MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Ada Lee Catlett Crim, 92, of Martinsburg, died Saturday, June 13, 1998, at her home.
Born Sept. 5, 1905, in Whitacre, Va., she was the daughter of the late William and Adlone Bennett Catlett.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Bruce Martin Crim, in 1996.
She retired in 1980, from C.H. Musselman Plant, Inwood, W.Va., after 40 years of service.
She was a member of Butler's Chapel United Methodist Church.
She is survived by one son, Vernon B. Catlett of Martinsburg; one sister, Hilda Catlett of Sunny Side, Va.; six grandchildren, including Harold "Benny" Bender, whom she raised; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Betty Bender; two sisters, Chloe Moore and Della Freshour; and two brothers.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. Jerry Lowans will officiate. Burial will be in Wesley Chapel cemetery, Whitacre, Va.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Alice R. Mason
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Alice Rebecca Caskey Mason, 98, of Heartland Nursing Home, died Saturday, June 13, 1998, at Heartland.
Born March 26, 1900, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Charles H. Caskey and Rose Kline Caskey Kost.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. Mason Jr.
She attended local schools.
She was a homemaker.
She was a 50-year member of St. Johns Lutheran Church, Martinsburg.
She is survived by three daughters, Betty Wason Calahan, Nell Mason Hesse and Jane Mason Bryarly, all of Martinsburg; three granddaughters, Cheryl Glover Harper of Sparks, Nev., Nancy Bryarly Smallwood of Bedington, W.Va., and Mary Bryarly Miller of Martinsburg; two grandsons, Terry F. Glover and Rodney D. Hesse, both of Martinsburg; four great-granddaughters; eight great-grandsons; eight stepgranddaughters; two stepgrandsons; one great-great-grandson; one great-great-granddaughter; and one niece.
Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Rosedale Funeral Chapel. The Rev. James Riley will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery.

Lola M. McCumbee
BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Lola Mae McCumbee, 64, of Berkeley Springs, died Sunday, June 14, 1998, at her home.
Born March 10, 1934, in Sir Johns Run, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Betty Bohrer McBee.
Her husband, Cecil Sylvester "Rammer" McCumbee, died in 1990.
She attended Sir Johns Run School and Berkeley Springs High School.
She retired as a supervisor with London Fog Manufacturing in Hancock in 1994.
She was a Protestant.
She was a member of Women of the Moose Chapter 1311 in Berkeley Springs.
She is survived by a daughter, Sherry Pritchard of Berkeley Springs; three sons, Danny McCumbee, Rusty McCumbee and Terry McCumbee, all of Berkeley Springs; a stepdaughter, Patricia Hixon of Buck Valley, Pa.; a stepson, Cecil "Dick" McCumbee of Berkeley Springs; two sisters, Evelyn Barker of Berkeley Springs and Eileen Ward of Jessup, Md.; three brothers, Charles McBee of Mount Rainier, Md., Ernest McBee of Paris, Tenn., Leon McBee of Seattle; her companion, Richard Spielman of Berkeley Springs; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a stepson, William McCumbee; and a sister, Genevieve McBee.
Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 306 Union St., Berkeley Springs. The Rev. Rodney C. Truax will officiate. Burial will be in Greenway cemetery in Berkeley Springs.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral home will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. today.

