MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Mary Peck Botti, 92, formerly of Martinsburg, died Wednesday, July 15, 1998, at National Health Care Nursing Home, Plant City, Fla.
Born Oct. 5, 1905, in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Laura Kitchen Peck.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Raymond Botti, in 1991.
She was a graduate of Martinsburg High School and Brenau Girls College in Gainesville, Ga., where she received a bachelor of arts degree in English. She was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Martinsburg, and continued her church work in Florida.
She is survived by a niece, Deborah Peck of Martinsburg.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ida May Dussault and Helen Peck Hildreth; and two brothers, Thomas Peck and Elmer Peck.
Graveside services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Rosedale cemetery. The Rev. Robert S. Hill Jr. will officiate.

Ruth H. Iden
BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Ruth Helen Iden, 86, of Berkeley Springs, died Friday, July 17, 1998, at her home.
Born July 12, 1912, in Needmore, Pa., she was the daughter of the late William Warner and Carrie Suffecool Hewett.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alston Boyd Iden, in 1988.
She attended North Berkeley School, Berkeley Springs.
She worked as a looper at Interwoven Hosiery Mill, Berkeley Springs. She worked at the polls during elections. She was a homemaker.
For more than 50 years, she was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Berkeley Springs, where she had served as a Sunday School teacher and pianist. She was a member of Ladies Aid Society of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she served as treasurer.
She is survived by a son, J.D. Iden of Woodbine, Md.; four daughters, Anna Marie Somers of Fallston, Md., Peggy Michael and Barbara Yost, both of Berkeley Springs, and Carol Sue Sterling of Rock Hill, S.C.; a sister, Clara Emma Speilman of Fort Pierce, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Darlene Iden and Patty Iden; a grandson, Chris Iden; six sisters, Sadie Rankin, Olive Hewett, Mary Litten, Adelaide Kunkleman, Lucille Iden and Marguerite Whittington, and six brothers, Clydet, John, Wade, Lee, Clarence and Fred Hewett.
Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, Harrison Avenue at Goff Street, Berkeley Springs. Pastor Wayne Frum will officiate. Burial will be in Greenway cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 306 Union St., Berkeley Springs, which will be open today from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and Monday one hour prior to services at the church.

Kenneth P. Mayes
RIDGELEY, W.Va. - Kenneth Paige Mayes, 82, of Carpendale, died Saturday, July 18, 1998, at Dawnview Manor Nursing Home, Fort Ashby, W.Va.
Born Dec. 14, 1915, in Shenandoah, Va., he was the son of the late Samuel A. and Etta Volt Mayes.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Louise Wilson Myers.
He retired after 40 years of service from Western Maryland Railway as a machinist.
He was a veteran of World War II and served with the U.S. Navy.
He was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church, Hagerstown.
He was a member of Dixon Troxell American Legion Post 211, Funkstown.
He is survived by his second wife, Wreatha L. Phillips Mayes; one son, Richard P. Mayes of Beverly, W.Va.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, Thomas A. Mayes.
Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. Burial will be in Rest Haven cemetery, Hagerstown. Military graveside services will be conducted by Morris Frock American Legion Post 42.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Donald J. Johnson
HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Donald John Johnson, 71, of Hedgesville, died Saturday, July 18, 1998, at City Hospital, Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born July 5, 1927, in North Dakota, he was the son of the late Andrew John and Tilda Tragedon Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joan Hoover Johnson, in 1990.
He earned his bachelor's degree in civil engineering from North Dakota State University in Fargo, N.D.
He retired from the Department of Transportation, State of Illinois as a civil engineer after 38 years of service.
He was a veteran of World War II and served with the U.S. Navy.
He was a member of Independent Bible Church.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn "Mosby" Parsons Johnson; six sons, Eugene Donald Johnson of Phoenix, Galen Andrew Johnson of Narragansett, R.I., Dwayne Lee Johnson of Monticello, Iowa, the Rev. Mark Darrell Johnson of Martinsburg, Timothy Scott Johnson of Waco, Texas, and Arne Paul Johnson of Grayslake, Ill.; two sisters, Jenny Kruse of Montevideo, Minn., and Phyllis Stordahl of Spooner, Wis.; one brother, Hubert Johnson of Phoenix; and 12 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Wallace Johnson and Lowell Johnson.
A memorial service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Independent Bible Church, Martinsburg. The Rev. Curt T. Lowry will officiate.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Community Bible Church, Paris, Ill. The Rev. David LaBorde will officiate. Burial will be in Edgar cemetery, Paris.
The family will receive friends at Community Bible Church one hour prior to the service Thursday.

NICEVILLE, Fla. - Earl M. Wintermoyer, 84, of Niceville, died Wednesday, July 15, 1998, at his home.
Born Nov. 16, 1913, in Hedgesville, W.Va., he was the son of the late John J. and Sarah Fuss Wintermoyer.
He retired from Elgin as an engineer working for Civil Service.
He was a veteran of World War II and served as a captain with the U.S. Army.
He was active at First United Methodist Church, Niceville.
He taught violin.
He is survived by eight nieces and nephews; many great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles F. Wintermoyer and John P. Wintermoyer.
Graveside services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Hedgesville cemetery. The Rev. William C. Crowe will officiate.

KEARNEYSVILLE, W.Va. - Robert Lee Durham, 43, of Kearneysville, died Monday, July 20, 1998, at his home.
He was the son of Robert N. and Evelyn Harrison Durham of Darlington, Md.
He was a retired train conductor for CSX Railroad, Brunswick, Md.
He was a member of Covenant Baptist Church, Shepherdstown, W.Va.
He was a member of Moose Lodge in Charles Town, W.Va.; Izaak Walton League in Leetown, W.Va.; B&O Veterans; and Jefferson County Right to Life. He was a retired secretary and treasurer of United Transportation Union Local 631.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Carol L. Atkins Durham; five daughters, Heather Durham and Brooke Durham, both at home, Christina Durham of Martinsburg, W.Va., Sharon Durham of Charles Town, and Michele Durham of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sisters, Jean Augustyniak of White Marsh, Md., and Gerry Jones of Bradshaw, Md.; four grandsons; a nephew, Bernard Atkins Jr., who resided with the family; and other nephews and nieces.
Services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Rosedale Funeral Chapel, Martinsburg. Pastor Mike Lowery will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home today from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Lester A. Bishop
BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Lester Allen Bishop, 43, of Berkeley Springs, died Sunday, July 19, 1998, at his home.
Born March 29, 1955, in Fulton County, Pa., he was the son of Marshall Bishop of Warfordsburg, Pa., and the late Helen Russell Bishop.
He attended Southern Fulton schools.
He was a laborer and handyman.
He attended Black Oak Mennonite Church in Fulton County.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Melody Jewel Holliday Bishop; a son, Justin Storm Bishop of Hancock; a sister, Ellen Russell of Queens, N.Y.; two brothers, David Bishop of Scotland, Pa., and Donald Bishop of Flickerville, Pa.; two grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held today at 11:30 a.m. at Mount Nebo cemetery, Great Cacapon, W.Va.
