Kenneth Veon Singleton
Kenneth Veon Singleton, 71, of Orlando, WV passed away Monday March 28, 2011 at WVU/Ruby Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
He was born on December 26, 1939 in Braxton County a son of the late Basil and Maude Singleton. He was a retired Mine Equipment Mechanic and a former employee of Mid-State Motors in Flatwoods.
He is survived by his son, Kenneth D. Singleton (Samantha) of Orlando; Daughters, Sheila Harrouff (Bernard) of Birch River and Priscilla Cosner (Frederick) of Burnsville. Brother, Tracy Singleton of Buckhannon. Sisters, Dorothy Adams of Knightdale, NC; Sharon Williams of Hinesville, GA; Mattie Taylor of Sutton; Peggy Hartman of Gassaway; Treva Rochette of Wilson, NY; Linda Spencer of Newfane, NY. Kenneth is also survived by Emily “Jean” Singleton, former wife and lifelong friend. Sister, Mary Ellen Singleton, predeceased Kenneth.
Grandchildren; Natoshia Bosley, Brandon Bosley, Gretchen Harrouff, Mallory Harrouff, Dylan Singleton, Daulton Singleton, Delaney Singleton, Allison Cosner, Adam Cosner, (and expecting a grandson in June) Great-grandson, Warren Wood.
Funeral services were held on Friday, April 1, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Stockert-Sizemore Funeral Home in Flatwoods, WV with Rev. Ronzel Roberts officiating. Burial was in Short Cemetery near Orlando, WV. Henry Leon Roby
Henry Leon Roby, 60, of Flatwoods went home to be with the Lord on April 9, 2011 at his residence. He was born in Sutton, West Virginia to the late Otis Ray and Olive Kniceley Roby. He was a farmer and attended Zion Pentecostal Church of God in Sutton.
Preceding him in death were his parents and sister Yvonne Roby.
Surviving are his daughters; Natasha Verton of Sutton and Heather Roby of West Virginia, grandchildren; Lucas Hacker, Jeffrey Verton, Frankie Verton and Olivia Teeter, brothers; John Roby and Richard Roby of Ohio, Marion Roby of Harrisville, WV, Joe Roby of S.C., Ronnie Roby of VA. Gary and Duke Roby both of Flatwoods.
Friends were received at Greene-Robertson Funeral Home, Sutton on Tuesday, April 12, 2011. There was no service.

Bernice Mick Blake
Bernice (Skinner) Mick Blake, of Orlando, WV. was lifted on angels wings to meet her Lord on April 30, 2011. God has blessed her with an eternal position in His heavenly angel choir.
Bernice was a member of the Orlando United Methodist Church and a retired Library Assistant from Glenville State College. She enjoyed singing, writing poetry, drawing, working in her flower garden and especially spending time with her family and friends. She was a true blessing from God and leaves behind many happy and cherished memories for her loved ones.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Charlie Mick, her parents, Dwight and Hazel Skinner and brother, Leonard Skinner.
Bernice leaves behind precious memories for her loving family: husband, Larry Blake, daughter, Carla (Mick) Conley and her husband, Rodney. Granddaughter, Jenna Conley and grandson, Colden Conley. Great-grandson, Charlie Rollyson. Brother, Melvon (Buck) Skinner and wife Barbara. Half brothers, Ron, Steve and Mike Carpenter. Half sister, Rhonda Skinner and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Thursday May 5, 2001 at 11:00 AM at Orlando United Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Griffin officiating. Interment was in Orlando Cemetery. Eddie Wayne Gray
Eddie Wayne Gray, 49, of Summersville passed away May 1, 2011 at Summersville Regional Medical Center.
He was born on May 10, 1961, a son of Margie Young Gray and the late Kenneth Darrell Gray.
Eddie was a factory worker.
He is survived by his mother; Margie Young Gray of Summersville, sons; Edward Gray and Troy Dale Gray both of KY, daughter; Melissa of KY, brothers; Jeffrey Gray of Sutton, Carlos Gray of Clay, sisters; Cindy Taylor of Dille, Lisa Gray Taylor of Summersville.
Funeral services were held Wednesday May 4, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Greene-Robertson Funeral Home, Sutton with Rev. Wayne Litton officiating. Burial followed at Ramsey Cemetery, Harrison, WV. Friends called one hour prior to service time.

