Surviving: sisters, Lucy Triplett of Tiro, Ohio and Margie Oliver of Delaware, Ohio; brother, Richard Stutler of Marysville, Ohio; children, Mark Thornton of Hurricane, Nelliejane Haverland of Hurricane, Robert Barnett of Vancouver, Washington , Mike Scott of Peabody, Massachusetts, and Deanna Fisher of Centreville, Maryland; grandchildren, Bill Patterson of Kingsbay, Georgia, Jim Patterson of Buford, Georgia, Nancy Joplin of Hurricane, John Thornton of Hurricane, and Chris Haverland of Hurricane; great-grandchildren, Sarah Shabdue of Cross Lanes, Abram Joplin of Hurricane and Bill Patterson III of Hurricane; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Friday, April 23, 2004 at Valley View Memorial Park, Hurricane. Allen Funeral Home, Hurricane, was in charge of arrangements.

Kathleen Thomas, 78, of Lanham, Poca died April 22, 2004, in CAMC General Hospital.
She was the daughter of the late Ollie and Bertha Goff.
She attended Victory Baptist Church.
Surviving: her husband of 55 years, Garl E. Thomas; children, Joann White and husband, Danny, of Culloden, Ronald Thomas and wife, Carolyn, of Poca; sisters, Priscilla Graves of Florida and Velva Thomas of Poca; brother, Leonard Goff of Pliny; grandsons, Sean White , Matt Thomas and Eric White ; great-grandchildren, Ashton White and Austin White .
Graveside service and burial was held Saturday, April 24, 2004, in Thomas Cemetery, Poca River Road, with Pastor Brent Null officiating. Gatens Funeral Home, Poca, was in charge of arrangements.
Henry S. Henson
Henry S. Henson, 60, of Winfield died April 24, 2004, at home following a short illness.
He graduated from Hurricane High School and attended Morris Harvey College. He was vice president of Henson Brothers, Inc. and was a U.S. Marine Reservist for 19 years. He was instrumental in the development of the Hurricane High School baseball-softball complex, was a member of the Putnam County Masonic Lodge No. 139 A.F. & A.M., Hurricane, a 32 degree Master Mason, a member of the Scottish Rite and York Rite Bodies, a member of Pleasant View Church of God, Hurricane, and a lifelong resident of Putnam County.
He was preceded in death by his father, John D. Henson Sr., son, Henry M. Henson, and a brother, John D. Henson Jr.
Surviving: mother, Luella M. Henson of Winfield; brother, Joseph F. Henson of Danville; grandchildren, Derrick K. Henson and Christopher Henson, both of Pt. Pleasant, and Tyler Willard of Scott Depot.
Service was held Tuesday, April 27, 2004, at Chapman Funeral Home, Teays Valley, with the Rev. Earl Curnutte officiating. Burial was Masonic Rites by Putnam Masonic Lodge No. 139 A.F. & A.M., was in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.

