eagle; a daughter, Suzanne Eagle Dillow of Charles Town; a son, Jeffrey Eagle of Purcellville, Va.; a sister, Lois Humphrey of Monterey, Calif.; three brothers, Thomas Eagle of Woodstock, Va., and Harvey Eagle and James Eagle, both of Knoxville; three granddaughters; a grandson; and a great-grandson.
Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Eackles-Spencer Funeral Home, Harpers Ferry, W.Va. The Rev. James W. Chambly Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Reformed cemetery, Middletown, Md.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., and Friday one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - John Lewis Shirley, 52, of Berkeley Springs, died Tuesday, July 28, 1998, at Morgan County War Memorial Hospital.
Born July 24, 1946, in Berkeley County, he was the son of the late John Virgil and Prudence Michael Shirley.
He was employed as a mechanic and truck driver.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce G. Shade Shirley; one daughter, Lisa Shirley at home; and one son, John Shirley at home.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Hunter-Anderson Funeral Home, 106 S. Mercer St., Berkeley Springs. The Rev. Hennis Fox will officiate. Private burial will be in Spohrs Crossroads.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Elizabeth A. Leber, 69, of Martinsburg, died Tuesday, July 28, 1998, at City Hospital.
Born Jan. 29, 1929, in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late Julian and Lillie Mae Taylor.
She attended Family Life Church of God.
She is survived by her husband, Howard J. Leber; two sisters and a brother.
Services will be held today at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of Pleasant View Memory Gardens in Martinsburg. The Rev. Earl Litman will officiate. Entombment will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.

Jerome S. Hemler
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Jerome Stephen Hemler, 77, of 207 Jackson Road, died Tuesday, July 28, 1998, at his home.
Born Nov. 26, 1920, in Owings Mills, Md., he was the son of the late Stephen T. and Mary Catherine Schemm Hemler.
He was employed at Security Ford Tractor in Halethorpe, Md., retiring in 1986.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army.
He attended St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Hagerstown and was a member of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church in Randallstown, Md.
He is survived by his wife, Elinor R. Ensor Hemler; a son, Joseph R. Hemler Sr. of Falling Waters, W.Va.; a sister, Regina A. Stephens of Baltimore; two grandsons; and a great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Leo C. Hemler.
Graveside services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Lake View Memorial Park in Eldersburg, Md. The Rev. Patrick Tonry will officiate.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport, which will be open after 9 a.m.
