GLENGARY, W.Va. - Nancy Y. Blackburn, 91, of Glengary, and formerly of Houston, died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 1997, at Rose Hill Nursing Home, Berryville, Va.
Born April 2, 1906, in Corpus Christi, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Charles Phillip Yeager and Almeda Scott Yeager.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth Swinford; and by her second husband, Edward A. Blackburn.
She was a member of St. John The Divine Episcopal Church in Houston.
She is survived by one daughter, Jerrie Nan Vasiloff of Glengary; one stepson, Dr. Edward A. Blackburn Jr. of Houston; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be Tuesday at George Lewis Funeral Home, Houston. Burial will be in Glenwood cemetery, Houston.
Local arrangements are by Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Gladys D. Unger, 73, of Martinsburg, W.Va., died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 1997, at City Hospital, Martinsburg.
Born Sept. 11, 1924, in Shenandoah Junction, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Edmund Schley and Elsie Mauck Hoffmaster.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Miller Unger, in 1989.
She was a retired registered nurse.
She was a member of Hedgesville Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son, O. Keith Unger of Benton Harbor, Mich.; two sisters, Eleanore May Unger of Martinsburg and Mary Viola Griffith of Lanham, Md.; two brothers, Edmund S. Hoffmaster Sr. of Rockville, Md., and Herbert M. Hoffmaster of Frederick, Md.; and two grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. Floyd Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Virginia O. Helmick, 84, of Martinsburg, died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 1997, at Shawnee Springs Nursing Home, Winchester, Va.
Born May 4, 1913, in Montgomery County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Annie Anderson Moses.
She was the former owner and operator of Mel's and Virginia's Restaurant, now The Spring House.
She is survived by friends Robin McNulty of Gerrardstown, W.Va., and Laurie and David Risley of Gerrardstown.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin R. Helmick.
Services will be Friday at 2:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. David Risley will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - E. Jean Holton, 67, of Martinsburg, died Monday, Nov. 24, 1997, at City Hospital, Martinsburg.
Born April 7, 1930, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Harold T. and Hazel P. DuBreuil Shroades.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Kearns and by her husband, Robert Holton.
She retired from Corning Glass with 24 years of service.
She was a member of Inwood United Methodist Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Shelley Butts of Bunker Hill, W.Va., Deanna Paden of Las Vegas, and Melanie Cook of Hedgesville, W.Va.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, Gene Kyle Holton; one sister, Doris Ann Shroades; and one brother, Ted Shroades.
Services will be Wednesday at 12:45 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. James R. Embrey will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery, Martinsburg.

Theodore D. Matthews
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Theodore Dalmus Matthews, 90, of Martinsburg, died Monday, Nov. 24, 1997, at Ravenwood Lutheran Home, Hagerstown.
Born Feb. 21, 1907, he was the son of the late Josiah David Matthews and Mary Rose Baker Matthews.
He was a graduate of Martinsburg High School, Shepherd College and George Washington University Graduate School.
He was a teacher and principal in local elementary schools for 46 years, retiring in 1972. He also was a partner in T.E. Matthews and Brothers Foundry, the oldest continuing business in Berkeley County, W.Va.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army.
He was a life member of Winchester Avenue Christian Church.
He was active in local civic organizations, and recently served as vice president of the General Adam Stephen Memorial Association.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Elizabeth Matthews; two sons, Theodore D. Matthews Jr. of Olathe, Kan., and Gary H. Matthews of Martinsburg; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. Douglas J. Hollida will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery, Martinsburg.

HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Harrison C. DeHaven, 86, of Route 4, died Monday, Nov. 24, 1997, at his home.
Born Sept. 22, 1911, in Frederick County, Va., he was the son of the late Issac Newton DeHaven and Amy Bell DeHaven.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Alma Dellinger DeHaven.
He is survived by his wife, Eunice Dellinger DeHaven; two daughters, Darlene Hedges of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Barbara Kirchner of Keokuk, Iowa; one stepson, Lloyd Dellinger of Winchester, Va.; nine grandchildren; great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth DeHaven; three sisters, Mary Slonaker, Minnie DeHaven and Beulah Murphy; and one brother, Hollis DeHaven.
Services will be Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. Hennis Fox will officiate. Burial will be in Tomahawk cemetery.

Norma I. Busey
FALLING WATERS, W.Va. - Norma Iris Busey, 70, of Falling Waters, died Sunday, Nov. 23, 1997, at City Hospital, Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born Sept. 9, 1927, in Waco, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Hathaway and Essie Huddleston Goodloe.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry L. Busey Sr., in 1993.
She was a graduate of Moore High School, Waco. She attended Prairie View University, Shepherd College and Shenandoah University.
She retired from the Veterans Affairs Medical Center after 22 years as a nursing assistant.
She was a member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church.
She was a past member of Daughters of the Elks and Eastern Star Bethel Chapter 26.
She is survived by one daughter, Angela Busey, at home; two brothers, E.L. Goodloe of Houston and Wilmer Goodloe of Saginaw, Mich.; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Clovis Henry and Juanita Goodloe; and two brothers, Talmage Goodloe and John E. Goodloe.
Burial and services will be private at the convenience of the family.
There will be no visitation.