C. Donald `Don' Hendrickson
C. Donald “Don” Hendrickson, 84, of Huntington, died Thursday, April 22, 2004, in St Mary's Medical Center. Funeral services were conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 25, 2004, at Fifth Avenue Baptist Church Chapel, Huntington, with Dr. Allen Reasons and the Rev. Hubert Harvey officiating. Burial in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Mr. Hendrickson was born December 2,1919 in Lincoln County, West Virginia, a son of the late Fred Sr. and Hazel Adkins Hendrickson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Irene Summers. He was a funeral director for 30 years in the Huntington area, retiring from Snodgrass Funeral Home in Charleston. After his retirement, he was affiliated with Henson Mortuary of Barboursville. Mr. Hendrickson was a member of Fifth Avenue Baptist Church and an active committee member there. He was also a veteran of World War 11, serving in the U.S. Army in the European Theatre. He is survived by his wife, Lilly “”Lil” Vineyard Hendrickson; a daughter, Donna Hendrickson Lindelof and her husband Gregory of Mountain View, Calif.; two grandsons, the Rev. Mark Alan Robertson of Atlanta, Ga, and Paul Daniel Robertson of Bozeman Mont.; two great-grandchildren, Dorothea Faith and Sophia Francis Robertson a sister, Louise Hunt of Edgewater, Fla.; and a brother, Fred Hendrickson Jr, of Titusville, Fla The family would like to express their thanks to Hospice of Huntington, Pro-Nursing Inc, and caregiver Kim Litchfield. Basil G. Vickers, 87, of Mason W.Va. formerly of Lincoln County, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on April 21, 2004, at Pleasant Valley Hospital after a long illness. Burial in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Hamlin. He was a veteran of World War 11 and retired from Lincoln County Board of Education. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mason, W.Va. He was the son of the late Oley B. Vickers and Bertha Barnett Vickers. Basil and his wife Fonda has had a family day care m their home for the past three years. Surviving is his wife of 43 years, Fonda G. Vickers; his four children, Rexel G. Vickers and wife Teri of Texas , Ransford L Vickers and his wife Tracy of Salt Rock, W.Va., Regina K Miller and husband Charlie of Charleston, WV, Ronda L Dailey and husband Mark of Milton W.Va. Darrel E. Chapman, 57, of Milton went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, April 22, 2004, in the V.A. Medical Center, Huntington. Mrs. Marguerite Skidmore, 79, of Huntington, widow of Bobby White Skidmore, passed away Friday, April 23, 2004, at her residence. Graveside funeral services were conducted at 11 am Monday, April 26, 2004, in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Huntington, with the Rev. Tom Nolan Jr. officiating and where burial followed. She was born Oct. 22,1924, in Huntington, a daughter of the late Asa Everette and Ethel Meehling Harrison. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Steven White Skidmore and two brothers, Lee and Bob Harrison. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, David Gregory and Tina Skidmore of Barboursville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Norman and Jeanetta Skidmore of Barboursville, Joe and Jean Skidmore of Pennington Gap, Va, Jessie and Wesley Riddle of South Gate, Mich., and Valerie Harrison of Melbourne, Fla.; and a niece and her husband, Christy and Mark Wolf of Barboursville. Joseph Michael Adkins, 26, of Barboursville, passed away Sunday, April 18, 2004. Funeral services were conducted Friday, April 23, 2004, at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Rev. Larry Perry and the Rev. David Adkins. Burial in Cedar Cliff Cemetery. He was born April 22, 1977, in Cabell County, a son of Joe and Karen Perry Adkins of Barboursville. He was an employee of W.R. Smith Construction and a graduate of Barboursville High School. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Hallie and Nettie Adkins. Also surviving are one son, Joseph Michael Adkins of Barboursville; one stepsister, Debbie Kitts of Huntington; one brother, Justin Allen Adkins of Huntington; maternal grandparents, Arnold and Estelle Perry of Huntington and several aunts and uncles.
Acie Kermit “Red” Stone and Emalene Marie Edwards Stone are together again. Emalene Marie Edwards Stone, 72, of Barboursville, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2004. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, April 22, 2004 at Cyrus Creek Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Ray officiating. Burial in Forest Memorial Park, Milton. She was born June 17, 1931, in Barboursville, a daughter of the late Walter “Speck” Edwards and Hazel Marie Ramsey Edwards. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ida Peyton Ramsey and Walter Ramsey, her stepmother, Gladys Peyton Edwards, her husband, Acie Kermit “Red” Stone and her grandson, Mark Russell Dean. She was a lifelong member of Cyrus Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Claudia “Aunt Candy” Peyton, an African Missionary, was her aunt. She graduated from Barboursville High School. She was a wife and mother, working outside the home as needed. She is survived by her four children, Sharon Marie Stone of Barboursville, Beverly Ann Dean of Huntington, Edward Kermit and Kelly Stone of Huntington and Bette Lou Thomas of Ona. She is survived by eight grandchildren, Robert Antonio Stone of Barboursville, Melissa Grisela Stone of Barboursville, Steven Ray Dean of Kenova, John Anthony Stone of Cambridge, England, Derek Edward Stone of Lewisburg, Kelsy Marie Stone of Huntington, Marcus Edward Stone of Huntington, and Stephanie Brooke Early of Huntington; four great-grandchildren, Haley Nicole Early, Isaiah Joel Collins, Drusilla S. Dean and Madeline Marie Stone. She will be missed especially by her aunt, Mildred “Mick” Hall of Barboursville, and one special sister, Brenda Bond.

