MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Kylie Nicole Tinsman, newborn daughter of John D. and Barbara Bradshaw Tinsman of Martinsburg, died Tuesday, June 16, 1998, at Fairfax Women and Childrens Center, Falls Church, Va.
She was born June 16, 1998, at City Hospital, Martinsburg.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by one brother, David Nicholas Tinsman, at home; paternal grandparents, Ernest C. and Dorothy M. Tinsman Jr. of Martinsburg; maternal grandmother, Cora Bradshaw of Martinsburg; paternal great-grandmother, Reva Kerns of Cross Junction, Va.; two uncles; and eight aunts.
She was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Caldwell D. Bradshaw.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Rosedale Funeral Chapel. Pastor Don Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery.
Sharon L. Kern
CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Sharon Lorraine Kern, 49, of 115 Mordington Manor, died Wednesday, June 17, 1998, at University of Maryland Hospital, Baltimore.
Born Oct. 4, 1948, in Harpers Ferry, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late James Edwin Dunn Sr. and Annie Keesecker Dunn.
She was an employee of John's Family Restaurant, Rippon, W.Va.
She was of the Protestant faith.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald L. Kern Sr.; three daughters, Rebecca J. Kern Fridley and Brenda L. Kern, both of Charles Town, and Tamara L. Kern, at home; one son, Ronald L. Kern III of Ranson, W.Va.; two sisters, Donna Jean Miller of Harpers Ferry and Melissa D. Kain of Shenandoah Junction, W.Va.; two brothers, James E. Dunn Jr. of Martinsburg and Donald L. Dunn Sr. of Ranson; and five grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Eakles-Spencer Funeral Home, Harpers Ferry. The Rev. Daniel L. Montague III will officiate. Burial will be in Samples Manor cemetery, Samples Manor, Md.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Olive Hobart Sands, 96, of Martinsburg, died Wednesday, June 17, 1998, at Heartland of Martinsburg.
Born Feb. 26, 1902, in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Harry and Elizabeth Coger Hobart.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Courtland G. Sands.
She is survived by one son, John H. Sands of Martinsburg; and two grandchildren.
Services and burial will be private in Stamford, Conn.

HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - June D. Catlett, 71, of Tomahawk, Route 4, Hedgesville, died Wednesday, June 17, 1998, at her home.
Born July 24, 1926, in Morgan County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late George and Nellie Michael Kesecker.
She was a 1943 graduate of Hedgesville High School.
She was a member of Hedgesville Assembly of God Church.
She is survived by her husband, Malcolm S. Catlett; two daughters, Sonja R. Pensiero and Crystal M. Hlubb, both of Hedgesville; four sons, Malcolm S. Catlett of Laurel, Md., V. Kenton Catlett, Timothy A. Catlett and Troy L. Catlett, all of Hedgesville; two sisters, Rosetta Bayer of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Loette Brichner of Hedgesville; one brother, Victor Kesecker of Martinsburg; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandson; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. Louis Whitford will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.

Garnett L. Brown
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Garnett L. Brown, 82, of Martinsburg died Wednesday, June 17, 1998, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Martinsburg.
Born Oct. 31, 1915, in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late Walter and Flora Engle Brown.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Louise Ingram Brown.
He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service.
A second lieutenant in the U.S. Army during World War II, he received the Silver and Bronze stars. He was a member of the 201st Infantry Association.
He was a 74-year member of Otterbein United Methodist Church; a member of the Men's Bible Class, Administrative Council and Board of Trustees.
He was a Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 58 at Otterbein UMC. He was a member of the American Legion and Newton D. Baker Post 896, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by two sons, Walter L. Brown of Martinsburg and Jeffrey Brown of Hagerstown; and one sister, Elizabeth Rife of Martinsburg.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Howard Brown.
A memorial service will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Otterbein United Methodist Church, 549 N. Queen St., Martinsburg. The Rev. William E. Merki will officiate. Private burial will be in Rosedale cemetery.

UVILLA, W.Va. - Daniel Russell Nichols Sr., 99, of Uvilla, died Wednesday, June 17, 1998, at his home.
Born Sept. 3, 1898, in Uvilla, he was the son of the late David Tobias and Ellen Nora Link Nichols.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Virginia Maddox Nichols, in 1979.
He owned and operated a dairy farm for more than 60 years in the Uvilla area.
He was a member of Uvilla United Methodist Church, where he was the oldest living member.
He was a member of Maryland-Virginia Dairy Association.
He is survived by two daughters, Joyce Jean Moore of Sterling Park, Va., and Clarissa "Kye" Sands of Harpers Ferry, W.Va.; a son, Daniel "Danny" R. Nichols Jr. of Charles Town, W.Va.; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one niece.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Esther Shirley; and one brother, Edgar Nichols.
Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town. The Rev. Donna Herritt will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens, Martinsburg, W.Va.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Rita Frances Williams, 71, of the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Martinsburg, died Tuesday, June 16, 1998, at the medical center.
Born Nov. 22, 1926, in Kearneysville, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late George W. and Jeanette Linaweaver Ambrose Sr.
She was a 1943 graduate of Shepherdstown High School; a graduate of U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps of the West Baltimore General Hospital School of Nursing; and a graduate of West Virginia University, with a bachelor of science degree in nursing education.
She served in the U.S. Navy Women's Nurse Corps during the Korean War.
She retired as a registered nurse.
She was a member of Kearneysville Grace Reform Church.
She was a volunteer at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
She is survived by two sisters, Mary Lou Banks Viger of Shepherdstown, W.Va., and Josephine Wall of Des Moines, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by one brother, George W. Ambrose Jr.

Born Aug. 19, 1928, in Sharpsburg, he was the son of the late Walter Roy and Charlotte Buzzard Jamison.
He retired from Corning Glass.
He was a member of Inwood United Methodist Church.
He was a life member of South Berkeley Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Williams Jamison; one daughter, Kathy Paddock of Shepherdstown, W.Va.; and one sister, Frances C. Jamison of Sharpsburg.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Ardella Jamison.

Born in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Harry and Grace Herrell Barrow.
He retired as supervisor from Farmers Insurance Co., Irvine Hospital, in California.
He served as a medic in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a member of Church of Christ.
He was a member of American Legion Post 71.
He is survived by his wife, Cassie Murray Barrow; two daughters, Janice N. Branett of Charles Town and Frankie C. Snowden of Martinsburg, W.Va.; two sons, Donald H. Barrow of Martinsburg and Danny R. Barrow of Hollywood, Md.; one brother, S. Raymond Barrow of Baltimore; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Barrow.