INWOOD, W.Va. - Charles E. "Chummy" Miller Jr., 76, of Inwood, died Saturday, June 13, 1998, at City Hospital in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born July 28, 1921, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Charles E. and Stella J. Collis Miller Sr.
He retired from the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg.
He was a member of Triluminar Lodge 117, AF & AM, Middleway, W.Va., and Valley of Wheeling, Scottish Rite.
He is survived by a sister, Nora L. "Jackie" Mitchell of Martinsburg; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy E. Hardy and Pearl M. Elms; and two brothers, Raymond W. Miller and John B. Miller.
Services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg. The Rev. John E. Wright will officiate. Burial will be in Central Chapel cemetery in Hedgesville, W.Va.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va - Max G. Stout Jr., 65, of Martinsburg, died Monday, June 15, 1998, at his home, under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.
Born Dec. 12, 1932, in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late Max G. and Blanche Kerrick Stout.
He retired from Mack Trucks Inc. after 21 years.
A U.S. Navy veteran, he served during the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Margaret Ann Farmer Stout; one daughter, Cheryl A. Stout-Kozik of Valley Grove, W.Va.; two sons, Steven C. Stout I of Elgin, S.C. and Michael T. Stout of Martinsburg; two sisters, Maxine Stout-Helburn of Indiana and Sharon Stout-Meacham of North Carolina; three brothers, Michael Stout of Indiana, John Stout and Roger Stout, both of Florida; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Elsie Stout; and an infant brother, Patrick Stout.

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Doris Elaine Champion, 73, of Charles Town, died Sunday, June 14, 1998, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Ranson, W.Va.
Born Nov. 5, 1924, in Washington D.C., she was the daughter of the late Richard S. and Florence Reiger Tryon.
She was a retired owner of thoroughbred race horses, having raced at Charles Town Races, Penn National and Atlantic City tracks.
She was of the Catholic faith.
She was a former member of Charles Town Division of HBPA.
She is survived by her husband Clarence Paul Champion Jr.; two sons, C. Paul Champion III of Upper Marlboro, Md., and Tim Champion of Stevensville, Md.; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Richard Scott Champion, in 1990.
Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, 310 Fairfax Blvd., Charles Town. The Rev. James Chambly will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick, Md.
Friends will be received Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. before the service at the funeral home.
Carl L. Frazer
LAGRANGE, Ga. - Carl L. Frazer, 79, of New Franklin Road, formerly of Blue Ridge Summit, Pa., died Monday, June 15, 1998, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Martinsburg, W.Va., from injuries sustained in a May 28 auto accident.
Born Feb. 18, 1919, in Wheeling, W.Va., he was the son of the late Arthur W. and Evalyn Myers Frazer.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Elizabeth Bowman Frazer, in 1962; and by his second wife, Wilma Parson Frazer, in 1992.
He owned and operated Frazer Bus Service in Waynesboro, Pa., in the 1940s. He also worked for Landis Tool Co. He later worked at Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, Pa., as an inspector. In the 1950s and 1960s he owned and operated several car lots in the Waynesboro area.
He helped start the Pen Mar United Brethren Church in Pen Mar in the late 1940s.
He had been a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps.
He is survived by two sons, Larry M. Frazer of Jacksonville, Fla., and Carl A. Frazer of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; three sisters, Dorothy E. McCleaf of Blue Ridge Summit, Pa., Betty J. Brown of Upper Marlboro, Md., and Mary S. Lobingier of Gettysburg, Pa.; two brothers, Paul Frazer of Gettysburg and Ben "Frankie" Frazer of Dothan, Ala.; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly Hardman; one sister, Alice Mellott; four brothers, Arthur Frazer, Ronald Frazer, Robert Frazer and Frederick Frazer; and three grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. Raymond E. Jones will officiate. Burial will be in Bethel Church cemetery, Cascade.

INWOOD, W.Va. - Norwood E. "Red" Gray Sr., 64, of Inwood, formerly of Forestburgh, N.Y., died Monday, June 15, 1998, at his home.
Born May 5, 1934, in Louisville, Ky., he was the son of Christina Gray of Louisville and the late John Gray.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna J. Gray.
He was a charter member of Forestburgh Fire Department and an area scoutmaster and former caretaker of Forestburgh Scout Reservation.
He is survived by one daughter, Edna Aliene Washington of Monticello, N.Y.; four sons, Norwood E. Gray Jr. of Arkansas, Ernie Gray of Pennsylvania, Joe Gray and Roy Gray, both of Monticello; four sisters, Delores Lewis of West Virginia, Shelby Jean Harrison, Carolyn Hardy and Roxanne May, all of Louisville; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