DuBose officiating. He was born March 19, 1952, in Huntington, W.Va. Greg was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was employed at McJunkin Supply Co., Hurricane. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Patsy L. and Dale Smith of Milton; father and stepmother, Charles S. and Shelia White of La Grange, Ga.; daughter Erin Leigh White of Huntington; stepdaughter Kelli Renee Young of Washington , D.C.; stepbrother Dale B. Smith II of Kissimee, Fla.; stepsister Angela Kidd of Apopka, Fla.; half brother, Wesley White ; half sister, Natalee White , both of La Grange, Ga.; aunt Dorla Ashworth of Ohio; and several cousins. Mary Jane Woodard Nimmo, 76, of Milton, passed away Sunday, April 18, 2004, at home after a long illness. She was born May 31, 1937, in Huntington, a daughter of the late Daniel and Otealu Adkins Woodard. She is survived by her loving husband, R.W. “Bill” Nimmo; one son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Bertie Nimmo of Huntington; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Teresa and Rick Childers of Milton, Anita and Ed Langdon of Winter Park, Fla. and Cheryl Nimmo of Milton; eight grandchildren, and their spouses, Ray and Tammy (Faber) Nimmo, Brian and Karen Nimmo, Angie and Rick Payton, Jarrod and Lisa Childers, John and Kristy Childers, Daniel Childers, Patrick McNair and Amanda McNair; also six beautiful great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Nellie Withrow Bailey.

Delbert H. Gibson Sr.
Delbert H. Gibson Sr., 82, of Poca died Easter morning, April 11, 2004, at home.
He was a lifelong resident of Poca, retired postmaster of Poca, member of Bancroft Church of God Mission, former elder and pastor of various Mission churches in Putnam and Kanawha counties, an ordained minister for the Church of God Mission, founding member and officer of the Church of God Mission Organization, former school bus driver for Putnam County Schools, former merchant in Putnam and Kanawha counties, and an Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Earl and Dessie Dell Parkins Gibson, and brothers, Clifford Ray and Clive Houston Gibson.
Surviving: wife of 63 years, Velva Pearl “PeeWee” Landers Gibson; children, Charlotte Painter of Bancroft, Loretta “Toonie” Landers of Poca, Carla Craigo of Bancroft, Candice Smith of Poca, Kimberly Fox of Hometown, and D. Hershel Gibson Jr. of Bancroft; brothers, the Rev. Buel Gibson of Nitro, Maxie and Darrel Gibson, both of Poca; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

Sheila N. Milford, 45, of Poca died April 10, 2004.
She was born in Lens, France. She was baptized at Baptist Temple, Ripley, was former LPN, enjoyed skydiving and loved the beach.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Sara F. Cummings, and her birth mother, Anna Adamyack.
Surviving: children, Paul Cummings of Sacramento, California, Katrina Barreca of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Jason McQuain of Washington D.C.; father and stepmother, Lester and Janet Cummings of Poca.
Service was held Thursday, April 15, 2004, at Gatens Funeral Home Chapel, Poca. Entombment was in Haven of Rest Memorial Gardens, Red House.
Benny Jack Agosti
Benny Jack Agosti, 70, of Poca died April 13, 2004, at home.
He was born in Danville to Frank and Leora Miller Agosti on May 30, 1933. He was a veteran of the
Korean War, a member of Cross Lanes First Church of the Nazarene, and a retired truck driver and construction worker.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
Surviving: wife, Mary Ellen Agosti; children, Jack Agosti Jr. and wife, Vickie, of Sissonville, Mary and husband, Robert Carter Jr., Eddie Agosti, and Michael Agosti, all of Poca; sister, Frances Showalter of Winfield; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
