Charles A. Burton, 77, of Scott Depot died February 29, 2004, in Putnam General Hospital.
He was born January 10, 1927 in Hamlin, a son of the late Frank and Dolcie Issac Burton. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Paul Burton and Billy Burton.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during World War II, and a 50-year member of Hamlin Masonic Lodge No. 79 AF & AM.
Surviving: wife, Jean Day; stepson, John Day of Delaware, Ohio; stepdaughter, Pamela Kim of Corpus Christi, Texas ; sisters, Eileen McComas of Midkiff, Shelia Cobb of Scott Depot and Sharon Martin of Charleston; three step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
Service was held Wednesday, March 3, 2004, at Powhatan Cemetery, Powhatan Point, Ohio. Chapman Funeral Home, Teays Valley, was in charge of arrangements.
Bruce B. Craig
Bruce B. Craig, 72, of Buffalo died Sunday, February 29, 2004, at home following a short illness.
He was a 15-year owner/operator of Craig's Grocery, Buffalo, a retired deckhand for AEP Transportation, a lifelong resident of Buffalo, and attended the New Hope Tabernacle, Robertsburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emory and Ernie Hayes Craig.
Surviving: his wife of 52 years, Esta Mae Priddy Craig; daughter, Loretta Mae Craig Davis and her husband, Jack, of Buffalo; son, Donnie Lee Craig os Cross Lanes; granddaughters, Christina Faye Craig Young of Winfield, Michelle Dawn Craig Johnson of Sissonville, and Makailah Nichole Davis of Buffalo; great-granddaughters, Morgan and Megan Young, both of Buffalo.
Service was held Wednesday, March 3, 2004, at Raynes Funeral home, Buffalo, with the Rev. Jasper Herdman and the Rev. Wayne Burch officiating. Burial was in Buffalo Memorial Park.
Yvonne G. Dunaway
Yvonne G. Dunaway, 57, of Milton died March 4, 2004, in St. Mary's Medical Center after a long illness.
Surviving: daughters, Sherry Ramsey of Milton, Angela Edwards of Fraziers Bottom, and Rachel Edwards of Buffalo; brother, Jarrell Mynes of Kentucky; sisters, Mamie Edwards and Juanita Mynes, both of Hurricane; five grandchildren.
Service was held Sunday, March 7, 2004, at Allen Funeral home, Hurricane, with the Rev. Lyle McMicken officiating. Burial was in Mount Moriah Cemetery.

Daniel Owens, 69, of Poca died March 3, 2004, in CAMC Memorial Hospital.
He was a former 10-year resident of Nitro, a graduate of Concord College, was currently employed by the Lively Insurance Agency where he worked as a bond agent, and was retired from Westfield Companies Insurance. He attended St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Nitro, and was an Army veteran and an avid golfer.
Surviving: wife, Allyson Hodges Owens of Poca; sons, Dr. Jack D. Owens of Jackson, Mississippi and Daniel G. Owens Jr. of San Diego, California; daughter, Stephanie George of Macon, Georgia; grandchildren, Caroline, Madeline and John Owens, Sam Owens and Percy George; sister, Helen Wise of Marietta, Georgia; stepchildren, Alexandra Criner of Nitro and Katie Lilly of Cross Lanes.
Service was held Saturday, March 6, 2004, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church with Pastor Tom McDowell officiating. Interment was in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans. Casdorph & Curry Funeral Home, St. Albans, was in charge of arrangements.
Lloyd H. Tucker Sr.
Lloyd Houston “Pug” Tucker Sr., 71, of Jacobsburg, Ohio, formerly of Hometown, died March 4, 2004, in Wheeling.
He was born February 26, 1933 in Hometown, a son of the late James Arthur and Eva Bailey Tucker. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Charlotte Margaret Bailey Tucker, sisters, Annabelle Carney and Violet Bailey, and grandson, Micah Shawn Tucker.
He was a retired coal miner from North American Coal Company's Number 3 Mine and a member of Church Alive, Key, Ohio.
Surviving: wife, Norma Jean Palmer McGill Tucker; sons, Rickie Lee Tucker and Lloyd Tucker Jr., both of Jacobsburg; daughter, Charlotte Ann Evans of Shadyside, Ohio; stepdaughters, Andrea Elaine McGill of Powhatan Point, Ohio, and Kimberly Sue Tucker of Jacobsburg; sister, Genevieve Landers of Bancroft; brothers, Eldon Tucker of Bancroft and Gerald Tucker of Indiana; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

John Edward Young, 73, of Poca died March 4, 2004, in Thomas Memorial Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Jean Young.
He was a retired master plumber from McComas Plumbing & Heating, St. Albans.

William E. “Willie” Muck, 78, of Red House died March 5, 2004, at home after a long illness.
He was born December 19, 1925 in Poca. He was retired with 30 years service with the carpenter local union.
He was preceded in death by a son, Roger Dean Muck.

Freda J. Pritt Sullivan, 89, of Buffalo died Saturday, March 5, 2004, at SunBridge of Putnam following a short illness.
She was a lifelong resident of the Buffalo area, a homemaker, a retired cook for Buffalo High School with 27 years service, and a member of the Buffalo United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary E. Reed Pritt; ex-husband, Dale Sullivan; six brothers and one sister.

Ada Louise Wears Bailey, 82, of Scott Depot died March 6, 2004, in Putnam General Hospital.
She was born June 12, 1921 in Pt. Pleasant, a daughter of the late Boyd and Mary Wears. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy Clayton Bailey in 1996.
She was formerly employed by Hecks Warehouse and Ben Franklin's Department Stores. She was a 39 year resident of Scott Depot and was a Methodist.

James Robert Vanoy Jr., 34, of Hurricane died Saturday, March 6, 2004, in St. Mary's Medical Center following a long illness.
He was a 1987 graduate of Nitro High school and was a Christian. He was employed as a heating and cooling technician for 16 years.

Barbara Alan Green, 52, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2004, in Cabell-Huntington Hospital. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alan and Lahoma Green of Huntington.