Robert Kitzmiller
Robert “Casey” Kitzmiller was born on April 27, 1946 and entered eternal life on April 16, 2011. He was 64 years old.
Casey graduated from Sutton High School in 1964 and worked as a radio announcer for WSGB radio in Sutton, WV.
From 1967 – 1969, he served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Upon returning home, he began a career in radio broadcasting. From on-air personality to broadcast management, Casey worked in West Virginia, Alabama, Florida, Ohio, North Carolina, South Carolina, Pennsylvania , Virginia and Texas . Casey concluded his career in resort management in Corpus Christi, Texas .
Casey is survived by his wife, Melinda and daughters, Kasey C. Kitzmiller of Austin, TX and Caroline E. Kitzmiller of Corpus Christi Texas along with his brother Larry S. and sister-in-law Shirley Kitzmiller of Sutton, WV, nephew Ronald Kitzmiller of Heaters, WV and niece Crystal Toney of Charleston, WV. Casey was preceded in death by his parents, Marguerite and Richard Kitzmiller. He leaves behind a loving family, as well as many friends and colleagues.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 11:00 am at Christ Church United Methodist in Sutton. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Family Life Center of Christ Church.
Worthy Lee Bowyer, Jr.
Worthy Lee “Butch” Bowyer, Jr., age 73, passed away May 4, 2011 at Cornerstone Hospice at Lake Sumter.
He was born on March 29, 1938 in Sutton, West Virginia. He was the quarterback for Burnsville High School where he was all conference in the State of West Virginia in 1954, 55, & 56.
Butch had an appointment to Annapolis but chose to attend Potomac State College, and later Youngstown State University, where he graduated as a civil engineer. He worked for the Great Lakes Construction Company in Cleveland, Ohio beginning in 1961. Later he became the Vice President of Operations. In 1995, at age 55, he retired and moved to Tellico Villages of Loudon, Tennessee from Brecksville, Ohio. Five years ago he moved to The Villages in Florida. His hobby was carpentry. He had an instrument pilot’s license. He owned his own plane. He owned and drove a stock car. He was a scuba diver in his earlier years. During his employment with the Great Lakes Construction Company, he was instrumental in the construction of the Cook Nuclear Power plant in Bridgman, Michigan, Perry Nuclear Power plant in Perry, Ohio, and numerous large bridges, highway projects, sewage treatment plants, and steel mills.
He was preceded in death by his mother Ruth Leshnock, father, Worthy Bowyer Sr., and sister; Mary Jo Thomas.
He is survived by his wife Dee (Bubon-Glaros) Bowyer, his brothers; Raymond Bowyer
and Rodney (Mary Beth) Bowyer of Canfield, Ohio. His son Greg (Cindy)
Glaros of Carmel, Indiana, daughter; Lori (Lawson) Dripps of Canfield, Ohio.
Grandchildren; Lawson Dripps III, Tiffani (Ryan) Catlin, Halley (Adam) Fast, Gina Glaros and Jonathan Glaros. Great Grandchildren: Taegen Catlin, Livia
Carlin, and Grayson Fast.

Pearl Pyles
Pearl Pyles, 95, of Sandfork, WV passed away Monday May 2, 2011 at Glenville Care and Rehab Center after a long illness.
She was born on June 3, 1915 a daughter of the late John and Bessie Jenkins Greenlief. She was a homemaker, a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. Pearl was a member of the Cedar Creek Baptist Church.
Pearl is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Raymond Pyles; Children, Harley Pyles, Betty Linger and Elaine Greenlief; and Brother, Robert Greenlief.
She is survived by sons: Robert Pyles of Cedarville, Ernest Lee Pyles of Texas , Gary Pyles of Weston, Francis Pyles of Glenville and Ronnie Pyles of Sandfork; One daughter, Alice Mackey of Sandfork; Half Brothers and Sisters: May Greenlief, Floata Mallory, and Rodney and Pete Greenlief; Grandchildren include, Louise Parsons, Roger Luzader, Rosemarry Douglas, Kay Fox, Ruthalee Jarrell, Brenda Lyton, Daniel Pyles, Debbie Bonnett, Sandra Crist, Janet Ogden, Jerry Pyles, Michelle Hibbs and Larry Pyles; 25 Great-Grandchildren and 8 Great-Great-Grandchildren.

Ruth V. Villers
Ruth V. Villers, 91, of Gassaway, formerly of Heaters, WV passed away Saturday May 7, 2011 at her home after an extended illness.
She was born on Nov. 29, 1919 in Sutton, WV a daughter of the late Daniel Henry Cliftan and Dorothy E. Blankenship Malcomb. She formerly worked at Facemires Foodland, as a mail carrier and at Libby’s Lunch. She attended Heaters United Methodist Church.
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, Husbands, Basil Butcher, Edgell Knapp and Burton Villers. Brothers, Charles “Bud” Malcomb and Joe Cliftan. Sisters, Dolly Carpenter, Opal Perrine, Helen Garrett, Virginia Cliftan Williams and Betty Cliftan Gibson. Step-grandchildren, Staci Villers and Baby Dave Jack. Daughter in-law, Janie Villers.
She is survived by step-children, Calvin Villers of Manaway, OH, Barbara Jack (Dave) of Sutton, Shelba Malcomb (Skip) of PA. Marge Villers (wife of Max Villers). Sisters, Rita Ware of Chippawa Falls OH and Melba Wise of Tucson, AZ.
Step-Grandchildren, Cheri Villers, Lisa Keown, Tracy Villers all of Ohio, Shawna Cox of KY and Karen Abraham of Sutton. And many nieces and nephews.

Helen Marie Davis-Shoup
Helen Marie Davis-Shoup, age 83 of Englewood FL and formerly of Mansfield, OH and Exchange, WV died on March 21, 2011. She was born on September 20, 1927 and is survived by her brother Glenn Hyer of Titusville, FL.
Helen was in the beauty business for 40 years and was the owner of Boutique Hair Fashions in Mansfield, OH from where she retired in 1993. She was a member of Gulf Cove Methodist Church and The Order of the Eastern Stars.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband Paul in 2003.
There will be no services and cremated remains were buried in Mansfield Memorial Park Cemetery.
